    An apartment complex is NOTHING without its management and Chavonne is truly the best. Extremely responsive and understanding. Her priority is taking care of her residents and you can tell, without a doubt. Living in an apartment complex does not mean everything will be perfect, but if she can control it, she steps in and handles it like a boss. Iā€™d live here again just knowing that she has her residents backs.Iā€™ve lived in PLENTY of complexes where the managers could care less about the residents they serve and ensuring they are comfortable and thatā€™s just not the case here. Chavonne is in control and clearly has a ton of experience doing it.The property itself is beautiful and they do a good job maintaining it. Again, things happen (as mentioned in other reviews) but they are quick to remedy and make right. All of my neighbors were also very kind and friendly which was enjoyable.Super affordable for the location and a great staff. Canā€™t beat it.

    Durham Heights is located in a trendy district of Houston, conveniently very close to Interstate 610. It is well stocked in Its amenities, to include a very complete fitness center and lounging area, pool and outdoor areas. I dont have pets, but its definitely pet friendly.As I transferred from out of state into Houston, It was important to have a quick and seamless transition. To this the staff at Durham Heights were very helpful and professional. Alonzo was the main person who assisted me with my paperwork process and he was cordial, patient and went the extra mile to get all my affairs in order. Alonzo also directed my tour throughout the facility and showrooms and helped me with my initial move into my residence.The apartment I moved into was very clean and move-in ready, not to mention swanky. Im very satisfied and happy with the whole process of moving to Houston and that includes my living arrangement here at Durham Heights.

    The entire staff makes this community living feel like a true home. They treat you as extended family. Manager Chavonne makes sure there is a very friendly oriented experience with resident events she is here everyday early to late I can appreciate that! Mia always answers my questions and Matilda gives the best customer support. Alonzo always goes over and beyond. As well as the maintenance crew keeps the building well kept & operating greatly.

    This place is great. Chavonne and her team do a an amazing job at keep the place running smoothly. Anytime theres an issue, they are quick to respond and fix it. They also put on get-togethers for the tenants to mingle and enjoy some good food. The amenities here, especially the gym, are super nice and convenient as well. Definitely, would recommend to apartment-shoppers.

    I moved in approximately 3 years ago and am currently in the process of renewing for a 4th year. The individual apartment interiors are lovely and I often get compliments from guests about the ā€œhotel likeā€ vibe of the complex. The location is perfect, and I think weā€™re finally past all the construction work that has been never ending since I moved in.The current management team (led by Chavonne) has been accommodating to requests and theyā€™ve corrected several issues that went unaddressed with the previous manager. There are plenty of monthly events to join in on and the coffee bar is often set up with morning treats/snacks.No apartment complex is going to be perfect (there are too many differing people to please), but the fact that Iā€™m renewing my lease should say a lot! Iā€™m happy calling Durham my home.

    I moved in at the beginning of September and have had nothing but great experiences here so far! Maintenance has been quick, office managers and staff are kind, helpful, and efficient, and the amenities are well maintained and clean. Chavonne has truly gone above and beyond, and is always there when I need her! The apartment isnā€™t perfect, but thatā€™s to be expected. Iā€™m so glad I chose Durham Heights as my first post-grad apartment!

    Iā€™ve stayed at the Durham Heights for 3 years and been through 4 different managers. The current manager, Chavonne, and her staff of Mia, Matilda and Alonzo are absolutely incredible. They are the reason Iā€™ve renewed my lease again today. Chavonne is super responsive, always in a good mood and will literally speak to you by name every time she sees you. Mia is lovely, reliable and will make sure you have all your packages that shipping people deliver erroneously šŸ˜« Matilda is incredibly professional and gets back with you quickly. Alonzo is the life of the party! He always has a positive, professional and hilarious attitude. Literally go by the office some times just to catch his jokes. Over Durham has become an incredible place to live and Iā€™d be happy to recommend to anyone šŸ’œ

