We had an amazing time at the River Road Treehouses! Our family is already planning our next visit, we didnt want to leave! We rented TH1 and TH2 and both were very cozy and accommodating. The scenery from the deck was beautiful, with many deer sightings! A great way to break in the morning with our coffee while watching. -

We stayed in Sky View cabin #1. We liked how quiet the property was. The interior was clean and very well decorated. The porch was amazing! May we recommend a cutting board in the kitchen to preserve the counter tops? Overall, it was a lovely experience and we would like to stay at one of the treehouses in the future! -

The location was great and I must say this was the perfect getaway for my fiancĆ©ās birthday. The only issue is we only had one chair on the patio and it would have been nice to have both. Also, you are charged a cleaning fee and will be charged if you leave any dirty dishes- that doesnāt make sense to me since the cleaning fee is pretty hefty. -

Great treehouse off River Road going towards Canyon Lake from new Braunfels. Comfortable for four people to sleep comfortably. Has a back deck with the grill and good view. Thereās one bathroom with a shower, a kitchen, the upstairs has two twin beds, and downstairs has one king size bed, with couches in the living room, and a cot folded up in a closet if needed. Thereās WiFi and a SmartTV living room, and downstairs bedroom and a third one in the upstairs loft accessed by the spiral staircase. Great place to spend the night during the peaceful winter season. -

Overall, the River Road Sky Cabins are amazing and we had a great time celebrating my birthday there. The cabin itself was very clean, and had everything we needed. Plates, cups, silverware, microwave, full size fridge, and even a small table top burner to cook breakfast in.There were 2 small issues when we first got there, the remote control for the AC was almost completely dead, so we couldnt adjust the AC to our liking. After looking in the kitchen drawers, we found some replacement batteries, so that problem was solved very quickly. The other and bigger issue was the bathroom sink wasnt draining properly. I ended up pulling out the stopper and removing a ton of hair and who knows what else. I feel like this is something that should be checked and cleaned regularly. On to more positives. The view from the balcony is absolutely amazing. We enjoyed having drinks put there and listening to our music. Another plus is you are able to launch and float the river from the property. Huge plus not having to load everything up and drive somewhere else. And/or pay a shuttle fee. When you get out, you just request ab Uber back, or offer someone $10-$20 bucks to bring you back. (This is what we did, as everyone out there was very friendly) A word of advice, the water was very shallow where we got in and there are huge rocks. If you lift your butt up out of your float, you will be fine. This only lasts for about 30-40 yards. All in all, we had a blast and would definitely return. The 2 minor inconveniences werent that big of a deal. -

I had a wonderful stay at this cabin! The environment was incredibly soothing and relaxing, with a calm lake and the most beautiful sunset views. It was the perfect getaway. Plus, its location was greatājust a short drive to some fantastic BBQ spots (The Real Pit BBQ is a must-try!). The cabin had a cozy, rustic charm, though a touch of air freshener might help with the woody scent. Overall, a fantastic experience, and Iād definitely stay here again! -

Wonderful place to getaway. Not far at all from restaurants and shopping. I was there with friends to go trout fishing. We had a great time. Love this place. I already showed my wife and she wants to do a trip in the spring. -
Review 8 (2024-08-03 - Rating: 5)
Beautiful stay! We will most definitely be back! Staff and maintenance were quick to solve a wasp problem, thanks!! Bring an extra blanket or two if you are having more than 3 per cabin. These are views from cabin #5. Parking does fit trucks (mine is a silverado) -

