    I’ve lived at 5 Mockingbird for an entire year now, and here’s my honest take:Cons• Size and Age: The complex is huge, and while the cleaning staff does an excellent job, the property shows its age in some areas.• Foot Traffic: Being next to a public transit hub means a lot of activity, including residents and sometimes homeless individuals. While I’ve never had issues personally, single women may find walking to the Dart or Kroger at night a bit unsettling.I have had friends have their cars broken into even though there is security patrol most of the nights but I’ve accepted that this is a common problem when living in the city.• Balconies: They are on the smaller side, which limits their functionality.Pros• Amazing Staff: Iliana, Kim, and Tiffany are incredibly helpful and patient, always ensuring residents feel heard and taken care of. A huge shoutout to Eladio from the maintenance team, who is prompt, reliable, and truly wonderful!• Competitive Pricing: For the location and amenities, 5 Mockingbird offers unbeatable value.• Great Amenities:• Two swimming pools.• Multiple courtyards for studying or relaxing.• Remote workspaces above the lobby.• Free cold brew and coffee machines—lifesavers that save me money every week.The gym is comparable to other older apartments but the equipment gets used often and needs to be replaced frequently.• Safety and Communication: The complex is well-monitored, with regular police presence, and management is quick to address any issues, often communicating directly with residents via email.• Location, Location, Location: You can walk to the Dart station, movie theater, Kroger, SMU games, and local gems like Shug’s Bagels. There is a walking trail that leads to Glencoe park, Katy Trail, White Rock Lake and more! Plus, you’re just one exit away from NorthPark Mall.Final ThoughtsWhile it’s a large complex with some minor challenges, the staff, amenities, and prime location make 5 Mockingbird a fantastic place to live in Dallas. I highly recommend it, especially if convenience and value are your priorities!

    When our family was planning to rent an apartment to live in, we met Iliana Webber, the staff of this apartment. She was very welcoming and professional. She was very diligent in introducing us to the facilities of this apartment and the room we liked. Our family really likes her and the house she introduced, so we recently moved in. We also really like the manager here. She often greets the residents with a smile. We like her smile. One shortcoming is that I dont know why the valet trash service cannot be disposed of in a timely manner as agreed.

    Great location and wonderful staff! Truly the best apartment complex I have ever lived in! The price is hard to beat, you are walking distance from amazing restaurants and stores as well as a major dart station and a grocery store, and I have never met a nicer group of staff. The day I picked up my keys, the office manager dropped everything to walk me to my apartment and give a quick tour, as well as helped me figure out my way around the complex. Where else are you going to get service like that?

    The women in the front office Iliana, Tiffany, and Kim are amazing. This complex wouldn’t be the same without them. Since the day my roomate and I came searching for an apartment they have gone above and beyond to help us and meet us with kindness.

    It was wonderful to work with Kim over the course of my rental search. At our initial conversation, she listened carefully to my long wish list, she showed me several apartments and I instantly liked one. She helped me through the application process and I was able to get the apartment I wanted quickly and painlessly. She was extremely responsive and provided me with comprehensive responses to all my questions. She was very helpful through the entire process. Kim is great to work with, I am very happy with my rental choice at 5Mockingbird Apartments.

    Ive lived here 12 years and have been through three management companies. Greystar is truly making an effort to improve every aspect of this community. The new renovations are incredible. Office staff is friendly. Maintenence is a 10. I feel safe here. Location is perfect. Highly recommended!!

    I wanted to share with everyone that 5 Mockingbird Apartments in Dallas is an awesome community and has an amazing staff. I work for HD Supply and they are one of my customers and Karina the Community Director and her staff are always working with me to get the parts and service items they need to take care of their tenants and residents in a fast and timely manner.     Great Handyman Service (Eladio Hermandez)My window broke in the evening, I put the work order right after that and on the next day at 9am Eladio came and fixed it in the master of minutes. Great guy and does his job exceptionally well.The apartment complex has things to work on, most of which mentioned in the other comments. With that said, it is my third work order and all of them were addressed swiftly.

    There will always be ups and downs with apartment living. With that being said, this has been the best apartment living experience I’ve had in all my years in Dallas. Yes, it’s noisy, but it’s the city!! The office staff is the most enjoyable. They are always willing and ready to assist. There is TWO coffee bars for residents- one is a cold brew! That’s awesome. The property is so well kept. And grounds are very well taken care of. The location is very desirable being that you have Lower Greenville, Mockingbird Station, SMU Campus with a great park AND you can walk to Kroger and 7-11.I’ve been here a few months and already ready to renew! Thank you again to the staff for being genuine!

