    Phenomenal service and very responsive. My A/C unit went down on Friday night of Labor Day weekend. I called Ron at Texas Star first thing Saturday morning, and he had my unit back up and running within two hours of the phone call! Ron is very responsive and gave me a great explanation of the work he was doing while he was doing it. He has definitely earned my business for the future, and Ill certainly be pointing all my neighbors his direction when they need help.

    Called Ron at Texas Star on a Saturday evening when my a/c quit on me. Returned my call within 10 minutes and was on site in less than an hour. He is a true professional that takes pride in his work and absolutely knows what he is doing.     I had to come on here and do a review for this awesome company! My husband had Texas Star come out to our home a couple weeks ago because our AC went out...we just bought this house recently...so it was very upsetting. Ron came out and was HONEST with his findings, he didnt try to take advantage of us or the situation, he simply fixed what needed to be fixed, and saved us from what we thought would need to be a full replacement. We know one day we will be looking at having to replace the entire system, but Ron addressed the areas that were causing the problem, and only charged us for what absolutely needed to be replaced. Our AC is running beautifully now, its nice and quiet...whereas before it sounded like a jet engine taking off, and our electric bill even went down! We just wanted to say how much we appreciate a company with integrity and honesty, which is a hard thing to find these days.     Texas star heating & cooling has earned my service for life! My AC unit stopped working on Saturday over Memorial day weekend. Another company came out, told me they couldnt repair it and it needed to be replaced. I started looking for a second opinion. Ron answered my call and came immediately. He walked me through the work he was doing and showed me the part that was bad. He explained everything he did and answered all of my questions. Ron was incredibly thorough, informative, and most importantly HONEST! He repaired my unrepairable AC for a very fair price instead of trying to sell me a new one i didnt need.     So very happy and happy to say I finally have a heating/ac company that will be my go to. Ron explains everything thoroughly and wants to make sure you are happy with his service.     We have been Texas Star Heating & Cooling customers for about 10years and have used them for my fathers home as well. The customer services that Ron Niles provides is amazing. Whenever we have called him, he has responded immediately and in many instances even managed to provide a service call SAME DAY! If not same day, he would arrive in a day or two.     Ron came out to my house within the hour of me calling about my heater not working! He was fast and efficient. He was very professional and explained in detail what the problem was with my heater. He quoted me a reasonable price and got my heater working. Unfortunately, I had to call him back two days later due to a separate issue with my heater. However, Ron was very quick returning to my house and fixing the problem. I am very happy to say I have not had any problems since, especially, during our last two days of below freezing weather. I highly recommend Ron!!!!

    I looked for a recommendation on Facebook and after multiple people recommended Ron, I gave him a call. He arrived at my home within an hour of calling, and was very polite and professional. He checked my AC system, realized I needed a new fan motor. He went through and explained not only the need for a new motor, but why the other one wasn’t working properly. He was kind, respectful, and efficient. He made sure to clean up after himself, and I feel like he went above and beyond to make sure I was getting a good deal.     We were lucky enough to find Texas Star years ago to help maintain our A/C and heating units. One A/C unit was original to our 40 year old home. We we did some upgrades to our house a few years back, there was no doubt that we were in the best hands to walk us through what we needed and then to do THE BEST work replacing our A/C units (the original one was still running thanks to Mr. Ron but it was time for it to retire) and Furnace. The job was done above and beyond any great expectation. When you hire Texas Star, you are hiring the best in the business, hands down.

    Our AC kept tripping the fuse over the weekend. I called Mr. Ron on a Sunday morning. He immediately called back and said he would be there in roughly an hour. He informed that there would be a charge for him coming and that he would review any repairs and the costs. He actually arrived in less than 45 minutes! He was very knowledgeable and you can tell he is an expert in the HVAC field.My only complaint is that there was no review of repairs or expected costs. Granted, I was upstairs dealing with a grumpy toddler. However, by the time I got outside, he had already installed some parts and was getting more from his truck. I am certainly not disappointed in his services and in fact, I am very satisfied in his thorough explanation of the problems, discussion of future maintenance/replacement, prompt response in my call, and pricing in the repairs completed. I just think it is standard practice to give an estimate and get the approval BEFORE completing the work. If it werent for that small glitch, I would definitely give 5 stars. Thanks Mr. Ron!!!

