Gated ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Nice Office and clubhouse ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Nice friendly staff ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Pickleball court and Basketball Goal. Theres a bike path just outside the gate that stretches thru a nice neighborhood and small park for about 5 miles.👍Concrete pads for picnic table but didnt have a picnic table. Streets are definitely Big Rig Friendly. Pull thrus are long but should be a little wider. Need some gravel around electrical, sewer and water connections, it can get soggy and muddy when it rains.I saw a lot of families staying here. This place was clean and very well maintained. This place has higher standards than most RV Parks and doesnt have any Riff Raff. I felt very safe while staying here. 👍 -

This RV park is fantastic. Everything is very clean. The spaces are wide. Its quiet and peaceful. Its about 5 years old but its maintained so well, it looks brand new. The staff is great. Theres a new Costco being built just down the street and the new HEB is wonderful! I have family that lives in the area and will stay here everytime I come down for a visit. This is the only place worth staying at in the area. Do not follow Google maps through the neighborhood of The Colony. Do not put the address into Google Maps because there are many Fishtrap streets and it never took us the correct way. Instead, input the name of the resort. -

Very clean and spaces large enough. You are on top of each other though. If you want a little bit more room and quiet, they have another park that is older across the street. Getting in and out can be a little bit difficult because of traffic in front of the campground, depending on what time of day. So go with patience. -

We stayed here for 3 weeks (full time RV family). The sites were very long; with our 40 ft rig we could park our F250 either in front or back. Sites were level with lots of amenities (laundry room, bathrooms, showers, lounge, dog park, basketball court, and pool). Gated community, and the office staff was super friendly! -

This place is so peaceful once you enter the gates. As other people have said, the traffic and construction leading up to Shady Creek is INSANE!! It’s obvious the area is booming.Nice paved park, spaces are a good distance apart, every space has nicely kept grass and a concrete pad. Easy to access hookups.Clean laundry and bathrooms. The laundry room is a bit awkward if anyone else is in there….. it’s just narrow, so there’s constant “excuse me, sorry”.Workout room is adequate.Putting green, Pickle ball and basketball are great!Pool and patio surrounding it is really lovely, but the pool itself is so COLD!!I wish it would have been heated just a bit or maybe if it was covered at night it would help? I couldn’t even enjoy it on the 97 degree day because it was so frigid!!Office/lounge area is great and they have mail and packages well organized. They announce “coffee and pastries” on Saturday mornings, but it’s not pastries, it’s donut holes in a plastic container, instant oatmeal and pop tarts. Would be better to just say breakfast!!One other negative would be the amount of sirens we heard day and night. However, I would definitely go back if in the area….. fantastic park!Oh, another thing is that if you have a large dog it’s better to walk on the sidewalk outside the park since the dog area is definitely for small dogs. -

We have been here two months and this park is great for what it is. We are here to be in the land of the people, have access to all the things while wifey is pregnant. The sites are big, hook ups are placed nicely, and they do a good job and keeping it clean and enforcing cleanliness.Surprisingly cell data is a challenge. This park is in a rapidly growing housing area so the providers don’t have enough towers up. You will have full bars but slow speeds. I have had the best luck with att but having all three carriers has been great to switch between. -

Beautiful park. Spacious lots with your own concrete pad! Nice pool and clubhouse. Clean laundry room. Pastries and donuts on Saturdays! The staff is always nice and helpful. Its fun to Spin the Wheel every 2nd Wednesday of the month!! -

Review 12 (2022-04-18 - Rating: 5)
We’ve lived on the Retreat side for 5 months thus far. We moved over from the “old” side after being there for 9 months. Overall, we’ve had a great experience. They do a great job with keeping the park clean and enforcing the rules. The clubhouse is very nice and well appointed, and we look forward to using the pool this summer. If there’s room for improvement, it would be in two areas - upgrade the gravel sites and poor cellular internet. They put so much effort, money and planning into the park but failed to go the extra step to put in nice, level concrete sites. The gravel is okay, but water erosion and settling starts to become an issue over a short period of time. All of the roads and patios are concrete, but the sites are gravel and aren’t level making it sub-par as a DFW area luxury RV park in my opinion. Also, the cellular internet is very poor. In all fairness, this isn’t the park’s fault. There’s a lot of new home construction in the area, plus with all of the RVs, there’s just not enough towers to support the growth. The park does offer very good free and paid WiFi as an alternative. The free is great for checking email and browsing, but you’ll need to upgrade to the paid option if you plan to stream. -

