We were at the Whooping Crane two bedroom for a month. If we could give it a star more than five we would. We saw up to 30 deer in our backyard, up to 26 whooping cranes from our deck looking towards the pasture. Also, we were delighted to see many spoonbills, sand cranes, blue herons, whistlers and ibis. Sunrise beautiful as you look towards the bay and sunsets back yard with the deer! You couldnt ask for more wonderful people than Tim and Mellisa. We already booked next year!! The place became our home away from home!

I stayed at the Spoonbill Cabin and had the absolute best experience. My primary activity while visiting was bird watching, particularly seeing Whooping Cranes. Amazingly, I didnt have to step beyond the front porch to see Whoopers. The cabin had everything I needed to be comfortable. The hosts are wonderful folks available to help you out with local recommendations and to assure your stay is comfortable. Highly, highly, highly recommend!!!

We had an amazing stay at Goose Island Flats! The hosts are incredibly welcoming and attentive, making sure we had everything we needed for a perfect stay. The location is unbeatable—just a short distance to the boat ramp, which made accessing some of the best fishing spots super convenient. We also enjoyed excellent opportunities for wildlife photography right out the front door.The accommodations were top-notch—clean, comfortable, and well-appointed with everything we needed to feel right at home. It was the perfect spot to relax after a day out on the water. We cant wait to come back.

I loved staying here so much!! I dont think there was anything they didnt think of from extra linens for fishy things, spices/olive oil for cooking, kayaks to the fire pit - it was SO quiet and beautiful. Tim and Melissa have such a familial energy, youll feel right at home. The shore was about a 10 min walk from my door, found some speckled trout! If you dont feel like cooking ,there are plenty of tasty spots close by. Highly recommend coming here whether its for fishing or just a break!!

We had an amazing experience staying at Goose Island Flats! The cabin was spotless, beautifully decorated, and had all the amenities I needed for a comfortable stay. The location was perfect—close to all the attractions and the beach, but in a quiet, peaceful neighborhood. Melissa and Tim were incredibly welcoming and quick to respond to any questions. I highly recommend this place and would love to stay here again on our next trip!

Goose Island Flats was the perfect place to stay for our fishing event. The cabins had everything we needed and the location was great. Such a beautiful view of the salt flats and tons of wildlife to be seen. The owners are super friendly and checked in making sure we had what we needed. It felt like a home away from home! It really was a great stay!

Such a perfect little getaway spot!Our group enjoyed having our own little cabins, but we were all still together.The fire pit is the perfect way to end the day and enjoy the sunset.The hosts were fantastic!Goose Island Flats has everything you need to relax and unwind, enjoy birds and wildlife! Loved it and we will be back!

The Goose Island Flats were perfect for our family fishing weekend. The fresh clean houses overlook the bay, the owners are amazing host, and we enjoyed the peaceful evenings sitting on the front porch watching all of the wildlife. Incredible, relaxing and much needed getaway. Cannot wait to come back.

Goose Island Flats is an amazing place to stay. I definitely give it a 10 out of 10. First of all the view and location is beautiful! We saw cows, deer, and birds! The cabin has just about everything we needed including salt/pepper and other spices, a first aide kit, and both a drip and keurig coffee pot. There were even hangers in the closet. Tim and Melissa were extremely responsive bringing whatever we requested immediately. We will definitely be back for Whooping crane migration!

What a wonderful place! Our Women’s Fishing Federation had our first annual salt water experience in Rockport, Texas! Most of the ladies stayed at the cabins or in an RV on site! We have our own place down there, so we didn’t stay here! I will personally say the owners are amazing and the cabins are adorable! Tim and Melissa were very welcoming to everyone! Even though we did not stay there, Tim let my husband borrow a brand new kayak! How awesome is that? I would highly recommend booking a stay here for a weekend getaway and/or a big family function! Thank you Tim & Melissa for your wonderful hospitality!

