We loved our getaway at the Hideout cabin. The host and owner were fantastic to work with us. We had a last minute need for a place to stay to be safe during hurricane Beryl. They graciously found us a place to stay. The next morning we were visited by two beautiful horses that live near the cabin. Such an enjoyable experience!

Ive now been here 2 weekends in a row! Its a great location for someone/a couple that wants to retreat to the quiet of the country. The owners house is on site but Ive never seen anyone. There is a 2nd larger rental but its been very quiet and it felt private. A short drive into Bandera and theres a great park for hiking near by, Hill County Nauture Park, great trails of varying degrees of difficulty. I love the 3 long horns on site. The chickens or other animals are no longer there. Cottage is very cute, deep club foot tub to relax, Cell service is spotty. Theres a small refrigerator, regular coffee maker with filters. Theres a continental break that includes muffins, yogurt, cereal, juice, milk and bananas. TJs in town has Greta service and food. Dough Joes has great pizzas also. Would like to return again 😁

Property is exactly as described! Beautiful hill country views and very private! The beds were super comfortable and the house was very clean and had lots of amenities! The bathrooms were spacious and felt even spa like! I appreciate the communication from Shirley the owner and also Spencer the rental agency! Would have loved to spend more time there! Will definitely be back!!

We stayed in Bandera at the lucky star ranch cabin! Great scenery, quiet, happy animals, and a wonderful getaway spot! Clear instructions, clean cabin, and my wife loved their little fall decor lol as did I. If youre in the area, I highly recommend this place! Great people!

Great location right on the river. Owner was helpful and brought us an air pump for our tube, which was very nice. It was quiet and the scenery is pretty. The cabin itself was fine, nothing fancy but it is a cabin. My only recommendation would be to upgrade the tv to a smart tv. We didn’t watch much, but in the Texas heat after all day on the river it would be nice to relax that way. All in all, this place was great and we will be back.

Had a wonderful stay at Hondo Creek in a cozy cabin. We love back roads and the hill country and this spot was right in the middle of the hills and waterside with a lovely dock! So peaceful! They had everything we needed to cook meals and comfortable beds. This was a great place to just rest and relax but close enough to nearby towns and the Frio River if you’re looking for more activity. The owners were amazing to work with and had great communication.

I enjoyed my stay at the Lee Cabin in Pipe Creek, TX. It was so cozy and very comfortable. Bed was so comfy! Loved the tub and shower was good. I cooked all my meals without a problem. I needed the AC one day then the heater the next! Both worked great. Close to some of the caves and about 20 min to shopping. I did eat 1 meal at the Backyard Bistro next door to the cabin. Real farm to fork!!! Delish!

This house was awesome for our trip. It had everything we needed. A beautiful view from the back porch and yard. Quiet and peaceful. The place was clean and well maintained. We were very comfortable. Even the towels were soft and fluffy. Beds were very comfortable.

Great place to stay! Lots of birds and frog song at night. Perfect place for some astrophotography, far enough to have truly dark skies, but still only an hour and fifteen minutes from San Antonio. Plenty of parking for our family reunion, the road is crushed stone and fords a small stream, but none of the cars had any problems. The road was smooth and the water less than 2/3 inches.The house was well stocked! Do your shopping on the way out, but if you forget anything essential, the property most likely has you covered. Spices and cooking oil in the pantry, toiletries in the bathrooms.There are a total of 5 bed rooms. Three are semi private with queen sized beds. The other two have multiple beds and serve as passageways in and out of the master suits. We were a family reunion, so it worked very well and everyone was comfortable in the beds.Internet worked flawlessly, even with everyone sharing, great TV and sound system, friendly neighbors, and did I mention the dark skies.Most of the family enjoys hiking and camping and we were all delighted with the remote location. A couple of folks preferred hotels, Bandara and Kerrville are only about 30/40 minutes away. It let the whole group visit in a way that everyone preferred.I would highly recommend this property and cant think of anything negative.

This is our first third visit with Backroads and each house we have stayed in is clean and like a home away from home. Our recent house was well stocked so that we could cook meals and enjoy family time . It also was decorated beautifully. The beds were very comfortable. We had a wonderful time.

Texas hill country living at its finest. If you are looking for a place to relax and unplug this is the home. Amazing views from open living room and kitchen areas. Morning coffee watching deer by the river. Spent days at table playing games and puzzles. Naps on the comfy couch waking up to birds calling from feeders off the deck. Easy access for those using walkers/wheelchairs. Internet speed was perfect for my remote work. Also can’t say enough about Spencer and Jess. They were always available for our questions and quickly resolved any concerns.

