We went to Sandhaven Outback April 26 through April 30 to celebrate my husband’s birthday. We had previously stayed at their VRBO property called Silverthorn. This time we stayed in the Bunkhouse on the same Ranch. We liked it better. It has a quaint cottage feel, and even though it is smaller, it has a large outdoor patio and covered arbor. It is filled with antiques and tastefully decorated. It includes all the necessary amenities and our hosts stock the refrigerator with condiments and many food staples. From the bunkhouse windows and outdoor space we could watch the horses, including the baby colts. We could follow the workings of the ranch and found the experience to be very relaxing. It was easy to take excursions to small towns close by: Elgin, Taylor, Paige, Bastrop, Roundtop, Lockhart, etc. Austin is 45 minutes away. We have every intention of going back. The experience was delightful.