    Updating: the gate has been fixed for a few weeks now and it feels so much safer!I have lived here for nearly a year and I love it!When we were moving in, the management team was very flexible when it came to working with us and our move-in date. We got an amazing unit with an amazing deal. And it has been so refreshing to live in an apartment complex where they actually care about their tenants. Recently the property has gone under new management and she is absolutely amazing. She gets to the apartment early to make sure that the coffee bar is always fully stocked It is so fun watching her on social media and itā€™s cool to see them doing more tenant, events and activities, which was definitely lacking before. She is adjusting our issues in a timely manner, and I am very excited to renew my lease and stay here longer. Some of the pros are definitely the neighborhood, it is very up-and-coming, so even though there is a lot of construction right now, you are within walking distance to a lot of different shops, restaurants and bars. All of the units that we toured( Because when we were trying to decide we looked at like eight of the different floor) are spacious and clean, and even though we showed up unannounced, the leasing team were able to accommodate us and showed us all of their units. If there are any issues management addresses them very quickly but I have not had any major concerns. Only downside is the garage door has been broken since I moved in over a year ago and the other doors periodically break locking you out.

    Chavonne sold me from the first initial meeting. She was extremely knowledgeable and it made me feel at home. Iā€™m moving from Cleveland Ohio and this was the first apartments I looked at. Once I left I immediately applied and didnā€™t even go to the other apartments I had on my list. Love this place and her, I would recommend to anyone.

    Iā€™ve been here since they opened and Chavonne by far has turned this place around! I love my home and location ! She throws the best resident events . She really shows she cares and itā€™s way more than a job. Iā€™ve been here through it all and I wouldnā€™t change a thing . When Chavonne leave is when itā€™s time for me to buy a house. She doesnā€™t know Iā€™m writing this but itā€™s about time for me to express my opinion.

    Moved from single family home to Durham Heights Apartments. The staff went above and beyond expectations. We checked out many other apartment complexes and Durham Heights was the most accommodating and welcoming. We have moved in and love it here. Itā€™s been a long time since I have lived in an apartment but this place has made it easy. Everything is new and beautiful. I feel like we live in a five star hotel. Highly recommend living here.

    Since before I moved here in July, Chavonne, Alonzo and Mia have been nothing but accommodating, kind, and efficient. The maintenance team is also super quick and responsive. These men work hard! Any complaints I was worried about in the reviews prior to moving here are honestly resident issues, which you will have at any apartment. i.e. trash complaints-ppl donā€™t follow the valet trash rules, which creates problems, then blame management when they claim to get a fine for leaving rotting garbage out 12 hours a day while they work with endless reminders of the valet times/days. Management works efficiently when they are aware of these issues at least, and I have seen improvement when they enforce the rules, so no complaints for rightfully doing so! I moved from somewhere where rules werenā€™t enforced, and it was terrible. Unfortunately, you canā€™t choose your neighbors, even in the heights, but knowing the property gets back with me within the same day is a huge peace of mind. Having two pools and really clean amenities is also a huge plus!

    My Mom had a nice one bedroom apartment here. The building is very pretty and clean. My review is really about the staff. My Momā€™s health declined and she needed to move into a retirement style building without much noticeā€¦the maintenance and management staff were kind to her and patient with charity truck coming for furniture pickups, etc., etc..

    An amazing apartment complex! I just moved in a few weeks ago, and couldnt be happier. From my initial contact, to my walk through, to the moving in process, everything has been super smooth and the staff always so helpful and nice. The building itself is great. Workout room, pool, areas for dogs, parking, and great location. Id highly recommend! Thanks to everyone at the desk for their help and answering all my questions!

    I have been at Durham for 3 years and have seen the worst of the worst with management. The current manager, Chavonne, has been the best. She is the 4th manger I have seen. She has made it more like a community and has routine events for residents. She does well communicating and does her best with anything that she has the power to control.

    Iā€™ve been here for 11 months so far and I donā€™t really have any major issues with any of the neighbors or with maintenance issues. The only ā€œcomplaintā€ if I had to choose would be the parking. The lines have faded and a lot of people park too close to the lines. Thatā€™s really it though :) I just signed my renewal because the cost, amenities and location are worth it for how close it is to work for me.

