We had an absolute blast this week! Thank you, Katie and team for making sure we had everything we needed!! The tipi was so cozy, the mattresses were so comfortable, we slept so hard! The individual grills, the fire pit setup for each tipi, and the private bathroom all added to the experience in such an awesome way!Having private river access is huge when it comes to tourist spots so we were extra grateful for the space!Thank you again! We can’t wait to come back in the summer!!

We had a great time. We had everything we needed to make do with cooking, etc. (Maybe a can opener. I think that was the only utensil Id recommend adding) I think it was an excellent affordable choice to accommodate 6 people in one unit. And the location is great bc you can choose to go to New Braunfels or Canyon Lake easily either way.The bathrooms were nice. I just cant read apparently and glazed over the part in the email about how to use the shower. The fixture is backwards from the actual hot and cold. So my first shower was a little too cool for my taste lol. But I figured it out. Lol. The water pressure was absolutely fine in the shower. I only noticed it being low on the toilet.A few things based on other reviews:The river is NOT far from the site. Theres a little trail, but it only takes a couple minutes to walk. The way back is all uphill, as expected with the landscape of a river, so be prepared to work a little leg. Haha. But no big deal though.Someone said dont expect crisp hotel sheets idk why you would. But I much prefer the eclectic feeling of having a different set on each bed. It felt homey and cute. Plus there was a fun moment of playing which one did you get when we first got there.Someone also said number 8 might be the best scenery I disagree if you dont want direct sunlight. We loved the shade offered at number 4. Number 5 would be good for that as well.My only grievance and the reason for the 4 stars instead of 5: other guests. Our neighbors were nice enough when we chatted with them. But it seemed like they thought they were the only ones there. First thing we did when arriving was go check out the river. Couldnt really try out the swing bc they had their belongings spread across it even though they were in the water. They also decided the ping pong area was a good place to cook and had food items across the whole thing all evening. Then, although there was a posting on the door about quiet hours, they were up well past that partying outside and we could hear them from across the campsite, as we were at 4 and they were at 8.The tipis are definitely not soundproof. Absolutely not this properties fault, but I suppose the neighboring resort has their dumpsters emptied at 7 am and it is very very loud.I mean you cant really expect a tipi to be soundproof. Just stating this so people are aware if its going to really bother you. I probably needed to wake up anyway, bc as others have added, its so dark without the lights on, you absolutely dont know the time of day and could sleep your vacation away in one of these tents.Overall good experience. I would definitely do it again.

This has been our second time here at the Tipis on the Guadalupe, and we absolutely love it ! Our first stay about 2 years ago in the rising moon tipi, and during this trip stayed in the Hunka Hunka Cabin ♡ it was so adorable 2 bedrooms and a mini kitchen with a cute retro fridge ! Along with easy access to the river ! We will be returning back soon. ♡ thank you for accommodating our needs and being very responsive ! And the little deck in the back of the cabin was the best for star gazing ♡ ( There were no coffee filters, but nothing a quick trip to the nearby stores couldnt fix ! & we even left some for the next guests ♡)

Cool place for some “glamping”. We have been coming here for years, and it has changed ownership several times I believe. Good access to the river which is what we primarily like. Also the set up in Tipi #2 is three queen beds which fits my family of five very well. Each tipi has a small kitchenette and is air-conditioned. The AC works very well, and the insulation is good. Between that, and the fact that they have no windows, it is like a dark cave inside, and we always feel like we get the best sleep! There are two, detached, bathroom facilities for the campsite. Each houses four private shower and toilet facilities for each individual tipi, so, even though it is detached, you do have your own private bathroom. It is locked with the same code that opens your door. They are also air-conditioned and have tankless hot water heaters. It’s been about two years since we were here last, and since then it appears the ownership has changed again. There are some cosmetic upgrades that have been made with bright colored fencing. Also more permanent style barbecue grills have been added to each campsite (used to be rolling grills). It also seems that the mattresses have been changed(at least in our unit) to memory foam type mattresses, and they are fairly comfortable. The biggest change, and one that is somewhat unfortunate, is that the lofted common area has been converted to an additional room for rent called “La Pluma”. The loft area used to be a neat, air-conditioned place to hang out and play board games and watch TV with the family. It was open to anyone staying at the campsite. Now it is private and for rent. I suspect this was an economic decision, but it’s unfortunate as it changes the vibe of the camp a little bit.Similarly, there used to be a small bit of land downstream on the river that was also included as part of the campground. You could put your tube in at the tipi area, and float down for a bit and get out downstream at this additional portion of land. Now that portion of land has also been likely sold and is currently built out with units available for rent. Things change I guess, but it was a cool feature of this place that no longer exists. All in all still a good place to visit. It does look like the current ownership has put a little money into renovating things, as last time we were here it was certainly a little bit more rundown. Definitely not the four seasons, but it’s a unique place to spend a few days while on the river.

I think its a fun little experience to have with kids, family or friends. Tipi is very insulated whether hot or cold out. People are very nice. Own private bathrooms and everything is key coded for privacy.

