Wow. I have been putting off booking here for a while. Now I cant wait to get back there. My best friend and I stayed in the Dragonfly as a weekend girls trip. It was cozy and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. It isnt on the water BUT you can walk directly across the road and use the pier. What a magical pier. From the time you turn onto Cypress Drive you are in a different world. There are, I think its eight different rentals and I absolutely plan to go back and stay in each and every one beginning with Frog Trot.Side note: We went to Johnsons marina and booked a boat tour with Chaz and we really enjoyed it. He is very laid back and he knows Caddo.

My Best Friend and I stayed here for 3 night for my 22nd birthday. We stayed in dragonfly which was the perfect size for us and it was a super cute and cozy little cabin. We loved it so much. Jamie was so cool and nice and suggested a couple of places for us to go in town and they did not disappoint. They had a little island dog named Oscar and he was the sweetest puppy. I will absolutely re recommending spatterdock to everyone I know. The docks you can go on are absolutely breathtaking and the even include bicycles and kayaks and canoes. We will definitely be back

My husband and I stayed in the Spatterdock cabin last weekend for my birthday and it was absolute bliss! The location is perfect if you plan to kayak any of the popular paddling trails and everything you need to do so is on the property. The cabin was very clean and well maintained it felt like home there. We are already making plans to return soon! 10/10 we loved this place.

My late Wife Barbara simply loved Caddo Lake. We stayed in several Spatterdock cottages thru the years and it was always magical. I have since stayed there with family, and the excellence and charm has never dimmed.

My husband and I celebrated our 25th anniversary in the Cricket home. We had an amazing time, including our Caddo Lake tour with Danny Sullivan. It is such a beautiful place, and we felt right at home.

A hidden gem and legend by the unique and beautiful Caddo Lake, the Spatterdock Guest Houses are equipped thoughtfully for visitors to feel like a home away from home; are tastefully and cheerfully decorated with owners original artwork; are built and maintained whole-heartedly by generations. My stay at Spatterdock was way beyond my expectations. Leveraging the kayaks at the Spatterdock launch site, I learned kayaking the first time of my life. Paddling around Caddo Lake was so peaceful and free. Wondering at Spatterdocks docks and vibrant gardens, listening to bird twits at the wetland walk, and reading Dotties deeply touching books about her legendary family at the Caddo Lake and about playful Paul and their wonderful life together, all these make this short vacation so memorable. Thank you Dottie and family!

There’s no better place to stay at Caddo Lake. My wife and I needed a quick vacation to escape the hell that is now Austin, and the Spatterdock Guest House was the perfect respite from the politics and madness my hometown is now known for.The guesthouse feels like home! It’s well kept and loaded with interesting art and photos. The kitchen is fully equipped, the beds are comfortable and clean with beautiful hand sewn quilts, and the back porch is lovely and romantic for glass of wine and candles.The lake? I can’t say enough about how enchanted we were as we canoed 8 miles to the main part of the lake and back. We’re back home and my mind is still somewhere out on Caddo Lake. Our thanks to Dottie and her staff for making our stay special and welcoming. We’re going back soon!

I cant recommend this place highly enough. The art is amazing - everywhere you look theres a new surprise. Its clear a LOT of love went into this place. Our cabin was rustic and eclectic - just turn off the devices and listen to the frogs. The landscape is gorgeous and kayaking on the lake was so fun. We didnt get a chance to do a boat tour, so Ill guess well just have to go back soon!

We had a wonderful time at Spatterdock. The lake is beautiful and unique. Our refrigerator went out the first night and Dottie’s family jumped into action. Within an hour the installed a brand new fridge.

Had a wonderful time at the Cricket cabin with my husband and dog. Really cute, quiet cabin, and the dock area with the trees makes the lake feel like a fairy tale. Dottie was a great host. Cant wait to come back!

That a whimsical eclectic area! We stayed at Spatterdock for a girls weekend and had an incredible time- lots of room, comfortable beds, and perfect for our group. I enjoyed the screened in porch every morning. Just take a walk and enjoy the amazingly creative projects by the owner Dottie all over the atea at her properties! Highly recommend-The Sunday Vespers were a plus for me!

My friend and I went for a weekend getaway. It was amazing. We stayed at the Duckweed. Cozy about also very roomy for two and you could easily fit 5 without feeling crowded. Mrs. Dottie was very sweet and has created amazing mosaic pieces and you can stroll through and enjoy them. The screened in porch was just the right touch so you can sit without the bother of bugs and mosquitoes. I look forward to going back with my husband. My friend and I took a tour and it was awesomw, too. I captured a ton of great picture can. If youre wondering if youshould go, the answer is YES, you should book with the Spatterdock people

We have visited three times and will return again. Spatterdock is very unique and a peaceful getaway from the city. There was cell and Wi-Fi interruption, but this was more of an issue for our kids.

