    I stayed at Catfish Cabins from Oct. 18-20, 2024. The owner, Doug, went out of his way to assist me; I was immobile due to a recent foot surgery. The cabins are great! The lake was great! Thefishing is really good, too. The views are great! The grounds at this little resort are immaculate. I will definitely be staying here again soon. I highly recommend this place.

    Catfish Cabins was a nice weekend getaway for me and my other half. Really close to Lake Livingston and other places to visit, shop or eat at while your enjoying your stay. Theres 3 cabins there so call in advance to book and make sure to keep your booking as Doug the owner really takes care of the place and visitors. The cabins are separated by woods so really you dont see the neighbors. Outside the cabin you have a bench to sit and eat, BBQ cooker, fire pit and patio with ceiling fan to relax. Inside you have ac unit, TV, bed, table, microwave, refrigerator, coffee pot, cups and linens for the bed and shower. Nice size cabin. There is a nice size lake which is private so no fishing license is needed and I caught a few fish. There is cable TV and no wifi but I did have 1 bar of service on my phone. Nice amount of birds to see and places to walk around the place and a great wooded area all around. Doug also have firewood there for your fire pit, prices for the logs are cheap just ask Doug when you arrive. Enjoyed my time and it was quite plus relaxing.

    This place was a perfect getaway. It’s quiet and beautiful. We got to watch the fireflies at night. I highly recommend staying here! The host Doug was so nice and ready to help with anything you needed to make your stay better!

    This is such a wonderful little place to retreat to and just cut off from the everyday hustle and bustle of life! Its just far away from everything, but close enough should you want to go to a store or out and about. Its quiet, relaxing and the scenery is beautiful! Fishing from the pond was a great experience! First time fishing and caught a few fish! Our host Doug was very accommodating and friendly. He made sure we had all we needed and helped make our stay that more pleasurable. We will definitely be back..soon!!!!

    Rented the cabin over the Easter weekend. The cabin itself was very clean and well maintained. The place was secluded, peaceful and really beautiful. The pond is filled with catfish and the owner gives food. Feeding them is fun. The owner, Doug built a nice fire by the pond in the evenings. He is very accommodating and friendly. Will definitely be returning as it is only a 90 min drive from Houston.

    This is a great place to retreat from the city. Stephanie and I enjoyed the proximity to the lake, the privacy of the cabin and location, and the attention the enjoyment of our stay. Its basic, yet very accommodating. We enjoyed our own fire and our own BBQ grill and as much seclusion as we desired. Doug was very helpful with finding us a good place to put in our kayaks and some good starter destinations to paddle to. He also helped us find our way about the area. I look forward to going back!

    By far one of the best places I have ever stayed. Doug is the best host I have come across. Cabins are very clean and well kept. Caught seven different type of fish from the pond. If you forgot something and need anything Doug will help provide it on the spot. Very relaxing and reasonably priced.

    AWESOME place to stay and Doug the owner makes you feel at home.I recommend this place over and other place!!Was only there for 1 night....We stayed 3 and didnt want to leave.The fishing is good and the beauty of nature is all you need.     This was our first time going to Catfish Cabins but it will not be our last. The place was clean, grounds were well maintained, quiet, and relaxing.     Absolutely loved staying at Catfish Cabins!! The atmosphere is peaceful and stress free. This is because of Doug (Owner)! He is the greatest person you will ever meet! He was there for any need we had. He even brought out a small container of dog food so the kids could feed the catfish! The kids and I enjoyed our stay so much that we extended for an extra day!     We rented the place over a June weekend to spend some quiet time away from the city. This place is private, secluded and beautiful directly facing a pond filled with catfish. We saw beautiful cranes and other birds landing or flying over the pond. The owner Doug is real friendly and accommodating. Highly recommended for a weekend quiet get away!

    Took my mom here for her sunflower birthday party and she loved it. Very beautiful and calming, The cabins were clean. Doug was very nice and attentive and asked us if we needed anything.

    Great quiet place to get away. Dont forget you rod and real and minnows. Plenty of bass and crappie. Not to mention the gar and friendly gator. Doug takes great care of you always making sure you have what you need. No TV but who needs it there. Cant wait for another weekend get away. Thanks for a great weekend.

