This property is beautiful and so relaxing. The sun rise and the sunset is breathtaking from the fire pit or the dock. When its time to get back my day to day I am already planning my next trip. They have three beautiful cabins, each one very unique and beautiful. It is hard to decide which property to pick. Luke and Susan are the best host and have thought of everything. Cant wait to plan my next girls trip. ❤️❤️❤️

I love staying here as Luke and Susan have spared no expense in designing and furnishing this awesome lakeside home. Its so relaxing and the perfect retreat with every detail thought of. Impossible to describe how absolutely amazing this cabin actually is! It’s something that a person needs to experience for themselves. The pictures and videos that we saw when we booked, and throughout the year following them on Instagram are beautiful, but in person is something else. They spared nothing in making sure their guests are comfortable and feel as welcome as possible. The setting on the lake with the screened in porch over the water was a definite highlight for us. We sat in awe watching sunset from the best seats on the lake. Everything was spotless, and the convenient little things you may have forgotten were there waiting. I can’t imagine anybody staying here and not giving them five stars across-the-board.. as it far exceeds anything we expected! Five stars just isn’t enough. We will be back!

Luke was absolutely Amazing! First Cast Cabin was beautiful and right on the water! We caught some fish and enjoyed a quick trip to see the fall colors! Everything was pristine and absolutely gorgeous! We loved the historical home with the old floors, walls, etc! This place was stunning! Also loved the cute little souvenir set up inside! Made it super easy!Now lets get to the BEST part of the trip...Captain Danny Sullivan with Mudport Tours!OMG! He was Absolutely Amazing! He met with us the evening before to talk about what kind of tour we wanted and at what time. He took all three of us on a 90 minute tour and it felt like 30 minutes. We all wanted more! I know that my sister in law and her husband who were on this trip will definitely be back!This place is perfect to go and let the men and women, if you choose, fish off the dock and let the women relax in the screened in porch with a glass of wine! This and all of Luke’s cabin’s are a MUST STAY!Another Must, YOU HAVE TO TOUR WITH CAPTAIN DANNY AT MUDPORT! You will not regret it!Oh well be back AGAIN! Thank you Luke!

My wife and I had a FANTASTIC time at First Cast Cabin! I really cant overstate just how nice it was to stay here for a few days. The house had everything we needed and it looked so good! Everything was very clean and there were extra cleaning wipes and hand sanitizer available. The lake and trees were beautiful and every sunset looked amazing through the big back windows. The nights were perfectly quiet with tons and tons of stars. We really enjoyed the fire pit.Be sure to make good friends with Boo (the cat) when you go!

My husband and I stayed at Luke and Susans home at Caddo Lake and boy was it magical! The setting could not be more perfect. From the moment you walk in to the place you are drawn to the outside deck and view. There was nothing we could want during our visit. Luke and Susan, seriously have thought of everything. From firewood & snacks to a generous welcome gift, we felt like we were at home from the moment we arrived. Their communication was excellent and helped provide us with the best experience possible from food recommendations to the best places to kayak. We took a boat tour with Michael Landrum, at their suggestion, and highly recommend it for when you visit. My husband and I have traveled all over the world using Airbnb and First Cast Cabin is by far the very best. Dont hesitate at all to book...we will be back!

This was our second stay at First Cast and it was still just as nice as we remembered. The cabin is so cozy and comfortable. It’s really beautiful inside and out. The boat house is the perfect spot to relax and take in the beautiful views. We brought our boat this time and being able to dock it at the cabin was so convenient! Luke was very nice and easy to reach and even offered to let us tour the two new properties, but we weren’t able to make time to do so. We are going to make this an annual trip if possible. We hated to leave!

We loved First Cast Cabin and the surrounding property. The house had all the comforts of home. Luke left very explicit instructions for everything from the lock box, to the AC thermostat, to the fire pit. The house was very clean and had plenty of towels. The boathouse was great! This is our second stay on one of Lukes properties in Karnack. We will be back!

We absolutely adored the place and had a great time! Ive loved Caddo Lake since I was a kid and First Cast was perfect for enjoying the lake. We love historic properties and yall did such a good job updating yet retaining the historic charm.The old wood floors, the tile in the kitchen, and the old doorknobs and hardware were so cool!Cant wait to come back!

Luke was absolutely the best host! His property is a dream…literally like a small slice of heaven on one of the most beautiful lakes you’ve ever been to.First Cast (along with his other Cast properties) are beautifully furnished, immaculately clean, and make you feel like you just stayed in a place straight out of a magazine.Thoughtfully stocked in the kitchen, bathrooms, and outdoor/activity spaces. You literally do not need to leave for anything that you didn’t already bring!I cannot recommend this property enough, and I hope to be back soon!

