We recently contacted Bill Joplin’s Air Conditioning and Heating for preventative maintenance on our HVAC system. I was impressed from the beginning. I was notified when they were enroute and when they are about to arrive. The tech, Justin, that came out was EXTREMELY knowledgeable and thorough while explaining what he would be checking. He gave me options for future service if I was interested. I will definitely be using them from now on for my AC and Heating maintenance.

I am a long-time customer of Joplins using them for preventative maintenance and repair. Recently during a record cold spell one of my HVAC units required service. The required repairs were performed by Mr. Whitaker within a couple of hours of my call to Joplins. Mr. Whitaker is always extremely professional and courteous whether doing my preventative maintenance or an emergency repair.

EDIT:I left the review below after my initial experience with Bill Joplin’s. I was immediately contacted by the manager Alberto who apologized and sincerely wanted to make things right. We still had ongoing issues with our AC, and the blower kept turning on and off. I called this team back and Alberto sent out one of his best technicians, Mike. Mike was able to diagnose the root cause of it all - a faulty motor speed control board. They were able to get this replaced the next day and my system is finally working right.————-Bottom Line: Bill Joplin’s Air Conditioning and Heating provided inadequate, overpriced service with a lack of thoroughness and ethical standards. I would not recommend their services.I called Bill Joplin’s on July 15th due to persistent issues with my AC unit, which kept shutting off and needed restarting at the breaker. The technician (James) charged a $119 diagnostic fee but couldn’t identify the problem. That evening, the unit failed completely. When they sent James back, he diagnosed a faulty blower motor, requiring a replacement. The part took three days to arrive, and the replacement cost $2,150, handled by a second technician (Ryan).Six hours after the blower motor was replaced, the unit wasn’t cooling effectively. I called them again, and the next morning, a third technician (Misa) inspected it. With cooler overnight temperatures, the house had reached the thermostat setting of 72 degrees. Misa recommended cleaning the air handler/blower housing and the outside condenser, quoting $399 and $125, respectively. I scheduled this for the following week.In the meantime, other HVAC companies informed me I had overpaid significantly for the blower motor replacement. They also pointed out that the technician should have cleaned the housing during the replacement, given its moldy state. Neither the initial nor the second technician mentioned the mold issue. This lack of communication and care raises serious ethical concerns.A week later, the AC again failed to cool properly. Bill Joplin’s wanted to charge another $219 for overtime service and couldn’t come until later that day. I decided to call another HVAC professional, who arrived within 30 minutes and performed a thorough diagnostic. He found ice buildup on the air handler and low Freon levels in the outside unit. He also noticed the mold and cleaned it immediately, emphasizing the health risks. He got the unit working that afternoon for a reasonable fee.Based on my experience, I find Bill Joplin’s Air Conditioning and Heating to be focused on profit over customer care. Their service was inadequate, overpriced, and lacked the necessary thoroughness and ethical standards. I would not recommend their services.

Joplin’s did everything they said they would do, when they said they would with great people and great service. Their prices came in aggressive but fair. You’ve gotta have “A guy” for everything and I have my HVAC guy. Grant took his time and did a great job explaining my options. Rogelio and his crew were prompt, polite and very respectful of our home during the install completing it on time and leaving everything cleaner than they found it. Joplin’s is the only call you need to make.

Andrew Wright was Prompt, professional, knowledgeable. I went with another vendor for a complete new system based on price and financing options. Otherwise I would have had Joplin’s install our new system. Edited from 4 stars to 5, afterthought circumstances regarding financing or price point should not portray a negative picture of the vendor. And Im having them (Joplins) come out and add a larger filter deck (from 1 inch to 5 inch filter) since the installing vendor did not change the filter deck as part of the new system install. Note to self, when a price discount is offered remember to ask what, if anything, was removed from the quote. My fault for not asking the other vendor that question.

When he came back inside about 20 minutes later, he said that he found the issue that was causing the issue of the motor. He literally saved me $800+. Anyone else could have just ended the call with the issue of the motor and replaced it. I appreciate his honesty and his ability to continue to problem-solve.

