Gorgeous property in the heart of town in the West Village. Walking distance from trendy restaurants, shops and parks. Huge secured and gated parking is a big plus for only an extra $25. Updated apartments , clean air-conditioned hallways and the office staff are ready to help at the drop of a smile. Big plus , highly recommend taking a look šŸ‘ŒTIP: double panned windows lets in morning and evening light without the extra cost of high A/C bills and mutes the everyday cityscape soundtrack for a quiet comfortable luxury living experience.

Giving The Monterey by Windsor Apartments 5 stars.Resigned and going into my second year here at this prime property. Besides the luxury of being nestled in Dallas uptown you have the convenience of hitting all the prime entertainment spots. The Monterey staff have been wonderful to work with. I have to give a special thanks to Garret on the management team. He is always quick to reply to any questions and concerns to ensure that any issues are resolved. I would also like to give thanks to Abraham who within 10 minute of me reporting AC trouble was at my door to help in resolving the issue quickly. I would also like to thank Roman who while helping me with one reported issue, kindly stayed to address and resolve other requests I needed. The Monterey is a quiet and clean community. Very animal friendly and I love the social parties that the management staff puts on to engage their clients. There are a number of luxury apartments in the DFW area to choose from but itā€™s the personable relationships you have with the management team and staff that keep their clients staying. Keep up the great work Monterey team!

Ive lived here since May 2023 and have had nothing but positive experiences. Maintenance requests taken care of quickly, friendly neighbors, fantastic amenities and helpful staff in the leasing office. Most recently, I was scheduled to move out after buying my first home. When the deal fell through, I panicked thinking Id not have a place to live. I spoke to Garrett who quickly eased my mind and provided the perfect solution.Highly recommend this community to anyone currently looking!

  • Review 4 (2021-04-13 - Rating: 5)

Initially, I was apprehensive about the Monterey after reading some reviews and touring other more ā€œglitzyā€ buildings. However, The Monterey has turned out to be the best apartment Iā€™ve lived in and I just signed for another year. This review may sound overly positive but the staff has been amazing in creating a great community. Overall I highly recommend this apartmentService 10/10:The differentiating factor at this apartment is the customer service. Enough good things canā€™t be said about Jenna, Brea, Chassity, and the entire team. They actually get to know you and instead of hiding from problems continuously ask if thereā€™s anything they can help with. The building maintenance team is in-house (not contracted out). Ā Any requests from my loose toilet seat, leaking air conditioner, dead lightbulb, was fixed the same day.Amenities 8/10:This was a huge factor in deciding on an apartment. This is one of the only buildings that has a year-round hot tub for colder winter days, an awesome resort pool, and a great gym (with peloton bikes ā€“ they pay the membership too). The building has constantly been upgrading common spaces since Iā€™ve been here (new gym last summer, new hallway carpet last fall, changed paint scheme throughout the building, now renovating the courtyard). Additionally, everything is well maintained, there are always housekeepers cleaning the amenities. Iā€™m hoping they can add some more pool chairs and maybe some hammocks in the courtyard.Apartment 9/10:The apartment Layouts are awesome, not the traditional rectangular box. Large balconies and separate tub/showers. You will find high-rise buildings, or apartments with newer finishes ā€“ but you wonā€™t get this amount of space for your $$$.Community 10/10:Iā€™ve met some of my best friends in Dallas in this building. Overall itā€™s a younger, but professional crowd 20-40y/o. The pools busy in the summer and people are friendly.Parking 7/10:At $25, Parking is the lowest in the West Village area. Iā€™ve never had trouble finding a spot. Some neighbors have had cars broken into but I think this happens at any apartment complex. The building also has the most guest parking spots along the back which is a huge plus for visitors.Fees 8/10:Overall they are lower than most buildings. Wish we werenā€™t stuck with AT&T as the only provider for Internet -- they take advantage of this ($65-75). Theres no mandatory monthly $30 Luxor package or $25 valet trash fee. They do charge a unique $25 monthly amenity fee.Location 8/10:In West Village, a new trendy area of uptown. Plenty of restaurants, bars, and even a trolley that takes you around. Really nice tennis courts are right across the street. Easy access to the highway. Initially I wanted to live on the Katy Trail ā€” about four blocks away, but couldnt find a comparable building at this price.

