    The Santal has been a great place to live. I love the location and its easy access to walking trails. Its a quiet and peaceful complex. Its very dog friendly with so much nature around and yards attached to some of the units. Very convenient to get to anywhere you need to go in the city. The maintenance team is also great. They are always timely and quick to address any issues. I havent had any issues living here and would recommend them!

    I can say honestly say that living here has been a great experience. The community is well-kept, and the management team is always friendly and responsive. Any time Iā€™ve had a maintenance request, itā€™s been taken care of quickly, which really gives me peace of mind.One of my favorite things is how quiet and welcoming it feelsā€”neighbors are respectful, and thereā€™s a real sense of community. The amenities are a nice bonus, but what really stands out is how comfortable it is to live here. Plus, the location is amazing. Hill country vibe but 20 minutes from downtown.I would definitely recommend.

    The Santal is an Oasis! Amazing amenities, nature, and relaxation. The build quality is perfect! Great location and perfect for an active lifestyle! There is a whole network of trails just across the road. Lantana hills plaza is a nice walkable distance as well! The management staff has been very attentive and friendly. Maintenance has also been very responsive and helpful!I highly recommend this property to anyone looking on SW parkway!

    We moved in May 2024, and everything has been wonderful! Reagan was amazing, helping us all the way through the process from our first (and second, and thirdā€¦) tour of the apartments to moving and settling in. Any maintenance requests have been addressed quickly, Reagan and Victoria in the office always kind and lovely, and amenities are always clean and maintained.

    My wife and I moved in a month ago. The property is beautiful, and the location is fantastic. The staff are amazing and helped us with an issue we had in our apartment. We canā€™t wait to use the beautiful pools in the summer! The quality of this community deserves 10 stars !!

    My husband and I moved here in April 2023, and weā€™ve absolutely loved every part of living at this community! The maintenance is quick and helpful, the office staff is kind and on top of things. They are easy to communicate with, the community is in the perfect location feeling both secluded yet is close to everything! Itā€™s a super friendly pet community with a nice dog park, walking trails and also has nice amenities! Pool and community areas are always clean and kept. We hope to be here for as long as possible! Couldnā€™t recommend these apartments more, and If you get the right unit, the views of the hill country are unbeatable!

    I dont usually take the time to post reviews, but my experience with the management team and as a resident since I moved in in mid-November 2017 has been nothing but amazing. I relocated to Austin from Miami for work with all of the stress that that entails and being able to come home to such a beautiful apartment has made all the difference. Location was extremely important for me in my search for a new home, amenities and high end finishes matter as well as a competent, helpful and attentive management team. This place more than checks all of those boxes and, in my opinion (and I looked at EVERYTHING) you will not find a better place to call home than the Santal. I dont care how gorgeous and luxurious a property is, it is the human factor that makes all of the difference, so thank you to Patricia, Michael and Jennifer for being so awesome and for making this transition to a new city so much easier for me.Chad Moreau

    My husband and I would strongly recommend The Santal for your next home stop, it is by far the best community we have ever lived!We move often in accordance to my husband Engineering jobs and have experienced some disappointment in apartments.- Staff - Is EXCELLENT! The property management and maintenance team are very responsive and helpful. The service request and or question are always responded to in a timely manner.Pros:- Great location - for AMD, NXP, Intel, with a 12 min ride to Zilker Park and Barton Skyway which feeds into the greenbelt as well as complete access to Downtown.- The apartments are very big and bright the outside wall is all windows- Quiet - Ive never heard a neighborhood from inside my apt.- The commons areas, lobby, open door policy for the day room, amazing dog wash room and the dog park is the best we have ever seen, the grounds are always very clean/well- kept- Views, views, views are incredible with amazing trees all around !!- Garage upon availability, covered space both for a small fee each and apartment door trash pickup!- The building feels very safe and secure- 24 Hours Fitness that far exceeds ones expictations

