We have worked with 4 different AC companies since buying our house in 2020 because our HVAC system was so messed up and previous owners cut a lot of corners. We had a large, well known company come out when one of our units stopped cooling and tried to upsell us on a whole new system. We were referred to Southern Air for a second opinion by our realtor. Shane came out promptly and was quickly able to tell us we did not need a new system. He is very direct and no nonsense with his communication which I appreciated. He saved us a lot of money. Not only did he fix what we called him about and he quoted us on, he fixed everything else he saw that was wrong without even being asked. He is incredibly knowledgeable, detail oriented, and incredibly hard working - truly, was here for 12+hours with minimal breaks. We will never ever call anyone else!!

While out of town our main AC unit stopped cooling. We called Southern Air Services, LLC in Lake Dallas. Shawn quickly determined the AC compressor in our 2-year-old American Standard was no longer working. He thought it might have been due to storms and a lightning induced power surge while we were out of town. He ordered a warranty replacement compressor from American Standard and installed it the next day. The unit worked fine for a day or so and then no longer cooled. By that time Southern Air Services was fully booked with other customers. However, Shawn came by the next day early, before needing to make his next scheduled calls. He quickly determined that the original installation, by another company two years earlier, had not installed needed pressure regulating equipment on the main unit. He ordered the parts and installed them the next evening, after servicing his scheduled customers for that day. He worked late into the evening and finished installing the needed equipment before dark. All costs for these two additional visits were at no cost under the Southern Air Services labor warranty. You could not ask for better service.

Last Friday my AC quit working. My landlord will not pay overtime charges even if its 110 degrees outside. I asked him to call Shane at Southern Air Services on Saturday because I had heard he does not charge overtime even if its on the weekend. He called Shane that afternoon and he came right out and fixed the problem. The drain had not been cleaned in years, the coil was frozen up, and it was low on Freon. Shane fixed it within probably an hour. He was professional, courteous, reasonably priced, quick, and now my house is cool again. I highly recommend Southern Air Services! Thank you for the hard work Shane!

Amazing service!!! So happy to have them!! We were terribly concerned to discover that our roof was leaking into our kitchen!! We had no idea where to turn! After inspecting the attack my hubby realized it was AC related. We were so afraid that this would cause damage to our drywall and furniture! We called several companies and Shane was the first one to tell us he would come the same day. He said he would prioritize us as and ensured us that he would be to our home within a few hours. He was also very professional in communication regarding his ETA. He seemed to know exactly what our issue was once we told him the problem. He was very knowledgeable. Once Shane arrived he immediately began resolving our issue and we were as good as new within an hour! He also had the parts necessary to handle the job at hand. We appreciate Souther Air Services so much and will definitely contact them next time we need any air conditioning assistance. I highly recommend them!!

Hello all! My Air Conditioner died on Sunday morning and through a series of events I was recommended to Shane at Southern Air Services and I was not disappointed! Not only did he fix my air conditioner he made sure to leave it in a much better situation before he left. Cannot thank him enough. My house feels better then it has in a long while and for much less then others quoted to me. I highly recommend him! Shane and his team set the standard for high quality customer service and communication. 18 months ago they installed a new heat pump system in my house(both the outdoor and indoor units), which included the relocation of the indoor unit from the first floor to the attic. It works great. The system can be monitored remotely - Shane contacted me to alert me to an issue with the system, and made an appointment to check it out. I appreciate the attention to detail, on-time arrival, and the willingness to take the time to provide explanations and answer questions. I highly recommend Southern Air Services.

You arent going to find a better tech than Shane.When we bought our house 7 yrs. ago, we signed the paperwork, got the keys, walked in, and it was 95 degrees in the house. The a.c. had been running for 2 days.Another AC company had checked out the system a week before and gave it a clean bill of health. I called them up and they promptly told me the entire system needed to be replaced even though they said everything checked out a week earlier.I called Shane and within a few hours he was able to diagnose and correct several different problems with the system and had it up and running strong. He has done the maintenance ever since and the same system is still working well today.I highly recommend Southern Air Services. They are honest and reliable at a fair price.