Hector (new maintenance manager) and Ben did a really great job today. I had been waiting over a year to get my fridge light replaced. As soon as I mentioned to Hector yesterday, it was replaced today along with the filters I had been asking about...

For starters - I have lived in soooo many apartments (thanks to the military moving lifestyle) and feel like Ive got a pretty good idea of what to compare my experience with. I moved into the Monterey in Nov. of 2022 and to be honest, probably toured every single apartment in Dallas to try finding the right one. For me, you canā€™t beat the West Village location and the biggest decising factor on the Monterey was how dog friendly of a community it was. We often joked with other residents that you had to have a dog to fit in (you donā€™t, but I promise it will make your life so much better).I could write an entire 5 star review on just the maintenance crew alone and to be perfectly candid if they had left before my lease ended I wouldnā€™t have thought twice about looking elsewhere - not because things were bad but because they were just that great that you wanted to follow them. Alfredo (shout out to Alfredo, I hope Windsor knows the star employee they have and how much he brightens literally anybodys day) would be out working on holidays and always have a smile on his face. He was cleaning the dog parks on Christmas and when I asked why heā€™s working a holiday he said ā€œI live here and want to keep it clean, it doesnā€™t matter what day it isā€ and THAT to me makes all the difference in where you live. Having a crew that lives on site means the every day problems that impact the residents also impact them and they do what they can to avoid that when possible. During my time here, the elevator would go down on occassion but there are countless others nearby to use so it was ever an issue. Package theft was occasionally an issue from non-residents and for a while I donā€™t think the issue was taken too seriously, but I know they recently contracted with a security company to crack down on those issues. I never saw so much as an ant in my unit my entire time living here. Other reviews mention that itā€™s hard to get in touch with staff when you call, and I can say Iā€™ve had my troubles trying to call but any time I emailed instead I received a response within minutes. Garrett especially was super quick to get back to me and incredibly patient when I wanted to tour or ask questions about different floor plans when my renewal time came because I truly did not want to move. Ultimately I found a place up the road with more natural light than I had and much more updated, but if the Monterey made a few updates I would 100% consider moving back in the future. I had an overall positive experience while living here and genuinely donā€™t have anything negative to say based on my experince. Public reviews can be tricky because a good majority of negative reviews are left by tenants who were charged additional fees which almost always had a reason to justify it as listed in their lease, so I think its important to keep that in mind when reading reviews for any location, not just this one. Being so close to Cole park and having a tree-lined side drive is so peaceful and nice to be close to one of the only green spaces in the area. Beautiful in the fall! If youā€™re considering this community, take a tour and ask all the right questions. It might not be for everybody but itā€™s one of the better communities Iā€™ve lived in throughout my time!

  • Review 7 (2024-10-30 - Rating: 5)

Benjamin and Hector were really helpful and fixed my issues promptly! Great service satisfaction. Iā€™d recommend the Monterey to anyone! They stand on business!

  • Review 8 (2023-08-04 - Rating: 5)

Been here for 5 months and I feel like I found the best apartment ever. I especially love the location, floorplan, & dog parks. The only problems Ive had were my keys & dishwasher not working when I first moved in but they fixed those immediately. I dont mind that the building is a little older, its well maintained compared to others. The dishwasher & washer/dryer are loud but I dont mind. So far my neighbors are quiet and everyone that lives here is extremely friendly, especially the other dog owners.

