We stayed in Cabin #13 - which is right up front of the property. Plenty of parking. Lots of outside area for hanging out. Inside is very roomy. With two living areas and nice kitchen. Bedrooms were very spacious with nice bathroom towels. Great for 4 or more people. -

Discovered this gem last minute when wanting to take my family on a fishing trip. So impressed! Comfortable, has everything you need to make it feel like youāre not camping but is outdoorsy enough to hear the birds in the morning and grill while watching the sunset. The site is so clean, the cabin was meticulous. Has all the towels and bedding you could need. Kitchen has great quality pots and pans etc. Felt very well looked after. The river was right there, so boys could fish. Itās a little drive to the more popular fishing locations along the roadā¦ we will be back. -

We went for wedding and everything was beautiful, the river front ceremony to the reception area!ā¦ the employee did a great job emptying out the trash bins in front of the cabins and the Security ( I didnāt get his name) was awesome! Very friendly and over just a nice person! The whole place was nice very family friendly! The park, mini golf, and the pool were big hits with my kids! We will definitely be going back. If you are thinking about having an even here definitely do it! -
Review 4 (2024-12-11 - Rating: 5)
We had such a sweet time in these little cabins, even though it was cold and rainy. We were in cabin 10 (thanks for the suggestion!) and loved waking up to wild animals and the sheep in the pasture. We enjoyed exploring the amenities like mini golf, the River access, and the playground. The bottom bunk of the bunk beds is very short so be mindful of this and the bed was not comfortable for tall people lol but overall a very enjoyable experience with our 2 small kiddos -
Review 5 (2024-10-19 - Rating: 5)
The cabin had far more amenities than we expected! We were only there for a short stay so didnāt even get to take advantage of everything they had to offer, but the river was ice cold and the natural setting was calming and peaceful. Plenty of great dining options within a 15min drive as well. -
Review 6 (2025-01-26 - Rating: 5)
We love staying at the Summit RV park. Its spacious and quiet, with River access and 3 pools, with lots to do for kids and their pet friendly. Ask for Manuel, hes great in helping you get what youre looking for. Well keep going back. -
Review 7 (2024-10-03 - Rating: 5)
I have been going to the summit since I was a kid, having easters there and family events. My parents had a house across the street up the hill. Now as an adult we just had our wedding here and the staff and everyone has been absolutely wonderful!!! From day one of planning the wedding to getting every detail in order. Even the security at night was amazing! I cannot word how terrific this place is and how stunning the views are and the cabins are so freaking cute! And have everything you need! This place is amazing! -
Review 8 (2024-10-03 - Rating: 5)
It was our first time staying at The Summit and we loved it! Beautiful scenery, great amenities and we will definitely be returning. The one and only thing about the apartment was the sofa bed was old and not comfortable at all. But other then that, LOVED it! -
Review 9 (2025-01-23 - Rating: 5)
Great place to stay. Quiet, tranquil. Loads of wildlife walking through camp. Did not use any of the facilities other than the fenced in dog park which was very nice for those traveling with pets. -
Review 10 (2025-01-23 - Rating: 5)
I stayed in my travel trailer in an RV space and it was great. The clubhouse and dog park areas were well kept, and the river access was fantastic. I will be starting here again in the future -

For those asking about this place.. Its absolutely Beautiful and The cabins are worth the price they ask . We just had a family Reunion there and we had 15 cabins and 4 tree top villas and we loved every moment that we were there . You have deer and Turkey that Walk up to you. Its a Beautiful walk to the river from your cabin. Our entire family love the place and The staff is Amazing they are all so super nice and The cabins are so cozy and its supply with everything. The WiFi is great and they have nice towels for you . This is a great place for you to bring your family . Its more beautiful than The pictures show. The clubhouse is very nice to have your event .You will not regret making plans to stay. We booked our cabins back in January of this year and as I mentioned we had our family reunion this past weekend. . Lot of us are already booking our cabins to come back next year. Thank you The Summit Vacation and RV Resort for such a wonderful experience for our family. We are definitely coming back. Lot of my family that drove 5 hours to enjoy the place said it was worth the drive. Thankyou so very much. We had a blast. This place is real nice. -

We were very happy with the facility and our cabin was walking distance to the Guadalupe river which was very conveniently. Make sure to bring extra pots and pans. Oil for cooking, spices but over all it was an awesome experience. -
Review 13 (2024-09-06 - Rating: 4)
The Summit 8 person cabin we stayed in was nice. The employees were very nice. It was cool and comfortable. I loved to amenities available to use, mini golf, swimming pool, workout facilities, volleyball in and out of the pool and basketball. Proximity to these things are good. They had a private bathroom in the cabin but also large restrooms close with showers.Downfalls.... were queen/full bed was in the loft, so my hubby and I had to climb the steep ladder to the bed. As long as I was sober it was fine. My kids slept in the bunks in the ground level bedroom. -
Review 14 (2024-08-09 - Rating: 5)
We had an absolute blast at Summit! We really loved the big patio by the clubhouse for playing board games and dancing. The community was very accommodating with our large group, we felt like we were being loud but we were assured that the property very large and no one could hear us or was disturbed! The dock on the river is fabulous, the pool is amazing, and all the yard games (mini golf, shuffleboard, corn hole) kept us occupied the whole time! We really appreciated the ride to the top of the river, although we all agree that the shuttle should be complimentary for guests at summit. But overall we really enjoyed ourselves and will totally come back!! -
Review 15 (2024-12-07 - Rating: 4)
We enjoyed the area and the spot was generous in size but the area open to water is small and was on the other side of the park. November visit so most the amenities were closed. We did enjoy miniature golf. -
Review 16 (2024-08-02 - Rating: 5)
We had the best time! Such a peaceful place! Lots for the kids to do. We went through the week and it was very low traffic and extremely peaceful. The shower house and bathrooms, very nice for a camping trip. We had 2 pull through RV spots and it was the best 3 day get away. Also easy to get to the river to float and then easy to get back to our site.We will definitely make this a recurring summer trip. -
Review 17 (2025-01-24 - Rating: 5)
We rented the club house for our anniversary it was nice and clean the staff set out tables and were so helpful on helping us with anything we needed. Our guest and ourselves rented cabins and tree houses and everything was clean absolutely no complaints! -