STUNNING VIEWS!!Stayed here June 20-23, 2024, with the Women’s Fishing Federation. This place is so beautiful! The cabins are clean and gorgeous, and Tim and Melissa are amazing hosts! I highly recommend staying here. I will definitely be back! Thanks for a great weekend.

This was the perfect place for the Women’s Fishing Federation to hold our first saltwater conference. The cabins were lovely and we had plenty of room outside to spread out our gear. The deer herd visited daily and posed for some beautiful photos! So accommodating and welcoming to our group. I’ll stay again if I get back to the Rockport area.

I recently had the pleasure of staying in the Whooping Crane unit at Goose Island Flats Vacation Rentals while attending a gathering with Women’s Fishing Federation. This unit is lovely!! Upon arrival our unit was clean and cool. The unit served 3 of us very well because it is roomy and comfortable. We lacked for nothing! The owners stopped by on several occasions to make sure our expectations were met. My intent is to return ASAP!

We stayed at Goose Island Flats for the Babes on the Bay tournament. We really enjoyed our stay and definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great rental.The houses were clean and had plenty space for everyone. They provide pretty much all the basic necessities for cooking, bathing, doing laundry,washing dishes, etc. As well as a broom, vacuum for tidying up.There is a keurig and they provided coffee and tea. There was a bowl of snacks that was great for a quick bite.The washer and dryer was great for us since we stayed 4 nights.The fridge/freezer had plenty room for all of our food.Beds were pretty comfortable. Temperature was easy to control. Very peaceful and quiet. We enjoyed sitting on the front porch and watching all the deer that came onto the property.There was enough space to park our boat (24ft) and vehicles. There is a nice boat ramp very close by.Beautiful views of St. Charles Bay.We rented 2 of the other houses for extended family and were able to fit everyone in the 2 bedroom house for supper! The 2 bedroom house was VERY spacious!The hosts were fantastic and very helpful!All the women fishing the tournament, were gifted a little goody bag of skincare products, mosquito spray and a very generous gift card to tackle town!!The price for these houses was what really caught my attention. You would pay more for a hotel room and not get anything near as great as these houses provide.If you are looking for a great place that is very affordable, this is the place!

My wife, son and I stayed here this past weekend and had a blast! Tim and Melissa are wonderful hosts! The accommodations are clean, comfortable and spacious with all the amenities including coffee, waters and snacks when you arrive. The location is quiet and peaceful with a great view of the bay and easy access to fishing, birding, etc. Can’t wait to go back!

My kids and I recently stayed at the Spoonbill and loved every minute of it. The hosts were extremely kind and accommodating, the house was super clean and well organized, and the location was fantastic for visiting nearby nature trails, birding, and staying outside of the city lights. The property is spacious and allows for exploring for toads and other critters. Outdoor games were provided for the kids as well from the hosts. We cannot wait to go back!

Such cute little cottages! Nicely done and super clean! We were there for a womens fishing meet up and worked perfectly for our group event. The brand new tiki hut style gazebo was perfect for our group gatherings. The owners were so generous and accommodating, definitely a must stay for a quite, relaxing and private getaway or group events!

Stayed at the Whooping Crane house for a weekend and it was beautiful. The house itself is spacious, clean and well-organized. St. Charles bay is only a few hundred yards away and easy to get to for fishing or whatever else. Lots of wildlife around, which made for a nice and relaxing weekend.

This place is situated beautifully and well-appointed. We saw whopping cranes, deer, cows, and more from the front porch, on top of the beautiful view of St. Charles Bay. As a bonus, there was plenty of room for skiff parking and easy access to boat ramps and wade fishing opportunities. If you love the outdoors, this is a great place to stay. The owners are very responsive and care about your experience. Ill be returning soon!

I have stayed in a lot of places on the middle Texas coast. From hotels, motels, to Airbnbs. The problem is that being just my wife and I we struggle to find smaller places. Goose Island flats checks all the boxes for us. Dog friendly, boat parking, wife approved, check check check! To make it even better the cabins feel and smell brand new, Melissa and Tim go the extra mile with all the little details to make your stay is a great experience. We’ll be back very soon!
