This is a hidden gem. We stayed at hearts landing. It was so peaceful and charming. We had a spa tub in our cabin and every night relaxed with a soak. The nature is so beautiful. We played tether ball and football and it was just so peaceful and relaxing. I would suggest a golf cart it was just exciting and fun driving it all around. We also got the apple cinnamon bread. It was warm when we got there and so yummy. We also got wood and it was a good amount and it burned very nicely. We needed help and were able to get a hold of the owners by text and they responded right away and were there in 15 min to help us. The owners helped me to find the right cabin. I also called at least 3 times before the actual visit and Sabrina was very patient and very informative on all I needed to know for our visit. We will definitely be back!!!

We had an absolutely fantastic stay at these cabins during our daughters SFA college graduation! Nestled off the beaten path, they offered the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The peaceful and quiet surroundings allowed us to truly relax and unwind and most importantly celebrate our daughters major accomplishment.The cabins were reasonably priced, making it an excellent value for the experience we had. We rented 4 of the 6 cabins:• Harts Landing• Bucks Head• Creek Cabin• Doe StoweyWhile the rain did limit our outdoor activities, the property has a variety of amenities that would be great fun. We also rented two golf carts to traverse the property between the cabins truly allowing us to be emersed in the thicket.The cabins are clean and cozy. The service was wonderful, with the family going above and beyond to ensure we had everything we needed. When one of the cabins did not have hot water, Kirby was extremely helpful and prompt in getting it fixed, which we greatly appreciated. They communicated well and were always available to answer any questions or provide recommendations.Overall, we couldnt have asked for a better getaway during such a special occasion. We highly recommend these cabins to anyone looking for a serene and enjoyable retreat! And we will definitely come back for future adventures.

Adorable place. Sweetest folks in charge of it. Wonderful romantic getaway so close to home. Hidden gem, Id say. Highly recommend the bucks head cabin, however the entirety of the property is just as beautiful. Will be back!

What a great place to stay, we stayed at the cabin named “DOE STOWEY” nicely updated and remodeled. My wife and I stayed here for the first time on 11/1/25 thru 11/05/24 great accommodations very clean and cozy, it was perfect for our stay in east Texas, during our stay we did hike around the property a couple of times at least an 1 1/2 hours each time , seen a few deer, lots of different types of birds and one night we heard a Owl outside our bedroom. The Collins Family was very friendly, accessible and Accommodating.Thank you from ;Ron & Mary Saltsman

Enjoyed a peaceful night’s sleep in the Antlers cabin, nestled in the Pineywoods of east Texas. After breakfast on the large deck, soaking in the lovely view and all its wildlife, we took a hike on the 1.6 mile trail that winds through the forest alongside the beautiful Bonaldo Creek, hearing only the sounds of Red-eye Vireos, Northern Cardinals, and cicadas. The Antlers cabin has a nice cozy feel, and the property in which it sits makes for a perfect getaway. 😊👍🏼

We stayed in the Antlers cabin for me and my husbands Anniversary weekend. It was the most amazing get away weve ever had and we will definitely be coming back every year in July for our Anniversary to the Antlers cabin!! We would like to try all the cabins when we can!! It was definitely quiet and peaceful and we laid on the deck at night and looked at the stars. It was just amazing!!

I stayed here, visiting my son that goes to college at SFA University worth every penny to stay here. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. They even give you an option to rent a golf cart at a very low cost. Would recommend staying here. Its a bit more than a hotel in town but ,you get a lot more for your money. support the community.

I just spent 2 lovely days at one of the cabins. Work has been very hard lately, and being here in the beautiful surroundings of the Piney Woods, having a cozy cabin to shelter and relax within, and the serenity of detachment from the world was just what I needed. It made my Thanksgiving holiday a very special one for the records. I wish I couldve stayed longer. I highly recommend this beautiful place.

Had a fabulous time. The cabin was so clean and cozy. Such a pleasant surprise, it was decorated for Christmas! This was just the cherry on top! We had the best nature getaway we could of asked for. The property was stunning with great amenities. The golf cart was so much fun for the boys. This place is an actual hidden gem. Great price too for a weekend! Can’t wait to be back with the rest of my family.

I gave this 5 stars because that is all I could give. The entire property is very well maintained. There are paths all through the woods of the property so renting the golf cart is an absolute must, both for exploring and the distance. These aren’t small little neighborhood trails. They are secluded, nature only cleared out enough to get a golf cart through. This is an awesome compliment to staying here. I went with an old college friend but we saw a couple of different families as well. This is truly a place to get away. No problem getting civilian vehicles in and out of the woods after checkin. Like I said, this property is well maintained and genuinely cared for.Our cabin, Hart’s Landing, sat on the side of a hill above a creek bed in total seclusion. Absolutely beautiful and silent at night. Cabin was clean and completely outfitted with anything you could possibly need. I fell in love with Stag Leap the second I turned off of the highway and I know you will too! I cannot wait to go back again.