Very cozy for four adults but not there to spend time inside. Clean. Only staff we spoke to was as we entered through gate and they were very helpful and polite. Check in with all information do/dont handled via email/text. Overall easy peasy and will definitely stay at again. -
Review 19 (2024-10-03 - Rating: 5)
Great location, and amenities. Pavilion was great for our event, pools were nice, rooms had enough room, a/c worked but could have been better but overall would not discourage me from returning. You will love the location. Canāt wait to return. -
Review 20 (2024-09-19 - Rating: 5)
The only complaint is the beds are so uncomfortable, so bring a mattress pad!!The staff were AMAZING, they made it all worth it, super sweet and helpful. The cabins were cute, the pool was nice and relaxing. -
Review 21 (2024-12-01 - Rating: 5)
One of the best RV parks we have stayed in, it was clean, the space was big enough, it was close to the river and has a lot of shaded areas to park your RV. We had one issue and it was taken care of quickly. No complaints. -
Review 22 (2024-10-03 - Rating: 4)
Arrived a little earlier than expected and check in was a breeze. . Place is nice and convenient for river cabin. Love all the extra activities you can use during your stay like, mini golf and shuffle board, volleyball and swimming. Will come again. -
Review 23 (2025-01-09 - Rating: 5)

Review 24 (2024-10-18 - Rating: 5)
We found the riverside cabins very comfortable for two people. The area was very peaceful and beautiful. River was easily accessible for seniors. We will definitely return! -
Review 25 (2024-10-18 - Rating: 5)
We enjoyed our stay and will be back soon. The only issue was the river was low and thats not anything Summit Vacation and RV resort has control over. We enjoyed the cabin and all the ammentities they have to offer. -
Review 26 (2024-07-17 - Rating: 5)
We decided to float the river with our kids for the first time & decided on Summit Resort & RV to stay at because it looked family friendly with activities. The cabin (river front) was perfect for our family of 4. The staff was amazing! The ease of renting tubes & shuttle was easy. The different options of activities to do was great. My family & I left with many memories and have already talked about making this our summer tradition. We cannot wait for next year. -
Review 27 (2024-10-06 - Rating: 4)
Stayed at the RV Park across the street from the main location. The RV sites are nice, spacious, gravel, full hook up. Restrooms were well kept. The only negative is the lack of cell phone and wifi reception. The plus of that is you can explore other activities. We would return to this park. -
Review 28 (2024-08-17 - Rating: 5)
We had such an amazing experience last year, we decided to come back. This time around was just as good as last years visit. Q was there last year and the big reason we decided to come back to this specific spot this year. He made sure we were comfortable, checked in on us. It made all the difference. Cabin is cute, equipped with everything we needed. We have decided to make this our annual river spot. -
Review 29 (2024-10-03 - Rating: 4)
Bed was too squeaky and too small for two adults. We did have to leave early. Our neighbors kept on playing music till 1:30 in the morning and started all over again early in the morning. Music was not bad in the morning but when youāre trying to sleep, it was hard so we had to leave the second night at 10:30 at night. š„² -
Review 30 (2024-07-20 - Rating: 5)
Had great time, staff are great!!! Sad we had to leave days early to go button up our place due to hurricaine Beryl. This is our second time here and plan on coming back! Half of our party stayed at RV park, other 1/2 stayed in river front cabin. Both were nice and quiet. Had a great time on river during day and a quiet time at pool in evening. Bath houses were so clean... low water pressure but did the job š Again, cant wait to come back!!! -
Review 31 (2024-07-03 - Rating: 5)
We rented an 8 person loft cabin. It was absolutely perfect and had everything we needed!!! There was so much for the 14 year old boys and us adults to do on the grounds! The river experience was perfect as well. I love how they take us up river and we exit right at the resort. Super easy. We also spent time hanging out in the river at the resort. There were stores super close to grab the things we forgot. We will absolutely be back next year!!! -

Review 34 (2024-07-29 - Rating: 5)
We stayed here for the weekend and rented an RV spot. The location is beautiful, the restrooms were air conditioned and very clean, the entire place was clean and everyone was so friendly. In the morning we had deer walk out and it was just a beautiful relaxing spot. All the amenities which included 3 pools, horse shoes, corn hole and putt putt and an entrance to float the Guadalupe river. This is a wonderful place to get away and relax, we will definitely be back. -
Review 35 (2024-08-11 - Rating: 5)
Late July 24. Please dont underestimate the idea of staying in a small cabin, because it was way more than I expected for a first time cabin renter. If there was one thing that we had to deal with, it would be that we brought to many bags of clothes, that the cabin had no storage and room for, but no big deal. No need for a vacation hotel fashion show, its really cabin life. Cabins 1 - 10 backs up to river, and pretty good spots. One of the days it rained all day and night, but didnt affect the wonderful peace and serenity it brought as my wife and sat and swung on porch bench watching the rain fall as we counted blessings. My wife, son and I will definitely be coming back again. Who really needs a hotel? -
Review 36 (2024-11-05 - Rating: 4)

Review 38 (2024-09-25 - Rating: 5)
We stayed in the loft cabin and had a wonderful experience for the 3 nights we were there! The experience was so amazing that we are planning a trip to come back in April of next year! -
Review 39 (2024-06-18 - Rating: 5)
I loved this place so much! Were definitely coming back when we get a chance. The staff was super friendly. The rooms were clean and had lots of towels. The bed was comfortable and the pillows so soft. The price for the room was super reasonable. The river was perfect for tubing as well. Locations for restaurants was super close. -
Review 40 (2024-07-07 - Rating: 5)
We stayed in the RV area of the park and it was nice. There is a pool, tennis court, and basketball court. One of the reasons we picked this spot was because we thought it was on the river. The cabins are the only accommodations actually close to the water. Although the RV spot is a bit away, the staff were very attentive and actually picked us up at our camp spot to take us to the river side. Once we were done floating the river, it was pouring rain and the office was closed. Thought we were going to have to walk all the way back to the RV area (it is not too close when on foot), but Dustin came to our rescue. Thank you!!! Overall we all had a great couple nights stay. -
Review 41 (2024-07-27 - Rating: 5)
Just got back from Summit where we stayed in a villa. There were 7 of us, 4 being young teens. We had tons of room and it felt comfortable and inviting. The river was a wash out due to rain, but the resort activities offer plenty of other options. -
Review 42 (2024-11-05 - Rating: 5)
Rv park is really clean. Hookups are in new condition. Shower house is super nice and clean. Great place to relax. I will be back. -
Review 43 (2024-06-05 - Rating: 5)
Friendly staff, and easy river access. Just a heads up, the RV park is not directly attached to the summit resort on the the river, but we found plenty of parking to drive from the RV park to the river side of the the resort (the drive is about half a mile, maybe less). They have onsite tube rentals and shuttles to get you to your starting float point on the river. Overall we enjoyed our stay and will be coming back. Hopefully you found this helpful. -
Review 44 (2024-07-06 - Rating: 5)
Iāve been traveling to this area my whole life and canāt believe it took me this long to find this place. Iāll put it up against any yogi or camp fimfo any day. And for WAY less money. Best value for sure. Itās an old school laid back atmosphere thatās one of a kind. The staff is top notch and the amenities are kept very clean. Great river access that allows for an all day chill session in the Guadalupe. I could go on and on about this place. We will be back! -
Review 45 (2024-04-24 - Rating: 5)
Great quiet place to stay in the Canyon Lake area. Friendly staff welcomed us upon arrival and got us to our RV location in no time. All of our neighbors were quiet and welcoming. The bathrooms and showers were always clean. Lots of areas to walk and explore if you enjoy the outdoors. We chose Summit for its close proximity the White Amphitheater for the Dwight Yoakam show and the Solar Eclipse. Although the eclipse was a dud filled with very cloudy skies, our stay was a hit. We will definitely stay here again in the future. -

