Itās very hidden but itās just what I was looking for to get away with the family. Not too far of a drive and the water felt great to cool off on a hot day. I had a cabin which was comfortable however the one thing I didnāt like is the ac was controlled and wouldnāt go lower than 23 which to me felt like 70 degrees. I like to sleep cold so thatās the only issue. They have bathrooms and showers right behind the tents. -

We rented a day Cabana which was absolutely beautiful, it had everything we needed, all we had to bring was the food and charcoal. Plenty of space for 15 people! Parking was easy, my only issue was the restrooms. Only two porta potties where we were for all those people. I think there should be a better restroom situation. Then we also rented the tents, which were good but some were missing items like a table, and both were missing the lamps. The grounds were illuminated but still. The tents also had a lot of mildew which ended up getting me sick. But we slept well and the AC did work I just wish they were a bit cleaner and again, the showers were a trailer which some were dirty and full of water. There should definitely be better shower options. We had a blast regardless of some of the issues I have but this place is great! -

Had a blast Labor Day weekend! Coming into the park was easy, just have your reservation ready! Got our tag and our assigned cabana and we were off! Cabanaās were spacious plenty seating ! Park was well kept, just needed more restrooms. Overall had a great time, we definitely be back! -

I really loved it here! Itās a nice gateway for the weekend. I went for mothers days weekend and rented the Cabana for a day, it had their own grill, fan, chairs and everything was very clean. The equipment was in very good condition and for just $30 rental for tubes and kayak, it was very affordable.I went with my family for tubing and this is 2h 30m of adventure, be mindful that the current is not fast and there is no stops until you make it to Blue River Ranch. It was very fun! Definitely will continue to go. -

We went for fathers day! We rented a riverside cabana and it was great. They were nice and clean and are roomy. But then again it was just 3 of us.!! The river was flowing nicely and it felt great getting in the water with that hot texas sun! River Ranch is definitely family friendly, lots of families enjoying the water and grilling. It was our first time there but we definitely want to come back with the rest of the family! -

It was nice and clean. The a/c kept the tent nice and cool. They also clean the bbq pits daily. The bathrooms were also cleaned several times a day. However only 2 locks worked and sometimes they wouldnt latch properly so the occupied sign didnt come on. They should just put old fashioned latches on the doors if the ones that are there cant be fixed. Overall nice and clean. The river flow was good and it was a beautiful peaceful ride. I went on Monday early morning, so not many people there. -

This trip was amazing.Me and my family really enjoyed our stay. Kayaking was a great experience.Ames helped out a lot during our stay and I really canāt thank him enough. We will for sure be back. -

This place was great. Yesterday was our first time but it will not be the last. We rented a Cabana for the day. The Cabana came with grill and shaded seating for about 8-10 people. The water is 30 seconds away from our Cabana. It also came with a hammock. It was great. The river was awesome, we just took our folding chairs and sat in the water. The water current was strong enough that you could float down the river without a tube. The bottom of the river is mainly small pebbles, no sharp rocks. Besides the Cabanas, there are 3 different types of tents you can rent. There are also open spaces you can pitch your own tent or Pop-ups. Some folks were pitching their pop up in the water. The main thing you need to be aware of is there is NO general/snack store on the property and you are not close to any convenient stores, so make sure you bring everything that you will need. This place is great -

A fun place for family to spend time with together. Water is pretty clear and I enjoyed the cabana. I didnāt like that they didnāt give me refunds for the kayak when my kid didnāt want to try it no more. $60 wasted. The rocks hurts when your in the water so I suggest wearing water shoes. I did see snakes so be careful. -

My husband and i just stayed at sonās river ranch for the first time this weekend!!! We cannot recommend this place enough. The staff goes great!! So friendly and helpful. The bathrooms were always clean and our room was great!! We will definitely be back!! -
Review 11 (2024-08-30 - Rating: 4)
Nice place to float. Friendly staff. Palapas have water and electricity, plenty of seating, and a hammock. Shower didnt have a curtain; bracket that holds shower head was broken; no place to set your clothes down; and water was extremely hot, which all made the shower experience quite a chore. While I appreciate the grounds being kept clean, there were workers blowing everything on the ground into the river. They were upstream and I didnt realize what they were doing until I was attacked by piles of sticks and leaves. Not sure why they even feel the need to blow sticks and leaves from an outdoor setting, but it made the water experience unpleasant. Id rather they focus on the human trash left on the grounds. -
Review 12 (2024-03-14 - Rating: 4)
An amazing experience - best of both worlds camping outdoors and in luxury. The cabins were well equipped and you can park right there next to your cabin. The restrooms were cleaned throughout the day and was right behind your cabin.Check in was so easy. Internet was great most of my stay. The service was great, the staff were there on the property at least once every hour, and you can address your concerns if any. You dont feel abandoned at all. My hot plate was not working and they immediately fixed it by replacing it with a brand new one. One thing about service was the cleaning on the day of our check out. we had brought out bottles, water cans to be thrown into the large trash can outside, and found it was flipped upside down, so we could not discard any of those trash. They could have waited until check out time (check out is 11 am, we left at 10:40 - 10:50 am) . Im skeptical we might be charged for leaving stuff outside.Location was beautiful, but the road to the location was unpaved, gravel road. so you might want to be watchful of the tires.Otherwise this is a getaway, and we will come back EVERY YEAR! -
Review 13 (2024-06-08 - Rating: 5)
We got rained out that weekend and left early but the place looked beautiful. The employees were courteous and helpful. I would like to go back and float down the river. I wish the river was more accessible, had more flat beach area, etc. we stayed at Sonās Blue River Camp the night before and they had a very nice beach area, Which you could walk straight into. -
Review 14 (2024-04-06 - Rating: 5)
We visited for the first time Easter Weekend. Checked in Saturday and checked out Monday. Customer service was on point. We did a last minute early check in and there was a minor miscommunication so our room was not cleaned and ready. But they fixed it and made it right real quick which is why I say customer service was on point. We did the Safari Cabin that sleeps 9. We all slept comfortably. The restrooms and showers were walking distance from us and were very clean. If you have someone 55/older in your group Id highly suggest asking for a Cabin as close to the RR as possible. The BBQ pits and fire pits were clean and ready to be used. Trash can were emptied daily. We rented a Cabana Easter Sunday and it was perfect. The water was beautiful. We got to tube and go Kayaking. My kids had a blast. We will definitely be back soon! -
Review 15 (2024-06-06 - Rating: 5)
We rented a day cabana, It was beautiful and had all seating and tables we needed. Floating the river was so much fun, took about 2 hours, saw some cute turtles along the way. And some fun rope swings to swing on.I knocked them off one star on service because the cabana didnt have a hammock. We told an employee about it, but no hammock ever arrived. My kids were kind of looking forward to the hammock, so it was a slight bummer.Other than that it was a perfect afternoon! We grilled up some hamburgers and played card games in the Cabana. -
Review 16 (2024-07-18 - Rating: 5)
Overall the experience was great. Im not going to lie Im more of a vacation then a traveler. So if youre looking for all of the four-star accommodations this may not be your place. But to say to say this. If you want a great place by the lake and you dont mind roughing it a tiny bit you will have a great time. You wont have your own bathrooms in your room or showers youll have to use the community ones but theyre for the most part very clean I cant complain about that. Its just a little getting used to like I said I am a vacationer not a traveler but even as a vacationer this was pretty good. I wish I could say I was a tent and woods guy but Im not. But I could do this again and my kids really enjoyed it. You will not go wrong coming here but just come knowing that you wont have bathrooms and showers in your room but besides that youll have a wonderful time. Also make sure you bring barbecue items water and anything you may need. There is a store a short distance away but try to bring everything so you dont have to go cuz it is a little distance. That was another thing I did not do that Ill do next time bring all the barbecue stuff I didnt this time. -