Absolutely loved staying at River Road Treehouses. We had the Whippoorwill Haus. Clean, and welcoming. Our host was very responsive and helpful! This was a last second booking and it went amazingly smooth. The entire process only took from beginning to having everything signed, paid and on our way to the tree houses less than an hour! I highly recommend River Road Treehouses! The only con that I could even say about the place; there was no water in the river! That definitely wasnt something they can control! Five starsāāāāā -
Review 10 (2024-02-06 - Rating: 4)
I would have given this a 5 star just because it rained while we were there and the stairs for the loft was so tiny we couldnāt get up there itās not for adults, they also charge a cleaning fee and we still have to clean. Other than that it was a beautiful scenery kids loved waking up to deer in the mornings, it was quiet, peaceful and beds were very comfortable. We had a great weekend overall. -
Review 11 (2024-05-10 - Rating: 5)
It was clean and comfortable. The large dining table is a plus for large groups. I will say that the staircase to the loft is very steep and narrow. I would not advise anyone to sleep in the loft that may have vertigo, fear of heights, or who may need to get the restroom in the middle of the night and lack the coordination to maneuver it in the dark. Otherwise, it is within walking distance to the river, and it is very close to a grocery store, local restraunts, tubing outfitters, the Canyon Lake Gorge, and Gruene. -
Review 12 (2025-02-09 - Rating: 5)
The place was nice and clean, and the view from the balcony was wonderful! Checking in and out was easy, and the text updates made things hassle free. Communication has been very professional, and Amber has been very nice to work with. I would definitely recommend this place, and will be coming back in the future! -
Review 13 (2025-01-03 - Rating: 4)
Such a cute little place to stay! Great views and relatively quiet. Cabin was stocked with all the basics for showering and cooking. The only complaint was difficulty with getting the plug-in stovetop to work consistently. There is however a microwave and full-sized fridge. Thereās a nice hammock for outdoor lounging and easy water access! The property owners were very commutative and made the stay very easy! -
Review 14 (2024-07-25 - Rating: 4)
The tree house was amazing. The family had a great time. The river access wasnt the best. But all in all. Definitely come back again. Thanks for the hospitality! -
Review 15 (2025-01-16 - Rating: 5)
The sky cabins were perfect for a weekend fishing trip. I highly recommend this place for river access and comfort. Make sure to bring cooking necessities. Great place and I plan on coming back in a week or two for more fishing! -

Review 17 (2024-04-26 - Rating: 5)
Very comfortable and clean, spacious bedrooms and living area. The kitchen has all the basic to cook: stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator and coffee maker! We loved the terrace with table and benches to dine outside. Walking distance from the river, and minutes away from many fun places. We had a great stay! -
Review 18 (2024-10-24 - Rating: 5)
My husband, son and I all stayed here and we liked it so much we renewed for another night! Super cute private balcony and my son loved the loft upstairs. I loved that they were pet friendly so we brought our dog too (large breed). If youāre looking for a cute spot thatās just a stones throw from the river, than this is your place! -
Review 19 (2022-06-10 - Rating: 5)
AMAZING! Beautiful treehouse!! (Early June stay) My kids and I LOVED staying here. The house was adorable and very well kept. Beds were comfy. The kids enjoyed playing in the dry creek and the horse on the property behind the treehouses would come up and eat apples from our hands and let us pet him! Lots of deer to see back there too. Thereās a trail that runs parallel to the road that takes you to the hammocks and river. Perfect little spot for my toddler to play.I canāt think of a single complaint. (Do keep your eyes open snakes as they say, we saw one small one).I absolutely loved being here and would come again! -
Review 20 (2018-04-09 - Rating: 4)
I actually thought this was a really cool idea. We stayed in the tree house that was on the street side. We took a walk down in the dry creek bed over to the river. The Treehouse was clean. There are lots of Windows out towards the Dry Creek bed so the views are great. They ask you to wash your own dishes which I didnt love. Do they not come in and wash them to make sure that theyre clean? Overall it was wonderful and very romantic. Christmas lights are run along all the walkways in around the decks and come on in the evening. It looks really nice. -
Review 21 (2023-10-22 - Rating: 5)
Took my girlfriend here it was a bucket list item for her 50th birthday and it was a fabulous experienc quiet and restful. If we wanted to do more, theres plenty activities within a half an hour ride to keep us busy for days but we just wanted to kick back and enjoy the peace and quiet. We will definitely return! -
Review 22 (2024-12-01 - Rating: 5)
We stayed in La Casita tree house. It was amazing. Perfect place to reconnect with nature. A lot of deers, squirrels, wild turkeys, birds. The cabin has a great space and all you need to have a wonderful time with family or friends. The private deck has a beautiful view, barbecue pit with tables and chairs, perfect to eat outside.Definitely we want to go again for more days. -
Review 23 (2024-09-24 - Rating: 5)
Really great location and brand new elevated sky cabins. Clean, spacious, kitchenette, large comfortable king bed, pullout sofa, A/C, hammock under the cabin. Plus a great balcony to watch the river! The park has great stair entry to the river, firepits and chairs, with fairy lights lighting the way. -
Review 24 (2025-01-02 - Rating: 5)
It was quaint cabin, perfect for parents of teenagers. Adults can sleep downstairs on the comfortable bed and teens get a space up the spiral staircase, with 2 full bed and a cozy loveseat. Plenty of space in the living area to gather and play games. -
Review 25 (2024-08-03 - Rating: 5)

