    I used Chimney Star for a chimney cleaning back in 2023. Abraham is great and very knowledgeable, and gave us options of what we could (and couldnā€™t) do with the fireplace. I was excited to have a fire place as itā€™s our first home. I called a bunch of chimney sweeps to compare, but Chimney Star had the best customer service and transparency - detailing what theyā€™ll be doing, why, what we can/canā€™t do with the fireplace, etc.After a year of having the wood burning fireplace (and maybe possibly abusing it with too hot of fire) I called Chimney Star to convert our prefab wood burning to gas.He quickly got a quote and gave me some beautiful options for the log designs, and gave me options of the most cost effective ways to make the fireplace into what we wanted (I wanted a lot with very little space and not actually knowing what could be done). Abraham was great about listening and sharing pros/cons. Chimney Star was also great with replacing the chimney chase cover. It was really old and needed to be done. Everything - the chase cover install, to the fireplace conversion - took only a few hours! And now I have a beautiful fireplace.Greatly appreciate Chimney Star, their customer service, knowledge, and transparent processes. Iā€™m going to be bummed I donā€™t have to call them every year for a chimney sweep now that we made the switch to gas. But grateful for their services! I recommend them to anyone needing anything chimney/fireplace related.

    I had a serious issue with smoke coming back inside my house whenever I used my chimney. It was really worrying me, and two different companies couldnā€™t figure out what was wrong. But then I found Mike from Chimney Star of Austin.Mike was amazing! He came out and quickly diagnosed the problem that the other companies had missed. Turns out, the flue wasnā€™t high enough, and there was a lot of creosote build-up in the chimney. Mike extended the flue and gave the chimney a thorough cleaning, which completely solved the smoke issue.Iā€™m so grateful to have found Chimney Star.     Chimney Star is AWESOME!! I had a really old fireplace system in my house that we never used, but given the extreme weather in Austin in the past few years, we decided to get it serviced. Josh came and assessed our fireplace. He was extremely thorough, knowledgeable, and kind. He showed me some issues to only with my fireplace but also on the roof. He removed my old system and replaced it with a modern one, and he was very meticulous in his work. It looks fantastic and works so well!!     This was our first time using Chimney Star after many years of neglecting our fireplace. The experience couldnt have been better! Abraham was so patient and walked me through everything that needed to be done. He worked with me to prioritize the tasks (indoor tasks now, outdoor tasks when the weather is better).     Just had my dryer vent cleaned by them and I am extremely satisfied. My wife called up a hand full of places and got all sorts of prices and different levels of customer service. She felt that Chimney Star had the right balance of price, knowledge, and customer care. They gave a heads up before heading our way and showed up on time. Throughly inspected everything and proposed a couple of options clearly stating advantages of each. The final decision on the type of cleaning was up to me and he went on to do a great job. My dryer vent was badly clogged which is a huge fired hazard. Now everything is clean and my dryer is working way more efficiently. I will add this maintenance service to my annual list going forward.

    Ive never used my fireplace and wanted to make sure nothing was wrong with it. I set up an appointment with Chimney Star and Abraham came over and thoroughly Inspected my Chimney took photos and explained each step and what needs to be done. I went with a Chimney cleaning to get rid of all the Creosote that I had piled on through the years from the previous owner. He showed me each step and what he was going to do. He made sure nothing got on the floors was very polite and made this a learning experience about how to properly use my fireplace and what to look out for. If you ever need your Chimney checked out I would definitely give them a call and also if you get Abraham definitely know hes going to shoot you straight and take care of your needs and worries.     Josh and the team at Chimney Star were great! I needed my chimney cleaned and my dryer vent reconnected after a roofer knocked it out of place during install. It was surprisingly hard to find someone that would handle anything other than just cleaning a dryer vent. Luckily, not only did Chimney Star handle it, they did it quickly and better than expected.Josh was so friendly that I casually mentioned I was considering eventually converting my fireplace from wood back to gas (it has previously been converted from gas to wood). He talked me through the whole process for future reference and made such great recommendations that I decided to just go ahead and have him make the swap.I would absolutely use Josh and Chimney Star again!