Review 48 (2024-06-22 - Rating: 4)
We stayed here for my daughterās 18th birthday. Everything was great. I just wanted to add that the pictures advertised on the website show a big slide at one of the pools. It was not there. Kids were kind of disappointed when they found this out. Also, there is no in ground hot tub as shown in the pictures of the pool by the RV park. The hot tub they do have is just an above ground one and it is 18 and up only. Other than those two things, everything else was great. The gentleman who drove the tube shuttle was very helpful and polite. He helped us haul our cooler tube and he came down the hill as we got back and put all of our tubes in the truck so we didnāt have to carry them up the hill. We will definitely stay here again! -
Review 49 (2024-06-05 - Rating: 4)
Great place if you enjoy sitting at a pool most of the day. We brought our RV out and the RV sites are waaaaaay far from the actual river. Cabins are nice, mini golf is fun when itās not 105 out lol. Bathrooms are clean, showers are clean, pools are saltwater so thatās a huge plus. Overall itās better for staying in a cabin. Lots of stairs to access the river and hardly can bring anything down. They do have a shuttle for tubing, but no real place to just set up a canopy in the river and chill all day. -
Review 50 (2024-10-02 - Rating: 5)
This was our first time we were there for a wedding got to spend two nights cabin are good pools are awesome and the river is not that far we are definitely going back! -
Review 51 (2024-07-04 - Rating: 5)
This place was perfect for my kids and I. The location of our Cabin #10 was great. Just a walk to the river and to the pool and mini golf. My kids enjoyed it all. Service was great when we arrived. It was so relaxing and we will most definitely be going again. -
Review 52 (2024-05-04 - Rating: 5)
Great place for the family to get out for a few days. Fishing docks, swimming pools, playgrounds and more! The river cabanas are all wood with too many windows to need any electrical lighting. Hilariously comes with free wifi and dish TV. Very quiet and peaceful, right next to a goat farm with some very sociable turkey! Definitely spot were visiting again! Very affordable and worth every penny!!!! -
Review 53 (2024-11-30 - Rating: 5)
Beautiful place, peaceful and quiet with a nice pool, hot tubs, and exercise room. Close to Canyon Lake and a short drive to New Braunfels. -
Review 54 (2023-10-26 - Rating: 5)
We camped here in our Motorhome. Chose it because we just needed a place to stay in the area and had seen it on a previous trip through.Very pleasantly surprised. Camp sites are well spaced and nestled in a small valley between two wooded hillsides. Restrooms and showers were clean and fairly up to date. Laundry room with decent sized washers / dryers very reasonably priced. Pools in both campground and main areas were clean and well Maintained, lots of chairs on the pool decks. The river was pretty and although most of the Guadalupe river is pretty low right now there was enough water to wade or float in on the property. It would Be nice if there were steps down to river on both ends of property.People in previous reviews have complained about how far campground is from cabin area and main pool and you have to walk on the road, but there is a nice path that leads from the campground pool parking already to the road just across the street from main area. You only have to walk on the roadside for about 50 yards. For the most part employees were very friendly and helpful.Would stay again. -
Review 55 (2024-10-02 - Rating: 5)
We and our family members enjoyed our stay. The staff was great and friendly. They took care of everything. -
Review 56 (2024-06-19 - Rating: 4)
It was a fine RV park, lots of pools, close to the river. RV spots close together. Seem to have septic problems. Were constantly dumping / pumping tanks out. Overall very dated. Not a bad place to stay but there are better around. I think back when they opened it was amazing but they took all the members money and didnt reinvest. So that is why you can rent there now. Would I stay again sure, would I rush to stay there idk. -
Review 57 (2025-02-10 - Rating: 5)
Perfect location on the river. Nice cabins. Friendly service. Highly recommend. -
Review 58 (2024-03-23 - Rating: 5)
I loved the view and the location. All the amenities are great! However, with it being a resort i would really enjoy it more if they had activities in the afternoon for kids and adults in the play area. Maybe games or music. Competitions and even food trucks after sunset. But overall it was a great experience and my kids enjoyed it. Will be going back in the summer. -
Review 59 (2024-05-20 - Rating: 5)
Great amenities! The beds were a little hard and took some getting used to, but is to be expected in a cabin. We loved the pools, river access, sport courts, and mini golf. Overall a really great time. -
Review 60 (2024-03-26 - Rating: 5)
When we first arrived (10pm) we encounter a very friendly guard that showed us our way to our site, very helpful since it was our first time there. We stayed on the RV side of the park. The back drop was very beautiful mountain. Made us want to extend our stay if it wasnt for the weather. The sites are gravel so we had to get a little creative leveling our rig. Saw plenty of deer just strolling through the park. The park has a lot of amenities, we only had time to explore both swimming pools. Will definitely be recommending to our rv friends and be returning sooner then later. -
Review 61 (2024-04-03 - Rating: 5)
We stayed on a RV site, and we loved the place. It was quiet and the service was excellent. We called to stay another night and the front desk was very helpful. My kids took advantage of the clean swimming pool and fished nearby. We will definitely stay there again! -

