We could not have been happier with our experience using John Paul to find our new home. He was hard-working, quick to respond to any emails or texts, and he always had our best interests in mind.The real estate market is pretty intense in Austin right now, and John Paul was amazing at helping us navigate options all over the city, and find the one that was exactly right for our family. He genuinely cared about our long-term happiness in the home, and he had great insights into what day-to-day life in some particular house might be like today, as well as how that house might change over the next 20 years.

I loved working with John Paul Porter. He really cared about us and was extremely attentive to all of our needs. As first time home-buyers it was a strange and new process but John Paul helped us every step of the way. From driving around and looking at houses for 3 hours, to connecting us to the best lender and homeowners insurance agents, I do not think this experience would have gone nearly as smooth if John Paul hadnt been facilitating it. He really goes above and beyond for his clients and I couldnt recommend him more.

I worked with John Paul to purchase my first home and also to sell my first home (due to relocation). I cant say enough wonderful things about this man and how much he assisted with making these larger purchases and big life changes!While looking for my first home, John Paul asked the perfect questions (that I would have never thought of!) and matched me with ideal starter home. He was patient when showing me around the city and we had a blast together! He patiently explained all the paperwork I needed to sign and understood when I needed further clarification.Once I made the decision to sell and relocate to my hometown, John Paul helped me make the home sale extremely successful! We had 3 showings and 3 offers the first day we listed the house!! He helped consult with my husband and I on little things we could change in order to make a big impact. He knew the exact price to list it at and helped talk thought the necessary negotiations. What a guy!I really cant say enough wonderful things about John Paul, his professionalism, his dedication and his personality. He will help you buy/sell and house and youll have a great time doing it! If I end up moving back to Austin, I wouldnt hesitate reaching out to John Paul IMMEDIATELY to help! He was able to point out pros/cons of each area we looked in- truly his knowledge of each of the areas around Austin seems so vast. I have worked with John Paul and will continue to work with him exclusively whilelooking for a home in Round Rock. He is very patient, knows the area very well,and actually makes house hunting fun! I love the fact that he gives a history lessonof the area and actually answers questions I have about the homes and the neighbor-hoods they are in. When my husband and I had to postpone house hunting for afew months, he has very graciously kept us up to date and continues to send listingsfor us to look at. I am so happy that I have met him as many previous experiencesin other markets have not been as positive. Go John Paul!!!

Man, what can I say about John Paul? The dude is on it. I know he typically works sales, but we needed to rent our house ASAP. He was able to get pictures and listed over the weekend, we had a ton of showings and got it leased within a week at peek market price!I have worked with him several times over the years, and every time he puts 100% effort into your property as if it is the only one he has (it certainly isnt).As an former Texas Real Estate Agent, now actively working in Maine, I hate to pass up work I can do myself, but being remote I can no longer do this myself, so if I *HAVE* to, it goes to John Paul, every time.

For anyone whos ever bought a house, you know the stress and frustration that can go into that process, especially if youre new to the area youre looking to buy in. I was coming from Colorado to Austin and this was my first trip to Austin. I had the fortune (or misfortune) of coming during the week of SxSW - an event that I was not wholly aware of at the time, nor of its significance. So, you can imagine the unease of my introduction to the Austin area without the added stress of having to deal with searching for a house.I had done this dance before. My first realtor (in Colorado) showed me what I asked to see, but made no other suggestions. He answered my questions as I had asked and offered no extra information. He had the personality of someone who was late to his own funeral and really wanted to be there. Aside from his attitude, he was helpful to a point. He did answer my questions, but failed to offer any concerns about properties or certain areas that would have been nice to know. And all those things that we as buyers dont see in the background, he took care of. A transaction was performed and nothing more.When considering a realtor, you want someone who understands you or at least tries to get to know you. You want someone who knows the area well, and who can make suggestions on properties you may have not seen or noticed in your initial search. You want a realtor who knows the laws, tricks, and has the inside info to guide you in making the best decision you can with a six-figure (or more) purchase! You want more than just a transaction; you want someone who understands customer service.I have done customer service in many different industries. I know what Im looking for when I see someone whos got it. So often we see who doesnt have it - bad service at a restaurant, phone options that are designed to keep you from a human, surprise fees or costs on getting a warranty item repaired, etc. I know of no better example of anybody in any industry that I have encountered who understands customer service, and the customers needs, better than John Paul Porter.I had the pleasure of spending several days with him as he helped find a house to buy. He asked questions - what did I like, what were my interests, what were my hobbies. I felt like I was talking with a friend. And, indeed, we are now friends. John Paul knows the Austin area very well! I dont recall a question I asked that he didnt almost immediately know the answer to. Where are the good schools, whats the crime like in certain areas, are there any potentially dangerous nuclear power plants or zombie-virus medical research centers nearby. Ok, I joke a bit. But he had an answer for me for each question. And not just an answer and thats it, but an answer, anticipation of what I might ask, and then answering that!I know I dont have similar knowledge of other realtors in the area (and Im sure there are many good ones), but I can assure you that you will get the best service and guidance from John Paul if you are looking for a property in the Austin area.Thank you, John Paul, for the wonderful experience!