    Such a relaxing place, Mr.Doug was very attentive and so nice letting us know that if we need anything to let him know, you can also buy firewood from him. The TV does not get signal but at a place like this who needs it! Thats the whole reason why I decided to get away from Houston for peace and quiet. The cabins are spaced with a few trees between each one which is great for privacy. The cabins have towels, coffee pot ,2 mugs, inside and outside chairs, AC, heater, small fridge and microwave. All you need is your own personal hygiene essentials or your own things. We will definitely be back and cant wait!

    My husband and I went to Catfish Cabins for his birthday. We return here at least twice a year to see our new friend, Doug, and to soak up the beauty of the place. Our weekends leave us rejuvenated and relaxed, the cobwebs leave our heads and we enjoy the quiet/private time. It is a great place to go and we would recommend Catfish Cabins to anyone.Thanks, Doug.     My fiance and I spent the past few days at Catfish Cabins and it was exactly what we needed. Extremely relaxing, beautiful scenery and great comfortable cabins. Doug, the owner, is one of the nicest guys Ive met. If there is anything you need, he will be right there for you.It was so beautiful and we loved it SO much, that we are actually having our wedding here!You are only 5 minutes away from the Trinity River also where you can go kayaking, boating, any water activity really.Cunninghams Boat and Tackle is a great place that is just down the road. $35 to rent a kayak for 4 hours! $5 each hour after that. You get in the water right there as well.So if you are looking for a relaxing spot, with maybe a few activities nearby...this place is perfect!

    Awesome getaway. Doug is awesome hell hook you up with some good ole southern hospitality. Theres only 2 cabins and a 3rd on the way so no worries on it being packed. Plus theres fishing on a stocked pond, how does it get any better? It doesnt it just doesnt.

    We just stayed at Catfish Cabins and had a great time. The place is named appropriately. And catfish is not all we caught. We caught bass and crappie too. Doug, the owner, is a perfect host. He is there if you need him but respects your privacy at the same time. Cool guy, great place!

    This is the place to go for a quiet getaway ! Stayed here after wedding ! Couldn’t have asked for better service ! Cabins are CLEAN ! Beds are amazingly comfortable ! Doug is super friendly! The grounds are so pretty ! Oh .. & the 4ft Gator that’ll welcome you at the water !

    I absolutely love it here. We came here last year for my birthday and we had a blast. Very quiet and peaceful. We did a lil bbqing, lil fishing and alot of relaxing. The owner is great hes a good guy. He makes you feel welcome and if you need anything he is there for you.

    You couldnt ask for a more relaxing, not a care in the world time to have than at Catfish Cabins. My wife and I (coming from Austin, TX) went to Catfish Cabins for a weekend to get away from it all on a mini honeymoon and we were not disappointed. We were there Friday and Saturday nights and planned on eating out Saturday night... But after relaxation and a few accommodations, we didnt want (or need) to leave. The property owner, Doug, does everything within his power to help you have a good time. These cabins are located on a beautiful property / catfish pond with an owner that takes pride in his land and is more than happy to accommodate any reasonable request. We cant wait to come back!

    Beautiful and very relaxing. Nice clean cabins. Great fishing and bird watching and some wildlife saw a deer. The owner was very nice great to talk to and respectful very honest. Will definitely be visiting there again.

    Our family LOVES camping. Ive camped in the heart of West Virginia mountains to backpacking deep into the PA woods to camp out under the stars. Moving to Texas weve been looking for the solitude of the woods that you cant find at a KOA. THIS PLACE WAS PERFECT! Secluded, beautiful, clean, and isolated. We have 2 little girls and the cabin was not only big enough for a paknplay, there was a beautiful comfy bed with country quilting waiting to greet us! The owner is so nice, like youve known him for years kind of personality, and when we got there by nightfall he had the fire ready for us to enjoy. The lake adds an open space to enjoy the beauty of the night sky and in the morning the catfish love to bite! Very relaxing and a perfect family getaway!!! Absolutely going again and making arrangements when family comes to book both cabins for a weekend!!!!