    Huge shoutout to Victoria!! She is an absolute gem and so incredibly kind and helpful. My client and I walked in at 4pm without a scheduled appointment as we were already in the area. She greeted us with open arms and a smile. We ended up asking to see more units than we had originally anticipated, as there were lots of options available, and she was more than happy to accommodate! She was so engaging, friendly, and knowledgeable throughout the whole tour and made the whole experience a lot of fun. Canā€™t thank her enough for all of her help and being so great to work with. My client loved the property and units they had available, but it was our experience with Victoria that made my client feel so welcomed and at home there, and sheā€™s super excited to apply!     The Santal is the best apartment complex Ive lived in, hands down! Cant recommend it enough.I love living here. Its so beautiful, you dont even feel like youre that close to the city but you are. You can even see a nice view of the skyline if you walk to the end of the cul de sac. Thats what makes this location great for someone like me, who loves to be within spitting distance of the city but has no interest in living downtown.Two gyms, which have every machine that I need and are never too busy. Pools are incredible, especially the L shaped one by the Leasing Office. It feels like youre at a resort or spa. The apartments themselves are spacious, modern, and have a clean look without seeming like a museum. Still cozy. I live in a third floor unit and the vaulted ceilings make everything so bright. The views from my level are amazing as well.The trails behind the apartments are awesome, they feel so private and you get amazing views of West Austin.One thing to keep in mind: If you are afraid of insects, dont live here. I havent had any pest problems at all inside my apartment, btw, but its more just living near the Greenbelt and thats not on the Santal, its just par for the course for the area. Youll frequently see large insects like grasshoppers on windows or railings around the complex. I heard someone at the pool mention a tarantula that haunts the upper floor of their building. Ive almost stepped on baby scorpions on the sidewalks near the trails and of course going into the Greenbelt means youre likely to see other creepy crawlies as well. Theres also tons of lizards that live in the shrubbery around the parking lots but theyre cute and harmless. This is Texas, after all!The only con I really have is the parking situation. Its like going to war every time I want to park near my building, and its a 50/50 chance Ill get to park near my building every time I come home. There arent enough free spots for residents, theres way more covered parking and you cant park in those spots unless you pay extra. I get it, its a $$$ tactic but its hard enough to carry groceries up to the third floor without having to walk them across the parking lot to get to the building too, especially in the rain. My building only has 10 free spots and theres gotta be like 20-30 units in my building so...you do the math. Covered spots should be a luxury, not the standard.All in all though, great place to live and happy to call the Santal home.

    My roommate and I searched all over Austin (North, South, East and West) and couldnā€™t find anything that excited us and met our desires for moving. Then, we found beautiful Berkshire Santal and the amazingly helpful leasing agent, Reagan. She was so kind and patient through all of our questions, waffling with decisions and finally leasing. She is super knowledgeable and responsive and we are so grateful for her. We absolutely love our new apartment community and couldnā€™t be happier here!     I visited and toured The Santal Apartments and was pleasantly surprised at how helpful and professional Alicia and Reagan were in dealing with my questions, and their guidance around the grounds. I noticed right away how perfectly manicured the property is kept, and pleasant the staff is. Also, i brought my pup out and was happy to find that every other dog owner i crossed paths with followed the rules and kept their pup on a leash. Great management and a fantastic environment for me and my pup. I look forward to moving in! Thanks!

    It took me a long time to find a place like Santal. It is beautiful, quiet, safe with amazing views. The staff is so kind but especially Reagan. Reagan helped make my move very easy, from everything with paperwork to the actual move in date. My apartment was clean and ready to go when I arrived. She is the best so if you are thinking of moving here, make an appt. with Reagan! Also, the maintenance person Angel is the best. They are extremely responsive! Best place ever, so happy I found this team!

    Iā€™ve been at the Berkshire for a little over a month, and so far my roommate and I have had a great experience. Move in was super smooth, and our apartment was impeccably clean when getting the keys. The front office is always available to answer any questions. The complex is always very clean and full of respectful, nice neighbors. I also want to give a major shoutout to the maintenance team here. Maintenance requests are always taken care of within HOURS of placing the request, and each maintenance person has been super nice and helpful. I love this place! I always feel safe and happy.

    This is a fabulous place if you want trails to walk, a dog park, great neighbors and fabulous apartment staff! The office staff address your needs immediately and the maintenance crew respond withing 48 hours for most routine maintenance issues. The new owners have completed some remarkable updates to the complex. If you want location it is close to all of your needs. I highly recommend this home community!

    Ive lived here 4 years. Recently, I decided to downsize. The process; from getting information about a transfer to the actual move in; was easy & efficient. The office staff responded immediately with information, tours and the approval process; which enabled me to lock in the apartment I wanted quickly & stress free. The office staff: Kena; Shanitra; Regan & Alicia all work as a team; they are assessable, helpful & have a quick response time. I appreciate them listening to my needs & helping me find the perfect apartment. Maintenance responded within 24 hours with the few minor items that needed attention after moving in. Angel & Carlos are excellent, are pleasant, helpful & knowledgable.I recommend Berkshire Santal & have seen huge improvements since Berkshire took over the property over a year ago. The upgrades; maintenance to the property & improving security are a few examples to the attention to detail Ive seen since they took over. You can tell they really care about the property & residents.

