THIS is your place if you are looking for a weekend getaway. It is only open on weekends but we were lucky to get the last tent and picnic table. Our tent was a clean, fresh and comfy. We had a in water picnic table and it didn’t disappoint. The views of the river, trees and nature is amazing. My husband and I had relaxing tube float. Friendly staff were around for any help we needed. Definitely recommending this campground and river.

Great place to come a relax. Bathrooms were kept stocked and clean. Staff was there when you needed it and dispatch available at any point in the day. Definitely going to have to plan another trip with the family

I booked a cabana last minute and it was so easy and quick. When we arrived, the location was so cute and relaxing. The bathrooms/showers were clean and easy to get to. We walked over to Lone Star grill for lunch. The ONLY thing my kids didnt love was how shallow and rocky this part of the river is, but they still had a great time :)

We have come here 3 years in a row and love it every time. It is so relaxing! I always recommend the table and tent in the water. Bring your snack and drinks and just chill. You can even grill out if you want. Have to give a shout out to Tyler. A person in our group daughter was having a baby at anytime and she did not have cell reception on the river so Tyler gave her his number to give to her daughter! Very nice of him to do that! We will be back next year for sure!

This place is great if you are looking for a family tent with mattresses up off the ground. It is not clamping like in the magazines with cowhide rugs and bedside lamps. It had recently rained so there was water by the door inside and the tent had not been swept out. Just a few leaves. The cabanas are nice with nice outdoor furniture, a bar, fire pit, picnic table, fan, light, and electricity. Everything is close together. 6 feet or so. We enjoy taking and sharing food with our neighbors - families with kids. Luck of the draw on who your neighbors will be. Or how loud they will be. Bathroom fine while we were there. The area is well lit so bring eye masks. There in early April - no bugs.

I just returned from Son’s Ranch Guadalupe a few days ago and this vacation spot definitely goes down as an all-time favorite. The location is beautiful and just a few feet from the river. Although you are glamping nearby other people, the cabanas are spacious and give you plenty of privacy and shade (tip, bring a cheap box fan and you will have the perfect breeze in your cabana). I don’t think you can find a better spot on the river with that much privacy anywhere else for an affordable price. The tents are spacious and, at night, I had to sleep with a blanket and was comfortably cold. Also, the beds were perfect. No sore back unlike some hotels and VRBOs I have stayed at. The tents do heat up during the day but who cares? Wouldn’t you rather be outside enjoying the scene and cool river? Also, the restrooms/showers are air conditioned, individualized and private which was a plus. The staff are very friendly, accommodating and laid back. Myself and 13 of my friends and family members all had an amazing 5 day glamping river trip and we cannot wait to return!

Went here with the family and enjoyed our hot summer day in the gazebo with food and booze. Took our tubes out there and the kids enjoyed the river. It was shallow in enough places to walk up or down stream. It was easy to get my handicapped brother into the gazebo and down to the river to enjoy a soak. So relaxing, he ended up taking a nap! Easy check in, did not feel crowded with others, and perfect place to beat the TX heat.

My friend had previously been to a Son’s property and decided to plan a trip for our group to Son’s Guadalupe. We were excited to arrive and check in at the red building with Tyler who was super helpful and friendly the entire duration of our trip. After checking in & receiving parking passes, we parked and looked around the sites we booked (B&C) which included two tents and cabanas.The tents were great with comfortable beds & the AC units & fans were excellent at keeping us cool in the summer heat. Our group mostly hung out in the cabanas together but the picnic tables were nice for meal prep & card games. Overall the sites were well maintained, and secluded enough to retain some privacy. We also enjoyed the little river entrance right next to our cabanas, which made running down to the water easy.The bathroom trailer is really nice and we were surprised by how well maintained it was for such a busy property. Guests could have done better to clean up after themselves but the staff kept the stalls clean for the majority of our visit.Tyler again took care of us when we went tubing the second day of our trip. The van ride to the river entrance was quick and enjoyable, we had no problem getting in the water. Once we were done, we dropped the tubes back up where we started.They also had plenty of last minute essentials available in the red building, we happily purchased several bags of ice throughout the trip.Overall, we had an unforgettable experience and Son’s Guadalupe allowed us the space to grow closer as a group and make new friends. We loved the wildlife we saw along the way and just the overall atmosphere of this trip & are already making plans to go back next year.

We just went to do the 2 hour tube float there were a few shallow places but walkable since water doesnt flow too fast.Would have been a much better experience without the loud competing music for amongst the other groups for 2 hours.