    I contacted Ron because I noticed water coming thru my ceiling upstairs. The problem was relatively minor and the unit just needed some TLC and cleaning. Ron was very informative, gave a lot of information on my AC unit and the short cuts my builder took when installing my unit. He spent at least 2 1/2 hrs taking apart, working, and cleaning all the parts. His workmanship is beyond what I expected and is very honest, dependable, and willing to ensure that his customers are treated right and well informed. Hell be back to increase the airflow of my unit since the building contractors didnt install all of the parts that are needed to ensure optimum performance. His rate was very affordable for a an AC check and he went well above and beyond routine maintenance. Ron actually cares about his customers and appears to enjoy the work..he told me hes been at it for over 30 years and I see it. If you want the best for your AC repairs/maintenance, dont waste your time looking around for other places, CALL RON. You wont be disappointed. Anyone else is just money down the drain.

    While I was out of town and my husband was home, the A/C began going out on a Sunday. Monday morning, my husband found Texas Star Heating and Cooling and Ron came out to our house first thing in the morning. My husband contacted him by 8am, and Ron was at our house by 9:30am. He was incredibly thorough, had to make a few different trips to distribution as he was trying to do step by step what was going on, only to find out multiple issues as he investigated more. Ron was very thorough, upfront and honest. He made sure to explain, in length, what was going on and why he was doing what he was the way he was. When I got home Monday afternoon, Ron was still there working through the heat and the rain storms to make sure we had a working A/C unit. Not only is our A/C unit working, but it is blowing colder than ever. Ron also gave us tips and ideas on ways to better maintain our A/C unit. Ron was flexible for us with payment options and amazing. He made sure to answer all of our questions as well. I would recommend him multiple times over again, and plan to use him for any future A/C needs.

    Amazing Service! Our heater stopped working on one of the coldest nights in houston. After calling around and having bad customer service. I decided to give Texas Star a call and wasnt dissapointed at all! Mr. Ron came to the house in an hour.     A couple of weeks ago, my A/C stopped working, a neighbor referred Ron to me. I called him and when he came, I got the feeling that he was in fact an honest and reliable person. I didn’t tell him this, but before he came I had already had another company give me an estimate. Ron got to work right away and showed me the items he was replacing as he was doing the work. After just a little while, I had my A/C working again and he saved me a lot of money –without even knowing!     I am a home owner who found Ron after checking out his reviews on Google. I had a leak that left my ac blowing hot air. My internal temps reached 88 degrees. Ron came out the next day (at my request) and got me immediately serviced, getting cold air blowing again. Then work really began. He devoted about 5 hours between two visits to completely service my AC unit, fixing what was wrong, and then getting my unit to run efficiently and more effectively to extend the life of my unit which is nearing replacement. His knowledge and passion for his job is second to none. He explained what he was doing every step of the way. And the cost? Half of what I expected! Ron is the real deal!

    My downstairs 5 ton unit went out with a cracked coil on the condenser. I had two other companies look at it and both said it was not repairable and offered to replace it with a new unit ($$$$$). Texas Star was able to come out today and after looking at it said he could easily repair it ($). Ron and his workmate worked on it for a few hours and was able to show me the finished repair and the vacuum test results. I was very pleased with work and the price was much better than a new unit.     I will never call another HVAC company! Ron was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Before he came out, he spent the time to help me over the phone to ensure I had done everything I could do. When he came out to work on my system, he quickly identified my problem. After successfully and quickly finishing the project, he furthered surprised me with his kindness.     I recently moved to Houston from California where I hadnt had air conditioning in my home. I was told I would need to have my A/C unit serviced from time to time so I picked Ron based on internet reviews. He showed up on time and was very professional. As this was my first time to have a house with an A/C unit, I wanted to watch everything Ron was doing so as to familiarize myself with it. Ron was fine with me looking over his shoulder the whole time and answered all of my many questions. He showed me things I could do myself to maintain my system and recommended some filters ( I asked him what brand he used) and a new thermostat ( I didnt really like the one I had) that he didnt sell himself, but he told me what one to get. He thought I could install it myself but told me to call him if I had any problems. I did install the new thermostat myself and it was easy just like he said. Besides his professionalism and competency, the thing I appreciated about Ron the most was that he never tried to upsell me or try to sell me something I didnt need, which I really liked. He charged by the hour and for his supplies, which is what he told me before I hired him, so the bill didnt have any surprises. My A/C is quieter and gets down to temperature faster now, and my wife says the house smells better. I will use Ron again and I would highly recommend him to anyone.

