Our AC was failing and our renters were having to endure 80 degrees indoors in a Texas summer. Matt was able to come the same day I called and fix everything in a matter of a few hours. He efficiently replaced the fan motor and diligently searched for the source of the leak. He topped off the Freon after asking me carefully whether I didn’t want to consider replacing my 25 year old AC unit. I trust Matt’s judgement and his keeping my best interest in mind at all times. He will be my first and only call in the future for AC issues.

I found Matt Bruners company online through a video on a YouTube channel called Home Performance. I then found his online blogs about HVAC calculations, which appealed to me as this indicated Matt wasnt someone who did things only by the book, but also sought to lead in this area of knowledge.Although the other HVAC contractor that I regularly use also does tests and calculations when troubleshooting HVAC systems, I learned that they did not do any ventilation/dehumidification systems, which was something I was interested in for a potential future installation. Matt, on the other hand, did, so I thought I would reach out to him initially for some airflow issues I was experiencing.When he arrived, he measured my systems static pressures and air flow from each duct in order to inform his recommendations. He was thorough in his explanations and responses to my questions. The price he provided was reasonable.Upon completion of his work, he verified air flows with a flow hood at each air supply register (vent) and adjusted the airflow accordingly.Overall I was satisfied with the work and I will likely use his services again in the future for other HVAC work.Recommendations for future improvement:Additional drop cloths to cover furniture or flooring underneath areas that may be susceptible to falling debris, such as underneath grilles and registers.

He charged me 25% of what my regular contractor quoted and it was going to be a month before they could get the very rare and hard to find motor. To be fair, their goal was to sell me a new system. I am very glad I called Hearthstone! In the past, I had another company come out a few times to try fix my heat pump that was not working nicely with my Nest Thermostats. This other company was not able to resolve the issue. However, Hearthstone was able to get it running well! Now I do not have to worry about not having heat in the winter!
