Kellie Fuller is a wonderful manager at Allen House Apartments. She is cordial, patient, polite, and responsive to any request, big or small. Every time I stop by the office she is eager to assist, demostrating high level of competence and care. She did a fantastic job helping me find and smoothly move to an apartment when I still lived out of state. Kellies interpersonal and professional skills combined make me feel welcome and supported whenever I need anything.

This location is amazing, nice pool, and responsive maintenance team, and admin especially Kellie Fuller she went above and beyond with our concerns, and communicated effectively.The apartment is quiet & the community is respectful. This review is for the maintenance staff, and Kellie in the leasing office. The maintenance staff here is great. Theyre always attentive and respond to requests quickly, and really care about the upkeep of the property.Kellie, specifically is always a pleasure to speak to in the office. Shes one of the few people in the office that will actually follow through on what she says, and that goes a long way! If youre considering moving here, Id work with Kellie specifically.This is a great community, very quite, and everyone is extremely nice. Great neighborhood.

I love this location and this apartment. The property management team is overall pretty attentive; however, I had an incident with water seepage that took a long time to fix. Now that it is fixed, I am super thrilled to be making a home here. While the issue was ongoing, the property management team did make themselves available when I contacted them, so it’s a great sign that they held themselves accountable and followed up on the issue, but it was a difficult time when the seeage was ongoing. They have provided a solution that works and followed up further by sending someone to check in on my unit. The maintenance manager also let me know that if the solution wasn’t enough they had other plans in place, which I was happy to hear, but thankfully, no more seepage issue. I was waiting to be certain of the solution before I posted so this POSITIVE 🙌 review is overdue. I think this is a great place to live. 💛

I have lived at this apartment complex for 1 year, and am in the process of renewing for another. I love living here. The building is a bit on the older side, but it has a ton of character. My unit had just been renovated when I moved in, and its really spacious and well-distributed. You cant beat the location. Right between the Heights and Montrose, theres so many things to do nearby. The amenities are good (especially for the price); two pools and a bunch of grills are awesome, but the gym is small and has little weights equipment. The staff is probably the highlight of this complex. Maintenance is always super friendly, and things get taken care of quickly. Plus, management (specifically, Kristie and Leon) has been very attentive and professional, helping me through the leasing process very well. Overall, an easy recommendation from me!

This is my 2nd year living at Allen House and I couldnt be more pleased with my decision to live here. The management really cares about the property and the tenants, which is a rare thing in such an affordable community these days. The recent hire of manager Kellie Fuller shows their commitment to having excellent leadership on our property.The location is amazing, the neighbors (for the most part) are considerate and cordial. Though the buildings are old, the maintenance team (lead by the super responsive and friendly R.J.) are very quick to solve any problem ASAP.We had minimal damage during the floods, tornados, and hurricanes of 2024. Our electricity did go out for a few days, but was restored much faster than other parts of the city and our property didnt flood - I feel very safe here.It is an established property, so there are challenges - i.e. some plumbing issues and things that need to be addressed. But now since we have had Kellie in place things are getting done!Highly recommend living here!

My daughter and I moved in here in October. I love the environment and how quiet it is. Everyone is friendly including staff! One major concern I have is the hot water and how hot it gets. There is no in between from scalding to cold. I’m afraid for my daughter to accidentally burn herself while showering. Other than that I love the place and it is very pet friendly as well!

Its been almost 2 years since I started living at this apartment complex. Overall, I genuinely enjoy living here. The community, the leasing office agents, maintenance team, and overall environment are wonderful. I specifically would like to thank Leon, the leasing consultant, who has been very caring and is always there to resolve any issues I have with the apartment. Leon consistently went above and beyond expectations, ensuring that every aspect of my living experience is positive. Highly recommend!

Carlos is amazing. I’ve shown up three times with 21 questions about an upcoming lease. He always has the answers, he’s super patient and kind and a general pleasure to work with. The property is older but the residents seem happy and the facilities are super clean. Maintenance staff has been on property for 20 or so years which is excellent! Everything I’ve needed or asked for, Carlos has done his very best to accommodate. I’m pretty sure this will be home. ♥️Updated Review: Ive lived here in the complex since 2021 and have loved every moment here. Life has brought some new opportunities and I sadly have to leave the property. Kellie has been an absolute jewel. The team was so helpful when I needed to transfer to a new unit in a hurry... and now they are helping to make my last couple of months and exit super smooth. Thank you Kellie, and thank you to the rest of the Windsor team. I loved my stay here.

