Lived in this apartment complex for the last few years. Management is very helpful and receptive to any needs we had with the apartment complex. Maintenance is also helpful and would come out in a timely manner whenever an issue arose. Neighbors also keep to themselves and we never dealt with any loud noises in the complex. Overall, it was a great place to live in my opinion. The price for living in a two bedroom was not bad at all. Also, it was very close to the river which was a plus. Only moved because we were buying a home, but would’ve still been living here if that were not the case.

We just moved out and are sad to leave but had to due to being relocated for work. Both management dealt with over the 3 years were friendly and quick to assist with any issues that arose. I actually had the pleasure of having the same current management with my previous apartment in San Marcos.Jenn was always very helpful with me. I was moving from out of state and she was great with keeping me in the know and making my transition smooth. With my current stay we had several questions with my new moving process as I was applying for a house out of city and had a false eviction on my record from the previous state I was living. The management helped me get my new place in the best way they could, staying in contact with me and the new place to provide any information that could help.I love the layout of the apartment with a huge open kitchen and built in island. It was great having 2 entrances to our restroom as well. We never had any issues with the community including the college kids. Well worth the price we paid! Thank you Hill Country, we will miss you.

I’ve been living at Hill country apartments for 2 years now. I love it. The apartment feels super spacious and they are very pet friendly. The apartments are cute and clean and the maintenance guys are great. They are always helping out and they are fast to make sure everything is working as it should. The rent is very reasonable and the management has always been super cool and worked through any issues reasonably and in a timely manner. The management has helped me with my renewals and any changes in my lease and have been very understanding and worked with me every step of the way.

We have lived here since Aug 2021. They had held a apartment for us on our move from Colorado. My MIL called and asked if they had a bottom floor due to my disability. They had one and they asked to wait a month. So we did. It’s quite here and there was a few tenets that I thought they would come threw the ceiling. It was crazy loud. I know I have a bottom floor, I know I am. They tried thier best to have them stop. Yet only No releasing to them it sure did stop it. Very grateful to it. Migraines and the stomping was nuts. The management is on top of things and very friendly. Maintenance has been on top of everyone and fast! Both the dishwasher and hot wat tank fix and no problems again. Will be signing our 3 year lease here as well. Why mess up a good thing.

I lived here for 2 years and will miss it which is saying something for San Marcos. I was a student at Texas State and the management ALWAYS treated me with respect. My maintenance requests were always fixed within a day. The apartment was well taken care of and spotless when I moved in. There were never rowdy parties and the neighbors were nice. The bus stop was only a 5 min walk and the campus about 15 min so its a great location. The rent is very reasonable and I really enjoyed living here. I recommend this to everyone!

My time renting with Arbor is coming to a close so it is an appropriate time to write a review.Ive rented with Arbor properties for about six years collectively, 3 years at Stonegate apartments and 3 at Hill Country. I have had great experiences at both places and renting with Arbor in general.Hill Country is a great place to live as a college student, and noise levels are generally pretty low. Hill country is that nice chill spot if thats what you are looking for while youre in school. It is also within walking distance of campus, about a 15-30 minute walk depending on campus location.I cant vouch for what its like to live here as a family. However, noise is rarely an issue other than the occasional loud music drive by (its an apartment complex). Sometimes neighbors above you stomp around in usual fashion, but if you take it up with your neighbors personally or through management any noise issues can be resolved.Buildings are also very well lit at night, and people are typically walking their dogs at various times (very pet friendly locale). As such, Hill Country feels very safe in comparison to other complexes.Overall, management has treated me well, and any issues brought to maintenance are resolved in a timely manner. I developed friendly relationships with all of the above with no issues, throughout three management changes. Naturally, your mileage may vary, but I recommend this complex to anybody moving to San Marcos, locals, or for the temporary college student looking for a chill place to live.