It was the best weekend ever!! My husband told me to pick a place for my birthday... I saw the claw foot tub and knew instantly this is the place. We disconnected so we could connect!! Thanks for giving the best experience we could have asked for. Great hospitality. The breakfast items set up before we arrived was a nice touch.

I can’t say enough about our experience with The Backroads Reservations.My sisters and I planned a mini get away as we haven’t been around each other in over 20 years.The accommodations were top notch. Everything that you needed was at your fingertips.My sister somehow locked us out and we called and explained our plight. My other sister is a diabetic and needed to get her insulin.They sent someone over within 20 mins .We will be booking our vacation next year through Backroads.SincerelyDorothy S Duggan

We loved our stay at this cabin. It was so quiet and relaxing. Being able to view the stars & the Milky Way was an amazing bonus! The house has everything we needed and plenty of space to spread out for our family & dog friendly. The wraparound porch is where we spent the majority of our time, the views are great! We would definitely stay here again.

We stayed at the Love Shak for our elopement. Everything was perfect! Very clean and roomy cabin with a nice bathroom, deck and fire pit with beautiful view. The owner was very friendly and enjoyed conversation with him. We couldn’t have picked a better place in the hill country for a private wedding and would be great for a couple retreat!

Absolutely Amazing! We stayed in Cabin 2, it was the perfect getaway with my little one. This place was not too far from our horse back riding spot either. Just a few min from downtown as well. We will definitely be back. We loved it, it was quiet and very secluded.

The Texas Two Step home was perfect for us! We loved the home and its accommodations. The deer that was surrounding the area was so cool! Thanks for leaving deer corn so we could feed them! We had a great time! The remodel was beautiful and more than met our expectations! We will be back again for sure!

The stay at Salt Block Santa Fe 5 was amazing. The reservation and confirmation process and app was easy to use and the property was great. Very clean, nicely decorated and furnished with the amenities you would expect! Parking was great. Walking distance to fun places to eat, drink and shop. We would highly recommend staying here.

We stayed at The Hideout for three nights and it was perfect. We wanted to get away and enjoy some peace and quiet and that is exactly what we were able to do. The little cabin is cute, cozy and comfortable. Butch stopped by to introduce himself on day one and even gifted us a horse shoe and left us biscuits for the horses. Waking up to the two horses waiting for their treats by the porch was amazing, not to mention all the deer roaming around. We made breakfast everyday there, found a couple of good lunch spots and grilled some steaks for dinner. Kerrville is a short drive away and we drove there to spend time at The Cross at Kerrville. It was amazing. So if peace and relaxation is what you’re looking for book it now!

It was a perfect weekend getaway. The decor was charming, the amenities were outstanding, and everything was clean and well maintained. The bedrooms were a nice size, and the living room was cozy and comfortable. The appliances and kitchen tools were top notch making it easy to whip up a quick breakfast.

The fishing in the two well-stocked ponds was great! My husband, nephew, and his little boy had a blast. We were very comfortable thanks to the well-stocked kitchen with every pot, pan and gadget we needed. 3H Ranch Mountain Retreat provided comfortable beds fully made plus an ample supply of towels and supplies of everything from shampoo to toothpaste and q-tips. Oh, and the grandkids loved playing with the pool table (even though none were yet tall enough to really manage using a cue).

Backroads made communicating super easy! This is the first time Ive booked with them, but it wont be the last! Something unique that I hadnt encountered booking other companies was their app. It made checking in & out super easy, there was an easy to follow check out checklist in the app plus they had things to do in the various towns around the property, all in the app. Heavenly House was perfect! The pictures were very accurate, but the fenced in yard was not, it was much BIGGER than the pictures give it credit! If you have dogs, you can feel confident letting them out because the fence is secure, and they will love ALLLLLL the room they have to run!

We stayed at the Caboose on Mullers Ark Ranch last Thurs thru Sunday. It was an amazing place to spend some quiet time on a wonderful piece of property. Quite possibly the most peaceful trip Ive taken in 20 years. The property owner himself was an amazing guy and we enjoyed meeting him and knowing some of the propertys history. We HIGHLY recommend this place. My wife and I had such a memorable experience, as did our 3 year old German Shepherd. Thanks to all involved in making this trip happen so smoothly.