    I love living here! We moved in to the santal in may of 2019 and itā€™s been a great experience living here. Our first summer the thermostat broke and the maintenance staff fixed it really quickly. The apartments itself are really nice, spacious, and comfortable. The pool, gym, dog park, and other facilities are really nicely well maintained as well. Like most apartments, it was probably constructed on the cheap and there are some small flaws. But thatā€™s the reality of renting!I was really nervous about spiders/cockroaches/other critters when moving to Texas but Iā€™ve never seen more than a tiny spider around here. I love the proximity to downtown/south Austin districts, but the complex itself is so peaceful and surrounded by nature. There are some trails nearby that are fun to explore. This is the best apartment complex I have ever lived in and Iā€™d recommend it to anyone.

    I havent been at the Santal for long, but everything so far has been an amazing experience. Melanie could not have been more helpful with the leasing and move-in process. I leased the apartment sight unseen which is always a gamble but I could not be happier. The apartment is great, I have had no issues but what truly makes this place amazing is the property and the amenities. I love how spacious the property is and how much grass there is all across the buildings (yay if you have pups), the gym and pool are seriously the best Ive seen at a complex and I have yet to see them packed which is usually the case when theyre so nice. All in all I have no complaints (yet), this truly has been great and Id recommend The Santal to anyone looking for a new home.

    My wife and I have lived in other communities in the the Austin area, Dallas area and outside of the state. My expectations have always been high for the places we have chosen. So for those of you looking in the Austin area with those same expectations, STOP at the Santal. You donā€™t need to look anywhere else. From our first visit and tour everything has been professional, friendly and courteous. We worked with Patricia and Michael on choosing the right apartment and floor plan. They both were patient with us and finding the perfect place. Since moving in, any questions, concerns or maintenance requests have always been handled quick and efficiently. We have only been here one month but have enjoyed every minute of our new place. Beautiful interiors, great views, and well maintained. Plus, we are close to downtown, the mall, grocery shopping and more. Ownership has a great management team and property. Thank you again to all of the management team again including Valerie. We plan to make The Santal our home for a while.

    After living downtown for the last five years, I was ready for a change. I sold my condo and began to look for greener pastures [quite literally ā€” I missed trees!] I wasnt ready to buy again so soon, so I began my search for a new apartment. Ive been out of the apartment hunting game for quite some time and fully expected your typical hang-ups and run-of-the-mill issues. This was absolutely NOT the case with The Santal. From start to finish, the entire Santal staff exceeded my expectations; all parties involved were incredibly friendly and accommodating.I worked closest with Reagan Finley, one of their leasing associates, and if I could give her 10-stars, Id probably renegotiate and ask to give her 11. Reagan was very responsive and communicative and was always readily available to answer my questions.I should clarify that I conducted most of my housing search from out-of-state [due to extenuating circumstances], but Reagan provided me with photos, videos, etc. and immediately made me feel at home ā€” even from 600 miles away! Reagan provided me with absolutely exemplary customer service. I was so impressed with her work ethic and attention to detail. In the end, it was the service that Reagan and the rest of the leasing staff provided me that led to my decision to move in to The Santal [over another property].Now that I am moved in, my initial excitement still remains. I am so happy with my decision. The complex itself is truly its own little oasis and you cant help but feel like youre part of a tight-knit community. The grounds are beautiful and well taken care of, and the maintenance crew has been just as friendly and helpful ā€” Charlie [from maintenance] addressed one of my requests in 30 minutes or less.I truly cannot say enough about The Santal. To my fellow Austinites still living in the concrete jungle and ready for a more relaxed change of pace and A LOT more green, I highly suggest you set your sights South and seek out a little slice of heaven in Hill Country. You wont regret it!

    My husband and I moved in here while we built a house. Our time here is ending and I wanted to share a bit about our experience. Neither of us have lived in an apartment for many years, but I have to say, our experience here has been great. Everyone has been pleasant and responsive. We have friendly neighbors for the most part and a lot of friendly - but not too friendly - dogs. Weā€™ve had good experiences with the Office staff and the maintenance staff. Maintenance showed up within 15 minutes to take care of our problem which was very much appreciated. We recommend Santal and would come back if the need ever arose!

    Review for the maintenance team: Carlos was fantastic! We put a work order in and he was to our apartment within 24 hours. My roommate and I both work from home and were in a crazy amount of meetings all day and Carlos went out of his was to come back when it was convenient for us! Top customer service.     I moved into the Santal last year and I havenā€™t lived in an apartment for over 35 years. It was a very smooth transition and I love the beauty and location of the property. Even though the management company has had alot of turnover recently, the current group seems excellent. Adrian is absolutely amazing. Every time I see him on the property he ALWAYS smiles and waves at me and stops to see how Iā€™m doing. He treats me like family. I hope he never leaves. So refreshing to have nice and caring people around me.

