    Hired Jason and his company to build a casita in our backyard to give my niece and my sister their own living space in our house in Leander. They did a great job, very happy with the end results.     We had the pleasure of working with Jason and his crew on the designs of a second house on an investment property. When we reached out initially, Jason was quick to show us his other work and provide us with excellent referrals. He is very upfront and extremely knowledgeable. Whenever we needed something or didnt understand a part of the process, he was quick to respond. He walked us through the complications of our specific lot and came up with a design and aesthetic we were really happy with. He also provided some great renderings so we knew what wed be getting (see pics). The details he provided were thorough and well beyond what we expected. The build price for all that Small House Solutions proposed was fair and much more affordable than other design/build companies we interviewed. We ultimately decided to sell the property instead of building, but we will be referring Small House Solutions to all of our friends in the area. Thanks Jason!

    We worked with Jason and the Small House team from end-to-end to build an accessory living space (Guest House) in our backyard. We started with the design team -- designing exactly what we wanted. We designed a living space, kitchenette, office nook, guest bedroom, and bathroom. We added a workshop/storage area on the side too. Total of 870 sq. ft.Jason came on-site and was very knowledgeable. He walked us through all the considerations and challenges of building in a tight lot within Austin city limits. They delivered a custom design with all the appropriate engineering and site documentation to allow for permit approval in Austin.We then contracted Small House to build the structure. They were a one-stop shop. They handled everything from the permit approval and city inspections to managing the entire build, start to finish.Project managers were great. High-quality work, and the build was faster than expected. Little elements here and there were handled so easily. The team was so responsive and just overall great partners.If you are looking to add more living space to your property,Highly recommend!

    I wanted to put a tiny house on my daughters farm outside Austin. I was getting confused looking at all the different park models at retailer sites. Then I discovered Jason, and his custom design process was just what I was looking for. It reassured me that I would get the right house for me and I got to see it before it got built.Then he supervised the build and the delivery. Because of some crazy rain the delivery got delayed, but Jason stayed right on top of things and he got my unit in place. When you get into any project like this you have to figure you will run into some problems. Jason handled everything that came along just great and made sure that I got what I wanted.This is a guy you can rely on and hes fun to work with.

    We contracted with Small House Solutions for the design of an additional dwelling unit on existing property, and have been incredibly pleased with their team throughout the process. From the first discussions with Jason it was clear they have an immense amount of helpful knowledge, especially specific to small home building. Realistic expectations were set on day one, and the process felt like we were leading the direction of the project with a professional guide educating us every step on the way. There are many moving parts to the applications/permits process, and the team kept everything running smoothly. It was seriously impressive. All of our emails were responded to in record time. When we got to the final stages of the design, and a few changes were required, they were worked through with a kind attitude and much patience. You can tell their goal is honestly to help you achieve yours. Everyone from the team was helpful, and offered service that exceeded expectations. We absolutely recommend them!

    Quality work on a budget.Small House Solutions converted our garage to an office/family room/laundry room. We were very happy with their work: the construction was very high quality and they were mindful of our budget.They demolished, poured concrete to level our floor, framed out and installed a new door and four windows (including the masonry work needed for the window installation), installed insulation and new drywall, painted, stained the concrete, and installed a tankless water heater (among other things).In both planning and execution, the team considered our budget and made significant compromises to stay within that budget. Even as plans shifted mid-project, we were able to hew closely to the initial quoted price.Specifically, Id like to praise the construction manager Luis. He managed subcontractors well, communicated via text responsively, and delivered high quality construction work. Luis showed competence and ingenuity while working through the few issues that arose during the project.I highly recommend Small House Solutions for your renovation project.

    I wanted to build a small house on a lot that I owned but builders that I had contacted told me either my budget didnt meet their minimum threshold or that they were not building in Austin because of the complicated building permit requirements. I ended up contacting Small House Solutions and was happy that I did. From start to end, Jason, Eddie and Luis took care of everything and kept me updated with status. They were responsive to my inquiries. Despite the shortage of building supplies and workers, they built the house that I wanted within a reasonable time. The delay in the timeline was due to the City of Austin, not by Small House Solutions. When my work was busy and I couldnt focus my attention on details, their designer selected options from which I could pick, which made the process easier for me. Because of their professionalism and handling, I had no stress during the project. The end result was amazing.

    Jason and Eddie did a great job building an 1100 square foot custom house for us near airport Blvd in Austin. Jason created drawings and plans for us which saved the expense of using an architect. He also knows how to get it done with the City of Austin - he took care of everything. We are really happy with the style and quality of the house and everything was carried out according to the original contract and budget. We will likely build additional houses in the future and we plan to use Small House Solutions!

    My husband and I worked with Small House Solutions to design and build an Accessory Dwelling Unit for my dad and a small office for me in our backyard, and its perfect. The thoughtful design and cozy size allowed us to help my dad live independantly and close to us, which in turn made all of our lives better. My little office is just the right size for WFH, and allows me to be efficient and frees up our kitchen table. Not only is the design great for our needs, but our little ADU is solidly built. In a recent hailstorm, our 60-year old houses siding took a beating, but the ADUs Hardie Plank looks brand new. We highly recommend Jason and his crew for good, creative, and responsive designs and excellent construction.

Always paid attention to what we were looking for and it was a great experience to co-design our ADU and garage apartment.     I think what makes a business stand out in this day and age is the integrity with which they function in light of mistakes. Jason and his team have been nothing short of outstanding not just when everything went well, but especially when things went wrong.We had plans to build a home using his company and deposited the first 5 figure payment. Due to zoning rules that were not obvious despite Jasons meticulousness, we were unable to build. Jason paid us back in full, PLUS INTEREST, through a combination of regular installments AND by completing the make ready on our main home (my job required us to move out of state).If given the opportunity to build again I would absolutely select small house solutions. Everyone on Jasons team, especially Eddie, works hard to deliver quality work - and they go the extra mile!