Sonās River Ranch is the perfect getaway for anyone looking to spend quality time with family in a peaceful setting. This campsite is excellent, offering the perfect blend of comfort and nature. The environment is serene, ideal for relaxing and disconnecting from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Fun on the river is guaranteed, with activities like swimming, canoeing, and fishing, making it enjoyable for all ages. The facilities are well-maintained, and the staff is very attentive, ensuring a worry-free experience.I highly recommend Sonās River Ranch for those looking to create unforgettable memories in nature with their family. -
Review 18 (2024-07-01 - Rating: 5)
My sister and I took our nieces (9, 12, 15) and rented a cabana. It was stocked with: trash can, BBQ pit, table, picnic table, 8 chairs and a hammock! It was a perfect home base with an excellent view of the river within a short walking distance. Check in was quick and easy, and tubes were easily acquired. The river took a little over 2hrs to float with no walking required (June 22, 2024) other than to redirect away from shore. It didnt feel crowded at all. All 3 kids enjoyed it!Amenities include- Port-a-potty- Little huts for changing- shuttle ride ($20 with your own float, $30 to rent theirs)- decent parking (able to unload vehicle and then park)Id love to try their Glamping tents! definitely coming back! -
Review 19 (2024-06-11 - Rating: 5)
I had a great experience here, especially for the tubing. My visit focused on the tubing adventure rather than the hotel or its services. The park entrance fee was around $20, and an additional $20 was required to rent a wristband if you bring your own tube, allowing you to use the shuttle after a two-hour float. -
Review 20 (2024-04-21 - Rating: 4)
Just now leaving Sons River Ranch. Overall we had a good experience, although the weather did get a little cool, we had a good time. Spend most of the day riverside at the day rental cabana, well equipped with outlets, chairs, and a picnic table. Grill was great! The cabin was also well equipped. The only downside was that the zipper on our cabin was stuck and did not close. We called service to come try to fix it since it was very windy and cold through out the night, we were hoping the keep the wind out, unfortunately they werenāt able to fix it and had to put blankets with duct tape to keep the wind and cold weather out. Not blaming them on the weather at all, but i just think the zipper should have been checked before our arrival. Through the night we had the cold wind coming in since the duct tape kept falling off. We were offered another cabin, but it was in a whole different area not at sonās river ranch, we were also offered later check out which we had no interest in. Bathrooms were good, close by and for the most part clean. They have firewood on site for an extra charge. Would come again! -
Review 21 (2024-07-08 - Rating: 4)
We had Glamping cabin #9 and we stayed July 4th weekend. The AC was cold, the room was furnished well! The tents hold in the AC during the day so no worries there. The river was clean and flowing. They had plenty of tubes and kayaks. The shuttle service was awesome as well. Everyone was friendly and if you need anything they made sure it was taken care of. We will be back for sure. The only complaint and itās the only one we had was there shower/restroom trailer directly behind us. The showers hardly had a trickle coming out and the water pressure sucked so bad. The restroom were clean and stocked but the water pressure made taking a shower almost impossible. -
Review 22 (2024-06-28 - Rating: 4)
We had a blast at Sons River Ranch. My kids loved the river and played every day we were there. the Cabin was setup nicely with a mini frig and microwave. The cabin was also air conditioned and was greatly needed!! we grilled out every day minus when it rained. The only complaint was that we floated the river and in certain areas, there was no current to take us down to the end.I would suggest having different pickup areas instead of just one and possibly paddles for the tubes to help float the river. -
Review 23 (2024-06-08 - Rating: 5)
Our experience was Unique and fantastic!! Rooms better than what I expected to be, little confusing the explanation to bring your own linen , which was set up to us prior to our arrival :) the mattress were good, the tent smell fantastic, electronic Fire place, great size TV small fridge, hot tops to cook outside simple things, AC is the BEST OF THE BEST!!! Make sure you bring with ya something for spiders outside the tent āŗļø the grills were outstanding specially the marshmallows grill outside the tent we had fun gathering our own wood šŖµ plenty trash bags inside the āŗļø , safety wise I dont know because personally we locked our tent with the zipper all the way down and the lock However.....THE BATHROOMS are located behind the tents is like 4 bathrooms for every 6 tents and some of them may have 8 per every 6 āŗļøs it was a TASK to go to the restrooms based on the fact that at night is super dark and near the Forrest and you have to shared with everyone. however bathrooms are clean and decent (very steamy inside) but showers are inside each bathrooms and plenty toilet paper š§», just it case if you are wondering š¤ if you have long lines to access the bathrooms the answer is NO!!!! Youll always find availability, the tubing was nice however lots of trees š³ were in the middle of the river which became an adventure š but could be scary..overall I lov it , next time Ill bring my portable toilet š» š (be aware that youll be in the middle of nowhere bring plenty food and snacks...a SUPER PLUS is that they sale ICE there, price was decent based on what they offered. Good luck ! -
Review 24 (2024-06-16 - Rating: 5)
Very cute and clean cabana. its a lot of driving on a dusty road, so do not take your nice vehicle. I liked the old location better. Also, we had someone next to us who was smoking and loud music, so just something to think about when brining kids. Overall, I would probably go again. -
Review 25 (2024-08-02 - Rating: 5)
I have never stayed overnight, but Ive been to all the locations and used the cabanas for day use. All the properties are great, always clean and the staff is friendly. Great place for family fun to relax, enjoy the water, and grill. -
Review 26 (2024-03-17 - Rating: 5)
This was our first time on the river and Glamping. Very impressed with the friendly staff at Sonās River Ranch. Very clean bathrooms and showers that are serviced often. We had a great time in the river with beautiful weather, relaxing at our cabana, floating down the river in tubes, and kayaks. Fun for all ages and the tents (cabins) were extremely accommodating. We will definitely be coming back. -
Review 27 (2024-05-27 - Rating: 4)
Visting sons river ranch for memorial day weekend was great. The river and the grounds were clean, it wasnt crazy packed. The only thing I would recommend is bring extra pillows and fly traps. I packed a whole tote for things we would need and it was all there ready to use. Also be prepared the bathrooms are very hot but are also clean. -
Review 28 (2024-08-20 - Rating: 4)
Cabanas are fantastic with easy access to river. Parking is tough if arriving by early afternoon so better to carpool. Overall, great place for lazy river and throwing a party. -
Review 29 (2024-06-25 - Rating: 5)
We had the best time. The cabins were huge the water was great the atmosphere was so friendly! The staff was outstanding. We are already planning our next trip in August and we just went in May. -
Review 30 (2024-06-20 - Rating: 5)