Review 26 (2022-08-13 - Rating: 5)
Our family had such an amazing time! The RiverRoad Treehouses are a perfect getaway from the city. You have beautiful homes to choose from, right across the street from the river & everything you need is provided for you.We were able to comfortably house 6 adults, 2 babies & a 10 year old.Very clean & staff were welcoming. The checkin process was smooth & done through an app that they provided all the details you could want including nearby attractions, restaurants & stores for last minute grabs.I work in the hotel industry & would gladly choose this property again. I have literally shown & told everyone I know that this is the perfect getaway. You have access to WiFi, smart TVās, cable, DVD player. A/C in Texas heat is a must & these Treehouses are perfection! -
Review 27 (2025-01-09 - Rating: 4)
The treehouse was beautiful, very rustic. It was well stocked with everything you might need. Outside it was quiet and very relaxing. The only problem we encountered was the TV in the great room would not connect to the internet. The only help we received when we texted management was unplug the internet then plug it back in. When we responded that did not resolve the issue, no response. -
Review 28 (2025-02-08 - Rating: 5)
Loved our stay! Beautiful river access, the cabins were cute and felt safe. Will definitely stay again! -
Review 29 (2025-01-26 - Rating: 5)
Really enjoyed the stay for an anniversary getaway. Clean, quiet, cute, comfortable with a warm cottage atmosphere. We plan to return. -
Review 30 (2024-11-24 - Rating: 4)
Beautiful area beside the river. Nice home, quiet, we enjoyed our stay. -
Review 31 (2022-01-30 - Rating: 5)
The houses actually face the road. You cant necessarily see it, but you can hear it. The back of the property is a big field with tons of deer and even Axis deer. The creek was dry and pretty steep to get down to it. The spiral staircase inside the Cardinal Casita was very narrow and difficult for us to come up and down. There is only one mirror in the bathroom for getting ready. Each room has its own heater/air conditioning, and they are remote-controlled. The house is very nice and it has plenty of room. I would suggest using the wagons at the property because we got winded carrying all our things inside. Overall we enjoyed our girls trip and I would highly recommend for a peaceful getaway. -
Review 32 (2018-12-03 - Rating: 5)
This was one of the best destinations I have been to in a long time. Facilities were clean, fun environment, lots to do, great for all ages. I took my wife and 4 kids and we had a blast. There was even a bbq pit on the deck with charcoal ready to go! I didnt have to bring much and this place had everything we would have needed. My wife said it was more romantic than a boutique hotel from Fredricksburg! This place was close to home and easy to get to but it felt like we were in some remote part of the world. -
Review 33 (2022-05-19 - Rating: 5)
This VRBO far exceeded our expectations! The place was immaculately clean when we arrived. Directions and suggestions for the stay were perfect. Temperature inside the treehouse was COOL. The river access (Guadalupe River) was just steps away from the front door. Great rental! -
Review 34 (2023-11-20 - Rating: 4)
Unfortunately we couldnāt give it a 5 star rating but it had nothing to do with the accommodationsā¦ it rained the whole time we were thereā¦ We will definitely be back during hotter weather.. Everything we saw was great for dryer weather unless you wanted to brave the rain and try and outdoor pit or just to try and stay warm at their bigger pits for roasting sāmores or a few hot dogs .. Everything that was in the treehouse was great .. loved that it had its own bathroom .. its Glamping at its bestā¦. -
Review 35 (2024-09-25 - Rating: 5)
Rented sky cabin 1 by the river for our 36th anniversary. Cabin was excellent . The office was very professional and courteous. The only thing was the water level but thats nature . Definitely recommend, hopefully we get some rain to end this drought and bring the water back to the normal level -
Review 36 (2018-11-18 - Rating: 5)
Such an amazing place for a quiet, serene, romantic getaway. Enjoy the hill country in all its glory. The treehouses are very comfortable. They provide all the necessary modern amenities - digital locks, internet, fully stocked kitchen, Italian shower walk-in, to name a few and yet are secluded and tucked away in nature.Though they are not exactly on the bank of river Guadalupe, but it is right across. Will highly recommend it. -
Review 37 (2025-01-15 - Rating: 5)
Beautiful place. Great communication. Easy access to the River for fishing/floating. Enough town close but not too much. -
Review 38 (2019-10-23 - Rating: 5)
Quiet, Beautiful views, and wild life what more can you as for? Fully stocked kitchen, including coffee. Everything was perfect. Seeing deer first thing in the mornings or evenings or watching young playful foxes run around the area, all was breathtaking. We just loved everything about this place. The only drawback I saw was that the main door leading into the house had not curtains to keep people from looking in no matter what time of day or night. Same with the shower area. Although it was thick and curved it still allowed anyone to see you if you were showering. In both areas it would have been better to have frosted glass or curtains of sorts to keep prying eyes out. I would recommend this place to anyone young or seasoned to come here for the best time to relax and enjoy yourselves. -
Review 39 (2024-12-27 - Rating: 5)
The treehouse cabin was a great fit for our family. We really enjoyed fishing in the river and the bridges and decks are really neat. -
Review 40 (2024-11-28 - Rating: 5)
This cabin was great! It was perfectly located to the river where we setting in to fish. I will absolutely stay here again if it is available. -
Review 41 (2024-06-30 - Rating: 5)

