I recently acquired the property from my previous marriage and was excited to make some updates and get this home on the market and sold. Unfortunately, after beginning some of the cosmetic repairs I quickly realized it was too big of a project for me to take on myself. I needed to make more repairs than I could afford with the additional mortgage payment so I decided to look at real estate investors. Shortly after I decided this, i saw a we buy houses sign. That was my sign it was the right decision (literally lol). I met with a few different companies, including Big Tex Home Buyers. I was immediately comfortable with Carlos Baker! He is very knowledgeable and made me the best offer out of all the investors I met with. There were a few issues with the home we weren’t initially aware of and he helped me navigate them perfectly! He called me regularly with updates on where we were at in the process and when there was one expense we hadn’t anticipated, he offered to take care of it and take it out of the sale proceeds vs me having the immediate financial burden or backing out. If you are not in the Houston area, have no fear because Carlos Baker travels! Fill out the form at the bottom of the website, which will take you to the rest of the form. Answer truthfully about the condition of your house and its short comings. When I did it, I received an email shortly afterward and as I was typing in my reply, Mr. Baker called and explained how their process works. Talk about service!!!Before my daughter-in-law took a picture of their work van which had their URL, we had tried online clearing houses and “post card” realtors. It is astounding that when you are offering up a house at a discounted price for someone to flip and make money, you would think they would answer/respond to one’s inquiries. A few online responses were ridiculously low. The “post card” realtors..? One actually answered their phone and wanted to see the house… they didn’t show up, respond to texts or calls afterward. The others couldn’t seem to actually talk to us on the phone or even hold a text conversation. A nationwide clearinghouse did have representatives who were efficient like Carlos in contacting us both by text and phone calls, but their process was much more drawn out. There is no comparison to Carlos’!Carlos Baker’s process is smooth as glass. He truly believes in a win-win scenario where everyone is happy! We provided the address of the house at the end of the day. He contacted us back the next morning with a price range and explained why the range was where it was (on the low side of what we were hoping to get for the house because there weren’t any comps in the last six months). Once all of the family members were in agreement to consider the range, we let Carlos know and he met us at the house. He drove several hours to the location. Even though the house had some issues, he did not low-ball us. He calculated the amount and actually rounded it up!!! After everyone agreed, he got the ball rolling using his title company who has mobile notaries. This feature was awesome as all of the inheritors/owners are scattered about SE Texas.Throughout the entire process, Carlos was easy to contact when we had questions and would keep in touch to let us know where we were in the closing process. I have already been recommending him to others and wanted to continue spreading the good news by posting here.