Review 63 (2024-07-17 - Rating: 5)
We had a great time at Summit Resort. The cabins were very clean, amazing service at front desk, and loved the option for the shuttle to drop us off and float right back to the resort!! -
Review 64 (2024-07-03 - Rating: 5)
There were over 50 people at our reunion and everyone commented on how wonderful the Summit was. They want to have it there again. Everything is so close by and we always felt safe with the extra security. -
Review 65 (2023-08-20 - Rating: 5)
Had a great time, but I feel like the tubes and shuttle are a little overpriced for what it is considering you can only use them once. Pretty short float for $25-$30 each time. The shuttle guy did offer to let us use the tubes again for only a small $100 cash donation. Didnāt really like that personally, kind of felt like a shakedown. The location is great. Staff was very nice. The house was comfortable and had no problems with anything.Overall I had a great time and would go back. -
Review 66 (2023-12-29 - Rating: 5)
This is a definite return destination in my book for future vacations! The biggest reason for selecting this place was because of the location specifically to everything around the lake and river. It was an excellent spot to fish right on the river with great access for canoeing and tubing. It was not a long drive to make it to any particular spot or trail along the lake. The scenery was easily the best part about this location. The cabins themselves were also very well kept and clean when arrived. The service to check in and out was incredibly smooth and easy with no complications whatsoever. The prices were also really fair as well compared to other locations around the area. I would highly recommend this place for a great introductory spot to camp in haha. -
Review 67 (2024-04-23 - Rating: 5)
We had an RV site, which was wonderful and quiet. The site was large with full hookups. The campground and restrooms were clean. The main area with cabins is right on the river so we drove there, parked, and had a picnic. Great campground close to all the hill country has to offer. -
Review 68 (2023-09-27 - Rating: 5)
We had an amazing time at Summit! Check in was easy, even after office hours. The cabin was cozy and clean. It was so close to the water and an easy return after floating. We used the shuttle and their tubes for our float and the process was clear and simple. We are excited to plan our next trip here! -
Review 69 (2023-12-29 - Rating: 5)
The Summit was a beautiful place. So much to see. The staff, Sara, was most delightful and truly welcoming. I would recommend for anyone to stay and experience the beauty of the River. Our cabin was very clean any everything needed to have a pleasant stay. -
Review 70 (2024-11-07 - Rating: 5)
We came to check the area to see if I like it before moving here. The curtains in the open area, my advise, might be replaced for privacy. -
Review 71 (2024-01-09 - Rating: 5)
We stayed at the RV park for 3 weeks and everything was great. It was quite, not very crowded and you would see deer walking around the park during the day.We did asked to change our site which was no problem. The staff was always friendly and polite.Only issue which wasnt for us big of a deal, was low water pressure.Other than that we enjoyed the whole stay! -
Review 72 (2023-06-26 - Rating: 5)
We stayed in the campground portion of the resort for a family reunion. It was a far drive to the cabins. On the map, when booking, it looks to be near the cabins. It is down 2 other roads and is NOT walking distance. I do feel that the pools and laundry facilities were nice. Unfortunately, the bathrooms are nothing to rave about! They are NOT air conditioned! For the price of the resort, the facilities were not meeting my expectations.I also had issues with the sewage in the campground. Their lines continued to back up, not allowing me to drain and clean out my tanks. I had to call and have them flush their lines. It happened again on the day we were leaving, and I was not able to finish cleaning my tanks.I think it was nice, but not sure we will be back. -
Review 73 (2024-02-21 - Rating: 5)
Rented 4 cabins for family retreat. Beautiful site and clean and comfortable cabins. Weather didnt cooperate so we spent most of our outdoor time huddled around fire pit, but each of our adult children expressed interest in returning on their own when temperatures were more accommodating. -
Review 74 (2024-03-19 - Rating: 5)
I really enjoyed the resort. Everyone was so kind, helpful and respectful. My only issue is the closing of the pool at 10pm. Families should be allowed all hr unlimited access to the facilities in my opinion especially Friday and Saturday. -
Review 75 (2023-06-21 - Rating: 5)
The staff there is so lovely and accommodating. I love how we were able to use the amenities before complete check in. The tubing here was amazing, great distance between drop off point and the dock where it ended at the resort. This was such a great place to take my kiddos, and the AC unit worked amazing in the cabin (we needed it badly with this heat). This was my second time visiting and will definitely be back again next summer! -
Review 76 (2023-08-26 - Rating: 5)
We stayed at one of the RV camping spots at The Summit and enjoyed our time there. It was quiet and the facilities were very clean and air conditioned. We would definitely stay here again. The cabins are closer to the river but it is still not a long distance to get there. The property is keep up nicely and there are a lot of activities to enjoy while in this area. Very close to Overlook Park, which is now a favorite of ours. -

I had such a pleasant stay in the hillside villas. The 3 bedroom was a bit dated, but we were Glamping. The location was wonderful, great views from the Balcony and very close to the pools and river access was perfect. I would strongly recommend getting a golf cart if you get a Villa. The service at the front desk can be a bit crass and slow, but thats to be expected when 2 employees service hundreds of guests. Great Job and I look forward to coming back. Thank you. š -

Beautiful campground. Fun mini golf among dwarf oaks. Goat farm next door might produce some baby goats to admire. Great location to go either upstream or downstream. -

This was our first time staying at Summit Resort. We booked one of the little cabins that was right on the river which made it convenient for our float trip. The river was pretty low so we did have to pull our tubes a bit but it was still very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend staying at the Summit and Im sure well be going back. -