    I came home from work after a long day and discovered that my upstairs AC unit was not cooling. After researching the internet I came across a number of positive Google reviews for a company called Texas Star Heating & Cooling. I then sent an inquiry email to the company and to my surprise was contacted by Ron Niles at 7:30 PM. I scheduled a service call and Ron showed up as scheduled. He did a thorough analysis of my system, fixed the problem and also took the time to educate me on how to prevent a similar problem from occurring in the future. Ron was very professional and I found him to be honest and ethical. I will use him again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to my neighbors.

    I called Texas Star Heating & Cooling after my a/c went out in the middle of July. Ron got out to my house at 5:30 in the evening -- right on the time wed agreed on. He and Jose were professional, and explained what they were doing every step of the way. They showed me how they were trouble shooting and discussed common problems with the systems. They replaced a motor on the a/c that had gone out, cleaned the coils and the a/c is now running great. I liked how Ron was a straight shooter about everything when it came to system. He also guaranteed their work for a year. The price was reasonable for the replacement.I usually dont write reviews, but these guys did such a great job so I needed to. Ill be a returning customer whenever I need a/c help.

    We would highly recommend Texas Star for any AC and Heating work. Ron fixed our unit and took the time to explain exactly what was wrong and show us all the parts installed.The unit went out again 3 weeks later and Ron showed up within two hours.     I contacted Ron for a second opinion after I had another electrician and HVAC specialist analyze the blown breaker to my furnace. Not only did Ron find the root cause of the problem, he repaired the unit at a substantially lower cost. The other two were just going to replace the broken parts, and even recommended the replacement of parts that did not require replacement. I would definitely recommend Ron! In this day and age to find someone in the service industry who takes the time to explain things thoroughly, is an expert at what he does, and truly is looking out for the customer’s best interest is a rarity.

    I called Ron at about 7:10 am, he was at my house at 8:30 am. He diagnosed the problem with my ac (Leaking Condenser Coil) and informed me about my parts warranty that I had which I was not aware of within minuets.     Ron came to evaluate our system and located the problem right away. He advised me on what was best four my house and backed it up with lots of literature and a world of knowledge. All his recommendations made sense and when I challenged him with tough questions he delivered. In addition, he had the lowest quote out of three contractors, all of whom were highly recommended and qualified. The quality of work and attention to detail is something that you just dont see anymore. But he did not stop there. He went out of his way to inspect clean and revise my other two systems to assure me that they were in good condition. He did not have to do this. It was NOT part of his scope of work. I feel very confident in recommending Ron and his company to any residential A/C job. He will definitely be back in my house!

    Weve used Texas Star for several years, and recommend them highly. Our prior units were a mess, after a succession of home warranty repairmen patched the units together over time, always doing the minimum necessary to get them running again, without concern for how well they cooled, or how efficiently they ran.When we dropped the home warranty several years ago, we decided we needed an AC repair service like our Auto mechanic - we needed to find someone capable and trustworthy - someone we could work with for the long term, and who would have a stake in ensuring the units performed well for the long term.After contacting several firms, we selected Ron and Texas Star. He replaced our upstairs unit, and repaired and reworked the downstairs unit to improve its performance, and to give us time between replacements. It was the first summer in a decade when our home stayed cool in the peak of summer heat.Their professionalism and attention to detail is clear, from they way they diagnosed, explained, and fixed performance problems in the old unit, to the layout of the new installations we have now. Whats just as impressive is Rons ongoing concern for the performance of the units, and our continued satisfaction. Ron and Texas Star have earned my trust.