A last minute trip, going just before Christmas, 12/19/21. It was beautiful weather and only us and one other family. It made for a quiet and relaxing stay. The kids enjoyed playing ping pong, corn husk toss and the campfire at night. The tipi was spacious and clean. We did not cook during our stay but rather ate out. There are restaurants and fast food options about 20 minutes away. The kitchenette has cups, plates, silverware and a knife. The walk to the river is pleasant. Not far at all. We have older children. It may be a slower pace walk with younger children. The bathroom was very clean and towels are provided. Only a few towels so you may want to bring additional towels and washcloths. If it’s a rainy time, bring rain boots. As the roads are sturdy but it’s the country and the grounds around the tipis are dirt. The grounds were well kept-no trash. It’s a beautiful clean property. While the bathroom is separate, it’s very close to the tipi. Only a few steps away. Bathroom is clean. Cold in the cooler temperatures. We brought an extra rug to put on the tile floor to help with the cold temperatures. There is a note to limit time in shower to allow hot water for everyone. Fortunately, it was only us and one other family. Plenty of hot water for our stay. The tipis are closer together than I expected, so during busy summer season, keep that in mind. If the other families are quiet, great, if not, it could potentially be a problem. The 3 beds were comfortable and linens were clean and fresh smelling. We did not watch TV during our stay. It’s very dark in the Tipi at night. May want to bring a nightlight. There are no windows.Overall a great experience! Our favorite was having a campfire at night. We brought our own wood and lighter. We all had a nice time.

  • Review 7 (2020-11-27 - Rating: 5)

We were beyond thrilled with our recent visit to the Tipis. They are clean, spacious and comfortable and the private bathroom with large tiled walk-in shower is nice enough for the most selective “glamper”. The staff was friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back.

  • Review 8 (2021-06-28 - Rating: 4)

What a beautiful little place on the river. With a private path down to the river & a couple of spots to sit, this is a nice place to kick back and relax. We stayed in tipi #5. I really dig the individually assigned bathrooms, as you can lock up your toiletries & clothing inside & not carry back & forth. They had plenty of towels, it was very clean & the shower had amazing pressure. The tipi was very spacious with plenty of tools to cook up a meal & mini fridge to keep drinks cold. Three beds perfectly spaced with full fresh bedding. Youre in Texas, so check for spiders before snuggling in for the night. I had to escort one out. Lights out at night means its black & peaceful. The A/C is very cool, but we didnt realize you could adjust the vent until we were leaving.Since it was raining, we didnt use the outside space in front of the tipi, but its very nice & relaxing. Next time.*notesThere are clean sheets, a light comforter & pillows. They have an extra blanket, but you might want to pack your own if you sleep next to the A/C.There is a 2 burner hot plate & 2 skillets. No microwave. A toaster oven may work for you but I didnt see any dishes that would fit inside. You have a code to unlock your bathroom and tipi, which means you dont lose keys in the river 👍We look forward to the next visit. Thank you so much for fresh linens and a clean place to stay.

  • Review 9 (2020-12-02 - Rating: 4)

Ok so here is my long review. TL;DR its a good spot if a tad noisy. My family of 4 elected to visit here for 2 nights. Upon arrival we got settled in. I would recommend folks consider bringing their own bedding or blankets as you will get clean linen but its not hotel crisp if thats ehat ypu are expecting and some of the blankets are obviously marked up from many uses. Each Tipi uses Schlage keypad locks for easy entry and security when leaving. The same is in place for each Bathroom which each Tipi has its own. I was pleasantly surprised at the bathroom and attached picture of what you can expect (note the step stool was ours brought for kids, so dont expect that). Besides the large cobwebs at the window unit you should enjoy the facilities.Inside the Tipi you get a coffee pot, but dont bring your own grounds without remembering filters. They do provide the all in one grounds in filter combos to use. You also get utensils, dishware, pots and pans to use on the plug in 2 burner. There is also a toaster oven. See pics. The Tipi has 3 beds so it can be a little cramped along with the couch. There were many banged shins and toes during our stay. There is no table inside fyi. We had brought our own folding. There is a TV and many remotes so its a bit confusing initially which does what as there is no instructions. But we werent there for TV so not a huge deal for us.There is a hatch type window which was unsecured and we werent sure of its purpose.Outside each Tipi there is about 6 chairs, a picnic table, firepit, charcoal grill and a couple of cats. They also have outdoor area where, if the weather is good you can play teatherball, or they have cornhole bags in the Tipi (we didnt find ours until cleaning up to leave as they were behind the couch) which can be used on the cornhole boards outside. We played ping pong and grilled. Bring charcoal and wood logs for firepit. If coming in off 35 I recommend stopping at Bucees for that. There is a narrow walkway down to the river. We went down there for fishing and pictures included. There is a viewing deck and a small rock patio spot. Both are small so if another family is there it will be tight.Unfortunately for us it rained for the entire day and night of our main day. The Tipi was not very noisy in the rain. We still got out and hiked up at the nearby dam trails and on the brighter final morning we left and grabbed brunch nearby. We were surprised at just how many stores and restaurants there were nearby even though it felt quite remote. Recommend the Wildflour Restaurant if you eat out. Great food.So the downside for us, both nights we had neighboring guests making A LOT of noise. Music and shouting etc. We understand everyone is on vacation but the first night it was until 11:30pm and the following night it was a new set of guests who was very loud until 10pm when they were asked to turn off their music by a few other guests who also had kids. There is a Quiet Time detailed in the welcome packet email but it is understandably hard to police this.Another item, and we understand its off season but they have a TV room (which is closed for COVID) surrounded by an outdoor decking area built around a tree. This would have been fun except that it was messy and unkept and not functional (see pics). If we were to return we would recommend guests stay at Tipi 8 which is the most picturesque and free of trees OR Tipi 6 which had its own little table and firepit with string lights set to the side more privately.Overall it was a good time, price was ok (expect double what they show as Starting at..$xx online). The surrounding area is beautiful and only 1 hr from Austin in a different season it would be somewhere we would visit again.