This is a very nice RV park with courteous and professional staff. Its clean and close to gas station and food. The staff answered the phone promptly and booked our reservation quickly. For a holiday weekend, it was quiet the few nights we stayed there. We arrived around 10 p.m., and without a map, it took a little time to find our spot. It was dark, and we couldnt see the numbers. The other guests were friendly, and one guy stopped to jump-start our car. I recommend this site; they have sufficient space for pull-through coaches. -

We’ve been staying here for 45 days and absolutely loved it. Great people and amenities. -
Review 19 (2023-10-25 - Rating: 5)
Gravel pads, nice paved roads, and well lighted. (We have dogs that we like to walk later. ) Great pool and laundry. Theres a dog park, but its small, and previous users had not cleaned up after their dogs. Gated entrance for safety. Park employees are friendly and helpful. Their sister park is across the road. We used to live in this area, and the only drawback is that you have to travel 380. Its horrible, no two ways about it. Everything you need is on 380, though. Close to Little Elm, Frisco, and Prosper. Lots of shopping and places to eat. -

I recently stayed at the Retreat at Shady Creek in my RV, and I must say it was a fantastic experience. The campground is not only beautiful but also incredibly safe. The well-maintained facilities and the peaceful, natural surroundings made for a perfect getaway.I want to give a special shout-out to Ruth and the property manager. Their exceptional work and communication skills truly stood out during my stay. They were always available to assist with any questions or concerns, making the experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend the Retreat at Shady Creek for a peaceful and secure RV retreat. -
Review 21 (2023-11-01 - Rating: 4)
Nice park. Centrally located to the upper end of Dallas suburbia. Difficult to get to during traffic hours - which is basically most of the day. Others have mentioned planning your arrival and departure and this is true. Must be a premium piece of land. Nice people in the office. It appears that there are a lot of full-timers or long-term stays based on the how the lots look. The business should go ahead and put in level concrete pads for coaches. Rained and was cold most the stay. Gravel was packed but standing water around utility connections. Great location, nice set up. Needs a bit more and would be perfect. Heavily congested area. -

Review 23 (2023-08-14 - Rating: 5)
The Retreat at Shady Creek is a beautiful RV park. The park is well designed and easy to navigate (we are 45ft and towing). The sites are concrete and widely spaced with grass and small trees in between. The staff is amazing and the pool and pickle all court are beautiful! We stay here frequently and appreciate the gated entry. One of our favorites! -
Review 24 (2023-08-28 - Rating: 5)
We lived here for 9 months and enjoyed our stay immensely! Highly recommend!Pro: the staff is very attentive to the grounds and the office ladies are professional and kind. Large sites with plenty of grass and cement patios. Friendly neighbors! Amenities are always clean! Excellent billing and response time to email/phone inquiries.Cons: the traffic in the area is HORRENDOUS! Nothing the rv park can do about it but just be aware. They do have problems with bike theft so lock-up your stuff (this is a problem at almost every rv park these days). The laundry room is small for the size of the park and can get really busy.Overall: the best the in area! -

