5 stars are not enough. They saved me hundreds of dollars by providing the correct diagnosis for a blower motor that never turns off. Very experienced and genuinely want to help a homeowner as opposed to these HVAC companies making profit by misdiagnosing your system and upselling parts you don’t need. These companies in DFW want to change your whole HVAC system if it’s close to 10 years old. Be careful and stop by Open to Public HVAC parts before doing that.

Repairman quoted me $1,000, Open to Public cost me $175. Absolutely fantastic people! Called first, spoke with Matt who helped me troubleshoot and confirm my Condenser Motor was bad, he made sure I knew how to disconnect it properly, and said bring it in and they could test and confirm. Took it in and Crystal helped, absolutely wonderful person! She confirmed, replaced the motor for me onto the fan blades, and even made sure I knew how to reinstall, AND explained a couple different ways to make sure I knew hot to install a new capacitor correctly. I cannot recommend them enough!

Incredible shop. They had my part in stock. I was advised to bring the motor with the lid and they would replace it. Chrystal was amazing and hooked up the new motor to the fan, terminated cables and cut them to length along with trimming the motor shaft! She also explained the process along the way. Wish I could rate them 10 stars. Highly recommend!!

If I could give 10 stars I would. This place is awesome!! My Carrier ECM blower motor went out and I was quoted $2,900 to replace it. I called them and told them the part number and they found a motor that would work for a few hundred dollars! They told me to bring the blower with the housing and they would install it for me. The installation required a bit of a retrofit with a bracket and wiring harness because it was a more affordable option they offered. Crystal helped me from start to finish, including the installation. She tested it after finished and answered my questions thoroughly. She was very nice and knew what she was doing. I took it home, plugged it in, and it worked perfectly!!

This is the best place in the DFW area for HVAC parts, they have a ton of parts in stock and will gladly test and replace components for you free of charge! Seriously, what kind of business still does this?!?I took my blower motor in today and not only did they have a replacement but they also swapped it out of the housing for me and tested it before I left. I couldn’t ask for a better experience.10/10 would recommend!

I had a technician from a reputable HVAC company come out and misdiagnose an issue as a bad motor with my central air furnace. I was referred to Open to Public HVAC, and spoke to a most helpful and highly experienced tech. She asked me a few questions over the phone before recommending that I bring the blower motor to the store for bench testing. After arriving to the store, I was greeted by her and she remembered the discussion we had regarding my issue. She took her time running several bench test on the motor along with adjusting the blower fan. The motor worked without an issue. She spent 30 minutes running test and gave me a few recommendations to try after reassembling the furnace. I kept asking if I could pay her for her time and she was adamant about not accepting a payment. After reassembling my unit it seems there was only a loose lead on the board.This company saved me 1800.00 bucks. I’m forever a customer and I highly recommend Open To Public HVAC to anyone looking for an experienced and honest professional.

If I could give this store a 10 star review, I would. We got quoted $2300 to replace a fan blower motor and a capacitor. This store found a replacement for the motor and a capacitor for $170, calibrated it, mounded to the hood and even helped answering questions on the phone about a wire that we didn’t know where to plug. Great prices and fantastic customer service!

Wow, its rare to give a 5 star review for a retail business. This post is my tribute to being supported by true customer support excellence. This company is amazing! I am in Fort Worth and had an ac condensor fan stop working on my residence. I couldnt get a service tech out until next week. I depart on Monday and needed to get my ac working before I left. I found OTTP HVAC online and Chester helped me trouble shoot my issue over the phone. He recommended that I bring my fan including the housing cover to their offices. It was a 1 hour drive for me. When I arrived, Chrystal took charge and tested my fan and capacitor. My 1/8 HP Motor had failed. I have an Odd size motor and she had it in stock. She did the installation including the molex connector wiring, cut the motor shafts, did a great job and then tested everything before I left. 10 star service, my forever AC service provider for DIY. This is a hidden gem in the metroplex. Their price was very fair and Ill drive the hour for any future needs! Thanks to Chester amd Crystal for an amazing customer experience!