    After 23 years in a home we designed and built in Austin, we downsized with 2 of 3 kids in college. With one more in HS still, we knew an apartment was the right choice for a few years. It was a tough choice, but we could not be happier at the Santal. Comfortable, stylish living. Excellent amenities. Well maintained. Herculean efforts during an epic winter maelstrom of events. And, a terrific and friendly staff.

    We love recommending The Santal.Dog owners delight --theres a wonderful dog park on site and a lovely community of pups. The complex is sandwiched between a gorgeous, quiet hilly preserve to the west and a private longhorn ranch to the east. The tree-studded surroundings give home a resort feel.From #9304, and I suspect from the 3rd floor of a few other buildings, you get a pretty view of the city lights and the stars. You cant beat the perfect mix of town and country you find here.

    After a bad visit at The Pearl on South West Parkway, I was determined to see what Santal had to offer after passing by them for several months. I was told about the price being a little steep however Im about quality of living and Santal defiantly meets all my standards. My visit was great and can I just say thank you to the staff at Santal Apartments for making my leasing process so dang smooth. My new home is definitely worth every penny by far better then any apartment Ive lived in, top floor with vaulted ceilings, view of down town and greenery... My partner and I are 100% satisfied with the service Santal offers to its residents. No bad attitudes, over all great vibes during my entire visit love it :)Thank you again Kyle and Jennifer for your positive vibes and welcoming my little family to our new home with open arms the moment we walked in.

    I was a bit shocked with all the negative comments. I have lived here for 3 years plus and love the location, the apts, the residents are easy going, and have had no issues.I am writing here because I recently ran into two separate situations that are personal I can not go into detail about but Reagan and Shanitra were my Berkshire Saviors. I likely bugged Reagan way more than her boss but every time and with my stress level pretty high she championed us right through it.I also met with these same two ladies about a month ago when I decided to move to a new place and was turning in my notice. I needed one more 12 month lease before purchasing a place and just that one discussion made me want to stay. I cant explain it other than theyre just real people that are straight up with you no matter the situation and that really matters to me.Kudos to you both because you truly have no idea how much I appreciate you! The extra effort you both made for me certainly made it a no brainer to make sure your efforts were recognized. Thanks again!

    My wife and I chose The Santal for its location and amenities. It is located on an off street (Tacoma Cir), that means less noise and cars. Directly across from the apartment complex are trails that you can bike or hike, and in the winter water fills the stream below. Within a couple miles you have Moviehouse & Eatery, 313 Pizza, and SLAB BBQ. All great places.......The amenities we liked the most were the gyms, pools, dog park and garbage service. Out of all the complexes we visited, The Santal by far has the best gyms. The gym is well kept, equipment works great, and plenty of variety. The new gym includes a yoga studio and speed cycling bikes. The larger pool takes me back to Cabo.....You feel like your on vacation, and has a nice infinity pool looking over the bbq area. The dog park is a great place to meet other dog owners and allow your dog to roam free. I have had a few incidents where owners allowed unfriendly dogs into the park, in fact one specific person had a dog that attacked my dog, and she continued to bring her dog inside the park while my dog was there. I had to leave a few times, thinking it was unfair she didnt have common sense to keep her dog out. But overall we met a lot of great people and awesome dogs. Garbage service allows you to leave the can outside the door to get picked up by staff. It is a service you must pay, but well worth it.The apartment itself was also very nice. Our particular apartment had some scratches on the floors, and water damage near the fridge, but nothing I was concerned about. The 3rd floor apartments have the highest ceilings (15 plus feet) and the best views. All the appliances worked fantastic with no issues. We had the AC and water filter replaced a few times, which is standard maintenance.My only real complaint would be my neighbor and the stairwell. The stairwell can be loud if people are stomping up and down, and the doors can be loud from uncourteous people. I worked from home, and it was relatively quiet, except for the neighbors who constantly slam doors. This is nothing on The Santal, this is simply about people who do not consider others lifestyles.The staff was alway polite and tentative. Work orders were processed in a timely matter, and competed next day. Groundscrew did a great job at keeping the complex clean and safe......I feel bad sometimes they are stuck picking up dog poop left by inconsiderate owners.....But people will be people.Overall great experience and recommend The Santal. If I had one complaint about The Santal specifically it would be the lack of community events, but other than that it is a great place.

