We really loved staying here, in the blue cabin. It was clean, cute, had everything we needed, and the host was easy to communicate with. Every aspect of the stay was just great. The common area was very enjoyable to hang out and grill in. We kayaked up river from there, which was a fun adventure. We enjoyed swimming in the river there too. It was also nice to be so close to Colorado Bend State park. Keep an eye out for painted buntings there in the common area.

This last weekend I rented two cabins from Colorado Bend cabins. They were both most excellent, a pleasant place to spend a weekend. The cabins were clean, neat and well maintained. The back area was wonderful with places to sit, barbecue, light a fire and sit out and enjoy the day or evening, and a view of the Colorado river. With caution, we were able to dip ourselves in the river! There is a binder with information on the cabin as well as information of the surrounding area and places to go.Very nice getaway. We definitely want to go there again!❤️

Very responsive, well maintained, n clean. Wifi on site cable TV. Has a sink outdoors for fish cleaning a small patio with chairs n a large picnic area. Great atmosphere n cozy, Love it. We were going camping got dark on us before getting there. Lucky cabins were on our way n on Google Map called n booked. Great place to stay 👌 will definitely come again. The only bad thing is the river was dried, so make sure u verify the river has flow.

This is the perfect place to stay if you don’t want to do primitive camping in Colorado Bend State Park, but you are interested in hiking/biking the trails. It is very close to the park. The cabin is new and everything was clean. John was very friendly and easy to communicate with by text. My son and I bought snacks and breakfast foods from HEB since the place has a mini refrigerator and a microwave. We did not want to drive back to Lampasas (approximately 25 miles) to eat out. San Saba is about 15 miles away and has fast food chains available. The cabin is located right on the river so it is easy to walk down and hike along the river’s edge.

We had a great time staying at the cabins. The cabins were clean, comfortable, and had great amenities. The scenery is beautiful, and we loved that it was located right on the river. We hope to come back soon!

I don’t want this place getting too popular but what a great place to stay. The cabins are modernly designed and the river access is beautiful, complete with fire pit, grill, fish cleaning table station and access to the Bend General Store just down the road with great food and live music. The owner, John, made sure we were taken care of and made our stay even better.

Love these cabins!! We stayed in the green cabin...it was cozy and had everything we needed for our stay. The common area was fantastic to grill and hang out. Even the pups enjoyed it!!

We had a great weekend at the cabins. In our younger years we camped at the state park. We enjoyed hiking to Gorman Falls and swimming in the ponds at Sulphur Springs.Now in our sixties camping in tents is harder for us. We love Colorado Bend State Park. (we were told when we went to just drive around in the park that you now have to make reservations to enter the park) I was so happy when I stumbled across the cabins. They are only two years old. They are decorated fun and modern. The tub was nice it was shaped with a reclining back making it comfortable for a good soak. People talk about the kitchen size a lot and just having a microwave. We took up an electric omelet maker and made omelets both mornings. My husband brought our camping stove and he cooked outside on the patio table.We where the only ones up there for the weekend. The common area was great with plenty of seats and very relaxing atmosphere. If there was a hammock there I probably would have fallen asleep for a little nap. The host was great! You meet one or two great host renting their properties and he definitely falls into that category. The river was down but we did not come to fish or swim so we where fine with that.Life had been very stressful the last couple of months and it was just what we needed to rejuvenate again. I felt so lucky to find them on such short notice and to have them turn out to be a great find. We stayed in the first cabin. If you want a view of the common area and the river another cabin would be a better choice. We had plants blocking the view. The bed was very comfortable. With such a great host and the comfortable cabins we will be returning for another stay in the future.

Thanks to John for a very peaceful, tranquil stay by a small stretch of the Colorado river. The cottage/cabin was cosy, comfortable and very very clean and neat. John was very responsive to our requests, and honestly everything we needed was already there at the stay, so we didnt need to make any extra requests except for check-in/check-out times. At this time of the year, the river has less flow, but it is still very beautiful and peaceful. It is also the perfect location for star-gazing. There is a Bend Cafe and store just 2 minutes down from the stay, and they have beautiful live music on the weekends, with a very friendly vibe. The Colorado Bend State Park is just an 8-minute drive away. Much recommended stay and will return again :)

Our family of three had an awesome week at the Colorado Bend cabins. The cabin was located in a quiet area along the river, up the street from the Colorado Bend state park, and was in walking distance to the Bend General Store. The cabin was very clean, had a great working ac unit, had very comfortable beds, and had a full size shower. Each cabin had its own outside patio table and chairs with a common area for grilling, relaxing, or playing corn hole. We didnt do any fishing but there was an area for fish cleaning as well. The contact person for the cabins was very friendly and helpful. We loved our visit and would go again. 🤩

My children and I had the best experience staying at Colorado Bend Cabins. John was very responsive with any questions I had and even made great suggestions as to the local attractions near by. The location is perfect and isolated with the river right by the cabins and great for hiking. We will definitely be regulars! Absolutely loved everything about our stay. Such great hospitality everywhere we went. Great food at the local restaurant right down the street. San Saba was about a 15 min drive out for some shopping. The scenery is just beautiful out there. The cabin was clean, modern and perfect for the 3 of us. BBQ pits and tons of seating outdoors. Well be back to visit soon! Thanks John!Claudia CantuMidland, TX

Everything about the cabins is great. They are clean and have plenty of amenities including coffee makers and microwaves. Huge plus for me that they have a keurig and provide some coffee pods. It was very hot when we were there and the AC in the cabin works well. Wifi and TV work well too.The location is good. It is only 4 miles to the state park and only about 20 min from town if you forgot something or want to go eat.The reason for 4 stars is the river and lack of water. I don’t hold it against Colorado bend cabins. Just making sure it is noted for anyone who is looking and thinking they will have a river for play or fishing. This is Texas and “rivers” can be very shallow or raging. Make sure to check current levels before booking and being disappointed when you arrive.All that being said, we plan to return. It is a beautiful area and the cabins are worth the cost. We want to return with our kids and explore the area and hike the park more.