  • Review 10 (2017-10-29 - Rating: 4)

Love love this place. Could you use a bit of an update like the ping pong table and some hammocks arent functioning but still a great place to stay a couple nights. Your own access to the lake. Had it all to our selves which was great. You have your own pretty nice outhouse bathroom. Plenty of seating, your own grill, and fire pit is provided. Wish i didnt have to wash the dishes and take out your own trash, kinda cuts into the whole relaxin vacation. Thank goodness i had amazing company who took it upon herself to get it done. The tipis are super confortable and nothing but friendly faces around. Definitely will be back.

  • Review 11 (2022-06-09 - Rating: 5)

This place was so cute and even on memorial day weekend the camp area and even our end of the river wasnt crazy wild or packed. They had a tube shuttle waiting at the end of the driveway in shifts for anyone that didnt want to drive or leave their cars anywhere. They also had cookouts going for dinner and breakfast. We could not have asked for a better experience.

  • Review 12 (2018-02-04 - Rating: 5)

I absolutely lived it here. The amenities are great, The service was great and the grounds are well kept. The tipis are the coolest, they have space heaters for the winter and an air conditioner for the summer. Each tipi campsite had its own charcoal grill, hammock, and big fire pit with chairs. Each tipi also had is own bathroom. The bathrooms are really nice too, they seem like they might be newly renovated. There is also a swing and deck overlooking the river. We underestimated how much firewood we would need and someone from the grounds came out to bring us some happily. The only bad part was that you can hear everything through the tipis. There just happened to be a bachelorette party the first night we stayed and we really couldnt sleep with all the noise. But the next night was very peaceful. I get the impression that loud groups like that are not common.

  • Review 13 (2023-08-27 - Rating: 4)

Stay in a Tipi> ✅️ We had some issues with low shower pressure however they provided other accommodations for showering. Over all a great trip.

  • Review 14 (2021-04-01 - Rating: 5)

Amazing Experience, loved all the amenities including kitchenette with kitchenware utensils, separate bathroom and parking per tipi, and personal picnic area with chairs in front of tipis. Extra charge for firewood for the firepit, and smores kit with bonus* fun magic fire for firepit which was worth it. But if your looking for privacy especially for extrovert families tipis have thin walls, so we had to be considerate with our neighbors, otherwise my family is looking forward to next vacation to Tipis on the Guadalupe 🥰

  • Review 15 (2022-03-03 - Rating: 5)

Stayed for one night and couldn’t be happier. There is access to the river and a playground nearby. Room was clean and area was quiet. Will come again!

  • Review 16 (2021-10-20 - Rating: 5)

There is something absolutely magical about this place! It’s so perfect for families with children. The naturally occurring shelf in the river is shallow enough so parents don’t have to worry about their kiddos as they explore the area with fish nets or flashlights. We loved the addition of tetherball, corn hole, and the cool ping pong table! This was my third time there, and great memories were made as usual!

So cute! The AC in the teepee works great. The bathrooms are very nice. Not right on the river but its a really short walk, and their spot on the river is PERFECT. Will be back.

5 of us stayed in 2 tipis and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very clean, and had everything we needed for a fun evening! We will definitely be going back again. Katie who we dealt with was very professional and very helpful. Thanks for helping us make great memories.

  • Review 22 (2021-10-20 - Rating: 5)

We loved it very clean, accommodating and definitely cozy. We will be back !

  • Review 23 (2020-08-28 - Rating: 4)

A really fun time overall! Felt safe and comfortable, the tipi was so cute, very clean inside and the beds were very cozy. As with any outdoor trip expect a couple bugs and for the shower to not have the best pressure. The property manager was very helpful in getting us our kayaks and fixing the problematic A/C. Would recommend for a fun family trip or a quiet couple getaway, a great place for either.

  • Review 24 (2022-12-06 - Rating: 5)

We stayed in the La Pluma suite rather than a tipi as we had a wedding to attend nearby. Our experience was great! We had the entire resort to ourselves making the stay very quiet and relaxing. Lizzy and Katie were both great to work with since my CC company was being extra safe. We also requested an iron for use and our request was answered with an iron at the suite within an hour! We would highly recommend this cute retreat and would love to go back!

  • Review 25 (2020-09-23 - Rating: 4)

Not much to complain about. Nice place-- could use some clean up work on the exterior but the tipis were clean inside. Beds comfortable. Great family place. Little walk to the river but easy enough if you can deal with a hill and have kids that can handle the trail on their own. We enjoyed #6. Great location right next to the bathroom with your own little corner on the lot for your hangout/fire(firewood was available there) We had a good time and would definitely recommend it! Traveled with an 8 and 4 year old. They had a great time and thought the tipi was super cool! Easy access to a few local restaurants, gas, coffee and small stores to get last minute supplies. I didnt catch his name but the guy that is in charge of the grounds was super helpful and got us all the info and firewood we needed! Thanks for a great birthday location for our kids!

  • Review 26 (2021-08-01 - Rating: 4)

Check in was easy though at 4pm was a bit later than I would recommend due to the time needed to unload all belongings and enjoy your first night. Quiet time is 9pm to 9am though not enforced. The walk to the water is convenient but its hike back up is steep without handrails. The river area is small for 8 families to enjoy since the tents were full. The beds are hard but the tent and private bath is clean and has the basics you need. Has some various game outdoor activities to enjoy and there is plenty of setting around camp site.

  • Review 27 (2023-03-07 - Rating: 5)

We cannot rave enough about our family experience this past weekend at the Reservation in #6 Raging Bull and #4 Red Cloud. The entire process was so easy, flexible and made us feel so much at home away from home. We picked the perfect time to go right before the Spring Break rush, so the grandkids pretty much had full reign running all over the property. Priceless memories were made at Tipis on the Guadalupe this weekend with our children and grandchildren. Thank you!