Quoted $405+ service fee time ($300) to replace 24v transformer ($34), after a ONCOR transformer blew up caught on fire and sent power surges though my 80 yr old home. Fried, doorbell, fridge, power strips, radios and HVAC transformer ( also need the $7 fuse #3 at home depot) Took 20 min. to replace, simple 4 wires. TAKE PICTURES with your phone. The staff were very helpful and answered my questions, although they assumed I knew much more than I do. Had to read and watch youtube, and google instructions and figure out black wire.. is common.. then 24v output is blue wire.. etc. Just dont be intimidated. write down the answers and push them to give you more information.. They were very helpful, next issue this will be my first stop. My HVAC guy blew me off twice and then texted he got sick at 4:30 after waiting for him all day. (screw him) do it yourself with the great help of this place and its employees. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

Coming here saved me a ton of time and trouble. The blower fan on the outdoor unit was squeaking and spinning backwards. I couldnt find replacement parts anywhere and couldnt afford to call a service technician out to the house. I called here and they couldnt find the parts either but they told me to bring in the motor and housing and they could figure out a replacement.Not only did the technician figure out an aftermarket replacement, she connected it to my existing wiring and mounted the new motor on my housing so all I had to do was reconnect the wires the same way I took them off. My ac was blowing cold within 30 minutes of leaving their store.The price of the part was reasonable and the labor was free. Ill repeat that--the labor was free. I likely would have spent hours figuring out how to do it right but I didnt have to. I just got the job done.

These guys and gals are top notch, popped in for a fan motor and capacitor. Prices were great and was notified that if we brought in the old fan assembly they’d swap the new motor in for us. Came back with the old unit and ladies up front trimmed the excess length off the new shaft, swapped all the parts around and topped it off with loctite on the hardware and dolled up the wiring. 10/10 would come back. I had a fan blower squirrel cage fail and this business offered exactly what I needed…a replacement part as well as diagnostics of my motor to confirm it is still working properly. This place is amazing! I brought my fan, motor and lid in to be tested. The motor was bad. They had a motor that was cheaper than anything I could find online. The tech swapped the motors, took the fan blades off the old motor and put them on the new one. They even wired it for me. All of that with no extra charge. I highly recommend them. They will be the first place I call for HVAC parts.

I had my hamster wheel break in half and my wife started doing the repairs on it she got the fan out and was told by a different retailer to replace the motor which that was not the problem. She called open to public about the hamster wheel. They said they had one. She also took the entire housing for the motor and wheel into the store where Matt bench tested the old motor said maybe 10 years maybe not at that time we decided to just upgrade the motor. Matt replaced the motor and the wheel and tuned it all to the housing and set up wires where the install was very easy. My wife got it all installed and I appreciate everything this company did to help us. Next time I’m starting here so thank you guys very much

Outstanding experience at OTP HVAC Parts. I took in a broken condenser fan motor and they were able to identify the correct replacement part, trim down the shaft spindle to the right length, remove unnecessary wires, and provide additional guidance around the different mounting style for the new motor and confirmed that the new motor would use a lower capacitance post. I probably saved around $750 by visiting OTP and doing the replacement myself instead of calling an HVAC repair company. Highly recommended.

A real hidden gem. Only went for one thing so I cant speak about other prices. The draft inducer assembly was more than I expected after shopping around online, but then there was no knowledge base to ask questions of with online vendors. I went with a local option, and Im glad I did.The Packard part I bought were an exact fit, drop in, plug and play unit. Once the unit started it was so quiet I had to double check to make sure it was on. All in all a great experience. Im hoping I wont have to come back soon, but with a 20 year old furnace, who knows? If I do have to come back, I know theyll be honest and have the parts I need.

If you know what you are doing and what you need you might find cheaper on Amazon, but if you need some advice they are helpful, and if you need immediately you can get it there. Also helps to keep small, local places in business. Sometimes universal parts may not work too. I had older Lennox unit that had control board go out and it worked fine for AC in summer but didn’t work quiet right for heat in winter. Both myself and technician couldn’t get to work right for gas furnace. I ended up getting used OEM on eBay since it was no longer made. It was plug and play.