I dont normally post reviews but Shane is exceptional and his team absolutely deserves special recognition. I was unlucky enough to get hit by several HVAC failures in rapid succession. Im new to the area and didnt know who was reputable. Visits from multiple other well-known local service providers all felt more like sales calls - diagnostic efforts were minimal and clear issues were overlooked... they all just wanted me to buy overpriced new systems.I reached out to Shane for a second opinion and it was rapidly evident that I had stumbled upon a hidden gem. His initial review was far more thorough than his competitors. In addition to fixing my show-stopper HVAC issue, he identified and repaired a number of other smaller issues that prior service techs had ignored. Southern Air Services is the best A\C company Ive used yet. I bought my home 13 years ago. After coming home late Thursday night to a 90 degree house ( it was 86 outside), I was very frustrated considering I put a new unit in in the spring of 17. I tried the breaker a couple times and no luck. I sent Shane a text around 1 a.m. He text me back at 6 a.m. saying he would swing by after his first stop at 7. He had a general idea of what the problem was based on the info I provided. He got here around 7:45 and had my outside unit back on and blowing cold air in 30 minutes. The only reason it took him that long is because the digital thermostat had a time-delay function on it. He was able to squeeze me in as I live in Lake Dallas not far from his office. But that typifies the level of personal service Southern Air strives to provide. Shane constantly talked about wanting to be different than the others. He wants to add a personal element to his service so that his customers dont feel so overwhelmed by the absorbent, enormous cost that can happen when facing A/C repairs. I highly recommend Southern Air to anyone needing A/C repair, a new unit or simply have questions. Call Shane & Charlsie, theyll definitely take care of you.

My AC quit working on Monday, had Shane come out that afternoon. He found and mentioned things no other AC Tech had ever mentioned (like a nearly completely plugged drain line and a higher than expected vacuum return pressure). It turned out that the compressor was going bad, so he quoted me a new one, and said that hed try to squeeze me in the next day for an install. Tuesday evening at 5, he comes and start the install on the new compressor unit in 99 degree weather. Finished by 8, then kept going to another call. Shane is tenacious. He wants it to be perfect, and will keep working until it is.Hes the best guy Ive worked with. Highly recommended.

It took me awhile to decide to replace the old AC with a brand new system. After getting multiple estimates, I decided to go with Shane (Southern Air Services) and have no regrets whatsoever!Their products, pricing, responsiveness, timelines for the work and the overall positive impression I got from the initial in-home visit and interactions with Shane around the specifics and necessary adjustments to the estimate were all great.I decided to go all in and rip out the existing system, including ductwork and the system.The crew that arrived did an amazing job! I want to give a shout out to Shane Dendy at Southern Air Services. He has been out to my rental house a few times to troubleshoot an A/C unit that periodically stops working. Shane is super-responsive to calls and texts. Twice we called on a Sunday and Shane was out at my house the very next morning by 7AM. Hes punctual, professional and he seemed to go above and beyond by doing little things like trimming some foliage that was blocking the A/C unit, taping exposed wiring, cleaning the coils, etc. He even made sure he was not tracking mud through the house. It ended up that the entire system needed to be replaced. He and another employee came out today at 7 and completed the work by noon. Ahhhhh...so nice to have A/C again after a week of bearing with 85 degree weather INSIDE! I highly recommend Shane and Southern Air Services. Thanks,

We had two AC service companies come out to diagnosis a leaking AC unit and broken drain pan that had caused a leak in our ceiling and neither one was able to fix the problem, they just said that it needed more insulation. We had Shane from Southern Air Services stop by to take a look and he was able to fix the problem in 30 minutes with the drain and finally stopped leaking. He also replaced the drain pan for a third of what the other company had quoted us. Highly recommend Shane from Southern Air Services.

Awesome service! I had two HVAC systems I needed to replace in Dec 2018, so I researched a few companies on Angies List as well as my local Nextdoor recommendations. Frankly, I did not want to hire some big name A/C company who runs ads on TV (imagine the advertising budget they must have!). Bottom line, I hired one high-rated installer from Angies List and fortunately chose the second installer through a Nextdoor recommendation: Shane Dendy of Southern Air Services. The difference in the results was night & day. Shanes work was professional from the start. He has the knowledge, the experience and the skills to do the job right and hes very conscientious about system efficiency. I was very pleased with his system installation so I asked him to bid on replacing the duct work where the other company had worked. Shane pointed out several things the other installer had not done correctly, some of which could have caused serious problems. As a result, I hired Shane to correct the problems and to enhance the system to work more efficiently. Now I am pleased with both systems and I will be looking to hire Southern Air Services again for the annual HVAC maintenance.

