My family and I had the pleasure of renting 2 cabins from Caroline and Pim. They were the bests hosts we could have asked for. They met us for a late check in and showed us the cabins and let us know we could could call them at any time if we had any issues. We stayed in the Beach House cabin and the Horse Barn cabin. Both were adorably decorated and had everything we could possibly need. The property is beautiful and a great escape from the busy city. Highly recommend!!

Texas is a special state and Texans are special people. Texas in April 2019, flowers, blue bonnets, Indian paint brush, and so on. So many flower fields that you no longer know where to look! Tours through the Hill Country, with bikers and on horseback. Trips you will never forget. Beautiful hills, nice bikers, but also many thanks to Frosty, a mule who brought me safely up, but especially down. Bandera, where old times come back, where there is a great rodeo every Saturday. San Antonio, the Alamo, not just the riverwalk, but a museum that leaves you deeply impressed by the battles that took place there. Corpus Christi, swimming in the Gulf of Mexico! Learned to eat oysters and saw wild dolphins. Overwhelming!Big Bend, a nature reserve so large and special that it is difficult to explain. From there we travel to Mexico. What an amazing experience. In the vicinity of the Picaranch, tubbing, horse riding, kayaking, shopping, flowers and nature. In addition, a cabin where you can live, equipped with all amenities. Unforgettable. All this would not have been possible without the enormous love that Pim and Caroline have for their ranch and their guests. Together with their ranch manager Bobby, they ensure that their ranch and their animals look perfect.Heaven can wait they say, but why wait when you find it in Texas on the Picoranch?

Highly recommended with a big A! I have now been able to stay with Pim and Caroline at the ranch for the fourth time and it has been a pleasure every time. From the location, from the weather, from the people and of course from all the effort that Pim and Caroline put in to make it an unforgettable experience every time. This time we all went on an extensive road trip, a full program but we had so much fun and saw so much.Already looking forward to the next time :-).About the ranch: close to Hondo, to the Hill Country, to very nice places like Bandera and of course San Antonio. You go here for the beautiful nature (Texas is less flat and barren than you might think), for the beach (a few hours to Corpus Christi), for special experiences (concerts and steak night in Bandera) and for the fun and always nice people of course.Everyone come visit Pim and Caroline, they will love them and you are guaranteed an unforgettable experience.

I was able to stay at Picaranch for 4 weeks, what a special experience.Walking in beautiful parks.Visited San Antonio with the missions and not forgetting the River Walk in downtown San Antonio. The missions can be visited by bicycle along the river.Highlight the Tejas Rodeo, AMAZING!Experienced the Eclipse on August 4.The town of Hondo is also really worth a visit, so many delicious restaurants and the Dairy Queen restaurant is my favorite.Dont forget to visit 11 Street Cowboy Bar in Bandera where you can grill your own meat and dance.Thank you Caroline and Pim for this fantastic adventure.

We stayed here from April 1 to April 15.We slept in the Dutch cabin on the beautiful Picaranch with all the trimmings.Pim and Caroline showed us as much of Texas as possible, including the river walk in San Antonio, cowboy life in Bandera including the BBQ on 11th Street, the caves of Natural Bridge Caverns, tubing in the Frio River, Enchanted Rock State, Hondo, Rodeo, twin peaks, Palmetto state park, Sequin, USS Lexington flight deck in Corpus Christi Bay, dolphin tour, Padre island, even horseback riding. These people love Texas, and for good reason.Top holiday.Recommended,Peter and Angeliek Jelier

Stay at Pica Ranch in April 2024.A very nice discovery in Texas 7 minutes (5.5 miles) by car from Hondo, less than an hour from San Antonio airport as well as various national parks (Lost Maples Statepark, Garner Statepark, Bandera State Matural Area) and points of interest such as the town of Bandera (the capital of the Cowboys) and theSouth Texas Maze (huge corn maze).Caroline and Pim do everything to help their tenants discover Texas and have unforgettable experiences. They help you find plenty of activities to do at very acceptable distances in this huge country. Like tubing on the Madena rivers 30 minutes away - Guadeloupe and Frio are just over an hour away. You can go horse riding (also western) and mountain biking not far away. The beach near Corpus Christi is less than two hours away. The 4 comfortable cabins rented at Pica Ranch are all equipped with air conditioning, kitchenette, shower and toilet. They have different themes visible on the website. There is no TV but you can take advantage of the internet connection on the veranda of Caroline and Pims private house. We therefore benefit from calm time without being unreachable.Reservations are easily made via airbnb.nl or by sending an email directly to Pica Ranch

We had the honor of being the first official guests. We had a great weekend at the ranch! Our 4 sons really enjoyed the campfire, the horse riding lessons from Pim and Caroline, bottle-feeding the calf and the sweet cat Kit. Partly because of the warm welcome and enthusiasm of Pim and Caroline, it was a great weekend! We also did some things in the area (including going to a rodeo), but the children could also have enjoyed themselves for days at the ranch. Anyone who wants to visit Texas should spend at least a few nights in the cozy cabins of the Pica Ranch. Worth it!

We had a 2-week holiday at this beautiful ranch in Hondo. Pim and Caroline are pleasant and hospitable and provide the holiday feeling! On the ranch itself they have 4 beautiful cabins that are fully equipped. You are in the middle of nowhere where you can admire the butterflies and hummingbirds during the day and the stars and the campfire in the evening. San Antonio is close by where you can do the beautiful River walk. And we were able to ride horses and go to the Spurs for the real Texas feeling!Thank you very much for the great holiday!!

We visited the Pica Ranch in the summer of 2017 and made a trip across Texas. With the Picaranch as a base we have seen and done a lot. Had nice weather, met nice people and got away from all the hustle and bustle. There is a lot to do in the area, the website contains a lot about it and is definitely worth reading.Last year the houses were still under construction, but we already saw them.Even though you mainly live outside, you also have plenty of space inside. If its not enough, you can also have a great time indoors. In short, a great holiday, Texan style.Just do it!

Definitely recommended. Relax completely in Texas. The atmosphere is wonderful, in the middle of nature, stars, campfire, but also lots of fun activities to do in the area! So cool that the western people just live there and that you are really in the middle of it. I would love to come back someday!

Wonderful place to stay. Very friendly people and you can completely relax here. There is also a lot to experience! The city of San Antonio is recommended. And while youre there, visit a real Texas rodeo!