Son’s Island Guadalupe was awesome. We spent Easter Sunday with the family and the guy working that Sunday was so nice and helpful. The bathroom/showers were so clean and the property was incredible. Will definitely be visiting again!

My sister arranged a gathering with some coworkers here and it was all of our first time. Both parking lot and the river were easily accessible from our hut. It was very hot so the fans helped to cool you off if you werent sitting in the river. Overall, had an amazing time and hope to come back again!

I reserved a covered in-water picnic table with 6 chairs, I liked that we did not have to pack our own table chairs and canopy. First of all the water was Great and low enough that it was perfect for my kids, it was also great for tubing. Check-in was Fast and Easy as long as you fill out the online forms ahead of checkin. The only thing that can improve is having the chairs set up with the picnic table, I had to dig up 3 of the chairs from the water and rinse them off because they were covered with mud from laying at the bottom of the water. Other than that we had a great time we also had family members that rented a pavilion. The pavilion was great with electricity, water, and had plenty of seating and lighting at sundown.

We rented a cabana for my birthday. Checking in was easy and luckily plenty of parking when we went. The cabanas had so much space and shade, even a fan and plugs. Lots of chairs. Our air pump stopped working so we went to ask them if we could use theirs, the agreed and happily came and took our tubes, filled them with air and brought them back down. The water felt amazing. It’s far enough away from the damn that it’s not ice cold. We will be back for sure!!!

We rented a cabana by the river for our family and it was a BLAST. The shuttle driver (I think his name was Greg) was so fun. He was friendly and gave us lots of useful information on floating. We rented our tubes and floated the river which took about 3 hours. The water was a little low in some spots but that’s not their fault. We were relaxing listening to music so it wasn’t an issue for us.The cabana had a hammock which was nice to lay in and relax. There was electricity and plenty of space. Definitely planning a return trip!!

Great weekend vacation spot. Rented the glamping tents and also kayaks. Water level was too low for tubes but the picnic tables in the water and shallow water levels still made for a really fun weekend. Was able to take the kayaks down and it was just an awesome experience altogether. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Made a quick trip with the family. Facilities were great and everyone had a good time. Although he had a heavy workload, Tyler went out of his way to make us all feel at home, whether it was ensuring the accommodations were as expected, or going over and above to help our crew get to and from the drop off and pick up points, while always have a smile on his face. My family and I stayed here for Labor Day weekend. We had such a great time. The guy Tyler that runs this place was phenomenal! He does EVERYTHING! He checked us in, showed us our spot, brought us to our tubing location, on top of cleaning all the camps! This one dude was front desk, maid, chauffeur, and Mr. Fix it!! This place was packed and he did it all! I have zero clue how but he accomplished it! The only negative from us was that we thought it was ridiculous that nobody else was working BUT him. As great as he is he needs help! The site is amazing and I’ll recommend it to my friends. We can’t wait to return but I hope Tyler along with new staff members are there to greet us!! Thanks, Tyler!! You Rock!

Super chill riverside spot on the Guadalupe! We booked for some birthdays, and the staff was super helpful. We ran over our time a bit and they didnt fuss at us at all. Nice cabanas, nice tents, everything is clean, not trashy. Electricity and water spigots at the cabanas, plenty of grilling space. They sell charcoal on site. Highly recommend this or their San Marcos River location.

We had gotten invited to a gathering here, river access was awesome, tables and chairs in the water to enjoy the cool water, the cabanas are greatly built with palm tree branches. Water is flowing nicely, but trash like leaves and sticks get caught in the chairs but not a big deal. Parking is limited. You need to check in at the red bldg before driving down to the cabanas.

This is not letting me give a total 5 star for some reason. I will tell you that there is no way God didn’t guide us here. My son passed away this year in February and my heart is shattered. So for his birthday in August we had a birthday/celebration of his life glaming on the Guadalupe in his honor. It couldn’t have been more amazing. This place is the heart of gold for anyone who wants to stay, They knew our reason for stay and couldn’t accommodated better. I will never forget the love and care this place gave in his honor. And the owner himself came to our site to celebrate my late son ❤️. This is a forever memorial trip for us. They were amazing. Note to self, they can’t stop outside life but bring bee repelant I got stung lol. A 10 star review and I pray his friends will join me every year here in his honor ❤️

Very impressed!! Not only are the views absolutely stunning, but the accommodations far exceeded my expectations. Tyler is the guy that works there. He is up and running from sun up to way after the sun goes down. He goes waaaay above and beyond for all of the guests. He is the only one there and I really don’t know how he does it all. We are already planning our next visit and we can’t wait! 10 stars

We actually didn’t stay here this past weekend, but as we were going down River Road, we ran out of gas. We were quite a ways from the closest gas station & their manager, Felicity, offered to drive us to the gas station. She spent 1 hour of her time helping us & was so sweet about it. We were so grateful and relieved for the help. Thank you so much for being so kind! If anyone is looking for a great accommodation with genuinely sweet staff, stay at Son’s Guadalupe!

