I want to give a special thanks to the Wellby branch of Galveston. Allow me tacknowledge Vanessa who literally saved me from losing my retirement. She prevented me from falling into a well- organized scam operation.She took the time to speak with me to extract me from this trap of wiring money to a scammer. Vanessa had enough concern to contact Miss T in the fraud department. Miss T became a lifesaver for me. Miss T not only showed concerne,she also demonstrated the act of caring. Miss T and Vanessa both emphasized they were there to protect me. They never made me feel as if I should’ve known better. They both spoke to me as a victim and did everything they could to help me as a person and not simply a bank member. Without Vanessa first, noticing my entanglement with a scammer, and then having the insight to call Miss T in the fraud department, I would have separated from my money . The Wellby team of Galveston, Texas not only protected my money, the team also recognized I was in a vunerrable position as Miss T stated, and carefully brought me back to reality. I initially considered closing my accounts with Wellby; however, with the sincere concerns from the Wellby staff , Including the bank manager, I will remain a member.I jokingly call Ms. Vanessa and Mis. T my new best friends. They both went beyond their duties as employees of Wellby,. They protected me and helped me as if we were friends. I want to thank and acknowledge Vanessa for displaying not only care, she was discreet . Miss T took more than 30 minutes as I sat in the Wellby parking lot to bring me out of this vicious cycle of Identity theft . I told her she could be a psychologist because she led me to think about this situation as the sammer continued to call. Moreover, the manager of Wellby Galveston took the time to make sure I was OK the next day. This team went above and beyond, to say thank you is an understatement for a job well done by Mis. Vanessa!!

We were at Wellby’s Galveston Branch to deposit a check today. On an impulse we spoke with Branch Manager Laura Arratia about refinancing our car. Because we’re rebuilding our credit, we were not optimistic. To our pleasant surprise, she took time out of her busy schedule to counsel us and was able to get approval for a refinancing loan which was at a significantly lower rate than our present rate. Throughout the process Laura proved to be congenial and professional not to mention extremely helpful. Caecilia and I highly recommend Wellby’s and Laura Arratia.

Great credit union but very disappointed they moved away from UTMB - from downtown Galveston to Central Blvd, near the Seawall & 61st. I rarely go that far across the island. AND there is no drive through! I will be considering moving to a more locate credit union. I know it is not that far but it is when the island is heavily populated, traffic is crazy esp. during the summer. I joined for the convenience not it is not so convenient.

My Latin people, here at this location the manager is Laura Arratia and such a kind and kind person cannot be found anywhere else. Our case was sad and no one else wanted to help us at our bank in Wellby, but they transferred us to speak with Mrs. Laura and she, apart from being so nice and kind, is capable and knows how to work the system to help you. Something that had me on the verge of crying that no one else could help me with was resolved when I talked to her and explained everything to her. Thanks to Laura Arratia for her kindness and goodwill.