Review 42 (2024-08-23 - Rating: 5)
Amazing place. Stayed in sky cabin #5. Great place for a weekend getaway. The river park was convenient and nicely lit at night. The views were nice and tranquil. The cabin had all the necessary amenities...towels, soap, dish soap, utensil, extra trash bags. All communication was done through text and received door code through text on the day of check in. Cabins do sway a bit and can definitely feel when someone is walking around. Makes you feel like you are spending the night in a treehouse.River access was great and an awesome sgallow spot to put chairs and have your feet in the water. Will definitely be back! -
Review 43 (2017-11-19 - Rating: 4)
Lovely scenery and serenity. Really beautiful property but some hits and misses. The exterior lighting doesnt work which was in a review from a year ago. Scary to think that no one managing this property took the time to fix the lights. Housekeeping showed up early to ask if we were leaving, which was weird. I was very shocked they didnt have sugar for the coffee but there were two things of salt and pepper. I would certainly return but would request the lighting be fixed. -
Review 44 (2024-06-09 - Rating: 5)
Absolutely loved my visit to the location. Hospitality was five-star. Every staff member was so accommodating and helpful. No pressure, very relaxed. There was no remote to the upstairs TV, and I called to ask for another. She kindly brought a new TV instead of worrying about finding or ordering a remote. Beautiful place, clean, and wonderful access to the river. I would definitely stay again!!!!! -

Review 48 (2021-03-14 - Rating: 5)
Such a beautiful place! It was close to all of the attractions. The treehouse we stayed in had a huge balcony with seating area. The kitchen had all the things required to cook 3 meals and the shower was huge! I will be planning a trip again soon. -