Weāve been to two different Sonās properties prior to this one and I have to say by our favorite! Not sure if it was because we went on a monday but we basically had the place to ourselves the entire time. We only saw the staff when checking in and out and they were both so friendly. The gentlemen working the night shift was really nice and helpful when our car battery died right before we were leaving. We will definitely be visiting this property again -
Review 31 (2024-04-30 - Rating: 4)
Great place for easy gateway. Clean and open. 2 things find they can improve.A lot of black caterpillars near the cabanas. And its not save for kids. It climbing the table and our things. 2nd I think the need to advise properly people who want to go tubing. There was not that much helpful information when we went and we did suffer to reach the end place. Hopefully they will advise visitors before they got on it in the near future. -
Review 32 (2024-03-20 - Rating: 5)
This was our first time visiting Sons River ranch and we were very pleased with the location as it was only a few hours away from where we live. The camp ground is well kept, the tents are well furnished, the beds arent the most comfortable but youre camping so what else do you expect. We were very impressed with how frequently they cleaned the showers/bathrooms throughout the day. The campsite is 20 min from San Marcos, so that was nice to drive into town to eat and explore. The only negative experience we had during our stay was our camping neighbors. We had 2 sets of families during our stay that played their music too loud, we are all for fun and chilling to some music but the music being played was loud and explicit. -
Review 33 (2024-07-27 - Rating: 5)
Just a great family oriented trip. Kids and I originally glamped in 2021, we said wed be back. 2024 we rented a riverside cabana, and picniced for July 5th. We were in B section where as last time we were in A. My only complaint are the families that set up pop-ups in the mouths or entrance to float to the end. You have to walk or dodge water camps. Not sure how that works. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. And even those we had more physically challenged spoke of how easy getting to and from the cabana to parking. -
Review 34 (2024-03-18 - Rating: 5)
Super cool campground, nice tents, comfy beds, hot showers, and quality toilet paper!!!The staff is very accommodating! We had an issue with a large group that showed up on our 2nd day that were on both sides of us. They kept walking through our area and yelling back and forth over us the moment they arrived, even standing in the way of us getting to our tent! We asked to be moved because I did not want to deal with all that for our entire stay. Kyle and staff got right on it and we were relocated within the hour. The remainder of our stay was peaceful, relaxing, and enjoyable. I would definitely go back. -
Review 35 (2024-08-09 - Rating: 5)
The drive is a little tricky, then you end up on a calliche road so dont wash your car it will get dirty ! The cabins are amazing all different kinds . Porta potty between the river and cabins , toilet with shower behind cabins three on one side three on the other . Plenty of cabanas and picnic tables grills ,and fire pits by cabins and the river 20/20 . Tubes and canoe rentals. Excellent -
Review 36 (2024-04-08 - Rating: 5)
This is a great little campground if you are looking for a few comforts of home, but still staying in a tent. We really enjoyed our stay. Everything is well maintained and clean. Shower was hot. Not a lot of privacy - tents are very close together. Quiet time is enforced. Bring your supplies from home, since prices for items such as wood, lighter fluid, etc are pretty high, but they do deliver to your tent, even later at night, so you are paying for convenience.River is just a few steps away and they do have cabana rentals, again very close together. Tubes and kayacks for rental. They have shuttle to the drop in. -
Review 37 (2024-08-08 - Rating: 4)
Everything was amazing besides the beds they will kill your back!!! We paid for two nights & only stayed one bc thatās how bad our backs were hurting!!! The bathrooms pretty dirty but thatās expected from people in & out. When everyone takes showers it can get pretty muddy & slippery so be careful! -
Review 38 (2024-06-26 - Rating: 5)
Went here for the staterday before fathers day. Was busy but you dont feel crowded. Lots of space and decent parking even later in the day. No complaints. Had lots of employees walking around at all time to make sure that your things were not being stolen or messed with by others and golf carts if you have a disability or are older and need a ride. Will definitely be going back and getting a weekend tent. -
Review 39 (2024-05-05 - Rating: 5)
Everything was great. A few recommendations, please do not take the tubes away. I was eating my chicken and a staff member took my tube when I wasnt done with it. I had paid for a wrist band that let me use it all day. Please enforce parking rules. We had someone blocking the way for a good bit and made it hard to unload. Other than that, the place was clean and staff were friendly. -
Review 40 (2023-08-14 - Rating: 4)
Overall it was a great stay! Only glitch was the waiver...I think I filled it out three times online and then had to fill it out by hand at the entrance because I didnt have it on my phone to show the guy. The float on the river was AWESOME. We went on a weekday and had the river pretty much to ourselves ā there were others there but far away. The rooms were much better than a regular tent and a cot/sleeping bag, thats for sure. A/C was a godsend because it was the end of July and HOT. Bathrooms and showers were relatively clean and it was nice to shower after our float. Were going back, thats for sure. We loved it! -
Review 41 (2024-11-05 - Rating: 5)
Everything was incredibly nice. The staff were friendly, the river was fun, and the glamping tent was spectacular. -
Review 42 (2024-06-23 - Rating: 5)
We had a wonderful experience! I think my only complaint would be the cabana rental times. Shuttles are from 10:30- 530, they said. A daytime cabana rental is 10am-6pm. Its hard to use the cabana and float the river on the same day.We changed our cabana time to 7pm-10pm on one of the days. But its dark and really have no use for it that late.It would be nice if the cabana rental was just all day. So we could float and come back and enjoy the cabana. We seemed and felt rushed bc we wanted to utilize money spent.Other than that we enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back! -
Review 43 (2024-09-21 - Rating: 5)
Had a great relaxing weekend. Tubing was great , staff was nice and cabins and bathrooms were very clean . Definitely will come back -
Review 44 (2024-03-19 - Rating: 4)
The only issue with the cabin was the cigarette smell in it. It took a day to get the strong smell out of the room by venting it out. Other than that, the room was nice and had everything we needed in it. The location was nice, and the restrooms were close by also. Ill definitely be back again. -
Review 45 (2024-06-24 - Rating: 5)
Easy entry, convenient parking, and unloading! The staff is great, and the park is excellent with clean facilities, AWESOME cabanas, and easy river access. The only downside was the port-o-potties, but thatās just part of a day on the river. Definitely worth the 2-hour drive, and Iāve been recommending it to everyone. -
Review 46 (2024-06-26 - Rating: 5)
Great place for a weekend getaway. Everyone was helpful and even at 11pm when our AC went out, it took maybe 30 minutes to get it fixed and not once did anyone complain or have an attitude. They helped with smiles on their faces and I would definitely recommend to everyone. I cannot wait to visit again -