    My experience sounds much like many others I have read on here. My air conditioner unit upstairs stopped working. I replaced the thermostat on the unit because it was so old, I couldnt find a battery to replace from inside thermostat. So I replaced it myself and it still didnt work. I contacted my home warranty company, Allied Home Warranty, and as always they ended up trying to get me to pay for services that I did not feel were necessary. They sent out RLC Services to check on my unit and in their work order, said that I needed $1900.00 worth of repairs and upgrades in order to get it running again. After arguing over price with them for a week and a half and a week and a half of horrible customer service and repeated phone calls, I gave up. That is when I called Ron and Texas Star. From the first conversation with them I could tell that they were different. Ron and his assistant came out and were very professional. He did a thorough evaluation and determined that there was actually nothing wrong except the switch on the back of the thermostat that I installed was switched to electric and not gas for the type of unit I have. He did not charge me a dime and was extremely informative and actually pointed out an electrical issue that I was unaware of. There is nobody else I will ever call if I have hvac issues again.     My ac went out the first warm snap this summer. Ron came out on a Thursday and did his original inspection. He told me what was wrong and quoted me a price. The next day he was back with the parts and madethe repair. While making the repairs, he both showed and explained exactly what was wrong and what he was doing to keep the issue from happening again. He even came by the next day to check and make sure that everything was working properly and make sure that I didnt have any more issues. Props to you Ron for the timely response to my call and the Excellent service before, during and after the repairs.I would absolutely recommend using Texas Star Heating & Cooling!

    I want everybody to know that Ron is a stand up guy!He does great work and knows what he is doing!He came to my home and looked everything over and said hecould repair everything and just add a coil and everything would be ok.He could have just as easily said we needed to replace everything buthe didnt.He and Jose stayed on the job for about 13 hrs. straight and he came out the following day and finished up.I could not be happier with the results, my house is cooler than it has ever been andI actually am freezing running the A/C at the same temperature as before.If you need youre system repaired by an honest hard working guy, then Ron is the gut to see.You wont be disappointed, I promise.

We contacted four other companies about coming out the same day for repair, but they could not do it. We contacted Texas Star and Ron came out within an hour to fix our A/C unit.     I had an excellent experience with Texas Star. Ron is very knowledgeable about HVAC systems. I first called him in November 2014 to identify a strange noise coming from my outside unit. He promptly identified and fixed the issue. He also did an inspection on my dual zone system which was not working efficiently. It was over-stressing the compressor and reducing its life. He redesigned my system and installed efficient dampers to better distribute the air flow for the dual zone. He did the changes in November and he told me that he would come back in the spring to check it out, just to make sure everything is working properly. He actually came back last week, tuned-up the system and everything is working fine and very efficiently. Ron did an amazing job and I highly recommend him for any HVAC job!

    I highly recommend using Texas Star. Our A/C started acting up within a day. We called a different company to come out and check out the system. The technician spent 4 hours and allegedly found a small leak. The tech notified us that the unit needed 10-12 pounds of Freon to bring it back online. The tech couldn’t provide any assurance that they found all the leaks, i.e., if it happened again they wouldn’t be responsible. I decided to get a second opinion on the problem and called Texas Star due to their good reviews plus good standing with the BBB. Ron came out quickly, found another small leak but nothing that would cause total loss of Freon. Then Ron went to the unit to add Freon, guessing the earlier opinion from the first tech was correct, but realized quickly that the system did not need any Freon at all. Ron went back and did a whole house review of the system and fixed a couple of minor issues that he found. Ron got us back online within an hour of his arrival. Since then we have not had any problems with the system plus Ron saved about $1K on unnecessary repair work claimed by the first company for Freon. Ron took the time to explain what he was doing, what the problems he found were, ways to remediate the issue, and helped us prioritize what repairs and corrections would benefit our whole house AC system. We really appreciated Ron’s professionalism, courtesy, and above all honesty. He has definitely earned any future business we may have.