Our guest this time around, were already looking into renting a cabin for next year from these guys. They are amazing host and think of absolutely everything! This is by far the best Airbnb I have stayed in. My husband and I loved it, and it was the perfect, peaceful spot for a babymoon. Although it was chilly, the fire pits and electric blankets made it cozy. My husband brought his own poles, but poles and tackle are provided, which is such a neat touch. There’s even a fish cleaning station. The house was spotless, cute, and homey. Amazing interior design! I felt like I was at home. The linens are high quality, pristine, and smell amazing (Tyler Candle Company amazing), and the bed is comfy. There’s so many little extras around the house. Coffee bar is stocked. Games. Even a mini gift shop! Luke was so attentive and helpful. He is everything you could ask for in a host and made the trip so smooth and easy. Every recommendation was spot on. Especially the boat tour with Patrick! I really could go on and on, but I’m running out of characters. You will, in no way, regret booking. I did not want to leave!! The perfect reset.

This cabin is absolutely amazing! Luke is very knowledgeable about the area and had many suggestions for things to do locally. He is also extremely accommodating and kind. The house is comfortable and makes you feel at home. The kitchen is fully stocked and has everything you’d need. We especially enjoyed sitting out back and watching the boats cruise by. I missed my dog while there, but quickly found purpose by feeding Boo Kitty. We will definitely be back.

This place is amazing! The hosts have gone above and beyond to ensure the accommodations are top notch. The screened in porch was the perfect place to enjoy our morning coffee and take in the incredible views. The fishing guides recommended by Luke were also excellent as we were successful both days and never had to go far from the dock (seems like the host knew everyone to call and even the best places to eat!). First Cast Cabin was the ideal getaway for a long weekend to recharge our batteries and we will definitely be back again!!

By far the best place we have ever stayed. This cabin is everything you can imagine and a heck of a lot more. From the first appearance of the manicured yard, throughout the whole house and all the way to the end of the fishing pier this place is unbelievable. You can see all the passion and effort put into this place because it’s truly in a whole different level of comfort . The views of Caddo Lake is stunning , all the amenities are just over the top. It’s a extremely quite neighborhood surrounded by beautiful cypress trees with moss hanging throughout makes for such a peaceful get away. We are fortunate to have found this true jewel. We most certainly will be repeat guest 👍

Our stay at Luke and Susan’s place was one of the most positive AirBnB experiences we’ve ever had. They were highly communicative during our stay. They have thoughtfully anticipated every need that a guest might have and they have generously accommodated for it by going above and beyond what is expected!We enjoyed all of the equipment that was provided for fishing and kayaking. We saw herons and egrets while kayaking and Luke gave us a great recommendation for a relaxing boat tour where we learned a lot about the history of the lake. We loved sitting out on the screened in-dock just relaxing, reading, or listening to the frogs at night. We also loved seeing the dragon flies, cardinals, and gorgeous yellow warblers in the yard and on the deck.Like the owners of this cabin, the neighbors next to this property and all of the local business owners are friendly and welcoming and want you to enjoy your stay. I would highly recommend this property! Luke and Susan have put a great deal of labor and love into this property and it shows!!

First Cast Cabin is a real gem! The location is perfect for exploring Caddo Lake and surrounding area. The view of the lake, the sounds and sights of the birds make the location truly special. Luke was an exceptional host. From the first contact immediately after booking, to the suggestions for the trip and stay, to the follow-up during our stay, Luke was always super quick to reply and answer questions and make suggestions. The cabin is so comfortable. Plenty of room to relax and spread out. It is like a combination of a 5-star hotel and a stay at your best friends lake home. Everything we needed was there for us already. Even the umbrella youd expect to find in the closet of a fine hotel was right there waiting for us. When I wanted to look more closely at a bird on the lake, the Bushnell binoculars were waiting for me in the basket on the table. Luke even had drinks and snacks for us to enjoy. The attention to detail was amazing. The cabin was sparkling clean, the bed super-comfortable, great shower/tub and a great kitchen for preparing meals. The screened porch overlooking the lake was our favorite place and we ate our meals out there and spent time relaxing, doing yoga (plenty of floor space), watching the hummingbirds, etc. The sunrise and sunset times were exceptionally beautiful with the moss-draped cypress trees. We enjoyed fishing off Lukes pier and caught several fish. Of course, the fishing rods were right there in the cabin for us. Of all the rentals weve enjoyed (including VRBO), First Cast Cabin takes first place.