Had an amazing birthday weekend with my family here. I stayed in the RV with my husband, sister and BIL. My Mom, Younger sister and bil, stayed in the waterfront cabins. We watched the eclipse. The Office staff was great! The park is very clean, quiet, peaceful, and beautiful scenery! Recommend 100%! -
Review 85 (2024-05-16 - Rating: 5)
Overall, we had a good stay for a girls weekend. I have been to numerous campgrounds and rv parks and this one was just ok. We brought our rv to stay in, and there were a handful of low handing trees that caused concern. Our biggest issues was that this place is not all in one area, its spread out so prepare to drive to the other half. Some of the areas were outdated and could use some updates. The pool and sports area close later but lacked lighting to actually use them. Towards the evening time most of the sporting equipment disappeared. Its not a place i would plan on going back to. -
Review 86 (2024-01-02 - Rating: 5)
Great place! The RV spots are very spacious. Plenty of room to set up our tables, chairs and inflatable movie screen. We loved everything about it. Short walk to the river. We will definitely be coming back in the summer. -
Review 87 (2023-10-10 - Rating: 4)
The staff is super friendly and the environment is great! The villas are extremely dated, and the one we stayed in wasnt super clean. There was a mouse nest above one of the windows, and some of it had fallen on the floor in the dining room. The park is also very disconnected and not pedestrian friendly, as it has a main road that runs straight through the middle. If you stay at either the RV sights or villas you can not safely walk to the river. We were constantly having to drive back and forth which was very annoying. It isnt, in my opinion, safe for kids on bikes either since people drive really fast on the roads and there are no trails or sidewalks. -

I absolutely LOVED the room and the view. Checking in was awesome and super easy. We didnt even have to get out of our vehicle. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. The price wasnt very expensive for 3 days and 2 nights. Our experience was perfect and I look forward to booking with them again when we decide to come back to the river. -

Great place for river floating. Stayed in the villas so plenty of space for a group, with similar pricing to surrounding hotels of lesser quality. Staff was very friendly and shuttle service to river with convenient drop offs. I think the only thing I would change is that the villas are a bit older so could use some renovation and TLC, but otherwise definitely plan to stay there next float -

Stayed at an RV site. Site was clean and easy to get in to. Q (security and check-in) was fabulous, very accomidating, polite, and personable. The showers could have been cleaner and they backed up while in use, but other facilities were clean and well stocked. It was easy to get to surrounding areas, quiet, and accessible. Would stay again! -

This resort is a wonderful location for large family gatherings. Coupled with the use of the club house and the variable accessibility options for families of all ages was super important to our group. We loved the Glamping style accommodations and the proximity to the river was fantastic. Staff was super nice and the whole excursion was seamless. We will definitely hold our family reunion here again in the future. -

The loft cabins were absolutely perfect for our big family. It was charming and rustic and fully stocked. It made our vacation so enjoyable. The kids had so much fun with all of the free activities at the resort. I would highly recommend this for families. It is clean and nice and cheaper than a hotel. We absolutely loved it there!!! -

Trip was in early June 2023. I was anxious because I wanted Summit to be as great as it looked online. I wasnt disappointed. In fact, I was overly pleased. In fact, if it is possible, my only complaint was how large the facility is. But it has to be so large because they have so many different accommodations and activities. Im not sure why I didnt process that. Regardless, our family ended up being more spread out than we planned, but we just drove to one cabin and hung out. We made it work and were perfectly happy. You can rent a golf cart from Morgans Oasis and they will deliver it to Summit for you. We will look into that next trip. The staff was amazing. Being our first time, I had 100 questions. They answered everyone with a smile.I must mention that Q is amazing. He comes around to make sure your stay is perfect and has the best attitude. We loved him.If you get up early enough, you can catch the deer out and about. That may have been one of my favorite parts. Getting up before everyone was up and seeing the place so still. We will be back in 2024. -
Review 97 (2023-06-04 - Rating: 5)
As always we research and read reviews before making any reservations. When I read reviews for the summit we couldnāt believe how petty they were over certain inconvenience. Mainly internet issues due to city folk who would eat the lemons life throws at you making them sour. We stayed in the cabins for a week before the memorial holiday before peak rates. Timing is everything and offer a good deal. Cabin 10 if available, get it because it has a nice grassy area with a great view and not sandwiched between other cabins had it all to ourselves very peaceful. If you have kids they can pitch a tent outside instead of the bunk beds inside that should honestly be removed. To bulky and take up space that could be utilized for comfort and convenience. Not suitable for group but cozy for 2 people. River access is a long walk down the stairs so try not to forget anything cuz youāll feel the burn going up them. Actually feels great after a few trips. Fishing dock is not available probably due to flooding so youāll be wade fishing. Helpful friendly staff especially the after hours night attendant. Heās cool. So overall if you want a inexpensive peaceful getaway reserve cabin 10 during off peak dates and enjoy. We sure did -

Summit was a great experience. We stayed in an RV and had plenty of space. There were many amenities that the kids enjoyed and everything was well kept. The kids loved the tennis court, shuffleboard, the pool, mini golf. There was a lot of shade and grassy areas. The staff was super kind and helpful. Bathrooms were clean. Resort might be a bit on the older side, but it was clean and nicely maintained. -
Review 99 (2022-09-11 - Rating: 5)
My personal opinion is that this place is great. I found the staff and the overall sense of the property to be very welcoming. The cabin was clean, plenty of hot water and right on the bank of the river so you can walk down and just sit in the shade and enjoy the view. The thing that most impressed me was when Mr Tate came by just before 10:00 to drop some paperwork off to a neighboring cabin and ended up standing outside and talking to me for 20 minutes. We talked about fishing on this river, the hunting in the area, and other stuff. I appreciate when an owner will stop and visit and not be in a hurry to leave I Will Be Back -

We enjoyed a three night stay at the RV park. It is nestled between two tall hills and surrounded by trees and is beautiful. The front desk staff were friendly and made us feel welcome. We were in a back-in spot and had deer walking by us each morning and sometimes in the evening. We played a round at the 18-hole mini golf course. It was relatively quiet when we stayed, but could see that with the pools and activities that it would very popular in the summer. The park is well maintained and even though the pad was gravel, it was easy to level and setup. This was our first time visiting, but will definitely be back. -

Great location. 6 of us stayed in a Hilltop Villa and my parents stayed at an RV site. Both parties enjoyed the stay.Villa accommodations were amazing, spacious, clean, comfortable, and most importantly AC worked really well. We were very surprised to see the incline that we would have to take to get to the cabin but it was no problem at all. We rented a golf cart for our stay and came back and forth with ease.We appreciated the friendliness of the staff every time we stopped by the office with a question or to make a purchase. We are ready to book again!! -

I really loved everything. The location is awesome, the kids loved the cozy comfy cabin just as much as I did. But, The Room temp was not comfortable for sleeping. Being that I shower at night and wake to rush out with swim ware, I brought one set of PJs for the nights. I was sweating all night, even with the fan. No one could sleep in the loft (even though the boys were psyched and tried) cause it was just too unbearable. -