We gained some extra space in the house, moving the furnace from a closet in a bedroom and up to the attic. He installed a Nexia smart thermostat which was easy to set up with our wifi! If youre looking for a reliable and professional A/C company, Southern Air Services is your go to. My A/C system was not working and could not cool down. I had first called another company, and they told me that the whole A/C system needed to be replaced. Wary of this answer, I found this company on the internet and decided to check it out. I called him at 3:43, and Shane came at 4:45. Very quick service and on time. Shane meticulously checked every detail in my system and found and fixed a small leak in the outdoor unit. In only 2 hours, my A/C system was fixed. Top notch service and professional manner! I normally dont give out reviews, but Shane has surpassed my expectations and I would definitely recommend him to anyone with A/C problems.

In the middle of August my wife called me at work and said our AC wasnt working on a Sunday. I was able to call them and they were their and fixed the problem within an hour for what I believe to be an inexpensive fee. Then in when my wife and I decided in October to get the whole system replaced, we got multiple quotes. They were not the cheapest of all the quotes but in the end were only 200 dollars more then the cheapest and did far more work then the other companies were going to do. All the other companies were going to do was replaced the unit itself and not do anything with the duct work. I told them the back bedrooms sometimes get warmer then the rest of the house due to a far run in duct work. Shane would not leave my house with that problem occurring. He replaced some of the duct with larger tubing and rearranged a lot of the duct work so it was not spaghetti all around my attic. When we were looking at the different types of units he gave me multiple options and listened to what I wanted. He did not try to oversell me some extra high dollar unit. He even helped me register online for the extended warranty through the units website prior to leaving. All work was done in less then 6 hours so the house never got extremely warm and uncomfortable. If I have any future problems I 100% plan to call Shane and if anyone asks me who I used I will 100% recommend him to friends and family!

Best service and really considerate! Shane Dendy knows his stuff and works hard to get things done quickly and efficiently. I could not be happier...trust him when he makes a suggestion for your HVAC. He moved a vent into our closet (which had been muggy hot) and moved the panel to a place that wouldnt compete or be over run by our other system. As you show him your house he might ask if you want to change things for efficiency...just give him the go ahead...he knows better than you do what works best in your house! (At least I can say with confidence: he knew better than my husband and me!!!)Even had to go up a degree or two (so it runs less) because it cools the house so well!Call Shane at Southern Air...you wont be disappointed!

Amazing Service and professionalism. Our AC went out and Southern Air Services did an amazing install setting us up with a huge upgrade from what we had. We upgraded to an American Standard 2 stage unit. Not only did they perform an impeccable install but they relocated the unit in the attic to increase efficiency and also giving us more room in the attic. We know who we will call from now on!

Southern Air Services and Shane Dendy. We cannot say enough good things about them. We live in a two-story house with separate HVAC units for each floor. Our last replacement systems did not include a heat pump and the heating and cooling were always uneven from one end of the house to the other. We were at the point where to reach any acceptable type of cool temperature this summer was going to cost a fortune in repairs and an immediate outlay of around $300 in coolant – a problem which would keep on happening. Our electric bills had been rising and for the past 2 months were over $500. We knew we needed a new system, and all of the bids came in around the same price for replacement units on each floor. Then we spoke to SAS who came at it from a new and better angle. Shane reviewed the whole house from top to bottom and threw out the whole idea of two units and offered us a bid for about the same cost as the others, but for a single unit and the addition of more vents and larger air returns and a considerably improved duct system. He installed a Variable speed Air Handler which he said is much quieter in the low speed , the unit basically will shift when needed into the 2nd stage and you may hear some airflow then but will overall be very quiet. On Tuesday, the first day, there was a preliminary preparation of the area and attic space and by Thursday it was completely installed and finished (with no cleanup for us)!Today I checked our new electricity bill. Our energy charge last month was $533.20 (plus Oncor delivery charges $153.61). This latest bill which included almost exactly half of the old system and only half of the month with the new one showed this month’s energy charge was $201.75 (plus Oncor delivery charges of $60.24). Less than half of the previous month.We cannot recommend Shane Dendy and Southern Air Services Highly enough and we will certainly recommend him and promote his company to anyone we know might need their services.Thank you Shane.