  • Review 28 (2020-07-30 - Rating: 4)

This place was awesome and so well kept up. It was a quick walk down to the river. The tipis were cozy! The only thing I think I would say was it didnt have a microwave....they have a toaster oven but not a microwave and wish we knew that before. If you want to stay closer to a bathroom look on the map. We stayed in #1 which was the farthest from the bathroom but still close enough. Billy the groundskeeper was awesome!!! He made sure we had everything we needed and checked on us throughout our stay. We will definitely be coming back!

  • Review 29 (2023-07-07 - Rating: 5)

I 100% recommend this wonderful getaway spot. I was really impressed by the location, you are walking distance from the river and only 15 mins at most from Canyon lake. The tree house is clean, cozy and amazingly peaceful.

  • Review 30 (2021-09-10 - Rating: 5)

We did a weekday getaway before school started and we decided to check out the Tipis. Overall, its rustic but so cute and very clean. We had such a great time. We decided to rent a kayak one day and we had everything worked out within an hour. I would highly recommend this place!

  • Review 31 (2023-08-09 - Rating: 5)

Katie the owner took our call made our reservations. Shes very kind, professional and informative , she came across very personable. My wife and i arrived on a Thursday evening and contacted Katie for information and she had Bill the campsite manager come by. Bill is an absolute great guy. Gave us lots of useful information and dropped in if you needed him or just to check on things. Very kind and friendly. We enjoyed chatting with Bill. My wife and I would love to return again soon. We enjoyed our 3 day night 4 day stay. Absolutely recommend it

We loved our stay at the Tipis. It was very clean and a nice size. The private bathroom was really nice, with great water. It was a quick walk down to the river for a little area and just right around the corner for a larger swim area. My kids are begging to go back!

Unique experience in a beautiful location! As part of our 2 week Texas road trip my brother and I stayed one night in the tipis on the guadelupe. This was a very welcome change from all the hotels in the busy cities we stayed in the weeks prior. We were welcomed very warmly my Lizzy and Katie and after giving a brief tour of the property and grounds we enjoyed a pleasant afternoon and evening at the tipis. We spent a good few hours kayaking at the river (we even spotted wild deer, turtles and other wildlife). Spent the evening BBQing on one of the many BBQs present at the property and ended up with star gazing and some ping pong. The tipis were way more spacious than we anticipated from the pictures and were very clean. The same goes for the bathrooms. It was a very hot day outside but we could make it freezing cold in the Tipis so the AC seemed to be working just fine! The next day we had a nice breakfast at the Riverside and did a nice hike nearby which Katie suggested and had a really good time!

  • Review 35 (2020-05-20 - Rating: 5)

We had a great night in the tipis and wish we had stayed longer! It was the first night of our honeymoon and it was such a neat experience! It was very clean, well lit, and quiet despite being busy with other campers and families. The spot by the river was so cute and fun but I was bummed I forgot water shoes. The weather was great and we had an amazing time! We will definitely return!

Lovely place - rustic and comfortable. Outdoor space is super nice and the Tipis are cozy. The only issue we had was the three families that came together and were so loud - and up until 2AM!!! The crew was helpful and cordial! We’ll definitely be back

We had an amazing time!! Staff is so very helpful!!! And we can not say enough great things about Billy!! We will definitely be back soon. Only thing I could tell people if u stay in Tipi 8 like we did bring a pop up that is the only one without a Tree but probably one of the best ones because u are not so close to everyone and it has easy parking if u have a big truck. The river is awesome it is a little bit of a walk but oh so worth it. Our only downfall was it rained most the week but hey Mother Nature does what it wants. Shops and shopping are close by!! Want to say a big thank to all staff They came up to help everyone know matter what time of day it was. This place is great for all ages!!! My daughter will be sending all her pictures and drone videos soon!!! We had a Blast Thanks and God Bless.

We loved staying at the Tipis! The living area inside was comfortable. The outside are was very clean. There was deer and other wild life roaming through the camp. The bathroom area was nice. Only wished there wasn’t a burn ban ... we would have loved using the fire pit. Overall, a very good experience!

Amazing family friendly place🖤 My kiddos truly loved it. They even have a volleyball net and ball available, ping-pong table, footballs, and oh so many more recreational activities available. We played endlessly into the night. They even have cable with Disney, Nickelodeon, and ESPN available on their television inside the Tipis. Free WiFi also. Just overall, a truly memorable vacation. Please do yourself and family a favor and book your stay here. You wont regret it🖤🙌🏽😊🖤

Had a wonderful time visiting the “la pluma” cabin!! it was perfectly decorated to match its name. and perfect for our last name!! it had everything from clean linens, adorable kitchenette and outside grill!! THE BED IS COMFY!! we loved going to HEB and picking up groceries to cook at the cabin. the tipi’s are super cute and would love to stay in one next time. there is private river access, it is not river front. it is a little walk down a pathway and stairs. if the weather was warmer we definitely would have enjoyed getting in!! it was definitely relaxing just to be down at the river bank! we love and miss this area so much and this was a nice change from camping in our 5th wheel. staff interactions were easy, quick and very nice!!

  • Review 42 (2022-10-28 - Rating: 5)

The we stayed at the La Pluma resort here and it was gorgeous. It was a good amount of space for two. It had small kitchen with microwave, toaster over, and fridge. The outside deck was really nice and we enjoyed sitting out there drinking coffee. It did have a propane bbq pit. Under the bugalo it had parked and a gate for privacy. We definitely plan on staying there again. Also it’s mins away from Whitewater Amphitheater.