We are full-time at the retreat and absolutely love it. We have built a community of friends here like no other. Great place to call home ❤️ -
Review 26 (2023-04-28 - Rating: 5)
We totally enjoy The Retreat at Shady Creek. Pros: nice large spaces with lots of grass, staff are friendly and responsive, clean pool and Club house. Close to stores, restaurants etc. It is a well maintained RV Park. Cons: traffic is terrible at rush hour. Seems like all the housing developments built around the park without upgrading the infrastructure. Nothing the park can help. Now an apartment complex is being built. The internet is hit or miss. We will go back. -
Review 27 (2024-05-22 - Rating: 5)
We love it here! Everyone in the office is very nice and accommodating. The office is well run the Postal is well done and the grounds are well kept. what more can I say! -
Review 28 (2023-01-06 - Rating: 5)
Very, very quiet RV park. I stayed here for about 3 months and barely saw people the entire time. The fitness center is focused on cardio equipment and it was nice to typically have it to myself. There isnt any water in the fitness center so you have to leave to go to the office to get some or the bathrooms. Traffic in the area is a mess so plan on sitting on the 2 lanes roads for a minute. Internet connection is always struggling. The showers are beautiful but while the looks were focused on, the plumbing was not. The water gets luke warm at best. -
Review 29 (2023-06-03 - Rating: 5)
This is a beautiful campground. We dont usually spend this much money on a campground, but this one was definitely worth it. We needed someplace close to Dallas becausewe wanted to see George W. Bushs Presidential Library, and check out where JFK was assassinated. Everything closer looked like a dump. The showers were indivual rooms with a toilet, sink, and a shower. It also had a bench to sit on and hooks for your things. The only downfall was my water was lukewarm at best, but my husbands water was nice and hot. The sites are nice level cemet slabs with a grass patch and tree at each site. There is a pool, tennis court, and basketball as well. The people in the office were nice, and they did not complain when I canceled the last night because we decided to move on sooner than we thought. There are food places, and gas stations nearby. We would stay here again. -
Review 30 (2022-06-03 - Rating: 4)
We stayed here for a couple months while we were waiting to get our house built. Very nice facility and dog friendly. A lot of activities to do in a nice pool to hang out at. It’s an upscale park and you definitely pay for what you get, there are less expensive places around but they are not as nice. The traffic around this RV park is horrible with all the housing areas around here if you get out at the wrong time of day be prepared to sit in traffic on the side streets for 20 to30 minutes at times. -
Review 31 (2022-07-10 - Rating: 5)
We have stayed at The Retreat at Shady Creek several times. Nice, large sites with a cement pad and grass. We had a pull thru site and are 60 long with our trailer and Super C RV and there is plenty of room to park our vehicle behind the RV. The park is very clean and well kept. I highly recommend. -
Review 32 (2021-09-08 - Rating: 4)
This is a brand new addition to the Shady Creek RV Park and Storage location which is separated by Fish Trap Road.NOTE: As of Sept 2021, check-in was still at the main front office off of FM 1385. Go up there and they will lead you through the older park to your spot across Fish Trap Road.We appreciated the concrete interior roads and nice looking pool/BBQ area. Sites are nicely spaced with packed gravel, concrete patios and grass between sites. It is in a fairly quiet residential area near many convenient restaurants and shopping.Have stayed at the old Shady Creek many times over the past 10 years and we were excited about THE RETREAT. It, too, already appears to be home to many permanent residents. Sites still seem well kept; however, the advertising seems to conflict with what we expected of The Retreat. It is in a great location for North Texas activities and UNT Football. Who wouldn’t want to live here…Because of it’s location and great staff, we will likely return. -

Review 34 (2022-01-12 - Rating: 5)
Picked up a clients RV to move it to another town. Very nice RV park with interesting RVs for rent as well as spaces for personal RVs with rental for day(s), week(s), or month(s). Spaces are concrete and you have to back in to park, but there are picnic tables at each space. Nice playground area for children and is also pet friendly. Has a workout area if you would like to keep up with your exercise program and a nice small lake for fishing. -
Review 35 (2022-06-06 - Rating: 5)
Nice park. We were in the newer part, The Retreat. Large, level dirt sites. Staff were all friendly and helpful. Very well maintained park with pool, putting area and basketball. A bit of construction getting there so allow a little extra time. -
Review 36 (2024-02-04 - Rating: 5)
We have previously stayed at The Retreat at Shady Creek which was our reason for returning. The park, staff and location are very good if you are wanting to be close to the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. -
Review 37 (2022-01-09 - Rating: 5)
We stayed in the Resort at Shady Creek RV Park for 5 nights. It is an addition that the park has added to the south across Fishtrap Road. The park it immaculate and the Wi-Fi is the best Ive ever had at an RV park. The spaces are large and spread out. It has been very cold this week so the kids only got to play on the playground one day, but we have really enjoyed our stay. If you need a place north of Dallas I would highly recommend it here! -
Review 38 (2022-08-16 - Rating: 5)

Review 66 (2024-10-10 - Rating: 4)
Really cozy little place. We only had one night but it was perfect for that. It was easy to get hold of the staff by phone before the visit (often not the case), good service, nice and clean facilities, nice little pool with associated area (where you could also grill and there was lounge furniture, sunbeds and tables and chairs. They has a small gym, a nice clubhouse and games you can enjoy - especially the putting green was a success, but there was also basketball and pickleball. The internet was a little slow, but you could buy a better connection. The size of the courts, and the appearance of the pitches was also nice - with grass around and a picnic table outside. Bathrooms were not new, but nicely decorated. Only minus was location close to a busy road (some pitches probably more than others), for us it was not bad - especially because we were only there for one night. The only reason they dont get 5 stars is that there is no convenience store/food on site - and a small playground for the little ones would be nice too. But everything in everything is a really nice and cozy place with nice people. NOTE: Gated and monitored - so security is also top notch 👍🏽😊✨