Stephanie was an amazing leasing agent. She was always super warm and personable throughout the process. When it came to moving day, it happened to be on a Sunday, which is when they open at 1. Movers came at 9AM. They made arrangementsā€”within reason, of courseā€”for us to get our keys the day before. Alwaysā€”super helpful.Probably the only blip in the move in process was confusion over whether certain documents were signed or if payment was received, but Stephanie was quick to acknowledge and made it as smooth a process as moving possibly can be.The apartment itself: we face 75 in a corner apartment by the dog park. Itā€™s surprisingly quiet, though some sound does get through. Appliances may not be the most updated, but they work well enough. But the layout is hard to beat. I have a 2BR and den in the middle of uptown. It is spacious, has a lovely charm, and it feels like a HOMEā€”a lot of these new high rises have floor plans that looks like a glorified dorm roomā€¦ not at the Monterey!Amenities are beautiful, updated, and lovely. Iā€™ve heard whispers of some break in issues, but the garage feels safe my first week here. I love that I donā€™t have to have to use an unreliable fob to get inā€” all I need is my toll tag.The neighborhood is wonderful. So close to so many different placesā€”the west village shops, the Katy trail, Cole Parkā€¦ and if you have a teenager, the high school is across the street. Iā€™m childless, but itā€™s an incredible convenience for those who do.The Monterey definitely should be on your short list of apartments to move into. Iā€™m so glad to have made it my home.

  • Review 10 (2020-07-06 - Rating: 5)

Once you look past the fact that you simply will have to pay a bit more to live in Uptown, you will see that Monterey gives you a great deal. Its a great location but costs less than the surrounding apartment complexes. Yet, you still have all the amenities, a courtesy officer, security measures in place, ample parking in the garage, and updated features. Your experience may also differ depending on what part of the building you choose. With a view of the pool, you may hear more noise, but if there is noise, you can always call and say something. The courtyard view is really peaceful. It seems like the building is built well; I dont hear my neighbors. Even the carpet cleaning machine in the hallways is muffled by the quality doors/walls. The area is super safe and friendly. Dogs everywhere and it seems like people generally clean up after their dogs. You can also walk right to the West Village Katy Trail access point. Overall, if you are looking to live in Uptown, this apartment will provide everything you need and the cost makes more sense than the surrounding apartments.

  • Review 11 (2021-07-14 - Rating: 5)

Moving in to the Monterey has been a great experience! The staff at the leasing office is very friendly and helpful. The renovations done on the apartments give it a nice updated feel. The amenities are good- nice gym with pelotons, washer and dryer included, great pool area, etc. I appreciate how quiet the apartment is compared to many others. The parking garage is well maintained and safe. Being walking distance from so many restaurants is definitely a perk.

  • Review 12 (2021-07-12 - Rating: 4)

Ive lived at the Monterey since 2018. Ive absolutely loved the experience, the apartments are well made and spacious. Ultimately its the staff and the maintenance team that show that The Monterey is above the rest- they are respectful and timely. All requests taken care of within 24 hours and renewing my lease has always been a breeze year after year. The hot tub is great, the two dog parks even better. Overall, this is a gem of a community and I have few complaints from my time here. I would absolutely continue living here if I could! The only possible issues Ive had here are related to the elevator breaking down quite a few times, along with one of the garage gates. Also, if you face the highway, the traffic can be loud.

  • Review 13 (2021-11-28 - Rating: 5)

I am blown away by my experience at The Monterey. I signed my lease from out of state, and from the start, the leasing staff has been fantastic. The building feels very secure, well maintained, and beautiful. They have done updates to my unit & its great. The units are spacious, I never hear my neighbors & the lighting is great for my remote job. This building has good bones & not paper thin walls like newer apartments. The location CANT BE BEAT! Walking distance to Katy Trail, restaurants & a park across the street. Parking is never an issue & receiving packages is easy. If youre on the fence, do it! You wont regret this.

  • Review 14 (2021-08-26 - Rating: 4)

I just left the Monterey after living there for 2.5 years and I would definitely recommend this apartment community to a friend! Some of the highlights of my experience include that the pool is a great and fun community area, but quiet during the evenings and nights - so it was never too loud. Theres also a hot tub! Which is unique to the Monterey compared to friends apartments. The gym also is pretty spacious with a ton of great equipment, including 2 Peloton bikes. The office staff are always friendly and accommodating (especially Garrett and Jenna who most often replied to our emails to help!). They are also always very quick to fix maintenance requests. The only cons are problems that I think every big apartment community in Dallas has, but are frustrating nonetheless - sometimes the garage gate is broken without a fix for a long time, the main door lock doesnt always work (and its been a continuous issue), there is bike theft in the locked bike room, and issues of the like.Overall, its obvious the Monterey/Windsor put a lot of love into their communities. Well miss it!