We had a great stay at Colorado Bend Cabins! The place was very clean and cozy. It was more of a tiny home. The full size shower was amazing after a day of hiking to see the gorgeous Gorman Falls. The scenery from the cabin is lovely! The only thing I would request is some type of hot plate for cooking. There isnt really an affordable food source for miles. The general store up the road had great food and cute accessories, but was very pricey imo. We had a lovely stay at Colorado Bend Cabins, and we will definitely be back in the future!

Very cute, well kept, upscale cabins. Owner personally helped me book my stay and ensured that I had all that I needed. Cute store down the street with live music and a fun unique vibe. We went to Sulphur Springs and swam in the spring water and had a great experience. This is a little gem not too far from Austin. I will definitely book again soon!

This was an amazing getaway for me and my boyfriend! The cabin was larger than expected, very clean and comfortable. The amenities provided exceeded expectations. They had bug spray which came in handy when we forgot ours and the location is so close to the park and bend store. Although it was close to the road it was the quiet escape we needed. Can’t wait to book again soon now that the weather is cooling down.

We have a great trip to visit Colorado Bend State Park for 5 days since we stayed Colorado Bend Cabins fir 4 nights:1. Cabins are close to the park;2. The location and environment of the cabins are uniquely natural, quiet and beautiful. We hiked on the island and river banks and enjoyed watching birds and other animals, we stayed out in the yard to just enjoy the beautiful mornings and evenings;3. The cabins are comfortable to stay with very strong A/C during hot and cold time during the days and nights in unpredictable Hill Contry;4. John is very helpful to us. When out car battery dead, John even asked his relative to the cabin to jump our car and gave information about the shop os closest town for replacement and installation of new battery;5. John is very responsive to our questions and needs.

This was a long overdue summer vacation for myself and my kids. It was so beautiful, comfortable, relaxing and John the owner was awesome. No matter what question I had he got back with me in a friendly and quick manner. I cook a lot so I did use the electric skillet and also the one I brought from home. This stay was everything I was looking for to spend time with my teenage kids and make memories with them. Thanks again for everything John.

Found these cabins on a impromptu trip to Colorado Bend State Park. We wanted to stay longer and enjoy the views. These cabins will not disappoint. Very modern and have all the amenities you will need including a Keurig with coffee supplies!!! Wifi , A/C, TV, microwave and mini fridge. Was stocked with plates, cups, dinner trays & silverware. The restroom is spacious and shower is excellent (for once not a cramped, tiny squeeze-in space) had towels and some toiletries. The area around is well taken care of and you can see the lake from your porch. Well be adding this to our list of places to stay again. Totally unexpected and wonderful!! To the owners .. wow you did an amazing job!!

The cabins were clean, comfortable, and close to the Colorado Bend State Park. The entire process of booking, paying, and staying here was made smooth by the friendly owner. The cabin had almost everything you can find at your home condensed into the small area. The surrounding area is very scenic, but be aware that the nearest gas station is around 20 minutes away from the cabin.

We absolutely loved our stay at the Bend cabins !! Me and hubby enjoyed the views and the peace and quiet. Especially nice to get away when there was hardly anyone there. It felt special. The view is spectacular to see during the day or watch the stars at night. The water was nice to swim in. Loved how close it was the the Bend store and only a little drive to the other places to visit that we want to check out next time. We went to the state park to visit. Love love the little cabins. So clean and cute and modern. Bed was super cozy. Ac kept it cold. Smart tv. So we could watch Netflix at night. It wouldn’t let me log into YouTube or any of the other free apps Bc it wouldn’t allow the download so maybe if those free apps were already on there it would be great :) but besides that. The shower is huge loved the little picnic area. Even provided mosquito spray :). The owners were so helpful messaging us to find it and give us places to go. Love that you don’t have to worry about carrying a key card and it’s just a code they assign you. They were so helpful. The lighting is nice at night and they provide coffee and basics like plates. They have a small fridge and microwave and coffee maker. Lots of windows and lighting in the cabins. Love the space outside and wildlife. Outdoor shower and picnic tables, bbq pitt, fish cleaning station. Lots of great stuff. I do wish they had a little pool or hot tub. But besides that it was so wonderful !! It was like the hottest day of the year when we went so it wiped us out easy but we would absolutely love and hope to come back when the weather is cooler and crisp. I would absolutely recommend this place. It’s really cute and peaceful. Thank you for a wonderful time. I’ll have to find pics later.

We had a bachelor party out here and it could not have been more perfect! The cabins were very clean, the owners were very easy to get along with and the views were amazing! There is a bar right next door with live music as well.