This is an ideal place to get away from everything. Very clean and well kept with easy access to the River for swimming. Pool was also warm and comfortable. The only complaint I have was the river tubing. There wasnāt enough water to really enjoy the ride. We had to constantly get out of the tube and walk/swim. Should have either been closed or free of charge in my opinion. Aside from that everything else was great and relaxing -

Rented out their pavilion for a party. It was the perfect size, air conditioned, with plenty of tables and chairs set up. Main party was inside, karaoke was outside. There was a basketball court and other stuff for the kids, plenty of outlets for all our lights, food and drink machines, and lodging for folks that were in from out of town. It was exactly what we were looking for. Will definitely rent the pavilion again! -

We stayed here for six days. The campsites were spacious and there was plenty of room between campers did not feel crowded at all like most private RV parks. The setting was beautiful lots of Live Oakās around us paved roads gravel level sites very clean we did not need our rug the gravel was not dusty. The bathrooms were really lovely particularly the ones down by the laundromat found the pressure in the ones that were a little older not quite enough water pressure to my liking but plenty of hot water that lasted through a long shower. I would highly recommend using the womenās restroom down by the laundry mat which is what we did once we found them. The staff is terrific the amenities are great we would come and stay here again. Great value -

This place is very nice. Great scenery, great location. My kids really enjoyed the pool and tubing. The Tree Top villa we stayed at was a little behind on maintenance, a lot of the wooden deck surfaces were cracked/blistered/deteriorating and it was scary to think of myself or family falling through the balcony or stairs through the crumbling wood decking. The furniture inside the unit was very dated, but suitable. The staff were very kind and professional at all times. -

Good place for family vacation, the recreation options were on point. We stayed in the Riverfront cabins l, the were very well stocked and clean. The only downsides were that the bathroom- while walled for privacy the walls donāt go all the way up so noise and smell travel and the bed was not the most comfortable but I shared it with my giant husband so that could be a factor. All in all a definite good value, the pros definitely outweigh the cons and it was just a great experience. We attended a wedding/family reunion and having everyone nearby but with separation was amazing and the atmosphere was awesome! Definitely recommend! -
Review 120 (2021-08-01 - Rating: 4)
Our overall our stay was Good. We did have a couple of issues as follows: water pressure was very low and both our RVs had issues with the shore power hookups (causing to run off battery power which required having to use battery chargers); otherwise, everything was great. Another concern was the configuration of the small pool with the awkward slope when entering the pool on the shallow end, since in our opinion was very dangerous and should have had some form of warning. The resort was very clean, plenty of trees for shade, and nice breezes. We all enjoyed the visiting deer groups within 10 feet of our spots. We are planning to return next year and would recommend your facility to both familys and couples. -

We loved our little cabin by the river. The amenities are great but need a little work. The putt putt was playable but could use some TLC. The pool was fun especially the slide. However, the other pool was closed when we went to go check it out. Over all it was still a nice place and we would still go back. The spot is just beautiful. -
Review 123 (2020-06-23 - Rating: 5)
We had a blast my 9yr old and 19yr old girls loved it. There was plenty of activities throughout the property. There wasnt a lot of people staying in the river front and river section which was nice. We will definitely be back for a longer stay. The only things that were lacking were minor, the lighting in the cabin was little less than expected and the pull latch to open door was cumbersome. The miniature golf had some holes that the green was torn. Again these things were very minor and the lighting was rectified by portable battery powered lamps. The access to river is about 25-30 yards from the river front cabins, the river section cabins were about 20 yards further. The area of the river was spacious enough to not be right on top of other people. The scenery was breathtaking, the property was clean and maintained. The people working there were very nice as opposed to what I had read on previous reviews. The check in and check out was very simple, clean up as you would in your own home. We thoroughly enjoyed and cant wait to return. -

The town is nice and hometown feeling. The area is BEAUTFUL! I didnāt know Texas had hills. There were several public areas we explored with great scenery and some hiking available. The front desk and all staff were very greeting and friendly. We stayed from Sunday to Tuesday. The resort was immaculate. Check in was smooth even after hours. Loft cabin was surprisingly roomy and all things available. -

This is a great location if you are wanting to enjoy Canyon Lake and New Braunfels. We stayed two nights here during our Hill Country Vacation this summer. This RV vacation resort is located on New Braunfels famous River Road on the Canyon Lake side. It is an older resort but it was quite and a wonderful stop for our family. There are two sides on either side of the road. One side has the cabin rental and riverfront. the cabins looked nice. This is also where the mini golf course, playground, clubhouse, another pool and office are located. Since we had the camper we stayed on the RV Site side of the road. There is also a pool and playgrounds. My kids are 5, 7, and 12 so this pool was perfect for them. The deepest part was only 4ft and it had a slide. We booked a site that had a lovely canyon/hill view. Full hook-up with zero problems. My kids were able to ride their bikes and walk to the pool and playgrounds. The mini golf course is laid out for 18 holes (balls and clubs are located in the main pool house) Beautiful open pasture and hills served as our view. This location is only 10 to 15 minutes from Canyon Lake (Which is why we choose it, since we rented a pontoon boat and spent a day on the lake) We also dipped off to Gruene for dinner and shopping adventures. Also great if you want to head into downtown New Braunfels. The RV sites were well maintained and clean. The office staff and park staff were super nice and helpful. It might be a bit of a oldie but its a goodie! -

Took the two teen granddaughters out to our old teen haunt , the Guadalupe Riverā¦ found Summit Resort online and booked a river front cabin (gas prices wouldāve been crazy high to take RV in these days) - stayed in Cabin 4 and had a beautiful view of the river and deer watching as well as within a walk to pools, volleyball court, miniature golf and clubhouse !Temps were 106 upon arrival and poor river was verrrrry low (if ya went tubing it took two times travel time and majority carrying tubes across low areas). We knew it wouldnāt be same experience weāve had over the years and are very thankful for Summit Resort and all of the great amenities! We all had a blast and the cabin was perfect , very clean and had all we needed with great AC ! We swung on porch swing in mornings with coffee and watched deer gathering across the nearby fields. Such a Blessing!! Found great food nearby too- no cooking šššš -