  • Review 15 (2024-02-01 - Rating: 5)

Great location and even better walkability. Shops/restaurants around and Easy access to Katy Trail which is nice. Very secure and feel safe even walking at night. Lots of people dog walking/out and about. Staff is responsive and keeps residents in loop. Commons areas are always clean and well kept

  • Review 16 (2023-07-07 - Rating: 5)

I have lived at the Monterey for a little over 2 1/2 years. I just renewed for my 3rd time. My first time was with Jameson and he was amazing and so helpful. Second time was with someone else who was not as nice or helpful. 3rd and most recent time was back with Jameson and he was wonderful. He worked with me to find a rate that would allow me to stay in my unit and not have to look at moving. Every time I have needed something and he answers the phone or is in the office I always feel a sigh of relief because I know he will be friendly, kind, and get the job done!

  • Review 17 (2023-06-11 - Rating: 5)

My favorite apartment Iā€™ve ever lived in. Great experience with the leasing office employees, maintenance was super quick with any issues, never waited more than 2 hours for them to come fix anything such as a clogged drain, low water pressure in shower head, which were all minor things that were fixed immediately.Personally, never really had a major issuesjust an occasional inconvenience if one of the garage doors was broken and left open and obviously that brings in security issues but nothing major happened during my time here.

  • Review 18 (2020-08-29 - Rating: 5)

I cannot say enough good things about the Monterey!First, Edgar from the maintenance team is absolutely incredible. Maintenance is always so quick to respond to any issues and genuinely cares about solving the problem.Next, the property is always extremely clean - they have a cleaning staff that vacuums and cleans each floor what feels like at least 3x a week. Finally, this is a great, safe place to live and as I drive around Dallas and see other apartments, I cant imagine myself living anywhere other than the Monterey.

  • Review 19 (2021-04-14 - Rating: 5)

The Monterey by Windsor is hands down the best apartment community I have ever lived in. It truly is a community. About 7 months ago when I leased, Jenna helped me find exactly what I needed and the team went above and beyond to make it possible to move into my ideal unit within my tight timeline before I started my job. I absolutely LOVE my unit. The space is incredible and great storage space as well! The maintenance staff is incredible! All maintenance requests have been tended to the same day, if not within the hour, and if needed there is always prompt follow-up.The amenities are well-kept and the Peloton bikes in the gym are great to have! I have a dog who loves running around at the dog park and peeking into the leasing office to say hi to her favorite people :) There are many updates currently taking place so it keeps getting better! I have a wonderful balcony that looks onto the pool / grill area and I love sitting out here and working during the day.In regard to the reviews that express concerns about security, I find that the location of The Monterey is optimal to mitigate issues of break-ins / other issues. Break-ins are inevitable in a city, but I feel safe walking to my car knowing that there is a High-School and Church across the street / next to the building that frequently have security visible from the Monterey parking lot.Overall, this is a wonderful place to live. As I mentioned in the beginning, it truly is a community. It made my move to Dallas, where I really didnt know many people, so much easier. In a sense, the staff feels like family. Their communication during the snow storm in February was wonderful and made me more comfortable knowing what was going on. Everyone is quick to respond if I have questions / concerns and very eager to help. I have met so many wonderful people here in this building over the past 7 months through fun events with great food and drinks, taking my dog to the dog park, and even just passing through the halls. The Monterey is a little oasis tucked away in West Village and I am looking forward to resigning here!

  • Review 20 (2021-05-11 - Rating: 5)

This is the best place to live in West Village. First, the apartment staff are simply incredible. Im especially grateful to Jenna and the Monterey staff, who worked diligently to keep me updated on apartment availability to find the exact one that matched our qualifications. As well, the maintenance team works quickly and efficiently - if you put in a request they are there within hours to assist. Second, the amenities are great with two pelotons + great gym, awesome pool, two garden areas and the spacious two floor garage is one of my favorite parts (who knew an apartment garage set up could bring you joy). Third, the location and apartment layouts are fantastic. The apartments have great storage and lots of space to spread out. The location is in the heart of West Village with access to a park, tennis courts, great restaurants and the Katy Trail. I couldnt recommend this place more!