This was a great experience for my family! We chose the glamping tents that fit 9 people and it was very comfortable. The bathrooms were a little far but we made it work. The campgrounds were clean and our whole family had fun. -

Loved our stay here. The employees were very nice, always checked on us and asked if anything was needed. The cabin and the restrooms were very clean! Canāt wait for our next visit. We also shared you guys info with friends and family so they too can experience the awesome time we had. -
Review 49 (2024-05-15 - Rating: 5)
Been here once with some friends for their birthdays and it was my first time. First impressions was that I love how clean it was and how easy it was to navigate through the facility. The cabanas are a really cool vibe and plenty of seating.2nd time coming here we did the cabana and the cabin. Never done glambing before and for my first time it was a great experience. The beds were more comfortable than expected since they are more like cots but can fit two adults. We loved how nice and helpful the staff are and how accommodating they are. You can float or kayak the river which was really neat and whats great about it is there arent many houses like in New Braufels/San Marcos. Its more natural and so much wildlife. We saw a bunch of turtles and butterflies. I would say if the surrounding farm lands get sold and developed I probably wont come back because it takes away from the exclusivity and somewhat rural camping experience.Theres plenty of places to go to the bathroom and shower which made it convenient with how big this campground is. For the most part they were really clean and well kept as well. The kids had so much fun they want to come back and make this a tradition. I do wish there were more things for the kids to do like corn horn, horse shoes, and other outdoor activities. They have a volleyball net which is fun but theres normally kids playing in it and we didnt feel right kicking the kids out so we can play a game. Maybe if they built a small sand pit that would be cool for the little kids and allow the bigger kids and adults to play volleyball. For noise. They are suppose to have quiet hours but it might not be enforced which isnt the biggest deal but people did get kind of loud around 11 and 12 am and our kids were asleep and our friend is a light sleeper had problems sleeping because of the loud music and people. Luckily when my kids are out they are out! Lol -

Always a great time! Itās family friendly which I appreciate even though I donāt have kids (the party in the bungalow next to us was blasting music with expletives and a staff member kindly asked them to please change the music which they did thankfully with no issues). Itās such a great and affordable way to cook out, go tubing, and enjoy the day with friends. We always reserve one of the two story bungalowsāthe one closest to the bathrooms (porta Johnās but theyāve always been clean). Cant recommend Sons enough! -

We always have an amazing time when we visit. The river is very close to the cabanas and there is plenty of seating! There are not many portable restrooms by the cabanaās so be prepared for that. Aside from that, I highly recommend this place! -

My family and I had a wonderful experience at Sons River Ranch. We had a blast. More fun than we were expecting. The glamping tents are awesome. They have everything a hotel room has but cheaper than a hotel. We loved it. -

First time glamping at Sonās River Ranch was incredible! We were nervous taking our family of 8 on their first camping experience! From the time we checked in until we were leaving it we had an incredible time and were ready to come back! -
Review 55 (2023-09-20 - Rating: 5)
We had an amazing 5 night stay at the ranch! This was our first glamping experience and it did not disappoint. The tent was well equipped and the a/c was amazing! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Bathrooms were close and cleaned everyday, lots of bugs, but hey its camping! The only negative things i can say are the pillows were really flat, we went to family dollar and bought new ones, and some of the outside furniture is about ready for replacement. Overall we had a relaxing, fun and very memorable trip. -
Review 56 (2023-11-17 - Rating: 5)
When we were there last year it wasnt quite completed on the grounds. But everything else was great! The cabins were very well equipped and being able to park right there under your cabin was a plus. We rented a cabana with our stay right on the river. And Kayaking was absolutely beautiful. Enjoyed the resort and will definitely return! -

Tried glamping for the first time with family and I really enjoyed it. The experience of it was great I posted a video of it on TikTok so Iām sure you guys will get more incoming visitors this summer if not already booked which Iām pretty sure you are.The safari tent we stayed in was big enough for my family of 7 abd equipped with all that we needed for our stay. -

This place is awesome, all day in the river, and the evening cooking at our tent. The guys come every morning and scrape out the BBQ pit and fire pit. Kids really enjoyed their time, as so did my wife and I... -