    We signed our lease with 5 Mockingbird without being able to tour in person and were pleasantly surprised. The front desk staff is helpful. Alex, Eddie and Diana are all really sweet and helpful. The amenities are nice. The on-level parking is great.A couple months into our lease we returned from our honeymoon and had $800 of clothing, wedding gifts, home goods, kitchen appliances, and donations stolen from our car parked in the garage overnight. If you live here, please make sure you lock your car and bring literally everything of any possible value inside. I am obsessed with locking my car and somehow the one time my car had one unlocked door, we lost almost everything inside. I thought criminals wanted electronics, not used clothing, Texas shaped waffle makers and personalized Bibles. Who knows?The front desk staff was helpful in finding the security footage for our police report. Unfortunately the security cameras weren’t able to identify the culprit because they had paper plates on their car. Thankfully the insurance 5 Mockingbird suggests you buy helped recoup a majority of the costs. However, theft can and does happen here- great place to live, but be so so CAUTIOUS. I overlooked reviews about theft and thought “ok I’ll be careful and cautious”- but really- you need to be REALLY cautious.

    My apartment flooded from the dallas snow apocalypse causing broken pipes. From the news it sounds like there were tens of thousands of breaks. It was more than frustrating but the management team worked with me and got my unit cleaned up quickly. The maintenance team worked overnight for two days to get my apartment fixed. I can’t thank them enough for their communication and hard work with me.The reviews prior to me about no communication is definitely inaccurate.....check your spam or make sure they have your contact info because I have been getting a lot of updates.

    I guess I got lucky with my apartment location and people at the office:) My experience has been great. I have lived here for 2.5 years and have never had a problem with maintenance or security. I live on the first floor on the East side, I didnt even know there was a loud gym somewhere... The alarm did go off a couple of times in the middle of the night last year but we received an e-mail immediately explaining what happened, and that they are fixing it. The alarm was annoying but it happened only twice and hasnt go off for almost a year, Im assuming it has been fixed. Minor maintenance requests were taken care of the same day. Garage is not a problem for me at all either... I dont have a reserved spot but almost always can find a spot on the first floor unless I come home after midnight:) I never see homeless people around the apartment building, only at Mockingbird Station.Anyways, I read all the bad reviews and decided to share my experience. I would recommend this place to my friends: rent is reasonable, location is fantastic (uber costs $4-5 to get anywhere uptown), Kroger is open till 1am and walking distance from the building, restaurants and shops at Mockingbird Station are 5 min walk from the building... make sure you pick the apartment on the East side with windows facing the backyard, and clean up after yourself and your dog:)

    Can’t say enough great things about this property! Kimberly Luna is fantastic and answered any questions we had! Maintenance works so hard to keep everything up. Overall great place to live and location is hard to beat. Highly recommend!

    Ariel, Eddie and Ray are the three individuals that youll see on the regular at the leasing office that keep it my experience here legit. If you do plan on living here, I highly recommend befriending them because theyre cool AF and make life so much easier.The maintenance requests get completed promptly and the folks that are employed here are delightful. I have mixed feelings about management and the limited, sometimes unpleasant interactions Ive had with them. But everyone else here is great and they are the reason I keep staying here hands down.

    I’ve been a resident here since February of 2020 and it’s been a wonderful experience, especially during the pandemic. They’ve been nothing but accommodating and resourceful. The office staff is so friendly and kind and I always look forward to seeing the maintenance staff every morning when walking my dog. Honestly the nicest people who always brighten my day. I’ve had no issues and love living at 5 Mockingbird.

    I was really bummed out about the murals being painted over, but I love living here. I was looking for the right place to lease for a while and Ray really helped my roommates and I feel at home here. He was really welcoming and informative which definitely helped make my decision to live here. The unit I live in is very spacious and the apartment is so close to many restaurants and grocery stores. And its pretty awesome that Kroger and Mockingbird Station is a short walk away. Overall, I think this is a great place to live.

    Moving here was bar far the best decision I’ve ever made. I felt so welcomed by Karina. She is attentive, caring and assisted me with my move in. Any issues I had she was always there with a solution. All the staff members are extremely helpful, and always willing to lend a helping hand.

    I live on the first floor and I have no intention of moving. Staff is responsive if you need something. Yes the fire alarms have gone off in the past, they acknowledged and said theyre fixing which they did which is better than them not saying or doing anything. So far I have not heard them go off anymore. Its quiet 98% of the time the other 2% is bc of people outside but once again I live facing the street on first floor so that is expected. Nice location. Kroger is right behind it. Rent is very reasonable for this area which is a major plus esp since I moved frm downtown. I will continue to stay in my 1st floor apartment as long as I can. I recommend to anyone moving here.

    Can’t say enough great things about this property! All the staff is so friendly and accomadating. Manager Karina and Asst manager Sabrina are fantastic and handle everything the way things should be done! Maintenance works so hard to keep everything up. Overall great place to live and location is hard to beat. Highly recommend!

