    Owens AC (JAKE) was recommended to us by a friend who is also in the business. Noticed a hose was detached on the outside unit and knew it needed to be looked at before it became a serious problem with the weather heating up. Jake came out and always communicated promptly with us and took care of this and thoroughly serviced our units. We have always been skeptical of having our units serviced as we have had problems in the past when we did. Jake found no issues and we are so thankful for finding such a professional -knowledgeable- trustworthy & reasonably priced company we can count on in servicing our future AC needs.

    Jake replaced our old worn out unit with a new heat pump system and we could not be more pleased. His expertise and service are top notch. He took time to thoroughly explain our options and how the new unit works in a way we could understand. We feel he went above and beyond in installation and service.     I have been a loyal customer of Owens AC for several years now, and I cannot recommend their service enough. Today the AC upstairs stopped cooling so I reached out to Jake.When it comes to professionalism, Jake is in a league of his own. Not only is he responsive, but hes lightning fast. Ive never had to wait more than a few minutes for a reply from him. Its like he has a sixth sense for knowing when his customers need him. Talk about customer service!But what really sets Jake apart is his knowledge. This guy is a walking encyclopedia of HVAC systems. He knows all the ins and outs, the nitty-gritty details that most people wouldnt even think about. If you have a question, he has an answer with a detailed explanation.Ive had my fair share of AC troubles over the past few years and Jake has always come to the rescue. Whether its a simple repair or a full system replacement, he tackles it with ease. And let me tell you, his work is top-notch.     We had Owens AC come out to replace a coil that we knew had problems. They were right on it and had a few questions over the phone so that when they came to the house they had everything needed. Did not have some extreme back up on the schedule or getting in the materials, only took from one weekend to the next. Work was all completed on one day. Price was very competitive and a great deal for the service we got. We will recommend Owens AC to everyone, Jake was great.

    This is who you call if you want your heating or air conditioning fixed. Jake is knowledgeable, professional, honest, and easy to work with. We’ve used him several times to both repair and replace a/c in our 20+ yr old home. He also repaired my commercial refrigerator a few years ago. Thanks to him, my cake orders stayed cool! 🙂 I don’t write many reviews, so if you’re reading this, it’s because I felt he was worth recommending!

    We have a two system two story house and have over the past few months experienced some problems with the downstairs outside condenser. Another ac service that is just down the street from me came out last month and confirmed my judgement that the starter capacitor for the compressor motor was blown and that it also needed an additional capacitor installed. (I had supplied the larger capacitor myself and had it properly installed.) This serviceman installed the additional capacitor and checked the refrigerant level. That seemed to do the trick and my bill for this service was $474.00, a charge I found rather high. Within 2 weeks the outside unit was again refusing to run. I called my local down the street guy and they sent out a new fellow who within the first 5 minutes proclaimed that my compressor condenser was totally fried and probably the upstairs unit was also burned up and dangerous. Mind you he never went upstairs to the attic to check on the inside ac blower, etc. He quoted me a total price for a brand new unit of around $16,000.00. I told him that I was not interested and that I just might get some window units if I did find the unit to be “fried,” He told me that county code would demand that I replace the ac unit in my house which I built myself over a 7 year period, with a system similar to the original unit which was not fixable. I smelled a rat and we got busy finding another ac service . That’s where Jake Owens came to our rescue in the 100 plus heat wave.Jake looked at the outside unit and ran various circuit checks and said that he thought the problem was likely inside with the as blower in the attic. Sure enough, after checking on that inside unit Jake found copious amounts of dust and debris built up on a filter that was too thick to begin with. This Carrier unit was built to shut down when the air flow fell below a certain level. Jake cleaned up the mess, put in a new better designed filter and everything came back to life and our 8 year old Carrier system ran as good as new. My bill from Jake was less than $100.00 and I tipped him extra for a job well done. Needless to say, “Nobody but Jake Owens will ever touch my ac systems ever again. Jake is an honest young man with a respectful demeanor and old-time Texas courtesy. He’s an excellent worker and is very knowledgable about ac systems. He saved me from what I can only conclude was a deliberate attempt to rip me off big time.

    I installed a split system in my home, but needed a certified HVAC Technician to charge it and complete the final installation. I called a few places, but was not accommodated due to the do-it-yourself install. A friend of mine referred me to Owens AC. Jacob didnt hesitate to help me out. Not only did he get my system running, but he was kind and patient enough to troubleshoot and identify some of my install errors. I would recommend Owens AC in a heartbeat!     I wanted the outside condenser moved over about 3 feet to accomodate a deck expansion. The copper lines would have to be extended as well as the thermostat line coming from the inside exchange unit. I got 3 quotes - and Jakes quote was the ONLY reasonable quote. The others were so out of whack with the real world that i had to laugh.Jake arrived ontime, went straight to work, then checked and double checked his work to make sure there was no be back. In doing that, he discovered where a previous repair person ruined the service valves. Thankfully there was a simple means to fix the issue.All in all what resounded with me the most was the honesty, the non-arrogant confidence, and his integrity. His attention to detail - AND - the willingness to check and double check his own work was most impressive.Would hire Owens AC again? You bet I would - and without any hesitation.

    Jake fixed my furnace on short notice, just before the ice storm! I called him to describe the problem and sent him a picture of the unit, and he knew exactly what the problem was.
