When I was growing up my father would purchase a new Cadillac every five years for my mother to drive. I decided I would ask why a Cadillac versus any other vehicle. My father’s response was, it is built for a comfortable ride not for speed and to be flashy. It has the power to go fast, it has the design to be painted to be flashy but that is not what it is designed specifically for.Your investment in a home purchase is no different. You can purchase a home and add things to it to be flashy or impress people. You can also purchase a home to create equity while you live comfortably. We made the choice to live comfortably.The home search for me and my family took about two years because we were learning as much as we can about the Houston Metro market and what it had to offer being that we are not originally from Houston.Patience was the greatest virtue in the time that we spent hunting for a home and God “just being God “put Heath Barnes from Cardinal Financial in our path. They are not your typical mom and pop lenders who have no idea what they are doing.- Document collection (very methodical)- Never had to repeat any document that I had sent- They parsed all the info sent- Never had to face the mood swings and BS of underwriters, they deflected all of that by front ending and cordinating the exchange of data- Closed on a complicated loan in less than 18 days (typical closing for me has always been around 30 days)- Did not have to lift a finger during the whole transactions- They answers the questions everytime we had any- They made the time to discuss everything, as opposed to the hundreds of lending clowns out there who are just in the rush to push paper.(FC lending being one of the prime examples)