Chrystal is a wizard !Chrystal knows her stuff. Twice now I have had an AC issue and Chrystal knew exactly what to do. In fact they all do at Open to Public. I called in, described what I thought was the problem, an unbalanced blower, and the guy on the phone said it was probably the wheel. He also said bring in the blower and they would put on the new wheel for me, free. Sometimes they get sticky and are hard to get off.So, I brought it in. Chrystal agreed it was the wheel. She could see it just by looking. I told you Shes a wizard. She also tested the capacitor and it was clearly getting weak. She showed me the readings. 6.8 out of 10. Even I know it was going to die next.Im handy, they are experienced, have the parts, and are reasonably priced. A winning combination and it has saved me a ton of money. I highly recommend them.

This place is exceptional.My blower motor died yesterday after just short of 20 years of hard Texas service. These fine people helped me get running again FAST for a tiny fraction of the price of a service call.Ken, and later Matt did a great job getting my new motor into the enclosure, taking about an hour to do some customization at no additional charge. Id assumed I was going to be stuck with doing that in the sweltering house during an epic heat wave.Instead, I returned home with a turnkey situation and was running a half hour after arriving. Thats most excellent.This is a very tight and friendly ship. From the business name to how the staff talks to each other and customers to the organization of the workbench to the way they treat their tools to the cleanliness of the store, they are big time on point.Ive been dealing with them for decades. They are open late and on Saturday. The amount of money theyve saved me has been vast. A couple times theyve offered fixes with no sale needed when I was ripe for the pickin to get hosed. This place is amazing. One of the best customer experiences I have ever had. Extremely helpful and open about how to fix your HVAC system. I had family over for the weekend and our AC stopped working. The two installers (Matt and sorry cant remember the other guys name) were extremely kind and helpful. I got my AC working for an extremely reasonable price. And on a Saturday!!! They also informed me that the last time I had someone repair my HVAC unit, that someone installed the wrong fan and capacitor installed. So I got it up and running with a new fan and capacitor. I can not say enough about the service they provide!First on the phone and even more so when I arrived with my broken Compressor Fan unit. All I had to do was remove the Top of the of the unit and unwire the motor. Very simple. The staff was very friendly and had my order ready when I arrived. The took only a few minutes to switch out the old motor with the new one, mount the fan correctly on the motor shaft and test the new motor. Super friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff! HVAC Technician Quoted me $750.00, I walked out of The store for $171.00. I highly recommend!

Got there first thing in the morning at 10am. My Attic unit blower stopped working and so i took out the motor and brought it to them to get a replacement. They looked at the motor and recommended they test it. Turn out the motor was fine and they suggested the control board might be faulty. They were correct. Got the replacement board there and installed it. Ac is back running.The whole thing cost less than half of the repair estimate or online costs for parts. They were extremely knowledgeable and helpful with installation tips. Great service, great source for homeowner.

If you’re a DIY’er like myself this place is great! My condenser fan motor went out and I called them about a replacement.. they suggested I bring my fan still assembled to the guard. They sold me a fan, switched the motor out and attached to the guard for me. They also tested my capacitor which had an area that was bad and sold me one at a very reasonable price..went home and installed.. it’s 7/3 and 100 outside and AC is working like a champ again thanks!

My blower wheel had apparently been slowly disassembling itself, until finally a thrown blade wedged itself into the housing where the motor could no longer start. Chrystal sorted me out in about an hour, confirming that my motor still worked, and all I needed was a new cap and a new wheel (obviously). She expertly swapped out my wheel, which was not an easy task given that the motor shaft was a bit rusty. The prices were very reasonable (especially considering it was an OEM part), and once I got it home and hooked back up its humming along nicely, and much more quietly than before. Chrystal is both very knowledgeable and friendly, and I cant recommend this place enough.