We visited Sons River Ranch for two nights with a large group of our friends. On the first night, we noticed that the bathrooms were not clean; however, the next morning, multiple cleaners were cleaning all the bathrooms, and thereafter, they were all clean. We booked a Glamping Cabin that sleeps nine. It has four queen beds that can comfortably sleep eight, and one person would need to sleep on the sofa, which, in my opinion, would not be comfortable, at least for me. The cabin included a mini refrigerator, some dishes, and pots in the kitchen, and the air conditioning worked well with both cold and heat. They have a barbecue pit outside; you could bring pre-marinated meat to BBQ there. There were multiple hammocks and chairs outside to relax, and a volleyball ground to play on. Overall, it was a wonderful experience for my family, and we will visit this place again. -

Stayed here last weekend and I have to say we had a great time. I had my service dog with me and they were so accommodating. They made sure we were comfortable on the bus shuttle from the tubing end point back to the camp.We had an issue with some random dude that stole something from my camp, but returned it before the manager got there to talk to me. (It was really weird.) The park manager was on it immediately and responded with a reasonable and fair decision. They stayed on top of trash cans and did their best to handle the ants. A lot of ants so be careful where you set things. We made friends with our camp neighbors too.I highly recommend a visit to this wonderful park. -

River was a bit slow when we were there, but thats outside of the facilitys control and all up to mother nature. Literally everything that was in their control was awesome. Our glamping tent was perfect and clean, such a great value for the price. All the amenities you need right down to the coffee maker.Such wonderful service with a smile from all employees was so rare and refreshing, especially loved Brad the shuttle driver for his sweet disposition and commitment to service.I did not have high expectations for showers/bathrooms after seeing other sites restroom facilities, so these met my expectations. They were small and dirty during peak usage times, but at least they are private full bathrooms and they stayed stocked the majority of our stay.Overall a really fun experience for my family! Thank you! -

We visited 2 of the 4 locations we love both sitting in the river is so relaxing and the kids love it! The tent and the picnic tables are great!! Clean and super organized! We like that is not over filled and everyone has their own space to enjoy the day at the River! Thanks for keeping this piece of heaven accessible for families to enjoy and relax a day away from the city! -

Wandered down south on a summer kick off day trip with the family to Sonās River Ranch!Purchasing tickets online was straightforward and the communications received post purchase helpful. Simple directions to the location and great signage. We reserved a day use cabana which was equipped with more then we thought! A hammock, several side tables, multiple chairs, a bar, electricity and more! We were situated right near the river.Purchased an all day tube pass which includes tubing and kayaking along with the van service back from the end point of the float,Equipment was safe and in good condition. Drivers and all staff we encountered were helpful and courteous. The river was fairly full when we went early in season, nice gentle current and beautiful scenery as we lazily floated for 2.5 hours. Snapped a Bluetooth speaker to the floats, a cooler and off we went!Back at the cabana, we enjoyed lunch and snoozing in the hammock. We did not stay overnight, so I canāt comment on the clamping tents.Check this place out for your next river getaway! -

Went here yesterday and the river is very clean. Staff is friendly and always available to help. There are some parts of the river where there is no current so make sure when you rent your float to ask for a half paddle thatās included. You can take your own cooler and they have pits available for your cookout. Just donāt forget your charcoal! We come here every year and they never disappointed. Met Brad on the shuttle back and he was giving us some history about the ranch and he was very friendly and professional. We will continue to meet Brad and his staff by the river every year!!! -

If youāre reading this, this is your SIGN TO BOOK THIS RESORT! Itās the best camping/glamping spots for me. The cabins are well equipped and have plenty of space for 4 person. Itās clean and they made sure that youāre comfortable. The air conditioner was on point especially with texas heat. Love that the room comes with fridge, microwave, coffee maker and hot plate. Also, the toilets and showers are very clean. They make sure that they have it cleaned up before every morning Itās the PERFECT GETAWAY for me!!!! -
Review 72 (2023-11-08 - Rating: 5)
This is such a relaxing getaway. A few hours from Houston but a whole other world away. Relaxing while tubing on the water was our favorite activity. I would say the outhouse toilets and showers could be cleaned in more frequent intervals due to the high volume of campers using them. Other than that it was excellent! -
Review 73 (2023-08-23 - Rating: 4)
Great place! Had few tiny ants in our room, but I brought disinfectant spray with us and that got rid of them. Loved the small kitchen area and tv when we wanted to chill inside. Beautiful spot, water was little low but nothing the employees could fix. Loved the tent and outdoor living space. The hammocks were amazing to lay in and kids loved the volleyball area. Wish would have a fan or something to help air flow inside the tent. Bathroom/showers were close but felt as if they should be properly cleaned/sanitized more often. May want to replace shower liner more often, they smell like mildew. Overall was just right for our family of 10. Thanks for the experience. -

Everything was great, but tacking on an extra $20/person for a 5-10 minute shuttle ride from the end of river back to camp seemed like way too much. It should be a $20-$25 per-tent charge, if anything, especially when we brought our own floats.Other than that the stay was great! Very cold tent in the middle of summer; which included mini-fridge and a few cooking utensils. Clean bathrooms/showers! And to be right on the river was super cool. Highly recommend. -

We have had days at Sons Island before, this is the first time we have done a camping situation at Sons River Ranch! There were 12 of us at one time or the other, we had 3 cabins and on Saturday a cabana. Absolutely loved the glamping! Bathroom/shower trailers were clean. The only issue we had is that when my son-in-law went to kayak and had his son with him, they made him purchase a wristband for the 10-yr old -- who was riding in the kayak with his dad. I had purchased 4 wristbands for two adults and 2 teens, and thought it was odd that they made us buy a wristband for a 10-yr old riding along with his dad. They didnt make the 4-yr old buy one ... ? Also quiet time was not observed and no one came around to ask folks to turn off their music -- which was loud. Otherwise it was an amazing weekend and we are already looking at the property in Cibolo for later in the summer. -
Review 77 (2023-08-10 - Rating: 4)
We had some problems upon arrival. We had no lock, remote, pans, on top of a broken table, and a hole in the floor with a wire sticking out. We went down a few times to the check-in area to get things fixed. The first man we asked brought us a lock and looked at the room, but didnt offer for us to move. We waited a while on the pots, pans, and remote. We checked back in, and the first man had taken off and had forgotten to bring the remote and pans. We eventually got the remote but no pans. Now, the grounds are lovely, and the bathrooms are kept clean for the most part and are great for one person to shower. We really did have a blast floating and kayaking. I just wish the staff didnt all seem half asleep. We would go again, it was that much fun. I would ask for a stocked glamping tent, though. I would recommend a paddle with the floats since the rapids are a bit slow. -