While I was never a resident here, my boyfriend lived here for about 2 years and I was a frequent visitor, so between my visits and his insights living here, I feel that I have enough to write a review.I will start with the pros: great location, good safety measures (need a fob to get in the parking lot and through front gate), nice pool, units are well insulated and the shaded courtyard also helps cut down on electricity costs, lovely courtyard, staff pretty easy to deal with, sometimes fun events for residents, and all for relatively affordable rent.The cons are that it is somewhat rundown. The kitchen cabinets never really closed all the way, the bathroom door was off its hinges for a while until we fixed it with epoxy. I also found it very, very dark. Unless you’re on a corner unit it’s just very hard to get much natural light in since there’s only room for two windows. I found this somewhat depressing. We also dealt with bugs a lot. We are very clean people, but had to spray all the time for them. And even then we would still find random bugs every now and then. I think it’s just a matter of it being an older building.Some other things that got on our nerves was the lack of consideration when it came to the laundry. We had some of our pillowcases ruined because someone else used a TON of bleach before us. And some people would just leave their laundry sitting in a machine for hours and hours on busy days. But that just comes with it being a bigger building, lots of residents who don’t know each other and don’t care.The other thing that constantly irked me is that the front visitor lot is very poorly marked. Every day there were people coming in the exit and trying to exit through the entrance. It’s honestly a wonder I never got in a fender bender there.Despite all my grievances I would still give this place 4 stars. I think all you get (location, amenities, square feet, security) for the rent is pretty good. If you can handle all the issues that come with an older, bigger complex then go for it.

Allen house is located in a very nice neighborhood, full of boutiques, restaurants, bookstores etc... there is also the Buffalo bayou with nice places to visit or just for a walk.The construction of Allen House is very beautiful, it has a lot of charm and personality. The apartments are spacious although unfortunately not very bright. Regrettably, the buildings, apartments and common areas have been deteriorating, receiving little maintenance. In the patios there are almost no green spaces, which would be essential and would also contribute to the charm of the buildings, especially where the gazebos and the pool areas are as shown in the photographs. In the apartment hallways tenants should not be allowed to place lounge chairs and tables for them to ‘hangout’ - it is both an obstruction, a fire hazard and a nuisance to the rest of the neighbors, and it makes the whole structure seem like a tenement building. Otherwise everything is more or less acceptable and it is worth living here!

I’ve lived at Allen House Apartments for almost a year now so I feel like I can now provide an honest review. Built in 1974, the property is in a safe neighborhood in North Montrose/River Oaks area near the Buffalo Bayou Park and trails, only about 10 minutes from downtown. It is also close to all the shopping and eating options one could ever want.Now, because it is an older (and more affordable) property you can’t expect brand new appliances and upscale features. That being said, there are many cute built-in shelves and such inside the units, the courtyards and pools offer an abundance of cozy charm and plenty of community grills and outdoors space. The staff in the leasing office are all very considerate and responsive, always happy to help when something is needed, especially Leon and Braxton.What matters most is that when there is a maintenance emergency due to outdated fixtures and what not, someone is sent rather quickly. I had a water leak before 6 am and someone was there to assist within 15 minutes and the issue was entirely resolved by early afternoon. Israel is an expert at his trade, and I trust him in my home anytime.It is a very pet-friendly community, and the area is safe to walk the pups with many stations for poop bagging and disposal. The staff at Allen House seem to truly welcome and care for our pets, almost as much as we do!

I was so impressed with Kellie Fuller. How she managed and pay attention to your needs. She found a way to find solutions as fast as she could. It’s so important being nice, it makes you feel like you are somebody in the complex.

Its an older apartment building so it does have some dated designs and old pipes. Amenities are lack luster compared to newer luxury apartments, however it is more affordable and in a prime location, close midtown, down town, Montrose, River oaks, and Buffalo bayou.What I like the most is the staff. I was out of town and had my neighbor watching my pet. However, the key snapped and rendered the lock stuck, locking my neighbor out and my pet in. I contacted the office and explained my situation to the staff. The Leon and Israel were there to help me and accommodated my situation, replacing my lock and gave the new keys to my neighbor with my consent on the same day. They even checked on my pet to make sure it was ok. It was a huge relief to me that both management and maintenance are there to provide excellent service, even when Im not in town.

Both apartments I lived here were such great places, I recommend it if you are looking for someplace low budget and located near the city, then this is a great location to start with.

This property is truly a hidden gem in river oaks. I stopped by for a tour and Leon the leasing consultant was AMAZING. I didn’t have a tour schedule, but he was very kind with assisting me and showing me around. I truly felt welcome and right at home. If you do visit ask for Leon he will honestly take care of you!!

Allen House is the best place I’ve lived in Houston. It is a beautiful place with spacious and well-maintained apartments, a great location, and a great price. The interior garden with its vintage fountains and covered by big trees is an alluring scene to look at every day. The complex is located in Montrose —an amazing neighborhood— and is next to Buffalo Bayou Park and the Allen Parkway —very convenient if you work at Downtown or need to have access to the freeway.On top of that, they have a helpful, caring, and highly efficient staff. Maintenance requests are attended to immediately and with great attention. I need to give a shoutout to Leon from the leasing staff for his great commitment to the place and the residents. He is a very sweet person.I end up saying that if I ever come back to Houston, I would highly consider living in Allen House again.

I love living in Allen House. The community is really friendly and the leasing office is always responsive. Their maintenance staff is also really professional and quick to respond. The only reason Im giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because of the really bad bug problem I had upon move in. They handled it pretty quickly (or to the best of their ability) but there still is no way they actually did any pretreatment before I moved in. Please AH do pest control before a tenant moves in, not afterwards. Other than that, a great place to live.