LOVED IT!!!cute lil sky cabin w/ get views..very clean. ONLY 1 thing I recommend 2 fix is the balcony (solar)light stays on ALL night so it hards 2 fall asleep...NEEDS THICKER CURTAINS...It was off season actually 1 week b/f spring break in dat area so nothing was open 4 us 2 tube in the quadalupe river & the river was low .. -
Review 51 (2018-04-20 - Rating: 5)
Oh man, what a great experience. We had 3 families all take a treehouse and were side by side and it was so cool. My only regret was not doing 2 nights. The check in is 3:30 and out by 11 next day was the only rough part. I feel like I didnt get enough time to enjoy it. Lodging was very comfortable and they even had Netflix for the kids. Great time! -
Review 52 (2024-07-06 - Rating: 5)
Our family had the best vacation at the Sky Cabins! We love the river, and this was a perfect spot for our littles to play (not too deep)! -
Review 53 (2024-05-30 - Rating: 5)
Great spot to relax, cool off and take in the scenery! Cabins are right on the bank of the Guadalupe river. Was fantastic having a morning coffee, watching the birds fly along the water. The river park is great with lots of Adirondack chairs for lounging, and steps down the embankment for easy river entrance. A/C worked well, water tight construction held up thru an overnight Texas sized deluge and gale winds. Main bed was firm and comfy, 2nd bed was a very small futon too small for an adult. There was a hot plate for slow cooking, as the electricity in the plate kept cycling on and off. Beautiful kitchen sink! We bought some coffee & filters nearby for the coffee maker as there was some supplied but not a fan of Folgers in my cup. Shower was fantastic with a natural river stone bottom, and nice shower head. Nowhere to set down your toiletry bag. Kitchen table chairs were really wobbly and didnāt use. All in all a great find and will be back again! -
Review 54 (2024-06-12 - Rating: 5)
Very spacious and clean home! Lovely surroundings and very peaceful at nights for a nice getaway. River access area was great and just across the street from the house. The entire reservation process and checkin was easy and convenient. We will definitely be going back. -
Review 55 (2024-04-03 - Rating: 4)
The treehouse was neat, very spacious for 2 adults and 1 child. I do feel like it could use a deep cleaning and some repairs (theres a sagging board on the deck by the door which was a little sketchy), but overall we had a good time. The park by the water was nice as well, would be a nice place to hang out at with a group. The staff were very helpful, I was having issues with the booking and we finally got it sorted so I greatly appreciate that. -
Review 56 (2024-07-14 - Rating: 4)
Great place!! Would suggest details on checkout, where the dumpster is located. How do you leave the beds and towels in the rental agreement. Hopefully we did everything correctly. Overall we loved everything and had a great time. Thank you -
Review 57 (2024-06-05 - Rating: 5)
A great experience!! Will definitely come back with my family for another cookout surrounded by nature. -
Review 58 (2024-03-09 - Rating: 5)
We were very pleased with our cabin! The cabin was clean! Plenty of dishes and silverware for our family of four. The spiral staircase was a little difficult for adults but you just have to be careful. We had a very quiet and relaxing stay! When we couldnt get the remote to work on the TV, the team member worked with us and even came over after hours to get our TV working! We would definitely recommend these cabins! -
Review 59 (2024-11-11 - Rating: 5)
Check in and out was a breeze. The cabin was clean and had everything i needed. The property was quiet and well maintained. -
Review 60 (2024-07-15 - Rating: 5)
Loved the cabin! Very cozy and clean! Just a short walk from the river. Didnāt love the stairs to the upstairs loft since that was for my parents. Older people or someone thatās bigger would not be able to get up the stairs -
Review 61 (2024-07-30 - Rating: 5)
Ok so first, Iām disinclined to like places where you mostly hang out on the river. Blame it on my citified upbringing. But this place is amazing and totally won me over. There are so many thoughtful touches inside and out. From the gentle motion sensing lights that come on to help you navigate a dark driveway to the shady hammocks under each cabin, itās well worth your time and money. Just freakin come. -
Review 62 (2020-10-30 - Rating: 5)
Great little cabin for an excellent price ($125ish/night+tax). My husband, our nearly year and a half old toddler, my mom, and I stayed four nights in the Birdseye Perch cabin. The king bed in the bedroom was extremely comfortable. The staircase to the loft is narrow, so while it was fine for us, wide people may have difficulty. Tons of natural light and it was really clean. I specifically like the cabin we stayed un because its the last in the row of six and the private deck faces away from prying eyes. -
Review 63 (2024-06-24 - Rating: 5)
Great place! Rented cabin #5 very clean and spacious, perfect for a big family. The river was just across the street, very family oriented. Had a great time looking forward to our next stay. -
Review 64 (2024-06-24 - Rating: 5)
It was a great glamping trip even though it was raining during our stay. We still enjoyed our time in the cabin and having the river view was awesome! We will be booking again soon! -
Review 65 (2024-08-21 - Rating: 5)
Loved this little getaway! Perfect spot to relax and get out of the city. A lot of cool things to do. Trials, tubing, airline. Things you normally canāt do. I canāt wait to come again. Thanks for an amazing time. -
Review 66 (2024-07-01 - Rating: 5)
Awesome stay in cabin #5 on the river. We actually dropped down into the river about a mile down the road at Lazy LL and didnt pass one tube until 11 so a very peaceful float if that is what you are looking for. The craziness is north and further south. The cabin was clean, quiet and the perfect get away for our anniversary. Grilled steaks one night and went to Gruene the next (short drive). -
Review 67 (2017-08-06 - Rating: 4)
Yes...its really like a tree house! Its a 20+ minute drive from New Braunfels (If floating the Comal River). Great to connect with nature, see some stars, and most likely deer ANY time of the day! -
Review 68 (2022-03-11 - Rating: 4)
The house is wonderful and clean. Kinda disappointed that the creek under it was dry and empty. The reason for 4 star is the spiral stairway was too narrow and very dangerous for kids who run up and down without hitting one of the corner even though it was padded. -
Review 69 (2024-06-19 - Rating: 5)
It was a great place to stay except for the parking . You have five spaces for sky cabins parking, but only room for about 4 cars. You may want to look at that parking situation to avoid any issues with guests. Other than that we had a good time. -
Review 70 (2024-05-31 - Rating: 5)
The river access was perfect! As far as the Mockingbird lodge, for us the stairs inside were a bit challenging with little ones. Otherwise we really enjoyed our stay! -
Review 71 (2024-07-05 - Rating: 4)
Very rustic little place. Cute, but didnt realize the creek in front was dry and the walk across the street to the river was short but a little rickety. Kids thought it was really neat and worth the experience. -
Review 72 (2021-10-14 - Rating: 5)
Really cool location right along the river. The units are well equipped. Good air conditioning. Used to have a zip line, but it has been decommissioned. Pro tip-grab a burger at the Lonestar float house. You wonāt be disappointed. -