  • Review 21 (2023-06-08 - Rating: 5)

I toured The Monterey Apartments and has really nice amenities. Nancy who tour me was super friendly and answered all my questions about the property and area. I met the other office staff who greeted me with a hello and smile coming back from the tour!I definitely have this property on the top of my list to live in.

  • Review 22 (2021-01-22 - Rating: 5)

Super happy that I made the move to Monterey! Excellent value for West Village, but more importantly, the staff, amenities and cleanliness cant be beat. Edgar and the maintenance team are always available and so helpful. Amenities like pool, dog park and even hot tub are well cared for and very up to date. The front office staff (Jenna, Chassitty, Brea and Jameson) always have a smile and are willing to help with anything. My loft apartment is very spacious - could go on an on, but you get the idea :)

  • Review 23 (2022-09-14 - Rating: 5)

The leasing office and maintenance staff here are absolutely amazing. I was struggling to set up a wifi box, and Stephanie from the front office and Alfredo with maintenance came to my room and helped me set it up at 5:30pm. They went completely out of their way (and extremely late in the day) to help me with something that isnt even a part of their job description or duties. They did this just to be kind and helpful humans. You wont find another apartment staff in Dallas that is this friendly and always willing to help.

  • Review 24 (2017-07-04 - Rating: 4)

Have enjoyed living here for a year. The package delivery system with the automated lockers is excellent. The building is very well maintained and they respond quickly to maintenance issues. The apartment was excellent and I was happy with the price for the area and the quality of the apartment. The one down side, and there reason I cant give five stars, is nose isolation. Like most modern apartment buildings there just isnt enough sounds insulation. This isnt a problem most of them time but hearing your neighbor above stomping around at five in the morning or the people on the other side of the wall having sex at three can be annoying.

  • Review 25 (2019-08-13 - Rating: 5)

Ive been renting for a while and lived in multiple cities but never before I was so delighted with leased property. The Monterey by Windsor is in its own class. My wife and I have been living in the Monterey by Windsor in Uptown Dallas for over three years and we didnt have a single day when we were not delighted by the property, the apartment, or the service. Literally, not even once. The quality and promptness of service is superior, the cleanness and the fresh smell of the building will catch you every morning, and leasing office team thinks service first. Its hard to make this happen every day, but they did it.Moreover, there are the unique physical characteristics of the Monterey that are hard (impossible) to find elsewhere else in Uptown, Dallas. You will be hard pressed to find apartments with double vanities or the 13 feet ceiling available on the 5th floor. The pool is the longest that I could find. Then comes the location. Walking distance to great restaurants and pubs, multiple coffee shops, a movie theater, hair salons for men and women, a couple of massage places, clothing, sports clubs (varying), and 700 meters from the Katy trail. The list goes on and Im already feeling a nudge.

  • Review 26 (2021-05-04 - Rating: 5)

I have moved around a lot, and The Monterey truly is a great place to live! A+ maintenance team who fix things in a timely manner. My 2-bedroom Apartment is spacious and beautiful with two walk-in closets and two full baths. In other cities, this is unheard-of. The leasing office was very accommodating during COVID and did a FaceTime tour of the apartment with me before I signed the lease. Everything is walkable here so I think my apartment was worth the price. One thing I will say is I was on the top floor so I never had any noise issues, but Iā€™ve heard from other residents that footsteps can be loud living on the lower floors. Also, my balcony wasnā€™t that great because itā€™s on the side that the Church is on and 1. Pigeons constantly poop on it and 2. The church has a strange, constant noise coming from its generator that is disturbing to me (I am more sensitive than average to sounds, though, so maybe others wouldnā€™t be bothered). The ceilings on the top floor are very tall! Higher than lower floors. I loved my island kitchen and storage space on top of kitchen cabinets. My place was only 1114 square feet, a Santa Cruz model, but it felt much larger. During COVID I got a really great rate on my year lease. I will say when I went to renew the lease, the rent did go up like 6% so that was pretty high. But i still loved living in this building. My living room had a lot of natural light. For parents of young kids, there is a pre-school right next door and a park just down the street! I will miss living here. Never had any issues at all. Parking was great, Luxer locker package delivery was great, Jenna was very accommodating when it came time to move out, and they have storage spaces you can rent for $50-$150 a month. I Highly recommend living at The Monterey by Windsor! Especially the top floor.