Loved the river access and the location! The tipis themselves are spacious. We also really liked that we had our own private showers and restrooms. We had a small issue with a lock and were able to get into touch with maintenance and get it resolved very quickly.

We spent our 2nd anniversary at the Tipis. It was a great experience! The Tipis are so cool! The walk to the river was a little longer than I thought it would be, and the other glampers were not very respectful of late night noise control, but Im getting old I guess, i couldve complained but they were having fun so I didnt. Still our visit was really nice and have recommended it to our family and friends.

  • Review 45 (2021-04-12 - Rating: 5)

My family had a great time. The tipis was roomier than I thought it would be. The river is a bit more of a walk than I expected. Very young kids or older folks may have a challenge getting to the river. Overall, it was great and what we hoped for on our quick camping trip.

  • Review 46 (2021-09-17 - Rating: 5)

Great location! Near some cool stuff and with river access only a few feet away! FYI if you want to float (rent tubes, shuttle service, etc.), you are right next door to a floating rental place with decent prices (like 2 minute drive, 8 minute walk), but you can still enjoy the river right from Tipis on the Guadalupe. This place was awesome!

  • Review 47 (2020-01-10 - Rating: 5)

My kids and I LOVED camping here! So glad I found this place. The Tipi’s are huge and I slept so good! I felt at peace hanging out here and look forward to coming back. The community house was fun. Had a great time playing games in there and enjoying family time. My kids keep asking when we can go back. Thank you for this experience!

Had a wonderful time here. Such a great experience for my family. Tipi had everything we needed for our stay, & they are very spacious inside. We came during the winter time, & it was just excellent. Had our firewood & a s’mores kit delivered to us, and my son just loved it. Can’t wait to come back during the summer to get in the river. A must do with the family.

We just got back from the most wonderful weekend here. I usually don’t write reviews but this place is very special. We took our small children, we were very comfortable in the Teepee. Air conditioning worked well as well as the WiFi. The kitchenette was well stocked and very functional. I like that is set back a little from the water so I didn’t worry about the kids running around and playing while I cooked dinner. The staff was extremely responsive to anything we needed esp billy and Rachel. We could not have had a better weekend

We stayed one night in tipi 5...beautiful area...beds were comfortable...there is no microwave but we dint need one..just sharing for information. The narrow walk to the river and the river water was amazing...really enjoyed our stay...hopefully can come back again with a bigger group😊. We had no problem with bugs or insects...we visited in the month of May...wish we could have stayed couple more nights..

  • Review 51 (2020-05-12 - Rating: 5)

We had such an amazing weekend! What I loved was how spacious the tipi was inside! So much room y’all! Bedding was provided, everything for cooking, the bathroom was very roomy too! They tell you in an email items you should bring such as spices and oil for cooking, beach towels, toiletries, and coolers for your drinks. They also provide a list of grocery stores, places of interest, and restaurants to try in the area. We will definitely be back, we did not want to leave!

  • Review 52 (2017-10-28 - Rating: 4)

Adorable, comfy, all the basic kitchen needs are in place, great place for families or couples. A nice way to go camping for those who arent big on roughing it. Super clean private bathrooms. Linens, towels, dishes, pots, pans, and basic prep utensils/knives/cutting boards supplied. Toaster over, microwave, mini fridge, portable cooking range, and barbecue pit in every unit. River access is less than a three minute walk from the site. I had a wonderful mother daughter get away with my nine year old here. Will definitely go back many times.

  • Review 53 (2020-11-14 - Rating: 4)

We really enjoyed our time spent at Tipis on the Guadalupe. Theres a lot of history, attractions and leisure shopping within driving distance if you dont want to stay on the river. My only observation that caused pause was the lack of sound proofing in the Tipis (you can hear Everything thats going on outside, so it can be a long night if your neighbors are enjoying drinks and conversation). We would definitely go back, but try to coordinate a larger family gathering to occupy the majority of the Tipis.

  • Review 54 (2023-02-05 - Rating: 5)

Absolutely relaxing. We stayed at the teahouse LA Pluma. Privacy was a priority. We had access to the Guadalupe river too! The tree house was cozy, romantic and serene. We will definitely come here again.

  • Review 55 (2021-03-14 - Rating: 5)

Tipis is very family friendly and clean. I will definitely go again. The kids enjoyed the environment and there was a beautiful scenery. They have some outdoor games to play but it wouldn’t hurt to bring a few games of your own. Overall this is a great place to relax and enjoy your family.

  • Review 56 (2021-12-29 - Rating: 5)

This is a favorite getaway for my family. We spend the most time at the river and surrounding the fire pit. We have all the creature comforts to keep everyone happy and lots of physical activities- tether ball and the ping pong table are the favs- to keep kids off devices. It is good family fun and every time we leave the kids as when we are coming back. This is a must!

The Tipis on the Guadalupe has been our yearly vacation place our family loves it super relaxing place to be. Last year we reserved as usual but we had an unexpected loss in the family just days before our trip, the owner understood our reason for cancellation and gave us credit for future booking reservations we really where amazed how professional and understanding they where this year we decided to book and took our trip with everything going with COVID Tipis and restroom was clean everyone kept distance. We love this place we highly recommended it.

Wow, an amazing find! Stayed at the LaPluma Retreat (think luxury treehouse) & it was one of my best stays ever! Great location with river access. Gorgeous outside deck & super comfortable king-sized bed. Cute furnishings & enough kitchen gadgets to get you through a long weekend should you choose to cook & eat in. Will be back to visit this little slice of heaven! Thank you, Tipis on the Guadalupe!

  • Review 59 (2020-07-23 - Rating: 4)

We had a great time at the Tipis. It was a unique experience, with outdoor fun like camping, but much needed air conditioning, beds, and private baths. We would stay here again. The trail walk to the river front was easy to navigate and not too far.