This was a great weekend getaway. The water scenery of floating down the river. Our cabana was well equipped, with BBQ grill, tables and plenty of seats. Everyone was pleasant and helpful when we had questions on our parking and set up. We are definitely coming back but with more family members this time. -

We booked a day use cabana at Sons River Ranch and it was a great experience. My teenagers loved kayaking down the river, and the shuttle process back was fast and easy. It was so easy to book, check in, and enjoy the day. We loved that the cabana had electricity, was nicely shaded, and had plenty of seating. -

Stayed Fathers Day weekend and although my young daughter and myself do not do well in the heat, we fought it with a smile because it was just so fun! Tubing, Kayaking, Concessions that has all camping necessities. We did the Glamping and were grateful for the AC! That along with, towels, coffee maker, fridge, microwave, 2 full beds, smart tv, outlets, fireplace, bbq pit, patio table, double copper security. Everything for a comfy stay!Cons: all the spiders but itās expected in the area so prepare yourself, the little shower rooms were really hot inside even with the little āacā blowing in so I still broke a sweat even after bathing. But again, this is camping for you! -
Review 81 (2023-07-24 - Rating: 5)
This place is great! We rented a cabana and tubed on the river. The guys also fished. The cabana has a lot of space and seating for everyone, and we took full advantage of the charcoal grill provided. The cabanas have fans built into the top, and there was an outlet with electricity! At the end of the float down the river, you get out and get shuttled back to where you started. We were allowed to park right in front of our cabana, as opposed to the parking lot to accommodate handicap parking (with the placard). We had such a fun time and will definitely be coming back.I would highly recommend writing your name/initials on personal tubes that you bring. The tubes get thrown into a trailer all together. Our tubes got shuttled before us, meaning they unload your tubes at the other location while you are not there. Luckily I had written my initials in permanent marker on the back of all five tubes and they were easy to find! -

This was a wonderful experience for me and my mini family (4 ppl), the rooms had good enmities, the beds could be a little more firm; it felt like we were hitting the frame thru the mattress before the end of the night. The restrooms were close by and pretty decent; they need air circulation in all of them. The river water was too low to ride down so we parked on a rock and enjoyed the sun and peace n quite listening to the water running downriver. I picked a weekend when I knew it would not be so busy and it worked out perfect for us!! So peaceful and enjoyed the most of it all. We got a good 45 minutes of rain but even that was great! I got to dance in the rain!! I will be going back and next time it will be with the bigger rooms and closer to the water :) I really didnt like the main road, big rocks to drive over and for longer than a mile it made me nervous to drive over. -

I am very glad we found this location. My family is not fond of roughing it. This was right up our alley. We slept comfortably and had a wonderful time. The staff was friendly. We did have issues navigation to check in. I drove around a few times before realizing the shack was the check-in spot. Some of the signs had fallen and I wasnt sure exactly where I was going. The bathrooms were clean in the morning, but by night time, some were dirty with water everywhere. It was definitely better than using nature, but would be nice if they were clean multiple times a day. The showers would not stay on in most of the units and the door didnt lock in 1 of the units. We learned which ones to use and how to deal with it after talking with other guests. There were also wasp nests on both sides of the porch entrance to the tent. It sounds like Im complaining, but that family had a really nice time and I would go again. There is always room to improve the experience and will definitely be back if these things are considered! -

Very nice cabanas with Palapas on them. Great for outdoor activities, bbq, swimming, its not real deep. Family-friendly outdoor outing. NO PETS ALLOWED š¢what a bummer. She travels with me everywhere. So, not being able to bring her is a bummer. The place is nice. 2 Port a potties nearby. You can rent tubes to float the river. Lots of parking. Friendly staff -

This place was amazing, from the views to the wonderful water front access it was so much fun. Sons River Ranch offers so many different ways to camp or glamp and the staff was amazing too. The one con would be the restroom situation, now please understand that we went with the intention of knowing there were trailer restrooms but what we didnt anticipate was how filthy they would be. They are cleaned once in the morning and thats about it, I would still reccomend this to everyone but will be sure to advice on the restrooms. Next trip, we will plan on staying at one of the locations that do have their own private restrooms. -
Review 86 (2023-07-24 - Rating: 5)
We made the reservation and later realized there were not bathrooms in the room! I had assumed if it had a/c, it had a bathroom. I almost cancelled the reservation, but was so glad I didnt. There are little trailer restrooms just behind the tents and separate shower trailers also. Someone was cleaning them every few hours or so. We never had to wait for either. The view, the river, the calmness of the area was all fabulous! Well definitely go again! -

My family and I have been coming here for years. But this year we tried something different and did the Safari Tent. Now when I say they are so worth it especially when you have small kiddos and a large family. I have a family of 10 and it slept all of us conveniently. The water is crystal clear and feels wonderful. The covered Cabanas included are great for down by the water time. The walk from your tent to the water is less than 5 minutes. My family canāt wait to do this again. -

Super clean!! We originally had rented the cheapest table since it was our first time but once we showed up and saw the cabanas we immediately paid for the upgrade. I really loved the layout. The cabana had everything we needed to be comfortable like table, chairs, grill electric, water. They even sell small items you may have forgotten which was super convenient. My signal when I got there wasnt the best so have your waivers signed ahead of time. Water was clean and had areas for all ages. I wish Id have seen the volleyball court before we left though. Definitely will be going back again and highly recommend especially for a family group. -

We decided to take the kids for their first time here before school started, and we loved it! We rented a cabana right in front of the river, which gave us a full view of the kids while we cooked and soaked in the sun. We floated the river but did not passed the warning sign that theyre is no take out spots until you reached Sons Blue River Camp. I was surprised when I saw that it had a fan and 2 outlets to connect our speaker and charge phones. Later in the day, I went to check our tent out (safari tent) and was amazed at how spacious it was. We are planning on going back again. The only thing that was disappointing to us was the shower/bathroom trailers. They were not clean, we arrived early in the day (10:30 am), and they were dirty when we went to shower at night they were still very dirty. To say the least, the port o potty we used by our cabana during the day was much cleaner and less smelly than the trailers. -