    I moved here exactly a month ago and my experience has been nothing but amazing.The whole leasing team is great. Matilda showed us our apartment twice before we made a decision to rent with them. Once we moved in Alonso and Mia have been super helpful. A great team lead by a great leader. Chavonne is amazing. I have lived in several apartment complexes in Houston in the last couple of years and this team is by far the best.The interior design of this place is beautiful. Completely different from all of the apartments we toured. The hallways have a hotel like feeling and my apartment is gorgeous. Big rooms, big bathrooms, a big nice tub and led mirrors.The amenities are exceptional. Gym has everything you need with complementary water bottles. The club house is super cute with a relaxing fireplace. Two swimming pools which I canā€™t wait to use once the summers here and several grills around the patios.I was a little bit hesitant about moving so close to a construction site, but it doesnā€™t bother me at all! I know once they finish the area will be even prettier.Neighborhoods around are lovely with bike paths to walk your dogs and A LOT of restaurants and cute places to visit.Some things that can be better is the doggy area. Thereā€™s always poop and the doors are broken. Itā€™s so dirty that my dog doesnā€™t even want to step on the grass. A pressure wash every once in a while would be appreciated.Overall I love living here, I would recommend anybody to live here.

    This is by far the best apartment I have ever lived in. From my initial visit to tour the apartment, I was greeted with a bright smile and positive energy. After weeks of searching for the right place, I happened to walk in here during my lunch break, and I knew right away that this was the place for us. Chevonne was the first person I spoke with, and her kindness and warmth made me feel at home immediately. I was impressed by how professional and friendly everyone was. Chevonne, Matilda, Mia, Alonzo, and the entire team are incredibly nice, welcoming, and professional. Chevonne re-drafted the lease several times to ensure we received all the deals, including a significant discount. She went above and beyond to make sure we didnā€™t miss out on any of the promotions available at the time. Chevonne is truly the best manager here, and I am very grateful for both her and Matildaā€™s help with our move.Since moving in, there have been countless events for residents. There is always something fun to do and a chance to relax after a long day of work. The team here works hard to ensure that there are enjoyable activities around the pool or bar, complete with food and drinks. Not many apartments offer such amenities. If you need assistance, the staff will stop what theyā€™re doing to help. I want to thank Mia for carrying my heavy luggage all the way to my apartment after my long flightā€”something no one at my previous apartment would have done. Although I donā€™t have pets, seeing how well the pets here are cared for makes me consider getting one.Please donā€™t be swayed by the negative reviews you may see. This is an exceptional place to live. Its disheartening to see negative comments blaming management and the team for issues beyond their control. The team has worked tirelessly to take care of us, especially during recent natural disasters and power outages, going above and beyond to resolve these challenges.

    Chavonne helped us out with showing the apartments and she was patient with the whole process. Very knowledgeable and made our renting experience smooth and enjoyable. Keep up the good work!Update: Management is taking residentsā€™ requests seriously and is personally overseeing improvements around the complex. We still have a ways to go, but management is definitely on the right track

    My husband and I really loved this property, the staff were some of the most genuine and kind people we have ever had the pleasure of working with. Elanzo was incredibly knowledgeable and thorough when giving us our tour and just had such a warmth about him that really put us in the mindset of making the community our home. Maltida was very articulate and knew the property and application process like the back of her hand. It put us in such a state of peace and ease of mind when working with her and made us confident that everything moving forward was going to be taken care of. Mai helped me out tremendously the next day because I made some errors on my application. She was so busy and several people needing her attention, but she handled herself and the residents like a boss. She made a phone call to Matilda to get some direction on what to do. She could of just of easily told me I would need to wait until upper management was in the office, but she went the extra mile, and that type of service is priceless. I sat back and just watched her work her magic, I cannot even put into words how confident I felt driving home thinking about what my experience has been the past few days and how confident we are in choosing this community as our next home.I know that there are multiple reviews that state some negative things about the property, specifically after hurricane season weather. Keep in mind that the property nor the staff can control the weather or the damages. The process to clean things up and get the grounds up and running is indeed a process and that will take place at whatever property you choose to lease at. When we toured the grounds and drove through all the levels of the parking garage everything was clean and orderly, no trash laying around or animal feces. The coffee bar was up and running and the grill stations and pools were clean and ready to be used. The club house area is absolutely gorgeous and there is so much workspace available.Throughout the various apartments we have lived at we have learned that there are just some frustrations that come with apartment living. What has made apartment living despite the frustrations is the staff that keep the building functioning, their professionalism, genuine care for the residents, and their promptness in starting and following through with the process to fixing the problems that cause these frustrations. Im confident that the staff at Durham Heights are some of the most capable and embodying people of doing just that.I will update this completely necessary long review as we continue our move in process at Durham Heights.side note: check out their instagram for more insight into the property and events put on for the resident