Words cannot express how amazing this place is and pictures truly do not do it justice. This is definitely a “Golden Acorn” as my dad would say when he would find a little gem! To start off the booking was extremely easy and the questions I had prior to arrival were answered very quickly. The beauty of this place started at the top of the hill when you have your first glimpse of the Miracle Ranch lakes. We were in awe and stopped to take pictures. We stayed in the Homestead and it was absolutely beautiful. The living room and kitchen were very spacious and the couches were super comfortable and the décor is lovely. The kitchen was stocked with all the items we needed except for a blender which we brought ourselves. The beds and linens were extremely comfortable and we all slept great! I believe the hot water heater is an on demand unit so when we took showers the water would get cold after about 5 minutes and then would get warm again after a couple of minutes, but that was such a minor issue that it really was not something that bothered any of us. There are TV’s in each room and Wi-Fi in the house that was kind of spotty but I cannot say that I was unhappy about that! It was good to disconnect a little from the outside world. The pool was awesome and has a concrete diving board above the 16 foot deep end of the pool. The temperature of the pool was perfect.We had every intention of taking some day trips to shop, horseback ride and float the river but once we arrived we never left. Miracle Ranch had everything we needed. Two crystal clear spring fed lakes that are stocked with Crappie, Bass and Catfish. We swam in both the lakes and the pool and warmed up in the hot tub as the sun started to go down. We also hiked, kayaked and canoed and caught and released dozens of fish! This was a wonderfully relaxing vacation and Megan and Anthony were so amazingly responsive, helpful, sweet, kind and adorable! This is definitely a place I would come back to again and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing outdoor getaway. We all loved it.

We had an AMAZING time at the west 1077 retreat in Bandera Texas ! We had a big family reunion with 50+ people. Everything from the reservation , to check out went so smoothly. The place was clean, they had a pool to hang out in and the lodge area to cool down. The cowboy breakfast they had was different both days we stayed. Ask the chef about the apple cinnamon bread pudding. It was delicious ! ❤️. Spencer, James, Eileen answered our questions, and made special accommodation if we asked. They had horses for rides, trails for hiking or bike riding and several ducks. We got to take some great family photos while we were there too. Would love to come back!

If possible, Summit House was better than the pictures portrayed. The experience we had from start to finish was so professional and easy. Communication with the company was fantastic and we even got a text that the house was ready for us to check in before the listed check in time, which was great, since we drove straight from Georgia. We loved everything from the beautiful house and pool, kayaking, trails, hiking and seeing all the wildlife right out our kitchen window! Thank you and we will not only be seeing you again but are sending others your way!

We had an amazing stay! My husband and I took the kids for a last minute quick weekend getaway to SeaWorld and I stumbled upon the listing. The price was reasonable, the area was gorgeous (both mornings we woke up to adorable deer and our 2nd night we were greated with a trio of raccoons - my kids 💜d it), the beds were great, hot water was hot, and it lasted thru all of our showers! The firepit and grill were an added bonus that made the weekend extra special! We WILL come back!

My husband and I took a two day trip to ride the Twisted Sisters in the Hill Country on our motorcycle (Harley road king). We stayed here the first night. The cottage is adorable - felt like we were stepping back in time to Wyatt Earp’s house! The bed was super comfy and the clawfoot tub very relaxing (with great water pressure and hot water!) The cottage is super close to Bandera and the app has all sorts of good information and tips and tricks.Payment and checkin/checkout were easy peasy.The only cautionary note I would add is for anyone riding a motorcycle. The driveway is gravel and twisting up an incline. This is not conducive to a motorcycle - my husband is VERY experienced and he was nervous. When leaving we had to stop at the bottom of the hill leading to the street so I could get off and run up to the street to make sure traffic was Ok. That allowed him to to get a running start to get through the deeper gravel on the driveway at the street and get onto the road without stopping, stalling, laying it down or backsliding.If you are in a car this is a fabulous place for a weekend getaway!

RRR bunkhouse on the medina was amazing. Beautiful cabin the cabin was very clean and homi,, beautiful scenery. The couple that owns the ranch were great hosts. They were very friendly, and easy going. They were great to myself, my wife and our 2 boys. Great conversation, and were extremely helpful qith whatever we needed. I recommend this cabin to anyone. We will definitely be going back. Thanks so much for the great hospitality.

We stayed at the Carriage Inn in Bandera. Absolutely the best place to stay in Bandera. Our room was gigantic. Consisting of 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with a clawfoot tub, and a huge full kitchen with table and chairs. The backyard is shared but is gigantic with multiple seating areas. The location is perfect. Restaurants, shopping, or a nice saloon all within a quick walk. We do not want to stay anywhere else. Covered parking for your vehicle as well.

The Stronghold was absolutely relaxing. I slept late, cooked full meals, fished and toured the surrounding area. Tricia was so kind and accommodating. She answered my questions and addressed my concerns. My favorite thing to do was sit in the private hot tub and star gaze late into the night. This place is perfect for disconnecting. I will be back.