    Iā€™ve never had a landlord with such attentiveness as we have at the Santal! We currently lease a first floor unit with a yard. The yard was constantly having drainage problems and after bringing this to the landlordā€™s attention, they hired a landscape architect to completely regrade the yard, add French drains and re-sod it. Based on precious rental experiences I had expected them to say something like ā€œrain is just a part of life so itā€™s not our problemā€ but instead I was blown away by their attentiveness and desire for us to have a good experience. Highly recommend the santal!!

    We moved here in the interim while building our house. We were very impressed with the high quality finish outs. The design is gorgeous and unlike any other apartment or condo for that matter. Maintenance went out of their way to address an issue when we first moved in. Now that construction is coming to a close, its looking great.

    I donā€™t usually give reviews but I think this community compared to some of the ones Iā€™ve lived in is top tier! Itā€™s clean peaceful and the staff is super friendly! They make me feel warm and welcome every time I come into the the office! Not to mention the maintenance is on top of their stuff! Super quick turn around on any request that is put in. Definitely recommend Berkshire Santal! šŸ¤ŸšŸ¼

    I like living here because of my apartments buildout/features, the complexs location between downtown and the lake, our large dog park, and the trails nearby. It is exactly what I need at this time!Many reviews comment on the management team, which Id like to expound on as between my tour and signing/moving in, I worked with both the previous management company and Roscoe. To put it short, I cannot tell a difference between the two. Both teams put in as little effort as to get by. If youre expecting outstanding, then I question why youre in the leasing market to begin with. Still - Roscoes team responds promptly to service tickets and are trying to build a more social community! (please keep it up!)

    I just moved to the Austin area, and I love calling The Santal my home! Melissa, Valerie, and Michael in the leasing office are wonderful and very professional. These apartments are beautifully finished and the overall grounds are kept to make you feel like youā€™re on a permanent vacation!

    Valerie in the leasing office is wonderful! My husband & I were looking to stay in southwest Austin and couldnā€™t have found a better complex. The Santal has modern amenities, is dog friendly and has great customer service so far! Weā€™re looking forward to calling this place home.

    I have lived here for almost two months so far, and really love it! Its clean, well maintained and the staff is super helpful and responsive. The units are as they appear in the photos on their website and the amenities are really fantastic. I really dont think anyone can ask for more in an apartment complex. My two yorkies love it out here too... there are good sidewalks to take them for long walks and lots of (well behaved) dogs in the complex for them to play with.My only complaint (very small complaint... not a deal breaker) would have to be that the staff sold me on the fact that this community was rated one of the quietest complexes in the state of Texas (which was a HUGE selling point for me due to the last complex I lived in), but I dont believe thats entirely true. I can hear the water running through the plumbing in the middle of my apartment on a regular basis. ( I live on the ground level.) And, I can hear people walking in the unit above me very clearly. These are normal issues in an apartment, of course, but I just found it odd that they ensured me it would be an unusually quiet apartment complex and they went to extra measures during construction to make it super quiet, and it turns out its not much more quiet than any other complex Ive lived in. A plus in the quiet department though... the walls are thick. Ive never heard my neighbors next door and they have a large dog. So, if hes ever barked... Ive never heard it! (I hope they can say the same about my two barking machines!)Overall, I would definitely recommend this property to anyone looking to live out this way. Its really wonderful and I am thankful I moved in! I just want to make sure the apartment sets accurate expectation on the noise levels.

    We loved this apartment...!!! It was so calm, beautiful and always felt safe because they had security at night.     Although the front desk staff can be a little rude, I have to say the maintenance guys here are really good at what they do. Juan is very thorough, clean and careful. He has done several of my up keep issues and I feel comfortable with him and know he will do an excellent job.

    Quiet complex and away from all the downtown nuisance. Located in a great hillside area with great biking trails and a coffee shop across the corner. Management has improved gyms and pools are good. BBQ grills have been 50/50 with non functional lighting to use during the evening and hasnā€™t been fixed for nearly 2 years. Management has some options for help for those affected by the pandemic. Overall good experience.

    Ive lived @ Santal for 2.5 years and have loved it. Recently, were under new management & there has been little to no communication. Ive called 4 times & emailed 3 - no response. I realize were in the midst of a global pandemic - but there should be more communication. I preferred our previous system to submit maintenance requests online. Because of the lack of communication or returned calls, I have no idea how to submit a request.

    The property manager and staff do an excellent job insuring the property stays pristine. My AC went out in the middle of the night recently and Juan, one of the maintenance workers, responded immediately :) I would highly recommend this complex to anyone looking for a close retreat from the city.