    Before I begin this review I should provide the context that Ive previously lived in 5 different apartment homes and one rental house, so Ive experienced a handful of different circumstances over the past several years.My experience at 5 Mockingbird has been without a doubt the best experience Ive had living at an apartment home. Ive also lived here for two years, which is the longest Ive lived in one apartment at a time.There are two reasons I believe this:#1: The value for the money (rent): The location is amazing, its right in front of Mockingbird Station, and for those who work Downtown and use public transit like me, this is a tremendous value. Its also next door to a grocery store and gas station, so I can literally cross the parking lot and buy groceries or re-fuel my vehicle.Theres also a movie theater and several other venues within walking distance you can visit for dinner/drinks. Not to mention, you can easily access Katy trail to run or bike downtown.In addition to all of this, the amenities here are amazing! They just renovated the entire property, so brand new appliances, included washer dryer, and they have a decent sized gym, which I use nearly everyday. They have a huge business lounge I use for meetings or other remote work-related matters. Theres also a rooftop outdoor terrace with an awesome view!The property is also located right off highway 75 for quick access to the Dallas highway system for travel.I still feel like Im still scratching the surface though...#2 The staff is courteous and professional: Ray and Eddie have been in the office since I first moved in and are probably the reason why Ive signed my third lease here. Lets face it, things go wrong and break every now and again, especially when you have a structure as big and as old as 5 Mockingbird. I have never lived in an apartment home where something didnt need attention or assistance from the office at least once.What really separates the staff at 5 Mockingbird is their extreme attention to detail when you need something. They have always come through to help when Ive needed something.All in all, I am extremely happy with my experience with 5 Mockingbird and this review is way overdue (two years!)

Since last October when Grey Star took over have to say i still ENJOY their service.     Lived here the past year and just signed for another! Management and grounds crew are always friendly and helpful, courtyard areas and pools are nice to hangout in and you cant beat the location. Fire alarms were obnoxious last summer but *fingers crossed* they seemed to have gotten that worked out since so seldom have they gone off. Regarding security and location, as a young working women, I have never felt unsafe here. Dallas is an urban city and with that you should expect the urbanites that come with it. With that being said, I dont own a car and use the train daily, walk to and from all around the block and to shops in this area- and have had zero issues with safety at anytime of day, even coming in from a late night on the town.All in all for the price, location, amenities of the complex and surrounding area, I definitely would recommend living here!

    Ive been here 1 year and am renewing my lease. Heres whats good 1. Location is perfect - 5 minutes to downtown, 10 minutes to white rock lake, next to mockingbird station (restaurants, shopping & complete access to public transportation). 2. maintenance staff is top notch - lightning fast response whether big or small, thorough & professional 3. the property - clean, well kept, safe, well designed and landscaped 4. amenities - gym, 2 pools, 2 dog parks, club lounge (with TVs, quiet workspaces, computers, pool table, shuffle board & kitchen) and the rooftop deck with fire pits, grills and skyline view. 5. the front office - hot chocolate and specialty coffees on demand and the friendliest and most accommodating staff you could ask for - Ariel helps me with anything I ask for (and I may ask for a lot) regardless how busy she may be making me feel welcome and supported every time which is invaluable after moving to a new city alone. Ray got me into the perfect unit for me because he took the time to understand what I wanted and Eddie always greets everyone with a big smile and enthusiasm. Its a terrific team :-) They also host resident events which are always generous and fun! The bad - well, maybe get a PC in the club lounge instead of all apple ;-) thats it. hahaha. and just as a note to some of the other reviews - I have heard the fire alarm twice in a year and had a water shutoff maybe 3-4 times in the year but was given notice, it was short and sometimes didnt affect my side of the complex at all.

    Ariel is a GEM! She has gone Above and beyond as well has been super communicative during the leasing process. We move in within the month and it was so comferting having her by our side helping my boyfriend and I find our new place to call home after months of searching diffrent properties.     I visited 5 Mockingbird Apartments this past weekend with my boyfriend and my parents. My boyfriend and I are going to be new to the City and we got multiple suggestions to look into this property. Upon arrival we were pleasantly greeted by Ray. Ray was AMAZING, he was full of energy, very informative, and clearly very excited about all of the new renovations and projects that are going on at 5 Mockingbird apartments. Th property was immaculate, the floor plans were spacious, and Ray was THE MOST helpful person Ive ever encountered. Not only did he ensure that all of my questions about the apartment were thoroughly answered, but he was invested in making sure my boyfriend and I were enlightened about our new city. He wrote us a list of restaurants that we needed to try, cool bars, and random events going on in the city. Ray is clearly so well connected and immersed in the city, he got us SO exited about our move. Ray is greattttt!

    I have had the most amazing experience working with Ray at 5 Mockingbird apartments. I am a first time renter and he was so patient and helpful walking me through the process.     The leasing agents at this place are cool AF. I took a tour and signed my lease the same day. They’re doing tons of renavations. Also good parking. Kroger is hopin errr day. Wine down Wednesday’s are the only thing motivating me to get out of bed. Resident events are the best!Ariel is the best. 100% the only reason I pay my rent.

    Ive lived here just over a month, and enjoying it so far! Great leasing staff all around; Eddie, Alex, and Diana are all very helpful, and Bill and Amanda give quick responses! The apt unit itself is nice with cool finishes and design. No issues with bugs that Ive seen, and the courtyard I live next to has been quiet, which I appreciate. I havent had any issues with noisy neighbors, and maintenance staff has been quick to address any issues. Great location as well, and the ability to walk next door to Kroger is priceless.

    5 Mockingbird is a great community in a prime location. The amenities are great. Especially the resort style pools.