I stayed at the 7 Canyons Ranch in March 2021. It was fantastic! I found there was so much to do on the property, great hiking/views, exotic animals, a hot tub, pool table, etc. I hardly had to leave the property. I brought my food and everything I needed was available in the kitchen. The best part was drinking coffee with the bison! I really loved all the animals being around all of the time, it was amazing!

Cherry St was a great place to stay in Bandera. The location is great, you can walk all over town from there. The house is modern and well furnished. Its got everything you need and more whether youre cooking inside or outside. Bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. Its a quiet neighborhood at night - and during the day, too, now that I think about it. A great place to stay at a very reasonable rate.

I can say this house was AMAZING!!! The view from the sunrise in the master bedroom will always be memorable.. 55 acres and we got to to enjoy every single acre and the hot tub!! I was definitely done after the hot tub on Saturday night after cooking steaks next to the fire pit!! If I could give 15 stars in a 5 star setting I would! We will be back! Thank you!!

Fantastic spot and cabin. Wonderful silence, stars, buffaloes. Very kind of Jess to give me the free upgrade, but the whole valley there is wonderful. Also a great central spot to tour the hill country. I went to Utopia, Lost Maples and Kerrville and back, a great drive along the Guadalupe. Hope I can make it back sometime.

Backroad Reservations is awesome to book your stay in the Bandera (and surrounding areas). Spencer is great! I love that they have an app and make the instructions and house information easy and detailed so you can plan accordingly. We stayed in the Lonesome Dove directly across from 11th Street Cowboy Bar and it was super cute! We will be staying there again the night of our wedding.

We stayed at the Texas Blue Apple Cottage for 4 days in November. It was a very clean, cosy and comfortable place to stay. We loved the fact that the kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed to make our stay very pleasant. Although we did not spend much time at the cottage, it was so nice to have a relaxing place to come back to after a full day. We will definitely book this place again next spring and highly recommend it to others. Sissy

Looking for a quiet cabin style experience? Be prepared to enjoy your stay at Trisha and Jons red cloud cabin. With amenities ranging from stove, swimmable lake, beautiful scenary, microwave, fridge, grill, roku, A.C. jacuzzi and more! We enjoyed a very comfortable and relaxing stay at the cabin and our french bulldog loved running around and exploring outside. Overall, both Trisha and Jon were very kind, welcoming, a delight with a wealth of wonderful life experience to share along with their cabin!

Nice and quiet stay. Everything was exactly how it was described in the listing. House had everything we needed as for comfort, cooking and just sitting still in Gods amazing creation. Hosts were prompt in responding to questions and very kind. If we plan to stay in the area again in the future this property will be at the top of our list for places to stay.

We stayed at Guadalupe River Retreat. We love visiting Boerne and this beautiful home on a cliff above the Guadalupe river. The home is warm, inviting, super comfortable and with amazing views from a wall of windows. Spencer and Jess with Backroads Reservations do a great job handling all the details of the reservation making arrival feel just like coming home.

Celebrated my Husbands 75th Birthday @ Omie’s Haus and had the most wonderfully relaxing weekend! The “Haus” was beautiful and had every amenity you needed. The biggest decision was which side of the wrap around porch did we want to sit 😊 Made happy memories!

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this quiet cabin in the woods. It is an older home (no ice maker) but clean and tidy and the king bed was unusually comfortable. Its a great location if you want to explore different areas of the hill country - less than an hour from Utopia, Lost Maples State Park, Garner State Park, Kerrville, Bandera. The wifi can be slow, but at least they have it, which is not a given in that area! We had a few questions and owners responded promptly. Note - the closest store is Medina, which is a 20 min. drive, and the closest wet county to buy alcohol is Leakey, about a 30 min. drive.

We enjoyed our stay. This was our second time visiting Lost Maples and staying in this cabin. It is close to both Lost Maples and Hill Country State Park. The layout of the house is great. Plenty of seating and sleeping areas. The kitchen has all of the basic necessities. The bathrooms have plenty of towels. The bedrooms have extra sheets and blankets if needed. We were able to view wild turkeys, white tailed deer, black buck, wild rams and axis deer on the property.

Great little place, my brother and I stayed here after dropping my niece off at summer camp. Awesome base camp to explore the hill country and basically evething cool in Bandera is within walking distance. Shopping, bars, live music and restaurants are all within a few minutes walk. We really enjoyed our stay here. And the Medina river is just a few hundred yards behind the building!

