I previously reviewed my positive experience regarding my 2001 7.3 diesel maintenance by Gunter’s Specialty in Valley Mills. I had a lot of major maintenance done by Jody and his crew, and it was professionally and expertly done! However, I now want to review Gunter’s work on my wife’s ‘99 V6 Ford Explorer. In short, I bought this SUV with 155,000 miles on it. I took it to Jody & crew, and he looked it over thoroughly, tested it, & let me know what needed to be spent on it to make it 100% reliable. I agreed on the work & parts replacements, and 2 weeks later we received a 25 year old SUV that was “bulletproofed” as much as it could be. We are EXTREMELY SATISFIED with the excellent service that we received. Worth every penny!!

Jody, the owner and Master Ford Diesel Mechanic at Gunter Specialty, is very knowledgeable and experienced with 99-03 7.3 Powerstrokes. My 2001 F250 was needing some maintenance at 237,000 miles. After thorough examination of my truck, Jody sat down with me and made a list of things HE would do to make my truck better and last longer. I agreed on the cost of the maintenance, and left it in his hands. Two weeks later, and many new parts installed (Including a new set of fuel injectors and turbo), and the engine was running like a sewing machine, like I just drove it off the lot in 2001! More power, better fuel mileage, less engine knocks, and better throttle response (and the engine is stock, with the exception of a S&B air filter and straight pipe 4”exhaust). I HIGHLY recommend Jody and his crew for all your 7.3 maintenance!

Very knowledgeable and honest. I have owned all 3 brands of diesel trucks and he is the ONLY mechanic i have ever let touch my trucks. I could not trust him more with a very expensive piece of machinery. You will NOT be disappointed with Jody and his incredible staff. His work is amazing and he is also honest enough to tell you of repairs you may not need. I have never had a bad repair from his shop and I have NEVER been disappointed in his work or his communication.

We trusted Gunter specialty With our 2010 F250 6.4The truck arrived at the shop with major blow by and a hole in the piston. It left the shop running perfectly, everything Gunter touched on the truck looks absolutely factory and professionally done.We’ve used other diesel shops in the past and always left with a feeling of I hope I’m not bringing this thing back.We feel very confident in the work that was performed and we will definitely continue bringing our other diesels to Gunter specialty.

Quality work and respectable people. Had a lower oil pan leak on my 12 F-350 and they fixed it the right way. I would absolutely recommend GS to anyone looking for Ford repairs.

This is by far the best mechanic shop I have ever done business with Jody is very knowledgeable and diesel mechanics and his whole staff is very friendly and knowledgeable. If it is diesel issues, Jody can fix it.

My truck had very low oil pressure until it warmed up. Took it to the Chevy dealer, they hooked it up to the computer to look for a reason, but were unable to identify the problem. I was referred to Gunter in Valley Mills by a friend so I wanted to give them a try. They were upfront and honest with me, kept me informed of their progress, and were able to fix the issue.Thanks, Gunter Speciality, for the help!!