First Cast Cabin was absolutely beautiful! The house, the view, the amenities, every little detail that Luke and Susan thought of. Our only regret was not being able to stay for much, much longer! There was nothing missed! The beds were incredibly comfortable and the linens were better than Ive had in 5 star luxury hotels. The back porch is an absolute dream and the perfect place to enjoy a cup of coffee and watch the sunrise, have a meal or just enjoy reading a book. The screens keep the bugs out and the fans keep it cool. The firepit makes for a great place to enjoy an evening cocktail or tasty smores. The wooden steps from the house to the dock that were made from the old dock give it such a lovely historical touch. Luke was so kind and helpful, the neighbors were warm and friendly, Boo kitty was super cute and cuddly and the ease of everything was such a nice change of pace. We HIGHLY recommend Luke as a Super Host and First Cast Cabin for anyone that wants to escape to the relaxing calm of a lake house without giving up the luxuries and comfort of home. We will be back!

First Cast Cabin was everything we needed and more! I am a travel vlogger and travel evvvverywhere but this time... just truly needed a place to provide peace, seclusion, tranquility & beautiful surroundings. Lukes place was exactly that. The house is perfect and provides more than youll expect, but the real treat is the boathouse! • What an unexpected surprise!Caddo Lake offers such unique surroundings and the boathouse allows you to feel submersed in it. We got to enjoy a 2 hr day-nap on the outdoor sofa and a fire on the gas pit later that night w/ another fire later on the outdoor fire-pit. Luke provides kayaks as well, so fun! And absolutely everything you need to fish. We spent a lot of time doing that. l even set up a beautiful romantic picnic on the pier that was overlooking the water & mossy trees... something to be remembered forever. Luke thought of everything: a Welcome Gift, beautiful Christmas tree, snacks, etc. 10/10*Last Tip - a mudboat tour..is an absolute MUST!

First Cast Cabin was an absolutely lovely place to stay! The entire space was comfortable, very clean, stylish, and well-equipped with lots of games, fishing gear, kayaks, and other amenities. My niece and I spent a couple of days at the home and it was perfect for us. We loved having direct access to the lake, and the setting was extremely quiet and scenic. The photos do not capture the incredible beauty and mystery of Lake Caddo. We spent a lot of time on the back porch simply reading or talking. The kitchen was equipped with anything we needed to prepare our own meals. We also appreciated that the cabin had a washer and dryer. We were grateful for the wi-fi, as our phones were not always in service on the drive to the cabin. Beds and couches were very comfy, and it was a treat just to take it easy by lounging and relaxing. We also felt very safe. Luke was an outstanding host...from the time of making the reservation to our departure, he was proactive and helpful when it came to communication. He also provided plenty of excellent tips for how to make the most of our visit to the cabin, Caddo Lake, and the surrounding region. Its very obvious that he is passionate about this location, and he was enthusiastic about sharing the insider info with us. He was quick to respond to any questions we had and checked in on us a couple of times to make sure everything was okay...very much appreciated! This was overall one of my best experiences with AirBNB. I would love to return to First Cast Cabin such a treasure!

Had a wonderful & relaxing weekend getaway at First Cast Cabin. Very clean & comfortable. They had everything we needed. In the kitchen for cooking, drinks, snacks, laundry room, fishing, binoculars, indoor & outdoor games. Even things for the outdoor fire pit (wood & smores!). Enjoyed sitting on the screen porch with gorgeous views of the lake. Loved the pier on the water to sit watch the birds & fish. Wonderful host to work with. Easy to communicate, answer questions & quick to respond. We never left the cabin. Thank you for a fabulous weekend.

Firstcast Cabin is AMAZING! You should book this cabin immediately! From the moment we walked in the door, it felt like it was a home. The house was fully stocked with everything that you would need and SOOOO much more. (They have plenty of Ice) The furnishings were fantastic and extremely well placed and I was very impressed by the lighting both indoors and outdoors. The neighborhood is quiet and the views are absolutely stunning during sunrise and sunset….and all day for that matter. We used the fire pit every single night that we were there. It was awesome to have the kayaks as well as all of the fishing from the dock. Not far from the cabin is a small town with a general store and a Family Dollar if you need more of a selection. The State Park is just a couple miles down the road and it has some fun hiking trails and beautiful views as well. We will definitely be back to spend another vacation at this absolutely perfect home and also to hang out with Boo kitty and the rest of the gang.

First Cast Cabin is FIRST CLASS!!This place is gorgeous - the pictures are great, but just dont do it justice.The host are friendly and accommodating- they have manged to think of every detal to make your experience special. They send you a detailed PDF link prior to arrival to answer any questions and provide Cabin Information.They optimized every inch of the property to provide something unique for everyone.Plenty to do with the well stocked indoor games, outdoor games and fishing equipment.There are so many great placces to sit and take it all in, but my favorite has to be the boathouse swing.We enjoyed meeting everyone and all the locals-Be sure to look up Capt. Danny Sullivan at Mudport for a sunset cruise and some Caddo lake history- you wont regret it!If you forget something go see Cindy at the Outpost- just ask Im sure she has it.This is just the first of many trips to First Cast Cabin - we cant wait to get back!Thank you Luke and Susan for having us and sharing such a special place.