Such a great experience here with my daughter. Between the kayaking to the volleyball courts and glamping cabin, I couldnāt have asked for a better weekend away. The only thing I could have asked for is for a few of the staff members to limit their use of foul language when around children. -
Review 105 (2023-06-17 - Rating: 4)
The place was amazing, the layout was somewhat confusing being as it was our first time on the property. However the staff was friendly, and helpful. I did not appreciate the proximity of the cabanas as our neighbors were smoking pot. I had my 2 month old baby and it just so happened the wind was blowing in our direction. Our cabana also didnāt have a picnic table and the reservation said every cabana came with a picnic table. There were several bee hives in and around the cabana. One of the two nearest portable restrooms in our cabana area was full of flies the day of our visit. The restrooms near our tent area were full of trash by the time we checked in. Aside from the little things, the family had fun. The views were beautiful, and we would definitely reserve again. -

This was our first visit to this entire area and to find the great tents with amenities for our entire family at a very affordable price was great! The staff extremely friendly, outstanding customer service, AND if you did not have the pleasure of speaking personally with Brad you missed out on an amazing kind, inviting, and informative staff. The river was very low which saddened me however this is obviously no reflection on the camping site or staff. Go Visit! -

Review 108 (2023-07-28 - Rating: 5)
My family and I had a great time! We reserved a bell tent and cabana and it was exactly as expected. I gave it 5 stars because the experience was exactly as I had expected and we had a lot of fun. The only recommendation I would make to staff is making sure the bell tents have extension cords prior to guests checking in. Our tent didnāt have one for the ac so when we got there it was hot as hell inside the tent so we werenāt able to change clothes or unpack until it got cooled off in there. However, they were extremely quick to get over to us and get that corrected and tue staff is very friendly. The only other thing, was we didnāt know we could go there early. We though we couldnāt go until checkin time which reduced the amount of time we were able to rent equipment. That kinda sucked, but given the circumstances, the lady that was renting out the equipment gave us a big discount since we wouldnāt have had time to fully use the unlimited wristbands. The old man that gave us a ride back after our late afternoon tubing was just the icing on the cake. He was funny and a good conversationalist. And also a gentleman assisting us ladies in and out of the van. My family and I will definitely be back. -

This place came highly recommended by some co-workers and it exceeded expectations. The area was clean and well organized. Amenities like portable restrooms, change booths, even showers near a River is great. Arriving early helps to set up and just enjoy the water. We got a cabana this time around for the day but next time I plan to book a Glamping bunk, and also the cabana for the evening. Will definitely make this place a two to three times a year go to spot. -

I absolutely loved this place this is not the first time coming here and it wont be the last. From scheduling to leaving at the end of the evening, everything went so smoothly. Everyone was so sweet and the driver that drove us back from the end of our tubing event. She was awesome and very sweet and kind i dont remember her name but she used to live on Williamson Rd in Kyle TX if you ask your employees and she raises her hands you need to give her a raise .. She was kind helpful and great personality. -

We rented a cabana for the day and it had everything we needed to grill out and relax. I didnt like that the vehicles were allowed to drive so close and kick up dirt and dust on us. I get that it helps with the loading/unloading but that could still be accomplished with a little space. The staff was friendly and helpful and the facilities were clean. The biggest drawback is the location for me. It is away from the rowdy college crowd and much more family oriented however the river is dirty and its not nearly as scenic as the sections in San Marcos and New Braunfels. Its doubtful I will visit this location again. -

We visited Sons Ranch to rent kayaks on a Wednesday afternoon. We came here to avoid the San Marcos crowd and it did not disappoint! Brad, our shuttle driver was helpful and fun to talk to. I recommend visiting this place on a weekday if youāre coming here to relax. There were some big groups of loud drunk people on tubes but it didnāt bother us too much since it was pretty easy to pass them on a kayak. You can kayak or tube down the river as many times as youād like for about $30 per person which we really enjoyed! -

You are able to buy wood to make smores and camp around a fire at night. The showers/restrooms are ok, I just wish it was more cleaning done, so be sure to take shower shoes. -

Im writing this review under my wifes account. We have been enjoying Sons properties for many years and should have written a review by now so we apologize in advance for not doing so yet. We have been to Sons River Ranch several times. Just my wife and I have come a few times by ourselves for a day date and we rented a table with canopy since it was just the 2 of us and we brought sandwiches. My wife, myself and youngest son also came one time last minute and just rented a table with canopy and I made some burgers with the grill. We have been several times with my larger family where we rented 1 cabana AND we have rented 2 cabanas together. I would recommend the cabanas when you have a bigger group, maybe 5+ people. The cabanas are great with plenty of seating, a hammock, in ground grill, power plugs and running water. We have brought our plug in air pump to blow up inflatable rings to float in the river. We also bring some of my older foldable river chairs which I use to put in the water to hang out. I would highly recommend bringing water shoes as there are several areas where the substrate of the river is river rock. We have usually cooked fajitas, burgers, sausage and jalapeno poppers. These are charcoal grills so make sure you bring some charcoal and a fire starter. We usually try to go on off season times because I would have to say for us its less enjoyable at peak times when every cabana is rented. The grounds are clean, cabanas are comfortable and the rivers is fun to float, sit or swim. We will continue to visit all of the Sons properties. We have been to Sons Island, Sons Geronimo, Sons Cibolo and Sons River Ranch. We love these places and recommend them to all of our friends. Thank you. -

I love Sons river ranch. Have stayed at the Guadalupe which was excellent. I also stayed at the San Marcos location. While the amenities were absolutely wonderful, my issue was at night. Neighbors were playing music till about 2 am. They were told early on about quiet hours, so they all left back down to the river, where their music still heard softly. Well they came back after some time and continued the party. Phone service is dismal so I couldnāt get through to anyone. May I suggest that security do rounds hourly? A pleasant getaway for me and daughter turned into a headache that could have been avoided. -

First time there. Cabanas were bigger than anticipated with great area and view. Was very clean and accessible clean urinals. They came with spigots and outlets which were a plus. I have recommended and reserved our company summer event here for over 100 people for upcoming date in Aug. -

My family and I love glamping at Sons River Ranch. The river was at a walking distance. The place was very clean. The bell tent that we rented had a picnic table, a fire pit, a small BBQ grill, 2 queen beds and a twin bed and most important AC :). There are other tents and cabins for rent with more amenities. There were workers all around checking if you need anything. The place was peaceful and we had a great time. We made smores at night and enjoyed the beautiful stars. We did tubing in the San Marcos River it took us about 2-3 hours. Next visit we will try going down in Kayak :)They offer free shuttle bus/van if you rent their Kayak or Tubes. However you can bring your own. There is not stores around. So bring all that you need to have a wonderful camping. We cooked good hamburgers and steak. Overall a great experience. I definitely recommend this place ā¤ļø -