    As first time homebuyers, my husband and I were lost when it came to getting our AC repaired. Ron at Texas Star was the third company I called. The first company came out and wanted to charge an arm and a leg for a new evaporator coil. I called the second company and set up an appointment. I called Texas Star next, and I was so pleased with the knowledge Ron gave me over the phone that I called the second company back and cancelled. Calling Ron was the best thing I could have done! He explained we didn’t need a new evaporator coil, but just a few other parts(way less expensive!!).     Texas Star Heating & Cooling came to give a second opinion on an AC problem diagnosed as a leaking evaporator coil that they said would cost $2000+ to replace. Texas Star said there was Not a leaking Evap. Coil and serviced the AC, saving me lots of money by being Honest and Experienced.Texas Star saved the day-I would recommend this company to my friends and neighbors.He even came back on a Saturday to repair a leaking drain that could of caused expensive drywall damage.Thanks Ron you Rock!!!

    We just purchased a new home in which the AC system had been certified to be working properly when we moved in. However, one of the two AC units was not working as well as it should have been, and I searched online for someone in the Cypress area who could check it out for us. I found Texas Star and after reading all of the great reviews, I called them early one morning - on a weekend no less. Ron called me back within 10 minutes and said he would be over within a short time. He spent a couple of hours carefully looking at the system in the attic and found some situations where the original installer cut corners and improperly installed key parts of the system. After correcting those deficiencies he completely checked out the system from top to bottom and tuned it up. He will be calling the system manufacturer to confirm other ways to fine tune our system to get us the most efficient cooling we can have in this new home and then he will return to make some further adjustments. I cant say enough great things about Ron. He does what he says he will do; he also explained everything that was going on with our system as he worked in the attic. I highly recommend Ron at Texas Star for all of your HVAC needs.

    I am a small business owner offering paint classes throughout the week including Friday and Saturday evenings. Our AC went out at about 3PM on a Saturday afternoon. We had over 50+ guests expected to our studio that evening. I googled AC Repair Cypress, TX and located Texas Star Heating & Cooling. Ron (owner) answered at 6PM that evening (after I attempted to repair myself). He was very professional and extremely knowledgable and AVAILABLE! He went to our studio, fixed the problem, discussed the problem and fix. He returned on following Monday to continue repair and left a box of the correct filters for our commercial AC unit. I cannot express how blessed I was to 1) have the owner answer the phone on the weekend, 2) agree to visit and repair our unit on no notice/weekend 3) have the problem resolved within hours!     I had Ron come out to my home last week for a basic service call thru AHS. He was very prompt in calling back and was right on time for our scheduled appt. Ron was able to diagnose why the system was not cooling very quickly, and had our system back up and running in no time.He was extremely knowledgable of his business, and interested in helping get our system working to its potential, not just trying to sell us a new system. He actually even came back a few days later to do some testing on air flow in our system to make sure we did not have some additional problems that needed addressed. Ron provided several solid suggestions, and a few technical articles that I found very interesting about HVAC equipment and systems. He really strives to educate his customers, so they understand what is really important in your HVAC systems.Ive been in my home for 15 years, and Ron is by far the most knowledgable HVAC repairman that I have had come out to service our system.     Ron and his crew are the friendliest, most knowledgeable HVAC company I have ever done business with. We have used them to service our HVAC systems for 5 years and two houses.     I had our commercial building A/C Unit replaced a couple of weeks ago. I contacted 3 different companies to get quotes. This process is never easy because you never know who your going to get, and when it comes to A/C things usually are not cheap. Out of the 3 companies Texas Star fell right in the middle. The reason they fell in the middle was because the cheaper company wanted to put in a higher amperage unit with less voltage to save on the cost after I told them we have 3 Phase unit presently. The more expensive company had service I didnt completely agree with. So I contacted Texas Star H/C and Ron came out. Ron explained that the wiring in the building would not hold the Amperage of a cheaper unit the cheaper company wanted to sell me and could short out and cause a fire. This was something I didnt even consider, but having wired many cars and lifts it made sense. My mind was fixed on getting my A/C repaired for the cheapest I could. So being in a Industrial Complex this could be bad, because nobody wants to burn their business down and their neighbors business as well. So Ron came out looked over my system and explained that not only was my unit bad, but whoever originally did the install had put in to small of a return for a 5 Ton Unit. Which again made sense. So upon replacing the unit he ran 2 more returns in another space in the building. So I sit here in my office enjoying how now at 77 It is cooler in here than it ever has been in the last 2 1/2 years. Ron did exactly what he said he was going to do, for the price he said he would do it, and did it when he said he was going to do it. He even said he would come back in a week to check the flow of the air and he did that as well. Good Job Guys. You are 1 in a Million.