Great Experience! We stayed at the West 1077 Guest Ranch - Red Bud Room 11. Very romantic and the best place to look at stars at night. We booked the horse ride with Outlaw Outfitters and it was amazing as a first time rider they knew exactly what horse to choose for me. We will visit again soon!

This was one of the nicest properties Ive ever stayed in! We had a large group and the house and accommodations were exceptional. Everything is high quality, the beds are comfortable, the backyard with sound system, games, patio, pellet smoker and Tiki bar area are fantastic for hanging with friends and relaxing. If you have a large group and want to have a great time in Bandera...check this one out. Youll love it!

We loved our stay in Bandera @ the 11th Street River House. We were joined by another couple and loved the fact that we were in walking distance of shopping, restaurants and the grocer. We enjoyed a night at the 11th Street Cowboy Bar, and were just minutes from the house. The house was perfect, and the property was beautiful. Spencer & Jess with Backroads Reservations took care of all we had need of with our reservations, and needs we had during our stay. Highly recommend, the house and Backroads Reservations.

Sheets and towels felt luxurious, comfortable beds that were as advertised. Building is rustic on the outside to go with the country theme. We had an excellent time. Coffee on the porch in the morning, even in the August Texas heat was relaxing and interesting with all the deer. Kitchen has a nice big table. The container with deer corn on the porch to feed the herd was an unexpected bonus. Would stay here again.

Fabulous vacation at the Casitas! It was so quiet and peaceful, exactly what we wanted. Although we didnt realize the kitchenette didnt have a stove, it really worked out well. There were lots of restaurants within 20 minutes for dinner and the kitchenette was perfect for a light breakfast and lunch. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we slept well each night. Definitely recommend!

From the southern hospitality to the sheep and deer that wander in the pasture, this home has everything you need for a weekend getaway in the hill country. It’s just as described on the website, clean, quiet and away from town but easy to get to Main St. It is roomy and spacious and has all the necessities plus some. The owners are friendly, prompt and you can tell they have put a lot time and love into making this home welcoming and perfect. Would recommend over and over again.

Really nice set up! Cabin was comfortable with good AC, smart TVs and WiFi. Bed was comfortable too. Owners baked delicious muffins for us. If you like nature, you can sit on the porch and watch the deer come and go. There were other cabins next to us but everyone was quite and respectful. The owners are very nice as well.

Our family of 10; including grandparents, parents and 4 children ages 2-10 years stayed at the Miracle Springs Ranch Lodge for a week in March. We had a wonderful time with plenty of hiking trails, fishing and swimming in the spring fed lakes, kayaking, dark skies, quiet, and serene views. Our girls caught their first fish and learned to safely kayak on their own. The Lodge is basic and very clean, bedrooms and bathrooms are comfy bunkhouse style. The kitchen is well equipped with top of the line appliances for enjoying meals together. The large pool is over the top with waterfall, fireplace, outdoor kitchen and view to match.The host family was exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable, adding to our enjoyment of the ranch. Communication with Backroads Country was always timely and helpful every step of the way. We couldn’t be happier and everyone wants to go back!

We stayed at river rock retreat in Bandera tx it was a great place with a beautiful view of the River in the back yard the fire pit was perfect for the cool nights and a very peaceful environment. We seen numerous types of wildlife while we were there too. Would highly recommend this place to anyone just looking for a quiet and peaceful place to stay with all kinds of history in this town. We enjoyed the getaway! For the most part, it was all that we expected, however there were a few minor disappointments. Pros: the location was great and the views were amazing! The property is really nice - we fished a little from the dock and fed the ducks. It had easy access to Bandera. The cabin was clean and the porch and hot tub were really nice. Cons: the sheets on the bed were not that nice - not soft and seemed a little worn. There was no firewood for the fire pit. The DVD player did not work - it kept freezing on the disk, so we weren’t able to watch movies. Overall, it was a great couple of days in the hill country.

We had a great visit to Hill Country. We visited friends in Kerrville, shopped in Fredericksburg then hiked Enchanted Rock on our way back home. Awesome stay in the cabin. This place was just what me and my family needed. The property has everything required to have a great time and in total comfort. We quickly realized that we over-packed, as the house is fully stocked with all non-food items and with just about everything you need to cook indoors or outdoors. Another perk for us was there was plenty of cleaning supplies, which made meal cleanup and the checkout process super easy. The property we stayed at is an old farm house converted into a lodge style home. The remodel work is amazing and the charm of the original home is still present. Oh, and did I mention private Medina River access?? I would go again in a heartbeat.