Amazing experience!!! The view, environment, safety, location, resources, and much more during our stay was incredible. The cabin is gorgeous and impeccable and has great accommodations. The place is pet friendly and my Labrador loved his stayed. I definitely will come back in summer if there is a chance. Everything was perfect for our first time spending Christmas in a Treehouse/Cabin. Loved it all!!! Thank you very much for the hospitality and attention during our stay. Beautiful place!!!! -

Great cabin, Great location ,perfect distance to the river and tubing and anywhere I needed to get to. Simply perfect and will absolutely be back in the future!!! Most definitely!šš -
Review 84 (2022-10-11 - Rating: 4)
The cabin is nice and spacious, it needs a few minor details to make it better and perhaps some cleaning on the upper walls. The access to the river is across the street and currently in construction to which we did not received noticed. Only 1 hammock and a bench was there, so not very impressive. Overall a nice place to hang out but not as good as it was advertised -

Well, I have mixed feelings on this place. The cabin is cute and comfy. The stairs are not the safest things around but we managed. The carts provided to haul stuff needed new tires and the trails could use some work. The private park is under construction. Theres not one place its noted. Its not as shady as advertised. But there is one table under a tree, a hammock and a water faucet. No bathrooms at the park as advertised either. But the water was at a good level and we had fun! In the end, thats all that matters! I just wish someone would have told us about the construction! -
Review 88 (2022-12-06 - Rating: 5)
The treehouse was really nice and bigger than we expected. There were no negatives besides what none of us can control- the weather. Other than that, it was a nice getaway location. We just have to remember to bring our own paper towels, and make sure we get in the shower as soon as we turn it on. The water pressure was just right, but the hot water didnt last long on the first night. Overall, we will be returning. -

We had the best time at the treehouse. The loft was perfect for the teenage boys. I would stay there again. -
Review 94 (2022-09-18 - Rating: 4)
The cabin was very nice & clean. The property was scenic and location was great. The swim area is having cabins built on it and was closed. We were not aware of that at the time we checked in but we called the property management and they gave us passes to a very nearby resort that had more amenities. We could have used a few more towles but overall a good experience. -