I have lived here at Hill Country in the same unit for 2.5 years. I was first drawn to the place because of the beautiful balcony’s displaying plants and how close it is to campus (I am a student).I live in building 8 and it is a much older building, compared to my friends apartment in building 1, therefor the interior is a bit outdated. However, it is still such a quaint and nice place to live. It seriously is so quiet and I have never had an issue with my neighbors. There’s ALWAYS parking, it’s walking distance from school, and the rent is so reasonably priced. Above all though, the maintenance crew here is kickass. They are quick to service requests and are very friendly. Whether you put in a request online or tell them directly they are always sure to help you out at soon as possible.Now that I have talked about the good... let’s discuss the issues. The new management is definitely not as efficient or thoughtful as the last. A bit forgetful, although kind. Recently they replaced the big recycle dumpster with several recycle cans... this was very annoying considering the residents filled the dumpster regularly. Also, I find that they close the office before 5 on often occasions. This sucks too.Overall it’s a great place to live and recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, smaller, more personal apartment complex.

Best apartment we have had in San Marcos! The staff is friendly and accommodating and the maintenance is unbelievably fast. We had a few things over the year and a half we lived here and every time maintenance was making repairs within hours, it was awesome! Not to mention when shopping around it was one of the least expensive places especially for the space and walk in closets. The layout of the apartment helped noise from neighbors to be non-existant, and parking was effortless with ample parking spaces. Beau manages the office and was truly a blessing when we needed him for anything, give him a call to tour if you are looking for a new place!!

Lived there for 3 years. The maintenance people were always very helpful and didnt stop until your problem was solved. Beau, the property manager was awesome. The unit was spacious, affordable, and I walked to class. Enjoyed the pool, and theres a hiking trail near the back off Ramsay Rd I used to walk a lot.

I have lived here for two years and really loved it! Its walking distance from class, and the staff has always been super accommodating. I really appreciated how serviceable, and accommodating the manager Jennifer was when it was time to move out. She even allowed me an extra day to move out. I definitely recommend this place for the helpful staff, the location, the amenities, and the price range!

Great, affordable apartment complex thats walking distance to campus. The staff is super friendly, never have parking issues, wonderful for people with pets, apartments are older but built very well. For any serious issues my roommate and I have had, they were taken seriously & fixed promptly. I love living here!

I see many negative reviews about Hill Country and their management but I can’t relate. I recently moved my nephew into Hill Country and had a very different experience with Jennifer. When I stepped into the office, the 2 people working were welcoming and cheerful. Jennifer did not hesitate to answer all of my questions/concerns over the phone and in person. This is a hectic time of year for the housing in this city and Jennifer took the time to answer questions on, at least, 10 separate occasions. (Bless her patience with my family.) I was met with clear and concise answers about leasing, subletting and renewing. Jennifer is straight forward and to the point. There’s no BS with her and that’s what you want in a management team.

It’s a nice, quiet, and clean environment. I have not had any issues here so far. The staff is friendly and helpful. Maintenance take cares of issues in a timely manner. It’s close to the university and other great spots. Those are the reasons I’ve rated this complex with five stars and would totally recommend them.

Lived here for nine months and just renewed my lease with Jennifer she makes the leasing process easy! Had problems with my dryer and water heater reported it to management and they had the problem resolved within 24 hours with all new replacements.

Im shocked to see the negative reviews at this property, its a good value and close to campus. Jenn in the office is awesome and has made major strides in improving the property. As an apartment locator that works with the majority of the properties in the area this is by far one of the best deals in the area.

The management is exceptional. The maintenance team is amazing. The location is well kept and attractive as well as in the heart of everything San Marcos has to offer. The neighborhood is extremely quite and everyone is kind and respectful! I live here and I love it here!

New Management once again. Jennifer Wiget was the worst but this new management stays on top of things. I’d definitely renew my lease but I’m looking for something bigger having a family of 3 ! Build 1 and 3 I believe are newly built so i never had problems with roaches or any bugs lol !!

This is a hidden gem with great little features such as powered islands in the kitchens-- simple and affordable with great living space. Dont let any bad reviews fool you, this place is such a fun location, and so close to everything, and the prices are awesome! Ive stopped by this property needing help with all kinds of difficult situations and management has ALWAYS been very professional and helpful.

People are being a bit tough on the new management. The transition period may have been rough between managements, but theyre doing a good job, Jen and her team. I would recommend this complex over many others thats for sure. No bribes necessary.