Best place to stay when visiting Caddo Lake. The cabins are fantastic, the owners are absolutely the sweetest people in the world. Stayed at the Gallery with my family a few years ago and had an amazing time. Recently stayed at Duckweed with a friend and theyve added a lot of art to the properties. You can tell the owners have such a passion for art and life, its contagious being there. Will definitely stay again!

We stayed in Frog Trot. Perfect! Came for the Mardi Gras celebration in Jefferson and Spatterdock was a perfect setting. We had 2 families, so Frog Trot sounded intriguing on the website. The photos dont do it justice. Wonderful size, comfortable, well-appointed, CLEAN! We loved it. The weather did not cooperate too much for us, but we could tell that the grounds were unique with the artwork and dock/walkways. We plan to come back. Thank you Ms. Dottie.

This place is fantastic. Such a great change of pace! The cabin we stayed in was fully furnished, weber grill to cook outside, and a couple fire pits for story telling. The locals are all very friendly and helpful. Plenty of photo worthy scenes and trinkets around the area! Best of all, no cell phone service!

We spent 2 nights at water Lilly. It is separate from the other properties, with a private backyard, dock and view of a very quiet part of the lake. Easy access to canoes and kayaks at the main spatterdock location. Everyone was very friendly. We took our dog and he loved it. Will be back soon!

I can not say enough about Dottie and her staffs hospitality! We had such a wonderful time on our trip down. Her place is so magical, with cool things around every corner. Dottie is such a sweet person with an amazing heart. We are already planing our next trip down for the fall. We cant wait to get back to Dotties and Uncertain.

I am hooked. Ive felt for a long time that there was something missing from my life but couldnt figure out what it was. I have a wonderful family, great job, great kids and the love of my life. But I found that missing piece here. Miss Dottie and her sweet husband are so great! This place has everything! Full kitchen, screened in porches, firewood and fire pits for nights out on the lake. Direct access to the lake. Boat tours are available very nearby. We came for the first time last weekend and Ive already booked houses for two more weekends this year. Cant wait to take the kids in April!

My husband and I just spent a glorious weekend at Water Lily. It is secluded and cozy. We walked down the catwalk to spend time by the water. We love the private access to the waters edge. The cabin itself is decorated so cute! At night, we started a little campfire in the fire pit and watched the lightning bugs. When the mosquitoes came to visit, we moved inside to the screened porch and played cards. It was the perfect weekend getaway, and we cannot wait to get back there!

We spent 4 nights at the Barnstormer guest house which sleeps 10. A large and spacious place with plenty of seating in the living area. It comes with a TV and a few games. Unfortunately, the DVD player was not working and the Wi-Fi never connected us to the internet. We had trouble getting cell service as well. So, we were off the grid during our stay here.All the rooms were nice and they had 2.5 bathrooms, with a whirlpool bath tub. The upstairs bed area had a bad odor that seemed to come from wet carpeting that didnt get cleaned and aired out properly.The kitchen is fully furnished with pots, pans, silverware, dishes, etc. There is a boat house about 50 yards away in a private dock that has 2 canoes and several life jackets. We were able to sail out around Caddo Lake at our own pace. Near the boathouse, there is a trail made of wooden planks that allow you to walk around the lake allowing you to experience the lake without getting into the water. The private dock and boat house was a very nice touch because it was included with the property and didnt cost anything extra.There is interesting art around the property including VW Beetles, mailboxes, and a variety of others sculptures.The lady who tended to the cabins was very sweet to us.Other than the bad smell and no internet, we had a great time!

Dottie is the kindest, most accommodating host on Caddo Lake. We stayed for weeks at Waterlily and had an incredible time. Clean, so picturesque, private ... Dottie takes care of her cabins, and loves the lake. Dotties also a writer (be sure to check out The Fireball of Caddo Lake: Beer Smith), and an artist (youll see her art everywhere, around Johnsons Ranch and on Taylor Island!). Stayed here over new years. Nice, quiet, and peaceful. The cabin was very clean. The power did go out one night so we had to call spatterdock. They sent someone right away. Turned out the transformer went out and the electric company was there and had our power back on in about an hour. Overall a great weekend getaway.

We stayed at the gallery and it was huge! Loved it there, tried to rebook but its full unless you book in advance. The owners were very nice. The only bad thing is that it isnt lakefront. But it is so cool I really didnt want to leave anyway to go to the lake😊