    Having called Durham Heights home since July 2023, I have enjoyed my experience overall so far, and ultimately decided to renew my lease recently despite the perceived shortcomings faced following the Derecho thunderstorm event in May 2024.I am not one to typically review any business or product, but I felt compelled to share my thoughts after our others in our community recently have. I applaud the staffs efforts (Alonzo, Mia, and Matilda) under Chavonnes leadership to make DH the best possible complex they can. Regarding the property itself, my roommate and I found the location to be fantastic considering its proximity to I-610 and between Durham/Shepherd streets despite the current construction. Our unit, like many in the area Im sure, had a few minor issues pertaining to appliances that were serviced by maintenance personnel in a timely manner. Albeit, several irresponsible pet-owning residents seem to consistently allow their pets to make messes inside and outside of the property without cleaning up after, yet management has done their best to enforce rules barring this from happening.Its not fair, in my opinion, to blame Chavonne and the on-site management for every issue the property and its residents face. I believe most issues that others have aired concerns about are the result of insufficient funds and resources being provided to the property from the parent company; i.e. parking garage gate and security concerns, access point malfunctions, public backlash following electrical faults following Derecho resulting from electrical subcontractors, package room and pool closures.TLDR: If you can get past the idea that everything on property does not run at 100%, 24/7, then I would recommend living at Durham Heights as the location, property, and management are nothing short of stellar, especially for the reasonable prices relative to other complexes nearby.

    When I was looking for an apartment earlier this year, Durham Heights stood out for its modern look, efficient floor plans, location in the Heights along with all its amenities (pools x2, gym, fitness room and cardio loft, commons area with fireplace, billards table, shuffle board and meeting room, an outside commons area with grills, TVs, dining and lounge seating, and ping pong table). Also the parking garage, mail room and package system, and 5 days a week trash service.We have been very happy with the management and overall cost. Maintenance if needed has responded same day even for non- emergent issues. I was frustrated with the May 2024 storm and several days of no power, but with the more recent hurricane, power was restored in just over 48 hours and management seemed more prepared.I think the only issue I have currently is the garage gate not functioning which is a security issue, but management is trying to get this fixed- seems to be at the mercy of the gate company and manufacturer.Overall, I have been very happy with this apartment complex.

    Chavonne, Alonzo, Mia and Matilda are all super nice and great. They definitely look out for their residents here. They are often available and want to know how weā€™re enjoying things. Chavonne once saved us a couple of water bottles because she knows me and my girl are always looking for one.Of the three apartments Iā€™ve lived at, this is hands down the best. Maintenance staff is prompt too.It is a beautiful area around. The only thing I donā€™t like is all the construction but that is out of their control. Oh and residents gotta do a better job of cleaning after their dogsā€™ poop in the dog area. Wish it was cleaner. But other than that, my experience has been fantastic.. Iā€™ve been here a month and love my apartment . 10/10 would recommend . Worth it for the price.

    We have been living at the Durham Heights since June 2023 and have loved it here so far. We moved in while we were having our house renovated, but also to see if we would enjoy living in a smaller space - the Durham Heights has made that very easy. We are a family of 3, plus a dog, living in their 2+2+office, and it honestly works better for us than our 2500sq ft home did. The amenities are great (3 gyms, 2 pools, activity patios, dog park + dog spa, office space and common rooms) - and since we live on the 1st floor, we use them all! Its winter now and we dont think about it as much - but the pool experience at this property, when its warm outside, is top-notch. The maintenance team has been fantastic, fixing things within hours of putting in a maintenance request. I read some of the reviews on here and they feel nitpicky - for example, the garage door has been broken for some time, but the property hired a night guard until it is fixed, which in my opinion is a much safer option. We often spend time talking to the office staff and they are all super kind, friendly and helpful. Not to mention that the new manager Chavonne has gone above and beyond in her first few weeks, not just in trying to know the residents, but in hosting events and decorating for the holidays. We really love it here and hope we can stay for a long time!