May 2021 - This was our second time staying at Lukes First Cast Cabin. Everything was amazing as usual, from Lukes prompt and courteous communication to the extra unexpected amenities. Luke also has great local recommendations to ensure you enjoy your time at Caddo Lake. The continuous additions and improvements to the property make us want to keep coming back to check out whats new. We cant wait to go back to enjoy the new boat house with screened in deck. Communication was always prompt and courteous. He even checked in with us during our stay to make sure everything was going well and to see if we needed anything. I would highly recommend staying with Luke at First Cast Cabin if you are planning a trip to Caddo Lake. First Cast Cabin is beautiful and very clean. The location on the lake is excellent with a gorgeous view. The owners are extremely nice and helpful. First Cast Cabin has been a dream. Luke and Susan have been absolutely AMAZING. This was way better then any place we have ever been too. The cabin is perfect in everyway. The bedding, the decor everything has been perfect. We had to even check to see if we could stay one more night because we loved it here that much. The cabin is the best one around and I couldnt be happier. I highly reccomend this cabin and the hosts . Thank you for being amazing to us and having everything we needed for our stay. We definitely will be back to this cabin hopefully sooner then later!!! Thank you Luke for making this vacay so easy and relaxed!!!!!! The fishing dock has been great, The area itself has been great and we really couldnt be happier!!!

This is the best Air BnB Ive ever been to. Hands down. The owners are extremely nice and professional, some of the nicest people Ive met. The cabin is incredibly clean, and in a prime fishing spot. The interior is fantastic, location is great, and experience was a breeze. This was nothing short of perfect.My friends and I make a trip back home every year, and this is the first time weve spent at this cabin. Were going to make a return trip to First Cast every year from now on. Excellent the whole way through. 10/10

FirstCast Cabin far exceeded our expectations; were already missing their huge waterfront screened-in porch. Lukes place was pristine and clearly they had put thought into every detail and amenity offered. His wife could give Joanna Gaines a run for her money with the interiors. It truly felt like a vacation home and not just your average cabin.Weve been coming to Caddo Lake for the past 10 years and this was by far the best place weve stayed in every way possible. Do not hesitate to book this property! (I say this with trepidation because with the well-deserved rave reviews, we may never be able to catch this place available again.) After everything 2020 has dealt, staying at First Cast Cabin was a welcome respite. This place is all about details. Once my husband and I parked the car, we never once left until checkout. We brought groceries, and every single tool we needed for cooking our meals was there. There was a pretty impressive selection of snacks, drinks, and seasonings too. I had bought a bag of ice expecting little, if any, to be at the house. Much to my surprise, there was a ton! There were a variety of indoor and outdoor games, DirectTV (as well as the option to log into Netflix, Amazon, etc.), and good wi-fi. Now, if you’re wondering... but what about the lake? I saved the best for last! All of the stuff in the house was incredible, but we spent the majority of our time outside, enjoying the natural beauty of Caddo, the crisp, fresh air, the lovely fire pit, the amazing screened in porch, and fishing (with the poles that are there, ready and waiting, when you arrive) off the dock in the yard. All in all, a wonderful trip. We felt safe, the house was immaculately clean, and it was sooooo restful. We miss it already!

My wife and I looked at several cabins in the area, Caddo Lake State Park Cabins, Hodgepodge Cottages and Caddo Lake Cabins. We decided on Firstcastcabin because of the location and online Airbnb reviews. The cabin is decorated beautifully, very clean, with a fully stocked kitchen located in a quite area with everything you could possibly need. The host Luke shared all the local tips and fast to respond to any questions. If your looking to book a waterfront cabin we highly recommend staying at Firstcastcabin!

Everything was fantastic! The cabin is so cozy and did I say CLEAN! It’s smells so good too. You get exactly what you paid for and that’s literally everything. The whole property to yourself. This is the sweetest little get away spot I have found. Not only are the owners the sweetest couple. This cabin is perfect for a weekend getaway with some of the best bass fishing and a fire pit to cook smores at night. The mornings are perfect sitting on the porch while the sun comes up drinking coffee. This was one of the best weekends you could ask for.

What can I say! Needed a breather from city life and wow...this is it! Although my husband loves fishing, all I need is a nice quiet porch and a hot cup of coffee... sit back and enjoy the birds chirping and squirrels climbing trees. Wish we had stayed longer really. I think we will return this fall for a whole week. It was everything that was promised and could not have been any more perfect. For anyone needing a breather from the hustle and bustle of life....this is the best therapy money can buy!