  • Review 60 (2020-07-29 - Rating: 5)

Wonderful stay each time! Six day stay! Complete access to the river just a few steps away! Everything you need for glamping! Mr. Billy was really nice! I think he’s the grounds keeper. So much family fun even with the game room closed. Just a short drive from Austin and San Antonio to do some sight seeing! The people in the area are really nice as well! This was our families third summer visit and already planning for next year!

  • Review 61 (2020-05-04 - Rating: 5)

The management was very helpful and quick to respond. Clean facilities. Each tipis had a bathroom outside that locked with a door code so you knew who was using it. They were very nice bathrooms with large showers. The tipis were a good size and the one I stayed in had three large queen size beds and a couch. No microwave but it did have a microwave oven and two burned stove, with a mini fridge. Very strong a/c unit. Clean. Tipis #8 had a beautiful view. The trek down to the river was narrow and takes about 3-5 minutes but pretty spot on the water. Not the greatest for swimming but I hung out in a tube all day and it was great. Firewood available on order. Provided dishes and utensils.

  • Review 62 (2020-08-20 - Rating: 5)

Highly recommend!! The tipis were very clean & provided things we didn’t need to bring from home, such as outdoor chairs, pots & pans that made our stay so accommodating!! Great family outdoor fun nearby!! Our family plans to make this a yearly place to stay when we float the river.

  • Review 63 (2021-09-10 - Rating: 5)

This is such a fun time! Great for family, friends or even just a solo trip! I brought my girlfriends for a bachelorette camping trip and we had an absolute BLAST! Gives a great camping feel without all the hassle of camping! Convenient location- close to restaurants, grocery and most importantly the river!! Definitely will be coming back!!

  • Review 64 (2020-06-18 - Rating: 5)

We had a wonderful time. Tipis were clean and nice. Tether ball and cornhole games were an added bonus. Plenty of room for 6 adults. Outdoor area was nice. Deer come real close. Access to the river was easy.

  • Review 65 (2020-11-13 - Rating: 5)

I absolutely loved the drive there the scenic view was awesome. Once there the tipi was so comfy. Big soft couch and beds. If your a late sleeper you will do great here. We didnt even know it was day light because no light comes into the tipi. I slept great. Enjoyed the outdoors. We had tipi #8 1st one on the left as you enter. We were close to several out door games and 1 tipi from our own restroom. By the way the shower was huge. Enjoyed our walk to the river. Had a deck on top to relax and a swing and chairs by the river to enjoy. The water level was perfect. Closer to the edge we were was perfect for my grandkids 4 and 5 years old. Not deep at all. We had a fire pit and bbq grill. We bbqd and ate outdoors. The neighbors were awesome. We were not bothered by any of the fun that was being had around us. I want to come back with my husband and family. Management was awesome and answered my every question quickly. The only issue I had was the our restroom doors didnt lock if not being used. We left our items in restroom to not tote it back and forth but would have liked for it to be locked to prevent any kids entering. The kitchenette had knives, cooking utencils some dishware, coffee. I absolutely will recommend it to anyone.

If you like camping but not so much roughing it, these are perfect for you! We really enjoyed our stay. It was only a 2 minute walk down to the water and you can also rent kayaks from them as well. Overall great experience and would visit again.

Beautiful place, Lush green, mountains, water stream. What more can you ask in Texas. Nature at its best. Tipis accommodation is an added attraction, very cute place. I was able to cook and clean easy. This is the place where i really got good sleep. I definitely recommend. Its a must see...

We had a relaxing time. Enjoyed sharing this experience with our friends. Close walk down to the river.. It has 3 queen beds and a couch in it and separate bathroom with towels.. it was very clean! Tipi had a lot of household items. It has coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, electric 2burner cook top, cutlery, cups, glassware, plates, bowls, hand towels , dish soap.. it was nice knowing all we needed to bring was our food, ice chest full of drinks, condiments, charcoal and lighter. Store not far away if you forgot something!!Will totally recommend this to others!

  • Review 69 (2021-11-29 - Rating: 5)

The tipis were very spacious and a great way to get away for a few days. Loved the fire pit and the activity area. The kids loved the tetherball and the adults loved the corn hole. It was a quick little hike to the river, but even the walk was enjoyable.

  • Review 70 (2020-10-23 - Rating: 4)

The tipis are great..the area where they are. Everything was clean.. But the River and the way to go to the river Nope.. U will need to go to Canon lake or somewhere different to enjoy the river. Its so difficult u bring tubes with u to take them down to the river. I would not recommend that river there. If the Tipis management invest in a pool will be the best..they also can build like a mini house on the tree for the kids to enjoy or swings

  • Review 71 (2016-09-04 - Rating: 5)

The tipis were very clean! I was impressed with the set up inside, it was very neat and tidy and pretty cool and unique. My family and I cooked out one evening on the deck by the game room which made for a relaxing evening! We enjoyed our stay and the river which was very close to us!

  • Review 72 (2020-05-29 - Rating: 4)

Overall the quality and layout was as advertised. I really liked the outside setting for each tipi had its owned picnic table, bbq pit and chairs - all came in handy and was used the entire stay. Bathrooms are nice. In my opinion some areas to improve upon would be to have a microwave in each unit. There needs to be a minimum of 6 bath and face towels in each restroom. (The tipis accommodate 6 guest) There should be extra garbage bags being there is no one on the property during the weekend to remove the garbage once full.

