Annies River Cottage is the perfect getaway destination to explore the Texas Hill Country while staying in an amazingly well kept historical cottage. Built in 1890 as a trading post, this cottage has vintage charm with all the necessary modern amenities to keep you comfortable during your stay. Annies River Cottage was a perfect place to radiate out to Vanderpool and to hike the Lost Maples, one of my childhood favorite parks, as well as travel a short drive to Fredericksburg to explore restaurants and shops, in particular, go to one of my favorite German restaurants, Auslander. We were able to close the trip with a short hop to Luckenbach and ended the night watching fireworks from the Cottage front porch to bring in 2025. Could not have had a better time and hope to come back and visit! As a native of the Hill Country living in Houston, this was the perfect encapsulation of the beauty and charm of the area. Hope to come visit again!

We stay at Annie’s a few times a year! Life is hectic so when we feel burned out this is where we go! We grab groceries for the weekend and move in like we own it! It’s the best place to unwind and disconnect. My son and I love getting in the river and fishing. I love waking up early to have coffee and see the deer or the river. The owner has a deer feeder and keeps in full every visit so we get to see them

Annie’s is a true hidden gem in the hill country of Texas! The home is historical and extremely charming! We loved spending our mornings on the back patio over looking the river and our evenings on the wrap around porch looking out into the large field with deer! The amount of peace and serenity you feel staying here is truly a treasure! Another great point about Annie’s my family came to visit with her two travel trailers and were able to park on site! Our day trips to Fredericksburg, enchanted rock, Kerrville, etc. made This llocation the place I will continue to come back to. Thank you, Annie’s

I had a lovely time at the cottage with my wife.It’s good for the soul to be able to relax with nature at its best. Listening to the wind lightly blowing through the trees and the sound of the river flowing through the property.I’m impressed with the cleanliness of the grounds and cottage.I would strongly recommend staying there.It’s a game changer !

The most amazing vacation rental! The views are outstanding, and the property is well maintained. We will definitely be back. We loved going down to the private river front with no one around to float. Cooking on the decks and just disconnecting from life!