    So glad i found these guys! Honest and straight to the point. I had a small leak from my drain pan and Ron and Jose came in and fixed the problem in about 15 minutes. While they were at it they also gave me pointers on the proper filters and how to maintain my AC unit. Ive always dealt with the typical 1-800 number contractors. Never again. Will always go local and for my AC and heating work i will always call Texas Star!

    Texas Star is EXACTLY like all the positive reviews say on here. The fan blade on our outside unit stopped working and therefore no cold air could blow inside. Our house got up to 85 degrees and we were miserable. Ron came out within an hour after calling him (after regular hours) and recognized the problem immediately. He replaced the capacitor in minutes and the problem was solved! He is super-friendly and helpful beyond what his normal duties would dictate.     First of all our heater went out on early Sunday morning 3/3/13 around 2 am. I looked online and read excellent reviews about Texas Star Heating and Cooling and gave him a call. He came to my house quickly after we had called and we were thankful since it was a Sunday morning. Ron was very polite and extremely professional. He had shoe covers on his feet to prevent any dirt from coming in. He went in the attic and starting looking at our heater. He was able to find the problem quickly. Our gas ignitor had went bad and our blowers were filthy. He said he could have the ignitor first thing in the morning. He came bright and early with his helper Jose and they immediately laid our sheets from the front door to my sons room where the attic stairs are and started bring everything in. He switched out the ignitor, brought down the blower and clean it. He sanitized my evaporator as well. He also changed out our vent that houses our filters. He also fixed the air duct in our sons room. Either his room would get too hot or too cold. When he was finished with everything he vacuum the rug from my sons room to the front door. He provided the best customer service I had ever seen. I was so impressed and I will definitely recommend him to all my friends and family. I liked his company on facebook as well so all my friends can see. So if you want the best and quick air service you will choose Texas Star! Thanks Ron for all your help! You are a good honest person and your company reflects that!!!

    I had my a.c. quit during record breaking heat. Ron and Jose were working on a big project many miles from me. They came out within 2 hours. Fixed problem and explained why.     I called Air Pro and they came out and gave me an estimate of 3640 to fix my system and had a list of problems from bad expansions to leaks. They also charged me 80 bucks for this wrong diagnostic. The 2nd company I called out was Texas Star. Ron came out and found out the real problem . He will show you and explain to you the problem and the solution to fix it. He found a valve that wasnt installed properly. He fixed it quick and his total was for from the 3600 from the other company. H fixed everything and had me back up and going for 650 . He has earned a life long costumer. I have his number saved in my phone now . He also installed a sight glass to monitor the refrigerant.

    Ron was extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly during his visit. He immediately identified the problem, explained the repair to be made, and the cost of the repair. During the repair, he explained the general function of the system and how to maintain the system properly to reduce future costs. After replacing the capacitor, he identified that the motor had overheated. Rather than stick us with the cost of a new motor, he cooled the motor then tested it for proper function. By doing this, he demonstrated that his care for his customers exceeds his concern for his bottom line. His card is going on our fridge for any future issues we may have.
