Marcus and the First Bank support team were intensely involved with my loan every step of the way. Marcus and I talked or emailed nearly daily. Marcus identified that my credit could be improved if I paid down certain balances. By doing so, my credit scores rose 80 to 131 points across the three bureaus. As a result, I was able to get a substantially lower interest rate and a reduced cost of the loan. Once I made the payments, Marcus personally pushed the underwriting and credit departments to adopt the higher credit scores and lower interest rates, Marcus (and Tyler Roof) kept me well informed and current with my loan. First Bank was able to use an emergency provision in the real estate regulations (related to the Covid-19 State of Emergency) to even do the funding on my refinance, as it was the second within a year.I can honestly give an absolutely perfect score to the First Bank loan and the process that Marcus Thompson led me through. I do not even have suggestions for improvement, which is a first for me. I also want to compliment First Bank on not having other departments contacting me through or during the loan process. That is amazing corporate restraint and management.

I was set to close my new home loan on Monday when the preceding Thursday my original lender, a lender I had previously used, decided I did not, in fact, qualify. Admittedly, my situation was a little unorthodox going in, but I was bolstered by all of the reassurances they gave me. Then they pulled the rug! I was devastated. Luckily, I surround myself with cooler heads, such as my agent, and she told me to reach out to a new lender. This is when I was introduced to Phillip and First Bank through a friend.Phillip was very kind and clearly understood what I was going through. I sent him all of the documents my original lender requested and after he went through it all, late in the evening of the same day I thought I had lost my new home, Phillip told me that this was absolutely doable. In about 20 days after switching lenders Phillip and his team were able to navigate my complicated situation and bring me to closing with an even better loan than the other guys had promised! I cannot tell you how much I appreciate Phillip Wagner and Stephanie McLaughlin for all of the hard work they clearly did to get me into my new home with a fantastic loan and in so little time. Given my results, I sincerely give Phillip and First Bank my highest recommendation.

Ronnie helped me with my original mortgage in 2012. He reached out to me in May to check on me and my situation. He told he rates had gone down and wanted to let me know he may be able to help me lower my monthly payment. In the end I was able to do a refi and pull out equity to pay down existing debt. While my monthly payment is a bit higher the offset by paying off other high interest debt is worth it. A huge monthly savings is what I was able to achieve.

Mark not only helped me understand what we could afford based on what we wanted our monthly payment to be, but he gave me tons of extra information and advice to help me make a decision that would not only be right for my family in our current situation but down the road as well. Mark was very patient with us throughout the entire process, sometimes answering the same questions three or four times and at all hours. Mark made himself as available as possible and we always felt like our mortgage was the most important thing in his world.