  • Review 27 (2021-04-06 - Rating: 5)

Cant say enough positive things about the Monterey. Due to the Dallas storms we had nowhere to go last minute after months of searching for our dream spot. Jenna had us touring within an hour of calling (she showed us every layout on property she thought we might like). Which led us to our dream loft. The stars could not have aligned more on the space and location. I have never been happier in an apartment, honestly it feels like a house. The people are friendly, the dogs are cute, and the area has max walkability.Fast forward to meeting Chasity and Bri, rockstar agents. They are super responsive and helpful with ANYTHING you need, even above the call of duty. In fact, everyone weve worked with thus far in the office has been fantastic.Maintenance is so prompt and helpful. Ive never seen work orders turned around so fast or more professionalism in a maintenance. I have no complaints, thank you for ALL you do Monterey team!

  • Review 28 (2021-08-25 - Rating: 5)

Iā€™ve lived here for a few weeks and so far I really enjoy it. My experience with most of the office staff has been kind of meh however the property manager Jenna has been outstanding. I was concerned about living right next to a high school but honestly I am in the office before they start and home after students have left so I havenā€™t had anything negative experience with that but I would imagine traffic could get a bit tricky during school start and stop times. The only thing I hope the property addresses is that multiple doors controlled access donā€™t work so you can enter without a fob and LOTs of stains on the interior hallway carpet making it pretty gross looking. If looking for a new rental you canā€™t go wrong here itā€™s close to plenty of things to walk to and my interactions with other residents have been great there are some really awesome people here.

  • Review 29 (2020-08-29 - Rating: 5)

Iā€™ve lived at the Monterey for years and have had such a great experience overall. Great location and they keep it up well. The people are what make it stand out to me though, specifically Edgar the maintenance man. I completely trust him which is so important. He is an absolute sweetheart with a great demeanor and I feel totally comfortable with him in my home! He also just truly cares and does such a good job with any maintenance requests and in a timely fashion. People like Edgar are what sets communities apart from the rest.

  • Review 30 (2020-12-10 - Rating: 5)

I love it here! The location is safe and within walking distance to plenty of shops & restaurants in West Village/Uptown. The common areas are always clean, and the style/deco of the complex (inside & out) is beautiful. The leasing office and maintenance team go above and beyond to make sure youā€™re taken care of. They also host a variety of community events, which is a great way to meet your neighbors and feel more at home.

  • Review 31 (2021-10-16 - Rating: 5)