Pull up to the big red building in the front & be greeted like family. Brandon, Matt and Omar were an absolute pleasure to spend a beautiful weekend day with. The place is as nice as the pictures lead me to believe, and I cant understand some of the very critical reviews, but everyones entitled to their own opinions. We rented a Cabana for the day & enjoyed every minute of it. Dont bother bringing chairs, tables or grills because they have it covered. I cant wait to visit their sister properties at the various rivers! I highly recommend visiting and be sure to save some time to share some conversation with the staff, youll likely not want to leave!

Relaxed location compared to other spots on the river. After getting rained out a while back we were able to rebook problem free. The check in was easy and the people in the office were super nice. Phone reception and WiFi aren’t the best but if you’re will to be unplugged from the world it’s worth it. Would definitely come back.

Spent last Saturday at Sons on the Guadalupe River and had a great experience. There was an Air Conditioned bathroom with showers for customers to use. We bought a day pass and all of the campgrounds had trash cans, picnic tables, grills, and lounging chairs for tanning/hanging out. The staff was friendly and helpful and the camp-site was very clean. Would definitely return or recommend to friends/family in the future!

I booked a last minute in water picnic table for last Saturday. When we arrived, they were organized in letting us into their facility. When we made our way down to the in water area, I asked them where H table was and was told to just choose any spot. I ended up getting a perfect corner spot with my family. About 1 1/2 hour later a family arrived and made a complaint to management that we were in their spot. I would suggest that management label the picnic tables so that there is no confusion in the future. I would also suggest to update the photos you show while making a reservation so that the customer knows exactly which spot they are getting. While making the reservation, I saw an actual in water picnic table, but apparently our actual location was not in the water, but rather above and right near the entrance to the river (I wouldnt have booked had I known that). Either way, the mix up benefited me and I had a great time at this location. It is a beautiful place and their restrooms are very clean. I dont think I will book again, until I am able to know the exact spot I am booking prior to making the reservation.

This is my 3rd stay and a Sons river resort and my first to Sons Guadalupe. I was also blown away with the staff, accommodations and the location! Great job in keeping with great Customer Service! Elli ( I believe that is his name) greeted us with a warm welcome and helped us with any questions or concerns we may have had. We initially wanted Cabaña #1 but he suggested we move down a little further as there was a gust in Cabaña 2 that has issues getting out which he was working through. He quickly apologized for the state the cabanas were in as it seamed the cleaning crew had not been out yet to pick up the weekend trash. He immediately helped us getting it all sorted and straightened up. Absolutely will add this location to book again for our work outings! Great job all!

I recently booked a cabana for my family. We got rained out. Traveled in from out of town. So frustrated. That said, the staff on site (Clay) were amazing - accommodating and supportive. Their customer service, via email (Christy), was TIMELY AND RESPONSIVE. I got a rain check and we will be going FOR SURE and I will be taking more family members with me... the location and cleanliness of the facilities were on point! Great summer destination!!! You must book with them!

We had a great time once we got to the right location! Make sure to pay very close attention to the address in your email confirmation... We made the mistake of searching on google maps and not using the address in the email and showed up at their other location on the east side of 35 instead of the west location. Other than that little faux pas, our canopy set up was just what we needed! We had access to multiple grills and water! We highly recommend this place!! We will definitely be back soon!

So we rented a cabana here and to me I feel like I wasted the money only becuz we did a float trip and only used it for roughly a hour and half. But if your going to be in it with kids or older family its a good rental.only thing are they seem really close but the staff is always around area and such great attitudes and customer service. I experienced none of that, it was completely the opposite everyone was super helpful and keeping the place tidy while makin sure everything was set up and ready. Great place for family fun. Cabanas worth the price. BBQ pit, water, electrical outlet, seating for everyone. Great way to spend the day right on the water.

This place is great. Family friendly coverings to escape the sun and be at the river. There are cabana coverings along with places to sit in the water with coverings. Even teepees to sleep overnight.