We have visited Stag Leap for years now, stayed in every cabin and absolutely love the whole area. Mattie and Wayne are the warmest people you could ever meet and they have created a perfect place for peaceful rest and relaxation. The cabins are secluded and spaced apart and the trails are great for walking or driving with a golf cart. There are too many places that claim to be secluded and are anything but. This place is the real deal. Each cabin is individually decorated with high end linens and nice furnishings.

We spent three winter months in the Harts Landing cabin and found the place charming.The 200 plus acres of deep woods and golf cart paths were perfect for hiking and bike riding. Maddie and Wayne are the perfect host and hostess….They were there when we wanted information or help, and otherwise, our stay was very private. If you havent visited the Piney Woods area of Texas, this is a nice place to begin. All of the cabins look fine.

Absolutely fantastic place to stay. If you are looking for a cabin in the woods, this is the place for you. Just 6 miles from town but secluded on acres and acres of forest. Awesome place to enjoy nature and walk trails in the woods. Cabins are clean and well adorned and sleep 1 to 12 people depending on the cabin. Affordable prices with unbelievable owners. These folks are truly a east Texas treasure.

We stayed at the cabin called Deer Haven over the weekend. Talk about peaceful. You are surrounded by nature, the beds are comfy, you have wifi, and no one bothers you. Highlights consist of seeing deer outside our window, star gazing while soaking in the outside jacuzzi, and just relaxing in nature! You will not regret spending time at this place. Its amazing!

We just spent our 2nd weekend at Stag Leap. We stayed in the Deer Haven Cabin this time and the Creek cabin the last time,, and as always it was such a great relaxing time. We had a couple hiccups but nothing major. The ac went out, thankfully this is what hubby does and what we were trying to get away from lol so not a huge problem. A fast call to Miss Mattie and we had a back up window unit and good to go for the rest of our stay. If you need a good place to just unwind and kick back this is the place!!! We cant wait to plan another trip back and try another cabin out

Would love to give five more stars. This is our second trip but our first to Bucks Head cabin. An awesome retreat from the busyness of life. Wireless internet came in handy to finish up some last minute details and provide a timely review. Background music playing on the Dish network was a nice, welcoming touch. First time Ive slept 10 straight hours in years!

Husband and I stayed in the Bucks Head cabin. We enjoyed the isolation and the quiet the location provided for us. Everything we needed was available to us. And if we didnt have it, it was quickly remedied. Only small minor complaint would be the spotty dish service, and the internet at the time wasnt working (which we didnt ask for it to be fixed at the time), but that can be expected when you are in the middle of the woods.

A Haven of Rest. My family through the years have been refreshed inwardly by hiding out at Stag Leap. This is an amazing place to rest and restore your soul! Why drive or go elsewhere? We live only minutes away and still consider it a joyful get away. The atmosphere, cabins and the owners spirit make this such a great place.

Our stay was lovely, we were comfortable and relaxed. Running around on the golf cart was fun. We visited the hot tub multiple time. And the jacuzzi tub was great.

I stayed in the Creek Cabin and I loved it. The cabin was beautiful and exactly as the website pictures showed. Mattie is so sweet and made sure I knew to ask if I needed anything. I cant wait to go back and visit another cabin.

A really great find. The cabins are extremely well maintained and in a setting that is very secluded in the middle of a 200 acre forest. Our host was super and we look forward to coming back again.

Stayed at Doe Stowey. Such a cute cabin. Surrounded by tons of trees. Very spacious, lots of sitting areas, bed is nice and comfy with plenty of extra sheets. The hot tub had a weird caterpillar/centipede like creature, but that was expected... I mean its literally in the middle of a forest. The small kitchen has just enough room to cook. The orange juice and cinnamon rolls as advertised were actually a can of orange juice concentrate and pillsbury can cinnamon rolls that you bake yourself, so dont expect much else. I suggest stopping by a grocery store to buy a few food items for the stay- not very many restaurants in the vicinity and Nacogdoches restaurants close around 9. Call ahead and see if there is a burn ban. I had planned to grill some steaks on the porch grill (provided), but wasnt possible. Gorgeous grounds. Taking the golf cart for a spin early morning is fun. There are a lot of paths on the front half of the property that arent on the map, so theres a chance to explore. The stay was really great. I will try to go back, but there are so many other places in Texas to visit.

We enjoyed a beautiful weekend in the Bucks Head cabin. Talk about a peaceful get away. This was the perfect spot to disconnect from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My Husband & I snuck away for a weekend & I dont think we could have found a more peaceful location to unwind. It is secluded in the woods but has everything you need. This cabin is beautifully decorated, the bed was very comfortable and the jacuzzi tub was icing to the cake! We will definitely return for another stay and the Property Managers are so sweet and welcoming I definitely recommend you stay here.