Their appointment-booking staff have always been helpful in setting times and informing me with updates as to the name and arrival time of their technicians, who were usually there for yearly preventive maintenance visits. Upon arrival, their technicians (including Greg) have always been polite, professional, honest, and thorough. On occasion when they indicated that a part of a unit needed repair and replacing, they were willing to show me (a retired scientist) their measurements or observations of the defective part. Also, the final report of their visits detailed their work. I have no reservations in recommending Joplin for your HVAC purchase, maintenance, and repair needs.

The technician Jason looked over the unit and found that the fan guard had loosened and to a much lesser extent the fan screws too.Jason tightened everything up, did an evaluation on the capacitor and coolant level finding those items to be working and at the appropriate levels.I appreciate Joplin’s service for the quick availability and the exceptional and professional service I received from Jason.

Great company, not salesy at all. They’re willing to be open and communicate all options for repairs or replacements without trying to convince you to purchase a brand new system. Our technician that came out, Cody, was extremely courteous and very knowledgeable. He quickly troubleshooted the issue with our upstairs AC, got us a bid fast for the part that needed replacing, and the office team, who has also been super nice, called back within the hour to get us scheduled for the replacement even earlier than was anticipated. Our air conditioner stopped cooling during the night while we were in the middle of the heat wave 100+ days. My husband called in a service call to Joplin’s Air Conditioning & Heating around 8:30 am on a Saturday morning. Ance Thomas one of their service tech showed up by 11:30. He was very knowledgeable and professional. He worked hard outside in the heat and in our hot attic figuring out the problem. After spending time diagnosing the problem he let me know what the problem was and what it would cost to fix the issue. He then worked to resolve the problem and he got our house cooling again. This is my first experience using Bill Joplin’s A/C company, and I have to say I wish I had found them sooner for many reasons! Had a great experience with Joplin AC, they were the second ac company I called out after having a different company try to hard sell me on a membership and a replacement of my 5 year old condenser without even attempting to repair or troubleshoot it. Thankfully I knew a good deal about HVAC after spending my career in multifamily so I spotted the red flags early and knew I needed to call a different company out. I found Joplins through my neighborhood group and decided to call them since so many neighbors were recommending them throughout the years and am so glad I gave them a try. The technician that came out was great, he quickly assessed the situation and asked what my goals were, and then told me what he could do. He didn’t try to hard sell me on anything I didn’t need or want, and quickly set to work getting my upstairs ac up and running again. Super grateful and will definitely use them again. I highly recommend them! I also highly recommend you always get a second opinion when it comes to big ticket replacements, especially if your intuition is telling you that there could be another answer. Joplins is a great company to call for that second opinion.

The Joplin install crew was very professional. They put down tarps, they were kind to the furry family members, and vacuumed the floors under the tarps before leaving. My service person, Justin (Representive 379), was very nice and approachable. He was very transparent about what he was doing the whole time. I appreciated how he helped me understand. I liked the way he didnt just try to throw parts at a problem, but methodically researched the issue. I would definitely call this company again, because they care. Youre not just a sales call, and theyre not there to just make a commission. Thank you, Bill Joplins! Also, they have Saturday hours and its not an after hours emergency, but you have to call early. The diagnostic/service call fee was reasonable at $119. Im a happy customer!

I have been using Joplin for many years. I use there premium service where they come out twice per year and do filter exchanging along with a priority service of our heating and air conditioners. Greg Whitaker is the Master Technician that I would request but Joplin also have several other techs that have come out over the years and they are all good has been my experience. They will advise if there is a potential issue but will not sell you services or parts that you do not need. From my perspective this is a Quality organization that is well run and well managed. The techs have clean uniforms, clean trucks that represent a well run company. The equipment I have has always run well and efficiently and when I had a problem they came out as a priority and resolved it. Big Thanks to Greg and The Joplin team for managing our HVAC system so well.

Very fast and professionalGreg Whitaker did an exceptionally thorough job of figuring out why my furnace was not working on my side of the house. Motor was not functioning. He also changed our filters that my husband had purchased. Very courteous and helpful.We have used Joplin since first moving to McKinney in 1997. They have done repairs in two houses that we have lived in plus replaced two units in our first home.They also have an excellent system that lets you know when their technician is on the way, which includes his name and a picture!