The Whippoorwill Haus was perfect for our sister trip! We loved the treehouses! Beautiful location. The shower wasnāt an issue but it does need attention. The water sprays on the floor or it has to be pointed towards the wall. We enjoyed walking across the road to the river access. Even with the construction, the workers were very nice and helpful with us trying to get to it. The location of the cabins were great and so easy and such a beautiful drive to Gruene. I have already and will continue to suggest friends to check out the tree houses! Iāll definitely be back! -

It was great, we spent 4 nights but when it was time to wind down, the 4 yr old and 17 yr old could not watch the smart TV that is connected to their wifi. The wifi was terrible so thank goodness for our mobile Hotspot. The parking is NOT made for two vehicles. Each tree cabin did have their own assigned parking spot. The lights down at the fire pit had no light bulb so be careful at night. Overall, it was nice and the kids loved it! -

I overall loved the peace of mind my family and I had visiting. The only issue I had was it wasnt very clean at all we went and got cleaning product to clean floors ourselves. There was alot of a image hair on bedsheets that I even broke out in with hives. I called but I didnt feel like they cared too much. -
Review 101 (2022-06-02 - Rating: 4)
My boys and I enjoyed the house for a two night stay. The view was beautiful and we loved having our space from the other homes. River access was easy to get to and the drive to the house was amazing. Complaints would be mostly about the bed sheets and pillows provided. Found questionable stains on the king bed and one of the queens up in the loft. If it wasnāt for Tate, the gentlemen handling concerns with the home the review wouldāve probably been a 3 star. Tate was an absolute joy to speak to and went out of his way to bring us clean sheets at 10pm and even helped us earlier in the day when we were having issues with the front door locking. -

We stayed at the mockingbird cabin, it was beautiful inside we all loved it. We only felt that the entrance is not prepare for rainy days, we struggled to keep the entrance clean because of the rain, and also the shower head is in a wrong position so if it is on and you open the shower door the bathroom floor gets all wet, overall is a cute cozy little house. -

Mourning Dove Haus is a unique and beautiful tree house vacation home. The amenities are clean and well-maintained, and there are plenty of things to do around the area. The tree house design is incredibly charming and provides a truly unique and memorable experience. I would highly recommend this vacation home to anyone looking for a getaway in nature. -

It was a perfect Vacation. We stayed at the Cardinal Casaita and my family had a blast. My kids loved the loft upstairs. It was a walk and a skip away from the lazy river. The store wasnt far at all. The Tree house was cozy and stayed cool at all time. The pots and pan were still great condition. All of our neighbors were nice and friendly. We will so be coming back! -

Review 107 (2020-01-12 - Rating: 5)
Great location, very unique design for resort cabins. They are well maintained, and super clean. We enjoyed having the extra space for just two of us, even though it sleeps 6-8 people. However, the hot water doesnt last very long in the shower, 5 minutes at most. The ladies that booked our stay, (Ashley, and Vanessa if I remember correctly) were very helpful and friendly. Fantastic customer service from beginning to end. We will return! -

I loved this amazing setup and enjoyed the deck, especially at night with the lights and trees all around. It was a nice relaxing trip for my husband and I! The river was close to us which felt peaceful because it was quiet and soothing. The treehouse was well kept and very clean. I would recommend this place to someone who wants to relax and have a nice getaway by the river!! -

Review 111 (2022-05-08 - Rating: 4)
It was a wonderful experience! Very secluded so make sure to bring EVERYTHING you need. Groceries, any extra blankets, bored games, rain gear, BBQ pit stuff, charcoal. .. we found having paper plates was helpful as well ad some extra grocery bags. We stayed 2 nights anymore I think the kids wouldve been a little bored without leaving the grounds. There is a river down the mountain I would not suggest bringing children younger than 5 or 6 if you plan on doing any hiking. I could see how someone with children may have a hard time getting up and down the mountain with young children. We did ok but there were a few times I was a little worried about someone slipping or getting too far away from me. The only suggestion I have would be that the place needed a deep cleaning. The refrigerator was a little dirty and the counter tops felt a bit grimey nothing a little bleach cant fix though!! Overall I would go again in a heart beat! It was great to be away from technology and to be able to bond with yhe kiddos! -