Cabin was perfect, easy access to amenities and cozy for the whole family. We had a lot of fun. Service on site was friendly and the extra outdoor activities were a nice addition.I had to call ahead and received notices on the day of check-in to know what to bring, checkin and out times, and what came with cabin such as linens, soap, paper goods, and and pots and pans. The app could be more updated and have basic information or FAQs. The app wasnt much help beyond pictures of our cabin. A baking sheet or dish would be helpful since the cabin has an oven. It was great to have other basic kitchen items furnished. -

My family and I have been coming to the summit resort for almost 10 years and we have loved it. Although Iām not sure if itās under new management or what but I feel like the place isnāt being kept up with at all like it used to be. There were multiple things wrong with the villa we stayed in and the grounds itself seemed like it was really run down. Review 133 (2022-05-16 - Rating: 5)
I think it was best cabin campground in Texas I have seen and definitely looked to be best in the vicinity as well. Cabins are clean and have everything you need, location is one of the most scenic, playground, mini golf, swimming pools with volleyball net, basketball and volleyball small courts, very clean an organized place. I definitely recommend. The only thing I would advise, check the water levels in the Guadalupe river, when we were there it was very slow, hard to enjoy the tube float, a lot of carrying at place or staying still in deeper parts, when flow is marginal. But other than that, very nice place in the heart of Texas, provided that few days after rains the water level is good, try to go those days and you do not need to travel as far as Arkansas to get nice and scenic float. They also have villas, which we just checked but did not stay, but they are also good. I think very reasonable and competitive in terms of price vs quality campground in comparison with many in the vicinity and in Texas in general. Basically for such a cabin or such amenities I rarely saw anything more affordable. If they keep these reasonable prices, i will keep going there regularly now. -

I was looking for a cabin to rent that was close to the river and had kayake rentals. I was so happy when i found this place. The 4 person cabins had water front view and a BBQ pit witch was perfect. The only thing about the cabin that i didnt like is that i could feel all of the springs in my bed, Definitely time for a matress upgrade. Besides that playing horse shoes and mini Gulf was a lot of fun and the pool was super clean. I could find the hot tube that was advertised though. When it can to the kayake rentals we needed three but they only had two due to the river being low and most of them got destroyed. So instead they gave us two extra tubes. One for our cooler and one for our friend that got tied off behind one of us. I loved there service. After the long ride i just had to call the office and they came and picked up the equipment. Definitely will go stay again but hopefully the water will be up higher -

We enjoyed our stay. We had 2 families staying in our camper. Dont agree with the extra $10/day guest charge for people staying in the camper the entire visit but we made due. The access to the river is narrow but its nice and quiet. Trash at the river access needed taken out the entire time we were there and never was. There are some low lying tree lims that we had to trim ourselves just to get our rig in without scratching it or the truck. The pools are nice and well kept. Overall, we enjoyed our time there and look forward to going back. -

We stayed in the river front cabins. #8. Very peaceful. Lots to do with the kids. We just brought sandwich fixings and hotdogs and chips and didnt have to spend a dime while we were there. Drove all the way down river road. BEAUTIFUL Scenery. Had a great time. Will be going back. My only complaints was the hot tub was not up and running and a microwave should definitelybe considered placing in the cabins. Enjoyed our stay!!! Staff was super nice and attentive. -

We loved our stay here. The park is beautiful, with lots of trees and shade. The kids loved hanging out at the pool and basketball court. The staff was friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that the river access situation is not ideal. We drove and parked, which is okay. But then there is just not a lot of dry area to put your coolers and bags down, or sit if you dont feel like getting in the water. The water is very cold and its hard to walk around with all of the rocks. It would be nice if they had more dry land to sit down or at least set your things. We would come back for sure! -

It was a great spot! Had everything it said it did. Could have had a few extra sports equipment to use but it wasnāt a huge problem. Tube rental was easy and it was great that the float ended back at the property! We had a great time. -

We loved it there. The staff kept it clean and it wasnt loud after dark great place for a family vacation. The only problem we had was we did not check the level of the Guadalupe River. Luckily the pool was awesome for the grand babies. -

I did not rent any rooms but we did have our travel trailer at one of your camp sites. Very clean and very quite. Beautiful park definitely recommend it and Im sure I will be coming back. -

The RV site we stayed at was shaded, level, peaceful, and spacious. Our neighbors were friendly and just all around awesome! The staff (including maintenance) we encountered were friendly, helpful, and accommodating. Ive already started making plans to return with more friends and family. Id recommend this location to anyone and everyone. -

Gorgeous property and amenities. Amazing views.Outdated rooms. Hard beds. Not enough blankets.Kitchen is too small for 2 people. Annoying if you have to open the fridge or oven if someone else is in there with you. Group chefs bring your own nonstick pans and decent knives. Their stocked items are terrible. I also took extra cutting boards so that my friends could help me chop from the dining table. The beds in the loft are pretty small for sharing adults unless youre tiny. Be careful with the sleeps 10, I think they may be referring to kids included. I would suggest bringing an air mattress and have someone sleep in the Jacuzzi room. -

If I could give Servive category a 8 star I would! I showed up after 10:00pm. No one was at the guard station so I called the number they had posted, and 30 seconds later the nicest man was there to check me in. I stayed in a cabin, and he followed to make sure I got into the room ok. The cabin was very cute and cozy. My only complaint is I would have stayed longer if they allowed dogs, but it seems no one on the river allows dogs anymore. -

We stayed in the RV portion of Summit, and it was very nice. The spots are shady and wide. We played mini golf which is in the area with the cabins. This is separated from the RV park so you have to drive over there. Be sure to play before dark because the course isnt lighted. We also utilized the river shuttle and tubes that are on property. You can also just hang out in the river at the property. There are always people hanging out. Just bring your chair and enjoy! Summit is a great place to come to relax. We would definitely stay here again! -

This was such a fun resort especially with all the kids! Suitable for every age and we stayed right next to the playground which was a plus for our kids. Didnāt get to enjoy the pool due to a cold front but definitely would go again. -

We loved The Summit. We stayed in one of the cabins close to the pool and everything was super clean. The pools and all other areas were in tip top shape. We felt safe in the river and in our cabins. We will be returning and inviting family next time. Keep up the great work! -

Leaving after a fabulous weekend. The property was beautiful, the staff was accommodating and friendly, and all in all my family and I had a wonderful time. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a place to stay in the New Braunfels area. -

My kids loved it, I had a great time. My kids loved playing tennis and mini golf. HOWEVER, we went during spring break and it was cold. Not the resorts fault but just as an FYI maybe late April and May the water will be enjoyable. Also, the main hot tub wasnt filled which was a bummer because I wanted to enjoy it while watching the kids. Will still give 5 stars. -