    Talk about a turn around! We have new management and things are noticeably changing. New paint, fixtures, holiday decorations, security on site. The building feels better and is definitely being kept up differently. Ms. Chavonne has been a great addition to the management staff and is appreciated!

    Just moved in to Durham Heights and so far itā€™s been a great experience. The girls up front answer any questions I might have. I put in a service request for some minimal items not working in the unit when moved in and the maintenance guys came right away and took care of it. My only concern would be people not picking up after their pets specially in the back side of the building and pet feces building up as well as some of the building access doors not fully closing. However these are minor issues that can be addressed and fixed easily. Have not ran into any immediate safety issues yet. Great location, beautiful amenities, and awesome management/maintenance team!

    Chavonne And Matilda are AMAZING. The changes in management have been 100% for the better. Unfortunately the garage door has been broken since I moved in back in July however, the new management team has made strides to secure the complex and provide night guards to monitor the garage while they work toward getting this fixed. The social media presence for the complex has grown and I enjoy the content that Chavonne posts to the IG page to bring the residents together. I havenā€™t had the opportunity to make it down in the morning for donuts and coffee, but I am making it a point to very soon. Chavonne is extremely approachable and kind, I was always hesitant to speak to previous management just due to the ā€œstand offā€ vibe. No more! After meeting and speaking with Chavonne and Matilda today, I feel extremely comfortable coming to them with anything I may need in the future. The cleanliness of the common areas along with the trash rooms has significantly improved. When I first moved in I would have given the complex a 3 star rating, I now feel confident in giving it a 5 star rating all because of Chavonne and her team. THANK YOU THANK YOU for all that you are doing, Durham Heights is a great place to live.

    We moved in less than a month ago and things have been going smoothly. I will say, on the tour the building appeared to be in tip top shape from a glance, however since moving in, itā€™s not what it seemed originally. My chief complaint would be the trash room situation and the disaster of a mail room. By the end of the week, trash is piled outside of the door and reeks. Iā€™m not sure if the shoots are full to the brim or if other residents are plain lazy, but itā€™s gross. The mail room is a whole other beast. Just a closet full to the brim with packages that have zero organization. Youā€™re guaranteed 10-20 minutes in there playing hide and seek trying to find your one package. A simple solution here could be as easy as adding alphabetized bins for recipients packages.As for the apartment itself, the finishes are nice and the layout is great. Other reviews have mentioned hearing other residents, but we personally havenā€™t had that problem. The location is great and I would recommend to friends! Yes there is definitely room for improvement here, but Iā€™d be shocked if there were any apartment complexes without a single problem.

    Iā€™ve lived here for 14 months and although there were some lags between ownership/staffing changes. Guillermo has definitely turned the property around and is a pleasure to speak with. I came down to request a filter change and maintenance came right up with me and handled on the spot. I will be renewing, you simply canā€™t beat the location, amenities and community of people.Update!!! I still live here and it keeps getting better. Susana and Chavonne are boosting the morale every opportunity they get. From muffins/mimosa and community mixers to going the extra mile to provide the best experience for my teams holiday party (hosted on property). Great to be apart of an upbeat community

    Excellent community. Gyms have everything. Both pools are awesome as well, itā€™s always clean and smelling good. The manager Guillermo is extremely helpful and always happy to answer any questions.Update: Met new manager Chavonne, and sheā€™s cute and amazing!

    Iā€™m a real estate agent who specializes in apartment leases and over the past few months Iā€™ve slowly become reacquainted with this property because of itā€™s new manager Guillermo. He is always working, extremely dedicated to the residents and to the applicants I bring through the door. I know it hasnā€™t always been that wayā€¦ first hand. But Iā€™ve been so impressed in the last month that I actually cancelled my lease just before moving in somewhere else and decided to move into Durham. My big ā€œwhyā€ is because the manager helps his team, when theyā€™re busy he is available for any job. And his team is trained with customer service as a top priority. Jasmine has been so patient with me as Iā€™m super picky and wanted to take measurements on more than one visit but she always agrees and takes her time to walk the apartment with me. I know itā€™s redundant but this new team really gets it. Iā€™ve been in the industry for 10 years and this is the first GM that Iā€™ve ever met who I felt was truly invested in a turn around and the company empowers him to do so! šŸ„°

The spacious and modern apartments offer a comfortable lifestyle, and the staff goes above and beyond to show residents they care especially in my personal experience with Susan and Chavonne.     The management staff is extremely friendly and helpful. The building itself is nice and the apartments are new and clean.There have been some issues with the security of the building but management usually is quick to find a solution to the problem.However, the heights area is growing and has a lot to offer so the location of this apartment building has its perks for sure!