We really liked this place! We rented a cabana by the river for the day and bought the water pass so we could float down to their next camp and shuttle back. We went on a weekday and it was not crowded at all. The river float was a little slow and we had to walk a bit but other than that it was FUN! The shuttle driver was prompt and friendly. The beach by the cabana was great and the water was so refreshing! Staff was nice and friendly. The only complaint I have is the flies! The outhouses were pretty much unusable because they were swarmed by flies. In the morning the cabana was also swarmed with flies and almost unbearable. Once it warmed up they kind of went away, but they were annoying for sure! They do have other bathrooms if you walk up by the glamping area, so we used those. We would definitely go again! -

This place was great! Friendly staff comfortable accommodations and all around fun! Planning to go back soon, without the kids, lol! Well worth the expense and travel...the preteen kids we had in tow said it was an awesome choice for our end of summer vacation. -

Love the location since its close to San Antonio. This is the fourth time my family and I visit and we have not once been disappointed. The prices are on point even on peak season and it is always super clean and you might be outdoors but seems like if they keep excellent maintenance of the property including managing the mosquitos and flies. There are almost none and we can enjoy our outdoor meals very comfortable. This time around we rented the cabana with an additional tent by the river and it worked out great with us moms that watched the kisds by the river, later we also joined them. Absoultely love this place. The Silvas -

My family and I visited Sons river ranch back in August for my Birthday and we had a blast. Their employees were very nice and helpful. We camped for two nights and rented their Cabana. The tents are great. They had lighting and pretty good size fans. Our overnight stay was comfortable, not hot at all. The cabanas were good but there was no fan or electricity. The biggest downside was that there was no showers and restrooms. They only have porta potties and I donāt think they got cleaned out the 3 days we were there. They have kayaking and tube rentals which Iād recommend you book in person. We booked 4 online but only used 3 and didnāt get a refund. This was our first time floating the river and had an amazing time. Looking forward to our next vacation here, will try the clamping option next :) -

Great place for Glamping/camping!!We had some issues with lighting and called it in and within an hour, someone was there to fix the lights. Same thing with portable ac. We had staff out there within 15 minutes to get the issue resolved! I was surprised and will definitely be staying there in the future!! The river was nearby as well as the restrooms and showers! -

The cottage was first rate and the area was quiet and beautiful. My wife was able to relax and revive herself sitting by the river while my son and I were off hunting. We will definitely be repeat customers. -

Sons River Ranch was fun. We usually do Sons Island but it was closed in 2022. We booked a cabana for Fathers day. We did a river tubing experience which seemed too long - felt like it took up most of our day there. Where the river tubing ended, it took 45 min jut to get a bus back to our camp - would not suggest a tubing experience. Most cabana areas were very shallow - we brought our paddle boards but there wasnt anywhere deep enough for them. Its a nice getaway but definitely ready for Sons Island again. -

When we arrived, our room was hot and it took a while before they came to help us program the AC. The restrooms behind our room were not as cool as the ones further away from us. The cleaning ladies took 5 minutes to clean a glamping that was occupied before (we wondered if they even changed the linens). My friends and I had a great time otherwise.I recommend you bring linens and pillows just incase. Once the AC was on, our glamping felt really comfortable. -

We had an amazing time celebrating our engagement at Sons River Ranch. The staff was extremely kind and accommodating and ensured that our cabanas were in pristine condition. The staff at the tube rental were phenomenal and extremely pleasant. The Tubes were sanitized after each use. We truly had a wonderful experience and look forward to returning this summer. -

We rented 2 cabanas near the water and had about 20 people between both. It was clean and the location was great! We had plenty of room. Our view was great, we could rent tubes and kayaks nearby. We had a great time and may stay overnight soon! -

This place was great! Clean bathrooms and changing huts. Large enough for bicycling. The staff was courteous, helpful and great conversationalist. Only problem we had was the address on our navigation system was to a home nearby. The sign pointing towards the river could not be seen from the direction we were heading and we felt lost. Overall, We had so much fun we forgot to take pictures! Lol....I hope everyone has a great a time as we did. -

The water was fun. If u are going for the first time choose B any thing B (the 15-22 in particular). Glamping was a breeze very relaxing and chill. We will definitely be back!!They have expanded area F was quite relaxing the new cabins are spacious and comfy ... we stayed two familys of four in a cabin and no issues being comfortable. We will be back as this was already our second time. -

This was fun and we had a a good time. You dont really need to get a cabana if you have a cabin. People are allowed to play thier music very loud and the cabana next to us tried to take our tables for themselves. The staff doesnt do tubing as often as the summer. I had a hard time calling to get an awnser and they canceled my cabana last minute. The hammocks were bad you really cant get in them. But other then those things it was fun. -

Had a blast at this place last weekend. The tents were very comfortable and clean and the facilities were well maintained and easily accessible. The cabanas along the river made for the perfect spot for grilling with close access to the San Marcos river which was the perfect spot to hang out during the heat of the day. The property manager is Xavier and he took care of everything that was needed. He went out of his way to make sure that everyone was taken care of. We will definitely be back.Tom and Cindy -

Had a wonderful weekend here at Sons River Ranch! Everyone was so friendly, including Brad our driver for tubing. The facilities were well maintained, the showers were hot, and the bugs were minimal. We did the glamping; wow! Fridge, tv, power, lights, cooking items, chairs for the fire! They thought of just about everything.I would suggest to bring your own chairs (to sit by the water) - or rent a gazebo. No dogs are permitted, understandably there is a beautiful family of ducks in the middle of the campsite along with cows nearby, etc.We will be back! -

Firstā¦ I am NOT a camper, outdoors in the summer person, much less sit in the water person. But my family just love it all, so I took a leap of faith and booked one of the safari tents and a cabanaā¦.. NO REGRETS! Everything was so clean and the staff were beyond nice, helpful and very attentive. The water was beautiful, showers in the ACād trailers were life savers and the very clean restrooms were the icing on the cake for this girl. We will be back again for sure! #officialglamper -
