I’m on my 7th house and have used just as many mortgage companies to finance these homes. I typically use the builders preferred lender or call around to mortgage companies myself checking requesting rates and closing costs. This is the first time I’ve gone through a mortgage broker and I’m kicking myself for not doing it sooner. Jerome found me the best rate, answered my countless questions, and assisted by making this the smoothest home buying experience yet. He was able to give us a clear to close in just a couple of weeks and offered us the lowest rate available. I normally dont do reviews, but Jerome and his team are top notch. As a first time home buyer, I had no idea where to begin. That is where Jerome enters the picture. He explains the entire process. He answered all the questions I had. In short, he made the process of buying a home as straight forward as possible. It might seem daunting at first but I assure you it is easier than it seems. My wife and I recently used Mr. Johnson to facilitate a refinance on our home. With the rates at such a low rate, we really wanted to lock in on a lower rate.We JUST bought our home in December of 2019, it we were torn on the decision to do so in such a short time. Jerome was amazing at sending us information on the process, making it about as streamlined as one could hope. Being a veteran, I have used the VA Streamline refi in the past and knew that it was pretty easy. However, I didnt really understand how much more improved the process would be with Jerome. He was thorough to ensure all questions were covered, we COMPLETELY understood the numbers, and he gave us several options for paying closing costs out of pocket vs. rolling some (all) of them into the new loan. I cannot recommend him enough. Im a numbers guy and was constantly asking for variations to the numbers. My wife and I hired Jerome Johnson, of Edge Home Finance, for a VA Loan refinance in December 2020. In April 2020 I purchased a home at a time of tremendous market and interest rate volatility due to the COVID pandemic. Due to wild interest rate fluctuations I decided to lock in a rate which subsequently lowered another 2%. Six months after closing on the original loan, I contacted Jerome to see what my options were to refi at a much lower rate. With his superior knowledge of market dynamics Jerome immediately engaged and sent me a loan estimate which lowered my payments almost $1,000 a month! From the time I accepted the estimate until closing was an amazingly expeditious 31 days, despite this time crossing over Christmas. Through the entire process Jerome remained a pivotal instrument in creating a smooth process to closing our VA refi. Jerome is professional, dedicated, caring, honest, and determined.
