Ever had one of those moments where you just need a break from Adulting? Well, that was me when I found Ralphs Lake Cottage, offered by Hancock Guest Cottages. This property is a perfect Studio setup on Lake Buchanan! If youre into the outdoors/nature and lake scene but also enjoy everything you need right at your fingertips this is the place for you! Its clean, its more spacious than the photos give it credit for, its affordable, and most of all, its peaceful! Here are some of the awesome things youll find at Ralphs Lake Cottage: King size bed, trundle bed with pull out, chaise lounge, decks and patio furniture, full size fridge and oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, blender, full set of kitchenware and cooking supplies. Coffee, tea, zip locks, paper towels, toilet paper, pillows, blankets, extra sheets, bath towels, beach towels, flashlights, musical instruments, DVDs, puzzles, games, cards, fans, kayaks, bikes, swings, firepit, BBQ pit, and more! Seriously, the owners thought of everything! All I brought with me was some wine, snacks, comfy clothes, and my sewing supplies. I had my own personal Sewing Retreat for the weekend and it was fantastic! =)As far as nearby attractions, I only ventured out once when I took the 25 minute drive to Llano, Texas. It was a super cute town with several boutiques, gift shops, restaurants, and 2 quilt stores (which were my main motivator for leaving the cottage). Theres also a Family Dollar. There are also nearby wineries and a Country Store with plenty of basics plus made to order pizza, salads, and sandwiches.Be sure to do some star gazing at night and get up for the sunrise - its AMAZING! -

Rachel was the best host! The place was decorated well and had everything I needed needed for my healthcare travel contract stay. Rachel was very friendly and attentive to my needs and I felt at home in this cute little ADU. Would definitely book with Hancock Cottages again! -

Had a lovely stay at Rachel and Ralphβs place! They are incredibly accommodating and their home is perfect for a little getaway. It is conveniently located in a quiet and safe neighborhood with great restaurants within walking distance. Just a 15 minute drive from downtown and all the action. I definitely recommend for a coupleβs stay or if you have kids! Rachel and Ralph are also experts on the Austin area and give great tips on where to eat, drink, and hike. Will definitely be back again! -

I loved staying here! The suite was cute and cozy, with every amenity I could want (kitchen utensils, blankets, all the TV channels, etc.). And there is a great little side yard to soak up the year-round sunshine in Austin:) Rachel was responsive, generous, and professional. I thought I would only stay here two weeks but it ended up being closer to two months--thats how much I liked it. Highly recommend. And great location too. Thanks, Rachel! -

I have enjoyed staying at Rachel Nations vacation rentals known as the Hancock Guest Cottages (the Guest Cottage, the Ranch House, and the Modern) for the past few months. Rachel is a Realtor/Broker who knows a lot about Austin and has helped me during my longer term lease. Family meals have been easy in her well-appointed kitchens, and I have enjoyed being close to numerous restaurants, stores, and parks. I highly recommend these properties because they have exceeded my expectations being well-stocked, scrupulously clean, and nicely designed. -

I have stayed at several of the Hancock Cottages guest properties over the years. The Hancock Ranch House is particularly wonderful. The house and yard are surrounded by trees and the yard is well maintained. The neighborhood is quiet and secluded. The house interior is lovely, with a wide open spacious living area featuring a fireplace, comfortable and attractive furnishings, wonderful artwork, and glass doors opening to a fabulous back yard and patio. Bedrooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable and high quality, and linens and bedding are high quality as well. The kitchen is well equipped with state of the art appliances as well as flatware, glassware, pots and pans, and utensils. Everything you might need during the stay from paper products to cleaning products to coffee is supplied by the host.If I had to say anything negative about the Ranch House, it would be, the washer and dryer are slow. The laundry appliances are state of the art β but water saving smart brain washers and dryers take their time washing and drying clothes. Im okay with that, if the washer takes ten extra minutes to wash the clothes to get it right? Thats not an issue for me sitting on a comfortable sofa in front of a fabulous fireplace.Do yourself a favor and grab this gem. The Hancock Ranch House is a truly beautiful interior in a peaceful and rejuvenating setting and I keep coming back to Hancock properties for a reason. -

I rented this home as a place for a group of 8 as a part of a trip to Austin for a wedding. The home was clean and had all the pots/pans/space we needed. A nice back deck gave up an additional place to hang out besides the kitchen and living room. There is a door between the hallway of bedrooms and the main living area, so anyone who stayed up late wasnt bothering those who went to bed early. Rachel was delightful and quick to respond to any concerns we had. Great place to stay, function for a large group of adults who want to hang out and cook their own breakfast or dinner while on a trip. Plenty of local suggestions and the washer/dryer was a godsend (one couple had a baby). Plenty of towels and sheets for our group as well. Great spot! -

The house truly feels like a real home, your real home, not like so many rentals that are just staged nicely for photos. It has everything you need to live for several months if you happen to be relocating like we were. The kitchen has all the normal appliances and actually has large pots and baking pans for cooking special meals as well as a microwave and toaster oven for quick meals. The shower is great, the beds comfortable and plenty of closet space. The location is close to all shopping and you can get into UT or the city center of Austin quickly, even during rush hour. Rachel is a terrific host. She leaves you in complete privacy, but if you need anything answers texts or emails in minutes. The AC went out on the hottest day of the summer and she had a repair person out and it repaired within 2 hours. She is super friendly and a real booster for Austin who knows everything you need to know about the city and is happy to share her knowledge with you. -

Our family was visiting from out of the country. What can I say? The Hancock Modern in Allandale was the perfect place and a breath of fresh air. Itβs exactly as advertised. We could not have felt more at home and relaxed, taking full advantage of the close proximity to the park and a lot of restaurants on Burnet Rd. Fun decor. Next time we will bring a license plate for the fence. Well definitely be going back and hope to stay at some of their other Hancock Cottages -

I just finished a 2 month long stay at The Cottage and couldnt have been any happier! It was a wonderful place to return home to after a long work day. It was quiet, even when I had to sleep during the day because I was working at night. The place is located on a residential street, but within walking distance to good restaurants and coffee shops. (Walking to the Omelettry for breakfast was a regular trip on the weekend)Everything is clean, and well put together. The one or two times I needed something, or when the laundry machine unexpectedly malfunctioned, the landlord responded immediately and fixed it.I would definitely stay there again next time Im in Austin! -

This is an incredible cozy, spacious, and comfortable place! Its wonderfully quiet, so you can actually hear the birds singing when you are outside.I cant imagine that one could find better hosts. They have obviously taken every care re: furnishings, kitchen needs, etc.Its clear they want their guests to enjoy this home and area as much as they do. On a scale of 1-10 stars for cleanliness (Im big on that) this rates as a 10, and trust me, Im fussy in this area.Since we live in the high DRY desert of far West Texas, I imagine that our next visit here will be when it is less humid -- fall, winter, early spring. 11 stars for everything about this place.Thank you so very much for having us and for letting us share your home. While I dont know when, Im sure that we will return. Jackie & Van -