Ive stayed all over New Braunsfels and a Villa at the summit is the best! 4th Crossing tubing is a hidden gem on the Guadalupe. We watched the Razorbacks play in their clubhouse and we love their pools. The staff are very accommodating. We ā¤ļø The Summit! -

We had a great few days stay here. River access was nice. Pools were great. All other amenities you could ask for. Loved the cabin. Has everything you need. -

We had a nice RV site. Some care is needed to empty the over flowing dog poo bins. Many were full and had not been dumped during the week we were there. -

The cabin was immaculately clean. We were surprised to see there was no soap or shampoo provided in the bathroom. But the kitchenette had everything we needed! We could open windows to get fresh air in, or turn the A/C or heater on if needed. A bit small, but well worth the price! Beautiful resort! Deer everywhere! -

Was just there for one night but wished Iād gotten two nights. Place was nice and clean. AC unit wasnāt heating but we didnāt mind. When we got there they gave us a map with directions to our cabin. We ended up going the wrong way and the person that helped us out followed us to help us out. It was really nice and saved us a lot of time. Definitely coming back here. -

Summit is a lovely resort. It was clean and in a beautiful setting. Loved the daily visits from the locals(deer). They even lie down and relax in the vacant camp sites. Ladies at check in went above and beyond. Only reason I didnt give 5 stars is the resort is showing its age and needs sprucing up now. -

We stumbled across The Summit when we decided we wanted to extend our stay in the area and it did not disappoint. The site and amenities were clean and well-kept, the WiFi worked great (if you need to work like us) and the āsecretā access to the river was perfect! The Summit has a small store at the front for anything you may need, but there is a gas station and grocery store within 2 miles. There are an abundance of restaurants in the area, Whitewater Amphitheater is 3.5 miles away, and the quaint little town of Gruene is only 20 minutes away. In terms of the site itself, very spacious and nestled between two hills with trees, and plenty of wildlife. We didnāt get a chance to float, but we did enjoy ending each day by sitting in the river and just taking in the ambiance and scenery. Definitely recommend! -

Absolutely the one of nicest RV park weve had the pleasure of visiting! Already planning the next trip. Tubing is out of site great! The shuttle us there at the office and will drop you off at either locations fir really long float, long float or short float. People are very accommodating and rates are really great! Cant say enough fir the SUPER clean restrooms and entire park. Cant wait to return... even if its not in tubing season!!! -

This is our favorite place to vacation with our grandkids. We stay at the RV resort which is incredible. Beautiful large oak trees for great shade; several fun playgrounds for kids; several incredible swimming pools with slides and lots of seating and activities, fun miniature golf course; basketball courts, shuffle board court; club house; fabulous restroom/shower facilities. All of the things above that I have mentioned are incredibly well kept and the landscaping is always nice and neat. Great, safe, friendly feel the second you drive in. I highly recommend and tell everyone about this resort. We go several times every year and have several friends and families that go year around. -

Great vacation resort. This is one of our favorite summer getaway spots. We take our RV and stay a week each year. The facilities and amenities are clean and well maintained. Customer service is not the friendliest but luckily you wont have much needed interaction. Also, be prepared to climb lots of stairs with all your river chairs, tubes etc. We have successfully avoided crowds by checking in Sunday and leaving Friday. Enjoy! -

This place really has everything you need river front entry(a lot of steps) but free entry. Pools (2) of them, putt putt golf, basketball pool table volleyball horse shoes rv section on other side of street they have two shower houses one with ac one without. Deer come out at night. Quite at night. And weekend are still nice even with the weekend visitors. We stayed 11 night and it was perfect for me and my wife. Weāve been staying here every year for the past 8 years. This is the place to come and refresh yourselfā¦.. Prices have really increased past our comfort zone and this past year some up keep has decreased.... increase in price decrease in up keep -

This place is great for families on on a budget. We rented the loft cabin in the off season for 3 nights at about 500ish. Super family friendly. The river access is a quick walk from the cabins. I recommend bringing water shoes for the kids and taking a cooler down to perch up on the side. They have mini golf, basketball, tether ball, pools with differing depths (and a perch up high for mommas to monitor it all), the tennis racket game, a big room with a couch, extra bathrooms and a tv.The cabins have a room with bunks, a loft with a big bed and a futon that folds into a larger bed. I think the only thing I would prefer is to have the ākidsā bunk beds up too instead of the parents. I donāt love climbing a ladder constantly.Bring paper towels, extra blankets, extra pillows. There is so much to enjoy in a small area. -

We were greeted and shown to our site even though we arrived at midnight. The sites were clean and level. Our site was shaded. We wish the RV sites were on the river like the cabin sites. However we did enjoy the stairs down to the waterfront at the cabin area. We were able to float from the horse shoe area to the Summit and hop out. We didnāt use the pool but it looked clean and refreshing. -

Perfect place to get away! The property looked just like the pictures online, but was so much more than we expected! We rented a river front cabin, and it was just perfect! It was clean and stocked with the necessities. After we started grilling, we realized that there wasnt any salt or pepper... one call to the office fixed that! The housekeeper brought us some down. We LOVED the back porch area, and the view of the river!!! Due to it being February, we didnt get to explore all this resort had to offer, but we look forward to coming back in the summer! -

This place is definitely our home away from home. They have such great amenities and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. I definitely recommend it...even though Id rather keep this little gem a secret. lol -

We went in our RV. Sites spacious and clean with a lot of trees. Lots of activities avaible and free. Nice pools and hottub. But I wont return if they continue their pet fees of $25 a day per pet! I would suggest to them a refundable deposit -

We stayed in the rv resort Wednesday through Sunday and really enjoyed it! They had a playground for the kids, a nice pool with a slide, tennis courts, basketball court and deer that would come out in the evening. The reason for the 4 stars was because of the charge to shuttle for a river float. We brought our own tubes and it was still a $17 per person Charge and we had camped with my sister and her family and my parents and we all agreed we felt the shuttle should have been part of the amenities of the resort and not a surcharge. We also would have liked a place our young kids could have played at by the river. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and the amenities provided. -

Everything was great, except for the oak tree over our site that was too low. Fortunately we saw it before damaging an air conditioner and there was room to move over. Deer running all over the park were great!