The Clark Creek Ranch is a quiet and quaint place to stay with a lot of trails for walking and hiking. Pet friendly was a plus. The area is surrounded with wildlife and nature which is always relaxing. The Wifi works great! The house has an old time feel with great decor. I think a guest book & some general information in regards to eatery in the area would be a nice addition to the cabin.

We loved the Love Shack! Exactly as pictured and described so there were no surprises. The cabin is not that far from the main house but you wouldnt know it. Its very cozy, the back patio was our favorite spot and the hot tub was of course wonderful. The ranch itself was beautiful and spacious. We walked and kayaked and I can see why you would choose it for weddings or events. The only reason were not giving 5 stars is the bed. That was a big disappointment. Mattress sagged, the kind that rolls you to the middle and your feet feel slightly higher than your head. But a relaxing and peaceful stay all together.

We drive up to a beautiful setting. A large ranch style home and two darling cabins. Our host met us as we drove in and welcomed us by name. He was very friendly and told us about the property and it’s amenities. The cabin was most comfortable and decorated in cowboy themes. There is a large river running through the property with abundant fish. We woke up to an incredible breakfast. Love the cabin by the guadalupe river !! Stayed in the River Run Hannas House, lots of space to cook on the grill, clean and manager was nice!! We only had one problem which was with the door knob, the door locks ,seems like it might be loose so after coming in and out it locked us out and we had to get the manager at 8pm to come open our door, it happened again the next day but luckily I was inside to open the door, maybe needs to be changed we just ended up putting tape on it, other than that enjoyed our stay and had lots of fun !!

We love this place! We stayed in the Wrangler room, and it was simply perfect. I could tell the owners/managers have taken much care in planning and maintaining this place. Two comfy king beds, microwave, compact fridge, coffee maker with lovely coffee fixings, and a first rate bathroom. Even a beautiful antique wardrobe for our hanging clothes!This place exceeded my expectations, especially after visiting too many sad, run down places in the Hill Country. I highly recommend!I walked down to the creek, where the water looked tempting.My only suggestion to the owner is to add a bannister to the 4 steps up to the unit. The other rooms have them. From the way this place is kept, I bet adding the bannister is already on the to do list.

We stayed at 7 Canyons Ranch Lodge and had an excellent stay. Fortunately, we saw the animals on the first day, because they ventured into one of the other canyons and we didnt get to see them again. The lodge is very nice and well-maintained. One thing that stood out was that the hot water smelled like sulfur, which I read can be a natural occurrence because of the heating element combined with the minerals in the water. Otherwise, I highly recommend.

We recently enjoyed our 6 night stay at the Hideaway! For COVID conditions, it was ideal! The cabin is a wonderful escape and despite it being essentially a one room cabin, it felt spacious and relaxing! We cooked meals during our stay and spent lots of time on the porch and deck. Hot tea on the porch as the sun came up was complimented by the deer that grazed the grounds and later the friendly horses! The full size fridge helped because we brought in a lot of supplies. While I did miss having an oven, the stovetop and microwave met our needs. Comfortable couch and recliner, good satellite setup, strong internet and plenty of privacy made this rental and easy place to relax and unwind. This wonderfully secluded cabin was also only a short drive to both Bandera and Boerne. Finally, Butch, our host was nearby, friendly and totally unobtrusive. This rental was top-notch in so many ways we will definitely be back!

Loved being by nature and not in a hotel or motel. Seeing wild life was relaxing. The only down fall was the shower head needs to be replaced, it looks like its about to come out of the wall. The cabin itself was the perfect size for a couple. I loved the open floor plan and the wrap around porch.

Excellent area very quiet the only thing I would say was a draw back was there are 2 AC units . 1 in the kitchen one in one bedroom but the other bedroom doesnt have one. They do have several fans so after placing fans in certain positions was able to cool down the room and living room. But outside of that perfect place to relax deer always graze in the large field behind the house. It was just a relaxing nice place to get away

We stayed at the Rockin B Ranch near Pipe Creek Texas. We travel often in the Texas Hill Country, and Susie at Backroads has been great at leading us to many wonderful locations, but this is undoubtedly the best place we have stayed. It is convenient to many activities and restaurants, but you wont want to leave. The ranch property is beautiful and peaceful. We stayed at the Creek View and the accommodation was off the charts. Ranch owner Janice was helpful and gracious. She truly has a gift, and we felt grateful and blessed to have been guests here.