Updated review - Oct 2021This is my 4th year in Monterey and after seeing a few community managers here come and go, I am pleased to update my review.Jenna is a fantastic community manager and makes sure she is on top of every request her residents put in front of her. She is not shy of getting her hands dirty and when asked for help, she is more than happy to lean in and do whatever she can.She has passed on the same virtues to her team and I am really glad to see her taking care of this community.Another special shout out for Edgar who is beyond amazing when it comes to maintenance requests. He is friendly, always willing to help and more importantly happy to go above and beyond. We have a newborn and he will also ensure that he helps me with my packages or anything I might need if he sees me around. Thanks team for the great living experience here!Updated review - July 2020After having lived here for two years, I would say the quality of service here has severely declined... here are some of the issues that support my review:1. In the last few weeks, the elevator and stairs access points randomly stop working. Besides one helpful leasing staff member, most will give you an answer we cant help you... this is a part of a broader systems update. This answer is not acceptable when (1) the issue has persisted for weeks and (2) the staff makes no attempt at problem solving. I had to reach out to another staff member and suggest switching out FOBs if that would work.On asking why a community wide email communication was not sent out, their response is we will provide that recommendation to our supervisor2. The residents here have a terrible etiquette when it comes to picking after their dog... 9/10 times when you walk by the dog part, you will dog waste all around, so much so you think you are almost walking in a dog poop landmine... the maintenance does clean it periodically but the management isnt putting any measures in place to hold people responsible for not cleaning after their pet.3. Most of their current staff is quite rude and arrogant... They will tell you that they will follow-up by a certain timeline and when you check on that past the deadline, their response will be I am a very busy person... almost making you think that you are not busy individuals with full-time jobs. It is extremely disappointing and unexpected for a leasing office staff member to say they are so busy that they dont have time to respond back to a residents concern when they promised to do so.If it was not for COVID, I would have definitely moved out but wanted to avoid the hassle given the current times. Will definitely be moving out before the next renewal.I do however want to applaud their maintenance crew - they have the opposite posture and attitude as compared to the leasing office staff (barring one gentleman - not going to mention names for privacy reasons). Edgar is a fine gentleman who is extremely sincere, sweet and always ready to help out with a persistent smile on his face. Kudos to him!(Previous review - August 2018)I have been living at Monterey for about 2 months now and I have had an amazing experience here. Everything from leasing staff to maintenance and cleanliness has been top notch - my husband and I could not have been happier. Abigail (the property manager), Kristen, William and Gaby are all great and take it upon themselves to really help you out (whether apartment related or not) in whichever capacity they can. The location is great too and I can walk pretty much everywhere for almost everything - nails, primary care doctor, gym or my bank. The apartment layouts are amazing too and you get a good value for your money.

  • Review 33 (2020-03-31 - Rating: 5)

Although there is NO cell service whatsoever in this building I still enjoyed my time spent here. One of the things that made my time enjoyable was Edgar and the maintenance crew. Always accommodating and quick to help whenever I ran into a problem. They do a fantastic job! Veronica and her partner do a great job keeping my floor and surrounding areas clean as well. They get 5 stars from me.

I have been living at the Monterey for almost a year and I wish to leave a review because the staff is very kind and professional. I had a link once and they came right away to fix it. The pool is not very big but the amenities are nice and above all the atmosphere here is very friendly. My husband and I are enjoying living here. I guess other places are nice too but it would not be fair not to tell when we are pleased.

Iā€™ve lived here for 2 1/2 years and have been pretty happy overall.Pros:-maintenance/leasing office is super responsive-huge dog run-fairly quiet (I hear my upstairs neighbor but not the ones on either side)-friendly residents (especially those of us who own dogs)Cons:-dog run (and other outdoor parts of property) are often riddled with dog poop, sometimes for days. I know the staff sees it since they change the trash bags, but itā€™s clearly ignored-package delivery - when the lockers work, itā€™s great (although I do miss when they would bring packages directly to your door). But often times the lockers jam, or your package is in the leasing office, which obviously canā€™t be accessed 24/7-elevators are incredibly slow (only 4 for a building of ~500 residents). Even worse on the weekends when 2 of 4 are being used for movingOverall Iā€™m happy enough that Iā€™ll be staying for the foreseeable future (and because moving is a pain). Itā€™s not perfect, but then again nowhere is