  • Review 74 (2022-12-11 - Rating: 5)

This place was amazing. Beautiful location, not too far from the city so it was quick to pick up when I needed something. The room was very comfortable. They had AC, provided portable heaters for the cold. The Wi-Fi was fast, big TV, I dont know if Netflix was supposed to be included but it was definitely on the fire stick 😄. Amazing experience.

2020 Tipi Trip was terrific! We all enjoyed our stay in Tipi #7 and will be returning, soon.We placed a call about the temperature of the shower water (colder than the river water) and someone came out immediately.Although they could not immediately determine what the issue was with the shower water temperature, they simply switched us to the available/ vacant shower area and saved the day!Be prepared to sleep CRAZY late, as the rooms have no light pollution and with the hum of the air conditioner...everyone slept well 🇺🇸

  • Review 76 (2020-08-09 - Rating: 5)

I took a large group of women for an annual Girls Trip and we had a blast! The pandemic was causing us all some panic but every phone call I made was handled professionally and without being annoyed. I realize they are probably being bombarded with calls about that. The tipjs are much larger than you expect inside and had everything we needed. Very clean inside and outside was so pleasant to just relax. We walked down to the river to float down to another site and had no issues. Its kind of steep and coming back up is a bit of a workout but the path is clearly marked and access is perfect. This is my second time renting 3+ tipis for our group and we will definitely be going again!!

  • Review 77 (2020-01-26 - Rating: 5)

We had an amazing weekend at the Tipis. Tipi was very roomy and met our needs. Amenities are great! Showers are close and the game room is perfect for groups. It did rain on us but we still had a lot of fun!

  • Review 78 (2020-03-16 - Rating: 5)

Such a great place for a getaway! We enjoyed everything they had to offer: the perfectly-equipped tipi, dinner on the grill, sitting around the fire pit, playing ping pong and tetherball. It was just a short walk down to the beautiful Guadalupe River. The kids loved it! We’ll be back!

  • Review 79 (2020-05-20 - Rating: 5)

The tipis are very sound and allow you to move around. Having the separate bathroom away from the room was actually convenient. Dish soap, trash bags, fire pit, grill and smoker all provided; made for an easier experience. The friendly staff was also a plus. We were recently there when a huge thunderstorm storm hit and the only time we know it was over us was when a huge thunder clap happened and echoed inside the tipi. Our 4 year old had a blast.

  • Review 80 (2020-04-28 - Rating: 5)

My family and I recently stayed in the Yellow Flower TeePee! It was such a wonderful experience. Our three-year old daughter was in heaven! The private bathrooms were impeccably clean and very convenient to the teepee. The teepee itself was very spacious and had everything we needed for our 4-night trip. The river is about a 100-yard walk away. There is a great natural rock shelf in the river to set chairs on or sit on. The same people who own the teepee’s have a great plot of land down river that is perfect to float down to, just have someone drive to pick the floaters up! I 100% recommend a stay in a teepee on the Reservation on the Guadalupe. We will be back!

  • Review 81 (2021-08-07 - Rating: 5)

My family and I went with 2 other families for a few days. It was out first time staying in a tipi and loved every single minute of it. The whole place was very family oriented and didn’t have to worry about constantly keeping an eye on the kids. The tipis were nice and cool and had all the amenities needed for glamping! We are already looking into scheduling next year and making this a yearly tradition!

  • Review 82 (2020-04-26 - Rating: 5)

Best glamping experience Ive ever had! The Guadalupe river was only about a 2 minute walk away with two levels of sitting space and direct access to get into the water. The view from outside the tipis was stunning, and everything was spotless clean. Incredible service, private bathhouses for each tipi with security codes to everything, strong a/c, individual firepits, and only a 10-15 minute drive into town. Plus, I only saw one spider inside the 3 days we were there! We will be making this a family tradition at least once a year.

  • Review 83 (2021-07-10 - Rating: 5)

Stayed in tipi 3. Tipi was roomy and had all the things you needed. Walking distance to the river. Love that you have your own private restroom. The only thing I would recommend was maybe add a public restroom. I had 3 teenagers using the bathroom and showering and my boyfriend and a I had to wait at times. Other than that everything was great!!!

  • Review 84 (2020-06-07 - Rating: 5)

This is a great little getaway for two, or for a few, or for a group :) I was just thinking this would be a great place for a family reunion. At the tipis, fire pits, grills and games are plenty. A two minute stroll to the river finds a swinging bench on shore. It’s quite close to town. The local supermarket, shops and pubs are a ten minute drive, but you’ll want to drive right back to the tipis as soon as your errands are done. We’d definitely go back.

  • Review 85 (2021-11-24 - Rating: 5)

Hands down a great staycation.. we actually live in Canyon Lake and drive by every week. We finally booked for the weekend and truly enjoyed our time. Peaceful and relaxing.. the tipis were very clean and well maintained. My only gripe is our neighbors one tipi over. They thought blasting their car radio all day was a good idea. Not the properties fault but annoying nonetheless

  • Review 86 (2020-04-20 - Rating: 5)

During this pandemic they were very cautious about making sure everything was clean. They responded to any question I had online. Billy the groundskeeper was very nice and always available! Great birthday weekend for me and my family. We will definitely come back!

  • Review 87 (2020-11-17 - Rating: 5)

This was our first time staying at Tipis on the Guadalupe. The staff was friendly and very responsive via text message. The area is well kept and clean. I recommend staying in tipi #8. You have a nice view and it is a bit further away from the other tipis. The only thing we noticed - It seems like a lot of people tend to feed the animals around the area. So, there were a lot of cats hanging around our tipi. Keep an eye on your food!