The main house and the casita were excellent and just as advertised. The Hill House was not up to the standards of the rest of the property. It is more of a hunting lodge. We had issues with the air conditioning freezing up and most disturbing, a scorpion infestation on our first night. Spenser and the owner did everything they could to fix the air conditioner issue, but the scorpions were a deal breaker. Spenser found us another house that was 45 minutes each way from the main house. We really appreciated the other housing, but was kinda expecting some compensation for the inconvenience of the first night and the 1 1/2 hours of travel for multiple families members to join the rest of the group on the following 3 days.In conclusion Main House and the Casita with spring fed swimming hole and lake we’re an A+++, Hill house was an F-.Problem resolution from Spenser and owner were addressed ASAP, compensation for 1 very bad night and 3 inconvenient days for multiple family members was not requested, but would have been the right thing to do.Steve

I honestly can’t say enough wonderful things about the Clear Water Cabin in Bandera! My husband and I came up for the week for our anniversary. This was the perfect location! You drive through beautiful landscape to get here, I just love the hills! The property is very easy to find. Once we drove through the gate, we were greeted by the cutest little blonde friends (cows.) The cabin is so cute, and the bed is amazingly comfy and the AC is amazingly cold! The kitchen is fully stocked, and even has a full set of cast iron cookware - which i of course loved!Now let’s talk about the river - Omigosh! It’s just a short little ride from the cabin down to the river. The owners have kept the area beautiful, and we had several picnics out on the grass. There are several entry points into the river from this spot. It is a perfect swimming area! The water feels amazing and is crystal clear! We spent most of the week floating in our tubes, I highly recommend bring some! We caught catfish, perch and a huge bass right there! Bring your fishing poles too! We have seen so many deer! HUGE herds of Axis and Whitetail! Lots of turkeys and even saw a little gray fox.Town is just a short ride, and we frequented OST for breakfast several times. It is so good and surprisingly cheap. TJ’s has great margaritas! Mi Pueblo is awesome for tacos and even homemade horchata! Lowe’s is very well stocked and we were able to find all the groceries we needed! It’s a great town!All-in-all, this trip was exactly what we needed! Life during COVID has been so chaotic. This was the perfect place for us to just find the peace we so desperately need at times, and to just recharge. I love this place and truly hope to come back! ❤️

The Cowboy Cabin at Tabasco Ranch is a GEM! We stay in vacation rentals a lot, and I havent ever seen anything so cute and tasteful at such a great price! The property is beautiful and you feel like you have the run of the place - not just a small cabin. The common cabin is also well-appointed and well done, and its a great bonus to the rental. The owners and rental manager were fantastic. Any questions or problems we had were immediately attended to. The whole stay made for a much-needed and rejuvinating getaway weekend escape!

This may be my favorite cabin we have rented, because of the setting. Located almost midway between Bandera and Boerne, It sits on 5 acres, and there are no close neighbors visible, so we had great privacy, but with all the windows we had an expansive view of the surrounding hills. The porch and patio call you to be outside, and we didn’t see a single mosquito. The two horses are in the yard during the morning hours, adding to the peaceful scene.The cabin itself is relatively new, and well appointed, with a full size fridge, stovetop (no oven), a microwave, and regular coffee maker (coffee provided, but bring your own creamer). The tap water has a strong sulfur smell, but ample jugs of purified water are provided. The bed is comfortable. Good cell service with Verizon, and host said Wi-fi was coming the week after we left.Butch, our host, was very attentive without being intrusive. The one improvement we would have liked is a motorized gate with a keypad. We stayed several days, and manually opening and closing it grew old. But this place is relatively new, and I expect will experience regular enhancements.

This is everything a business should be: People-owned, people-run, and people-centric. Spencer and his team are amazing -- responsive, accommodating, and completely available to their customers. We were making a last minute booking, and Spencer went ABOVE AND BEYOND in making sure we get the perfect place for what we needed. I should mention this was during the holidays, too. If you care about how you spend your money and what you support with it, you probably dont like to give mega corporations like AirBnB your hard-earned money, pay their numerous and ridiculous fees, and deal with an algorithm. The house was very clean inside with lots of room to stretch out!What could be improved: the yard needed some clean up,the lawn furniture was rusted and some chairs were broken but most of all the bed in the master room was very hard and uncomfortable. Everyon in town was very friendly and the food and entertainment was EXCELLENT!! We will be back

Im very happy with the service. At first I thought the extra charges for staying only one night, and bringing a pet werent listed, but I went back and looked. They were listed, I just overlooked it. Im sorry about that. The cabin was perfect. I love the way its decorated. I would definitely stay there again. It had a lot of thoughtful little touches.