Maintenance requests are always responded to within 24 hours. Staff is very responsive and takes all concerns very seriously. They are always super friendly. I appreciate that they will drop off all packages in your home if requested if you are not able to make it to the office by the time they close at 6 pm. Ive never had any issues, and most people are very quiet and respectful. Theres usually room by the pool, even on weekends. The amenities are not as up to date as what you can get at a newer apartment, but I think itd be hard to beat the quality and central location of these apartments within the same price point. For me, being in the loop but within my budget is more important. I hardly ever need to get on a highway in Houston at all unless Im leaving town, and the apartments are a very short walk away from buffalo bayou, which makes caring for a hyper 2 year old lab mix a lot easier while living in an apartment. The only things that could be improved are mostly with other tenants not picking up after their dogs, but again, theres not too many issues. Be careful walking in the grass out front, even though the property does provide free doggie bags in several locations (some people are just lazy).

I love living at Allen House! The location is close to everything in the inner loop! You can walk to restaurants and stores because it’s so close! Also, the property is super clean and the maintenance is 10/10! The leasing staff is awesome and always super sweet. They will help you with everything you need! They’re super responsive and pretty much will resolve your issues the same day! Love it here!

I have nothing but positive things to say about living here. Its nothing fancy or new, but I wasnt looking for any of that when I signed a lease. Its spacious and for the area, the price is (in my opinion) extremely fair. I have a 2/2 that is more than enough space for 2 people. Maintenance staff and management have always been very professional and courteous. The complex isnt noisy, although walls are thin since its older so noise travels more than I was used to. However, Ive never had any issues with parties, extremely noisy neighbors, etc. and we face the interior, pool-side of the apartments. Residents have always been friendly and Ive never felt unsafe here -safety was a huge must for me when searching for an apartment. Its also very close to the bayou so if youre a runner or biker, this is perfect.

Excellent place to live if you want to be in downtown area. This place is kind of a hidden gem. It’s an old community , but very well maintained. The staff is awesome , friendly and helpful. The maintenance staff is excellent. Very proactive. Amy- the manager is awesome and so easy to work with. She understands your concerns, and willing to work with you. We have lived in many other apartments, snd She is one of the the best managers I have come across. Also special mention to Roy, Israel, JT- the maintenance staff who have been there long time and very efficient. I have nothing but positive things to say about living here. The apartments are so spacious with awesome built-ins and although they are older everything is in great shape. I get so many compliments on my apartment from friends and family. The staff is so courteous and helpful; and so quick to respond if anything in my apartment needs attention. The only con is that the walls are thin and my upstairs neighbors are noisy but that is something I can deal with. Altogether it is a great place to live in an awesome location!

I love living at Allen House. It’s so close to everything. The staff are all so nice. They try go out of their way to help you. Especially the property manager Ms. Amy Leblanc. She is awesome and she does a great job in helping you in any way she can. I highly recommend Allen House a place to live. They are always having some fun stuff for their tenants which I find very nice. It’s so quiet and I feel safe living here. They respond to the maintenance request very fast. I have lived in Allen House a little over a little over a year. The maintenance staff is wonderfully responsive, and the management is thoughtful. Recently, they facilitated our move from a second-floor to a first-floor apartment. We really appreciated their consideration, especially during these difficult times when customer service is often less than prrsonal.

Pretty good price for the area, and great location, but still a little steep, especially considering there is often a lot of maintenance issues, specifically with the water being shut off (though it has been better this year compared to last year- it is still highly inconvenient) and it is difficult to get maintenance to take care of things. Have been here since November 2020, and this is from living in two different units!

I love it here, especially on the courtyard side. The courtyard is reminiscent of New Orleans--lush, with a fountain in each corner. Poolside has grills available.Repair requests are made online, and I have had a quick response to my requests.Great location; not fancy; diverse tenant population. With all the construction on W. Dallas, this place will probably come down in 2017 or so. :(

I had a great experience here during the summer of 2013. The office staff worked with my schedule for moving in and out. Like others have noted, it is an older building but they work to keep things updated and in working order. The price reflected that. Its a great location. The pool is great. Would spend another summer here for sure.

Ive lived at the Allen House for about a year and a half, since moving back from Austin Texas. While I greatly prefer Austin over Houston, living inside the loop and 5 minutes away from both the Washington strip, Midtown, and downtown is a great place to be. Youre literally minutes away from anything you could want to do inside the loop. The complex itself is an older building, but many of the room have been recently renovated. Im able to afford a two bedroom apartment living alone, which would be near impossible in most other newer complexes in the area. Staff have always been swift to respond to any issues, and are overall quite friendly. They also, from time to time, have a nice referral move in bonus. It is the best place to live, price, location, space, the management team is Excellent, very friendly above all, Leon has a lot of human quality, he is always ready to resolve any concern. I highly recommend Allen House. The building is old but very well preserved, the apartments are large and spacious.