  • Review 88 (2017-03-29 - Rating: 5)

My family and I visited the tipis for the first time and we loved it. I was very pleased with the cleanliness of the tipi and the restroom. The tipi has everything you need for the kitchen. Only thing they didn’t have is a cutting board so take your own if you plan on needing one. We had never traveled to that area of Texas. It is beautiful!!

  • Review 93 (2018-03-10 - Rating: 5)

Awesome time with my wife staying in a giant teepee. This thing was huge. It had 3 queen size beds, a kitchen, and a TV. Very cool place to stay, nice little community atmosphere, and close to the water and other activities. Not too far from San Marcos either where there is a lot to do

  • Review 94 (2020-07-23 - Rating: 4)

We loved staying at the tipis. Even before we got there, the manager of the grounds, Katie, was so kind when we had to change our reservation due to COVID. She even gave us the price of new promotion that she didnt previously have going on when we originally reserved. The campground was neat and tidy, which sometimes you dont get in a cabin-style setting. The head groundskeeper, Billy, was available 24/7 for questions. The walkway to the river was clean and well-kept. The only thing that I would improve is the organization of the furniture inside the tipi. Our tipi got really hot at night because one bed was crammed up against the air conditioner. The rest of us could not get air. But, all-in-all, we loved it, and we would definitely stay there again.

  • Review 95 (2020-06-07 - Rating: 5)

Lovely glamping experience for my family! Firepit, smoker, comfy wicker chairs to make a great night! Hop skip and jump down to the river with our private deck/patio. Just a few tubes floated by! Bathroom was clean and private.

  • Review 96 (2021-03-14 - Rating: 4)

Fun location with kids. Lots of things to do swimming, kayaking, tether ball, ping pong and volleyball. Nice having a bathroom and shower while camping. Some the towels had a mildew smell. Overall clean.

  • Review 97 (2021-05-18 - Rating: 4)

A quiet nice place to stay . Private BBQ pit, and outdoor fire place. You gotta bring your own charcoal and firewood. You could play volleyball and ping-pong right outside within the property. Theres a trail which leads you to the stream with clear water. There are three beds in a room or the tent- like looking huts. There are about 6-7 huts like that in the area. Restrooms are located separately little away from those huts, which can be little annoying when you have to wakeup at 4 am to pee.

  • Review 98 (2016-11-29 - Rating: 5)

  • Review 99 (2020-04-03 - Rating: 5)

Snuck away with the family for a quick one nighter. Quick walk to the river, clean grounds, our tipi and restroom were spotless. We had every thing we needed for a comfortable stay. We made dinner on the bbq outside, along with the hot plate in the tipi. The manager even came back over to the grounds, after hours (I believe) to get us firewood and Smores kits. We had a great time. We look forward to coming back in the summer!

Forced bonding is a good time I promise😂‼️THINGS TO NOTE:‼️Pay attn to the welcome email. Bring seasoning, napkins, toiletries and a separate ice chest for drinks!*shop before u make it to the area, the nearest market is expensive*bring bait, limited selection nearby*its slightly uphill from the river access so ur thighs will feel it a bit! Carry the kiddos if you can.*if ordering ice or firewood, call with at least 30 mins to spare, maybe while youre getting ready! $10/10lbs ice, $18 firewood kit*TIPI 8 HAS LIMITED SHADE - bring a pop up tent if u plan to spend time at the tipi during sun up hours* 3, 6 and 7 are the closest to the restrooms and 3 is the best best one bc its by the clubhouse, restroom and the trail to the river

Split second, crunch time mother-daughter vacation only taken once a year and I only had a few days notice. The day before departure I find one of the best spots in texas per a Google search, I began to book online through the website. Questions kept popping up in my mind about little specific details that would waste space in text, so I called a direct line to speak with someone (clearly listed on the webpage). The line was busy, but a friendly voice asked for a message; since I was already planning to book, I didnt bother leaving one. Lo and behold, not even a minuet later my phone rings from an unknown number and its the manager Patrick calling back on the missed call (what awesome service!). He answered all my little questions, took my information and booked my next day reservation all in 5 minuets. The following day, my mother wakes up sick. And not just those texas allergies we all get in the morning, but chills and everything. So, I call back to see what we can do. First call the line picks up to Patrick again. I explain the situation and without any guilt, or greed, or rudeness he refunds the payment. Now, I read the rules, and the booking rules are very clear about what is the norm. But for a not normal situation, he made the empowered call. From a born and raised texan, I can gurantee the natural beauty of the pictures. The city of New Braunfels is a fantastic little Texas town. The other reviews on here will gurantee the peacefulness of the site.I hope this review convinces you that the people behind Reservation on the Guadalupe will do their best to give excellent customer service in making sure you have a wonderful experience from start to finish.Thank you from San Antonio/Corpus Christi

The tipi was nice, it was spacious and enough room for everyone. At first I didnt like having to go outside to use the restroom but it wasnt bad at all. I like the fact that every tipi has its own restroom. I will visit again

We enjoyed our stay in the tipis so much. They were clean and comfortable. We used the fire pit each night and enjoyed the nights under the stars.

Perfect place for a gathering. We rented out two tipis next to each other for my 30th birthday and had the best time. Its peaceful, and friendly, and a quick walk right down to the water.

  • Review 134 (2016-08-10 - Rating: 4)

Facilities were good and it was walking distance to the river. Cons were the air conditioning in the bathrooms was very cold and the tepee itself had a bit of a smell.

Family had a great time and the tipi is larger than expected. Great place to go in a group too as the tents are close to each other or meet new friends.

We were there during a storm and the high winds and rain allowed a leak in Tipi #4 in addition we were at the low level of the camp site. This resulted in water coming into the Tipi from two areas, the roof and the door