This hotel style cabin, Bandera Tin Star, is exceptionally clean and comfortable! The owner greeted us on arrival along with their friendly dog, Dixie. They showed us the unit and answered questions about great restaurants in town. It is close to Bandera, but far enough out, about a mile or two, that it is private and peaceful. Wifi provided as well as coffee and filters. We didn’t have good cell service inside the room, but were able to step on the front porch to make calls. Would definitely stay again! Be sure to visit Pap’s Italian Restaurant and the Backyard Bistro, both are excellent!

Loved Gracie’s Placeon the Sabinal! For just being a bedroom with an en suite bathroom, it was all we needed! So well-decorated and needs provided for, the host was wonderful, and the yard view through the glass door was peaceful and serene. I liked that Backroads Reservations called me before finalizing the booking to make sure we knew there was no kitchen (we didn’t), so that we could plan ahead. We’ll definitely look for more places through them instead of VRBO next time!

This little house/cabin/getaway piece of heaven was just what the doctor ordered! I’ve been on the front lines for a good 5 months and it was nice to take a break for 4days and relax!! It’s such a great way to wake up and see the amazing view from the window or walk outside and see the stars at night so clear you feel like you could touch them! My girlfriend and I had such a romantic and relaxing extended weekend at the Antler Run Ranch!!! A++++++!!!!!!

River Rock Retreat is a great place to have a nice relaxing break. It is super cute with recent remodel with great decor, feels very fresh & new. We had a great time in the river out back and we’re close to Bandera where we checked out the local rodeo and did a longer raft trip on the Medina. It made for a great long weekend. Mgmt was very responsive to questions and helped make it a great long weekend. Thanks!!

Stayed at Trails end retreat in Bandera.Great location, can sit on front porch and listen to band playing at 11st cowboy bar. Only request i would put in to add to the room is somewhere to hang up clothes, can hang on back of bathroom door but we had many items that needed to be hung up. AC cold, shower hot and good power.

The first time my husband and I stayed at “Vintage Cowboy” was during July 4th, 2022. I decided then, this was the place I would be spending my sabbatical. It’s a secluded area, without a tv and phone, unless you choose! You are out away from the busyness that comes with life. For me it was a time to dig in the Word of God, worship as loud as I wanted, without being disturbed!!was. I enjoyed sitting under the porch , having the elk in my front yard, listens to the birds sing, and watching the cats catch butterflies. I find this place to be a place for restoration and relaxation.I must say that I will be returning in 2023.

Backroads Reservations has a great selection of rentals in a variety of Texas towns. We stayed at the Bandera Box house in downtown Bandera for the weekend. The accommodations and location were perfect for our group. We were able to walk into the downtown area to restaurants, shops and bars. The rental house had a great kitchen, living area, outdoor spaces and enough beds for everyone in our group. We will definitely book with this company again in the future and look forward to future trips.

Bandera Sunset Cottage. This is one of two suites in a cottage on a ridge that overlooks the beautiful hill country horizon south of the town of Bandera. It is situated in a small rural neighborhood near the intersection of State Hwy 136 and Ranch Road 1077. As you can see from the pictures, there is a porch along the side of the cottage which you will have all to yourself, and it opens out to a large yard. When we sat quietly on the porch or looked out the window, we would occasionally see deer and other wildlife cross through the yard especially at dawn or near sunset. Also the iconic County Courthouse, although about a mile away, is clearly visible in the distance from the porch and through the windows. The owners live on another part of the property, not in the cottage. They are wonderful people and respect your privacy.Because of the location, its possible to access Bandera City Park, Hill Country State Natural Area, and most of the area ranch resorts without driving through town. The State Natural Area is about a 20 minutes away. On the other hand, if you drive through town you can reach Love Creek Orchards about 20 minutes to the west, and Real Ale Project and Hill Country Cellars Winery, which are less than 10 minutes to the east.We stayed here 4 days and had a really wonderful time!

Lambert Park was clean and comfortable. Saw lots of whitetail and axis deer! Water in Medina River was low. TV wasnt cable/satellite as was said to be when we reserved the house. TV is Roku. Take extra towels/washcloths as supply there is limited. All in all a very nice, clean place to stay while in Bandera.

I found Gracies place on VRBO but couldnt book it through them because of a rate error. I had to book through the owner instead even though there was no error. I assumed since I had found it on VRBO I was renting the entire house not a room. Previous experiences with VRBO I have rented a entire house. That being said the I had some particular issues to work through like needing a means to cook the food I packed in, etc. The host was very gracious an accommodating in getting us what we needed. The property was georgeous. The host was pleasant. We had everything we needed for the weekend. It was an special weekend for us and we had a relaxing time and truly enjoyed our stay.