The Uptown location is one of the Monterey Uptowns best features. The apartments take full advantage of their West Village location in every way, without sacrificing comfort for proximity, I might add. Living near the West Village is very desirable for young professionals, but it gets seriously crowded, especially at night. Uptown residents, tourists, college students, and Dallas residents of all ages enjoy the West Village each night. So, although living near the West Village is great, there can be such a thing as too close for comfort. The Monterey gets around this problem nicely by being located a 5 minutes walk from the West Village, instead of right next door. They are happily situated beside the vibrant Cole Park -- the only park in Uptown and the only public place to play free tennis here! Cole Park also has basketball courts, spacious green fields for picnics or walking a dog. If you are the kind of person who needs a little nature in your urban life, this park is terrific. On the other side is a small school that initially caused me some noise concern. The school lets out at 3, so the school is empty and noiseless by 3:30.When I looked at the floor plans, the one bedrooms were a perfect selection I felt. They start with a studio apartment that actually looks much bigger than it is due to an exceptional design. They went all the way up to a gorgeous one bed with a study. This particular plan with the study would allow for a perfect spot for overnight relatives, friends etc., and would be easy to convert back to an officeā€¦and the price was right! The 2 bedrooms, however, were a bit inconsistentā€¦let me explain. If you are looking to be with a roommate, and you both want equal space bedrooms, then only one of the 2 bedroom floor plans has similar size bedrooms. (The starting 2 bedroom actually was the lowest square foot plan and this was the one that was the perfect roommate plan.) Other larger plans sometimes differed enough in bedroom sizes to be noticeable. Also, occasional design glitches popped up, like the oddly shaped section of the living room in one of the larger 2 bedroom plans.Another thing I love about the Monterey is the parking and related convenience. First of all, because it is a mid-rise with an attached garage, you enter this Uptown apartment through the garage, which is secured by a parking monitor device (toll tag) on your car. You can also enter the apartment through the leasing office if you have a key fob, but those are the only ways. An unwanted neighbor canā€™t (easily) enter. The parking also allows you to drive all the way up to your floor, which obviously convenient. For additional information, please review my further thoughts at Uptown101 .

Iā€™ve loved living here. Just renewed to live an additional year. Amentities are great, common areas are always clean, maintenance responds quickly, great apartment events. Only complaint is that walls are thin but I think youā€™ll find that at any apartment in the city. Iā€™ve never heard neighbors above me but Iā€™ve heard my next door neighbors. Nothing crazy and something Iā€™m definitelg willing to deal with. Everyone is nice. I would definitely recommend living here

Loved the tour I got from Eddy - by far the most personable and professional leasing agent Iā€™ve met in touring 20+ apartments the past week in Dallas. She took me as a walk-in and cheerfully stayed after the tour to answer all my questions. Sheā€™s the kind of woman I could be fast friends with she makes you feel that much at home :)

A great complex with a perfect location and the absolute best maintenance staff. Edgar is the go-to maintenace guy! He really goes beyond the norm in taking care of your needs and the type of guy I can depend on, not to mention super friendly. He will spot things in my apt that need to be fixed or changed that I didnt even notice and its just a testament to how much he cares about his work and the people who live here! Awesome job and wonderful place to call home.

We really liked living in the Monterey. Great location and convenient (walking distance) access to shops, restaurants and parks. The maintenance and cleaning crew were very professional and responsive, specially Ms. Veronica.

Living here was the best decision my wife and I made. We moved to Dallas to have a city vibe and the area where the apartment is located reminds us of living in NYC without the craziness. We love living here and will for sure do another lease term.

Lived here for a year and really enjoyed it. Great location on the north side of West Village -- close to everything, yet in a quieter and safer-feeling area than Uptown. Staff very attentive and friendly, quick to get maintenance requests worked and always available to answer any questions. Highly recommend living here!

I live at another Windsor property, Windsor West Lemmon, and Jenna is a staff member at the Monterey near West Village who I had the opportunity to meet while I was collecting packages from my mailbox. I am a teacher and was collecting a bunch of packages for my classroom when I met Jenna. Even though she works at the Monterey and lives in a completely different Windsor community, Jenna graciously helped me locate all 11 of my packages in the large package depot at West Lemmon. She also helped me bring them to my car! Clearly wonderful service from Jenna and other Windsor staff!

I really like living here. It is close to everything. They are always updating things to keep the property nice. The office staff is very helpful and friendly.

  • Review 57 (2020-02-22 - Rating: 4)

I never lived here but would visit family often and always found this place to be nice. The location is the one thing I wouldnā€™t sell to anyone who asked me about it. Youā€™re surrounded by a few schools and a church so thereā€™s intermittent traffic and school zones you have to deal with constantly.

  • Review 58 (2016-01-19 - Rating: 5)