    Our dryer hasnt been drying our clothes properly and I noticed a buildup of lint, so I made an appointment with Chimney Star and they came out the next business day. Abraham cleaned out the dryer vent system all the way out through the attic and the exit point of the house. Evidently this vent hasnt been cleaned in 20 years and was super unsafe for us and our pets. The bloackages of lint speak for themselves. I would recommend Chimney Star to anyone, and will continue to use them and their professional services!

    Would I recommend Chimney Star, LLC? I already have! Their scheduler, Regina, was friendly and helpful AND she sent Abraham out the same day. The issue: a critter trapped in my chimney. Abraham was friendly, calm, patient, determined, and resourceful. The goal: Rescue a weakened squirrel from a 1930s chimney flue and, ultimately, release it back into its natural habitat. It took an apple, water, and a rope for the squirrel to climb out on once the squirrel was strong enough. Fast forward about 30 hours and the squirrel was able to climb out on its own. Then Abraham and his apprentice, Mike, designed a temporary fix to close my chimney. I look forward to working with Chimney Star and Abraham on a permanent custom chimney cap. Abraham earned 8 stars on the 5 star scale!

    I had a great experience with Tom! He arrived within minutes of the starting time of a 2-hour arrival window (which surprised the heck out of me!), was both friendly and professional, cleaned and inspected my neglected chimney. My house was not occupied for a long time before I bought the place, and the chimney and fireplace alike clearly were never serviced before it went on the market, so he had a LOT to deal with, but he was unfazed by the scope of the job. Id forgotten to mention I wanted to get a quote for chimney cap! my house is 2 stories tall with crazy metal Roof, Chimney star was able to give me the best price out of 3 different companies.     The cold weather blew in and the inside fireplace and the outside fireplace on the patio needed to be inspected before my parents used them after moving into their new home over a year ago. We were not going to let them go another year without using them. The inside fireplace was in great shape. The outside fireplace had several deficiencies and a code update, and the house is only three years old! Updates and improvements were made including a new burner, new ceramic logs, glowing ambers, and more. It is beautiful.     Tom with Chimney Star just totally made our fireplace shine. He was on time and cleaned the fire box and made it safe by changing out the rusted gas pipe starter that we had for faux firewood, and he converted the pipeline to one for wood burning.     Absolutely great service! My dryer had stopped heating so I figured I would have my dryer vent cleaned. L-shape running from 1st floor and up to the exterior vent on the 2nd floor. I called on Monday and Abraham was out the next day with a 30 minute courtesy call. He inspected the dryer vent from the exterior and noticed nothing that would cause the dryer to stop heating. He then came inside and moved the stackable washer/dryer and snaked his way behind the unit. It was a little tricky getting back there and way out of his way.As he was back there, he said the original install was not completed to his standard so he reinstalled the vent duct from the dryer to the wall and tightly secured it. As the dryer was unplugged, it had an opportunity to reset and now my dryer is heating. Abraham was gracious enough to only charge me the minimum service fee. We overhauled the whole system as there were cracks and the top was uncovered completely. I thought it was going to be a full day of work, but a couple hours later the job was done. I called several companies to compare vendors and I chose Air duct star for 2 reasons. First, they were the only ones who offered to come and provide an estimate. This speaks to the dedication they have in completing the job the right way. They are not interested in taking money for a job that might not solve your problem. They take the time to come, do an inspection, and provide real solutions. David gave me 3 different options and explained each one. Not only was this helpful for making the final decisions, but it also provided me information on which to base my decision, expert advice. Second, they were able to get the job done in the time that i needed it. There was a flexible schedule that accommodated my availability.Also, he doesnt get as much recognition because he is in the office and not on site, but Abraham was also very friendly and helpful during the booking/scheduling process. They took pictures before and after, and David sent me those photos as well as digital copies of all documentation.Had I known what I know now, I wouldnt even have looked anywhere else, this team is the best!