    Location is great, close access to the Loop and I-10. H-E-B is behind Durham heights and super convenient. A lot of close bars. The complex has a dog spa station which is a huge win to just shower my pet myself in the complex. The staff is great and accommodating. Love the pool and bar down stairs.

    I MEAN WOW!!!! The customer service from the touring to the application process was STELLAR! I donā€™t normally write reviews like at all because I just donā€™t care to lol BUT Matilda and Chavonne have out done themselves!     I had an amazing experience from the tour to move-in. I was touring another property and was provided the information about this property (from someone that viewed previously). I scheduled a tour. I arrived and toured the complex. It is beautiful. The building is still under construction. The management and staff are very pleasant and professional. I decided to apply immediately. I was due to move-in but there were delays. This is expected with a new building. Management was accommodating and worked with me to ensure that I moved into the complex.Everyone is kind and helpful. I love the building. I picked the right apartment building to make home. The apartment is spacious for a city. The amenities and apartment fixtures are modern and clean. Parking is easy. Gym is state of the art. The building is decorated with a creative flare. The pool is not open but looks enjoyable. The neighborhood has food trucks, great restaurants, and close shopping. I like the building and would highly recommend. I noticed people reviewed but do not live here. I am resident. It is a great place to reside especially if you are new to the area.

    This new management team is the DREAM TEAM! Anything you need, they are there to do whatever they can to help and accommodate you. Theyā€™re always saying hello and have a positive demeanor. They put so much time and energy into cute and fun events for the building residents. They do giveaways. They really make it feel like home and fun all in one. Big thanks to Guillermo, Susanna, Jasmine, and Cameron. They are so approachable with any questions and always eager to help.And then we have my other favorite team- maintenance and housekeeping! Barry, Jose, Amis, and Elvia keep this place looking and smelling brand new. When you see them around, theyā€™re always a friendly face. Theyā€™re always working so hard! ALWAYS!     Nathalie Torres was very sweet and helpful to everyone considering the new move. She has been working very hard . Hours on hours to fulfill all of our needs. Iā€™m leaving due to relocation and she walked me through everything perfectly and made sure I had a great transition. The apartments are more secure with her being here. Any issues we have, sheā€™s on top of it. Definitely recommend Durham Heights!

    WOW!!!! I toured this community yesterday and was blown away. Durham Heights definitely has a vibe! The apartments are very high-end and the amenity spaces are gorgeous as well.The most important part of my tour yesterday was the experience the team created. Joshua, Josie, Ileana, and Melissa made the day. They were super friendly, fun, informative, professional, and to be honest I really didnt want to leave. They all went out of the way to say hi and be helpful, you can tell they are genuinely excited to see you! I was amazed and have since been raving about them to everyone who will listen.

    You want how much for a one bedroom šŸ¤£šŸ˜‚šŸ˜­šŸ™„ you are overpriced and and old . There is a new high rise close by and for a couple hundred more I get valet parking. YALL need a reality check of around $1657 . Not $2000 and change. This other place on yell is high as well I looked at . After a year in the heights the magic has worn off. Did you know the Heights has an AA group that is 75 yrs old ! Itā€™s at 2115 Lawrence at 22nd st.

    When my room mate and I moved in, we were so unsatisfied with the current management team they had in place. Brittany, the first general manager of the property was totally inefficient and unable to do her job. A couple months later we were told that a new management team would be taking over the property. Things went WAY UP after that. Guillermo has been such a bright joy and pleasure to work with. He always sees that our issues are solved and goes above and beyond to even check in with us on our minor issues to make sure we are living comfortably. 5 stars literally for Guillermo!

    I hate Iā€™m leaving but the new manager Chavonne is cool and funny ! The gate needs to be fix still but I loved the property . Susan was really nice and I wonā€™t forget the time I saw a pet pig Iā€™m assuming pet walking around. Hate to go but man the office is nice and homes are huge.