Condenser blower motor went out on the central unit at our house one evening, which happened to be the hottest day of the year so far (luckily we have a mini split that cools the back living room, so we huddled there for the evening). Next morning, an HVAC company came by and quoted $1400 to replace the motor and capacitor, and actually recommended not spending $1400 on an aging R22 system but to consider getting a whole new system.After kindly dismissing the HVAC tech, we were referred to OTP for parts, knowing that I should be able to handle replacing the motor and capacitor myself. We walked in, Danny immediately identified the parts we needed; then in addition, he trimmed the spindle shaft and mounted the fan blades as well. That little bit saved us so much time and hassle with triple digit heat bearing down on us.Seriously, no hyperbole... this was the best customer service experience I think I have ever had in my life. If you are tackling an HVAC self repair, I cannot recommend OTP enough. I know I will be returning for any future needs I have as well!

Im not an A/C professional. I had a company come out and change a compressor. They told me the fan moter was bad. I came to OPEN TO THE PUBLIC HVAC PARTS. they hooked the fan up and found out it was a bad capacitor. Then they walked me through the system and come to find out the a/c company hooked the fan power to the wrong side of the contactor. There knowledge saved me a service call fee and 160.00 new moter fee. I highly recomend them

I cant say how impressed I am with this business! The fan wheel on my furnace decided to self destruct and I needed to replace it and the fan motor. Called my HVAC company and they said they likely wouldnt be able to get to it until after the weekend. (Its supposed to be triple digits all weekend) Called and Chrystal was so helpful and found a wheel and motor that would work on my system. She offered to bench test my motor because she didnt want to upsell me on parts I didnt need. I was thankful, but wanted to replace the motor since it may be damaged from the broken fan wheel. She then installed the wheel and motor, balanced everything, prepped all the wires, so all I had to do was plug and play when I got home. They do all of this for NO CHARGE. What would have cost $1500 for an HVAC company to do only cost me $320. It is truly refreshing to find a business that is actually customer focused and not posing as such to get your business. I’m a DIY homeowner. I thought my HVAC had a bad capacitor and brought it in for replacement. Matt tested it and determined it was still functioning. I described my issue and showed him a video of the sound my HVAC was making. He thought it might be the fan and looked up what parts they had in stock. He had the part he thought it was but model numbers were slightly off.I made a quick trip home, pulled the fan/motor/housing out and took it back up there. Matt took one look and verified that the issue was what he thought it was. He compared the parts and sizes and offered to help me install it in store. The shop had all the tools and bench testing equipment onsite. After a quick part swap and testing of the motor Matt confirmed everything was working as intended. He gave some guidance on the motor as well and said that it’s not ready for replacement yet but might be in a few years and what to listen and watch for.Matt did all this while serving 4-5 other customers and taking phone orders and running the store by himself on a Saturday morning. It’s not everyday you find a shop willing to give you advice, show you what the issue is and offer up remedies, especially if you aren’t a contractor or professional. I highly recommend this place and will be back for any future HVAC needs.

If you have a little DIY skills and have an A/C problem this is the place to go. They will give you tips and instruction on how to. They will troubleshoot components that you bring to them. I recently needed a 3 speed blower motor and capacitor and they went over the installation steps and put the new motor a test bench to confirm rotation direction. I felt pretty confident when I left. My quote from an A/C company to replace my motor was 1075 dollars. Their motor and capacitor was 175 bucks.

When my HVAC blower motor went out day before Easter Eve, at 5pm Friday Chrystal answered and checked and double checked and found something that would work. Because they were closing in less than an hour and I was over an hour away Chrystal and Matt took payment over the phone then said theyd place in a hidden location so I could grab it and have AC for Easter. After driving over an hour I arrived and to much my surprise! Both greeted me at the door as they were awaiting my arrival nearly an hour after scheduled close. Not only did they trim to shaft to the correct size they provided hand written wiring diagrams on how to wire this new motor into my really old system! I bought a capacitor for our AC that went out on Labor day. When I went in they tried to find the least expensive solution for me. After I put the capacitor on the ac worked until the fan kicked off. When it tried to cycle back on the fan did not come on. I called the shop and they walked me through the troubleshooting process. It turned out to be a wire that was pulled off of the contact (my theory is the wire was too close to the fan and the fan pulled the wire out off the contact). Whoever the gentleman was that helped me stayed on the phone for at least 10 mins trying to explain to me where the wire was suppose to go. The service level at Open to Public is on a whole other level. They are genuinely happy to assist. It is like having a friend in the HVAC business. Our AC is working again and I saved a few hundred dollars on a service call.