I stayed at river road treehouses with my husband as a mini get away. The place was beautiful! It was equipped with everything you needed including a full kitchen!! The house we stayed in was very clean. The river is located right across the street with bbq and fire pits and is private which was really great for us. You also have a private porch with bbq pits and outdoor furniture. It was very relaxing! If youāre looking for a great place to get away with youāre family or friends this is the place to go!! Lots of local eateries around also that are great! -

The tree house was super cute. The road is very busy, so you will hear trucks - motorcycles roaring up & down the road. All the beds are very firm so if youāre not a fan of stiff then this will not be for you.Upstairs loft has a very narrow spiral staircase. (Use with caution)Itās also in the walkway area so if youāre over 5ā4 watch your head.Upstairs has a tv with dvd player. Bring DVDs if you still have them.(Upstairs has 2 queen beds)Bathroom cabinet above toilet needs to be trashed & replaced. The 2 car per house parking is a joke. We had to squeeze our truck into the side of the driveway each time, as parking is very tight as well.Bring seasonings! There is an extra fold up bed in the master closet that was helpful.Master bedroom (king bed) has a smart tv & Wi-Fi that worked great for us.Location is great & the drive is beautiful. -

This place should be called Lil Slice of Heaven. Our home was beautiful and the staff amazing. We made wonderful new friends also while hanging out in the river across the street. Ashley answered every question so quickly and very thankful for that, and also being able to pay for early check in. I am thrilled to live close enough here to rent again for any reason, and my Canada buddy loved making her friends happy/ jealous at all the pictures. Thanks again!!!! -

Memorable for the whole family! Great accommodation and location. Tucked away far enough for peace, quiet and natureās beauty yet close enough for modern and urban conveniences. Very scenic, and close to many attractions, dining and shopping. We all saw an abundance of wildlife and nature. My daughters loved swimming in the river, and seeing birds, deer, and fireflies at night. Wife got to start her days doing yoga at Gypsy Waltz Yoga. Lots of dining and shopping nearby like Kafekali & Bakery, the Gristmill River Restaurant, Historic Gruene District and the San Marcos Outlet Malls etc. Too many things to do and not enough time, so we will definitely return and are already talking about our next trip back! -

We stayed the weekend at Birds eye Perch and had a great weekend with family and friends. Tucked away among the trees in the Texas Hill Country, the Treehouses offer a unique experience in an exciting area located on the Guadalupe River. The cabin was very clean and inviting, and had a homey feeling. We will definitely be back! -

I guess you can read some of the other reviews here and on other social medial and see that theres some issues. Yes, we had a few, but yknow...we had a GREAT TIME!This was a surprise anniversary trip for my wife and we found the cabins built in the trees a wonderful little retreat. Cozy and warm and a great place to work on puzzles; read books; play a little guitar and watch TV shows we never had time to watch during the year.My wife was really happy and wants to go back and maybe rent the larger unit. We had a few issues, but none of them were game-breakers. We travel extensively and you we know how to roll with things and make the very best of it.The biggest thing for us was the wi-fi. Fortunately, we always bring our own hotspot because of our travels. The wifi in the cabin is not very strong so, if you have to do more than e-mails, it might not be strong enough for you. But, otherwise, a great little stay and we even tried to extend two more nights. However, they were booked! They should just call these the River Road Cabins, they arent treehouses, but are built in the trees. Thanks for the great get-away. -

We really enjoyed our stay at the river road treehouse. The property was very well kept and the treehouse fairly clean. Aaron with reservations was very helpful and he went out of his way to accommodate us! They provide towels, bedding, kitchen utensils, pans and each house has a stove, refrigerator, bbq grill & utensils on deck, coffee maker, toaster. The kids had a great time playing in the creek, hammock, common areas, they also have access to the river where there is more bbq pits, fire pits and picnic tables. We brought our own food, spices, coffee, foil paper, dish soap, cooking oil, beach towels and igniter or lighter for the grill and fire-pits. This would be an experience you wont regret!! -

Great place... Was perfect except for the bathroom WINDOW.. As someone who worked with glass block..you should NEVER use nubio (wave) pattern, we always use decora (ice) for privacy.. They both let same amount of light in & you wont have to see naked ppl showering..Paying 50$ for cleaning fee when we clean ourselves seems bit to much.. Especially since the cleaning husband & wife youre using does a terrible job..Id deff go back if ever had chance.... -