This place Is awesome, for one singleReason, Matt! I am not an HVAC tech, just a guy with a broken furnace inducer motor, which I diagnosed myself.(not hard considering I could see wheel barely spinning) Anyway, called a tech anyway and got a quote of $1300 to replace inducer motor assembly…no thanks A#1 Air! So I do as I do when looking to save money. First I saw motor was open so should be easy to replace. I googled it and found plenty of tutorials and tips. I saw an HVAC parts place close to me so I emailed them to see if they had an assembly, Matt said no but they had a motor and would install it for me. So I decided I could do it myself. Ordered the part and when it came in, I began removing old assembly and motor. I had much trouble with that because wheel was stuck on shaft. Matt said he could probably get it off, which he did and put the new motor on and a new wheel. I went back home and installed however I could hear wheel rubbing. I diagnosed it as due to a grommet. I called Matt and advised he said to come back, so I did. He determined it was a misplaced spacer. He adjusted and I took home and boom, problem solved. Now a full day before Texas snowstorm 2022 hits us, we have heat and it did not cost me $1300. It only cost about $200 in parts and the kindness and know how of Matt, which is priceless! The blower wheel on my older carrier system woke me up in the middle of the night because it finally became sufficiently unbalanced (although, by the looks of it, should have been replaced years ago.) After an online search, I found out of town sources that could have been received in 5 days but saw Open to the Public as a possible source so waited until they opened at 7:30AM.I gave the man who answered the part number and he gave me the option of a slightly different part in stock that might have worked or the OEM part from Carrier available between 2-3. Although the OEM part was more expensive, I opted for that although, in retrospect, would have probably have saved money by bringing the blower assembly in to check fit.They texted at 1:00 and I had my part 20 minutes later.Great knowledge and service, very happy I called.

This business is awesome! Matt was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. My mother was quoted $750 by a local HVAC company to replace the draft inducer motor on her furnace. I stoped by Open to Public HVAC Parts and they sold me the entire assembly for $150. Took me 20 minutes to install it, and now her furnace is a working great again. Thanks guys!!!

Honestly, I dont know anything about HVAC stuff and whether or not their products are any good, but I can vouch for their customer service.I walked into the store in a panic because we were at the end of a long road trip and our 5-year-old had just gotten carsick and vomited her lunch AND HER RED SLUSHY (ughhhh) all over our back seat. We didnt have much other than the leftover napkins from lunch to clean up the awful mess and I came in desperate for anything to help my poor wife. After I explained my plight they practically threw a whole roll of shop wipes (theyre going to be more absorbent) and a tub of sanitizing wipes at me. I offered to pay for the items, but they insisted that I take them without a charge. After thanking them profusely, I rushed back out to the disaster area to help with the decontamination. When we finally finished cleaning and I returned the tub of wipes (we ended up finding some wipes in the car), I offered to pay again and they refused.TL;DR: their customer service is great and they were a lifesaver when my 5-year-old got carsick at the end of a long road trip.

Went for a condenser fan relay. the staff were very very helpful. the kind of help that in a normal and stuffy (the normal places where your not a TACL# they kick you out without the goods) place I have never seen. small inventory on hand but was so helpful that it was obviously just small to keep costs low for the customers. They sold me 2 relays, and from now on, they are going to be the first place I call when i need parts, even though its an hour drive to get them. underdogs in my opinion, and I cannot say enough here to promote them. Give them a shot.

First let me say... I *absolutely* recommend this place! My furnace went out over the weekend and I isolated the issue to the furnace blower motor capacitor. I called different local businesses to see if any would have the model I needed. Most places I called I was put on hold. Open To Public HVAC Parts answered right away and told me they had the part I needed. I headed over to the store and picked up the capacitor. They offered a Made-In-China model and a Made-In-America mode ($3 in differencel. No brainer for me. Got the America-made model. Prices were comparable with Amazon prices. Next time I have an HVAC issue, I know where to go. Oh, when I got to the store, one of the staff was assisting another customer in how to troubleshoot his system with a multi-meter. I call that great service!
