Going with Guthrie & Sons for my project was the exact ticket to success I was looking for. This home is a family heirloom, and the gentleman like Carson and Christian, working on my property were nothing but knowledgeable, respectful and thoughtful.From Anthony in sales to phone scheduling with customer service to their other trusted tradesmen on my property; Guthrie & Sons were professional and extremely on point at every turn. The project from start to finish was less than three weeks total and left my French Bulldogs and I in comfortable climate temperatures in every single room of the house; plus for the right price point and without any pushy sales tactics! My neighbors have already ask for referrals and I gladly gave them Guthrie.

The time came for us to replace our 20+ year old AC and Furnace and the overwhelming search for the right company to hire began. I met with 8 companies and after meeting Vlad I just knew I had found the company to hire. Vlad was professional and honest. He never tried to upsell us and was very thorough in explaining all of our options. He simply explained the pros and cons of each system and left the decision to us. The one thing I learned after doing all of my HVAC research is not to focus on the price although G&S was very competitive. But instead focus on the company you feel will do the best installation. The way G&S provided a detailed interactive proposal breaking down all the work that will be done really put my mind at ease. The day of install came and the large team of professionals arrived! 4 trucks and a supervisor. Needless to say the installation went super smoothly and I am very happy wth the work and professionalism of the crew. I am so happy I chose to hire Gutherie & Sons to install our new HVAC system. Got recommended this company by my boss who had a whole mini split system installed in his house. Was able to schedule a service appt same week. On morning of service Daniel W. shows up, listens to all of my concerns, and gets right to work. Daniel was able to investigate the problem, took his time making sure hes eliminated all other possible issues before coming up with a recommendation to my original proposal. Fixes up the issue then checks to see if it is working properly. Not only that, he stays with me few more minutes and addresses all the questions I had for him regarding the system, as a whole. Absolutely amazing.Ill be calling back to schedule maintenance services with them going forward. They won me as a customer.

Guthrie and Sons took on the challenging project of installing an HVAC system at St. Georges Serbian Orthodox Church of San Diego, CA. They were the only company among the six we consulted that saw the project through to the end. The members of our congregation are not just happy, but thoroughly satisfied with the heating and air conditioning. The system, split units/floor units with condensers outside, was installed with minimal intrusion onto the churchs artwork. Despite the project taking longer than expected due to permit delays, the results were well worth the wait. We highly recommend Guthrie and Sons Heating and Air.

The technician Jonathan came out and checked all of the units (4) and the outside control panel and all is good. We could not replicate the (small) issue and determined it to be an unknown cause. Great job replacing worn parts in our 5-ton Rheem combo a/c & heating unit. Condenser coils in the a/c portion had corroded from nearby ocean breezes causing the failure of the coils ability to hold refrigerant. The guys were here promptly at 8 am to install the parts and finished by 12:30 pm. To help extend the life of the condenser coils, they applied an anti-corrosion spray. When they finished, the unit immediately started and we had refreshing cool air coming back out of the vents. Thanks also to Vlad for keeping us informed on parts ordering from Rheem. It was quite a process but they eventually arrived! We appreciated the frequent updates.

Guthrie & Sons Technician Mario F. visited our condo this morning. He thoroughly troubleshot our A/C system. He discovered that it was probably about 2.5 Lbs., or half, low on refrigerant. Since it is a closed system, it shouldnt leak refrigerant. He gave us three options, two repair and one an A/C replacement. Given that our system is 20 years old and that we cant endure another leak, we chose to have a more cost effective heat pump installed since the repair estimates were close to half the cost of the heat pump install. He was pleasant. courteous and professional, provided detailed explanations! I recommend Guthrie & Sons to anyone who needs their HVAC system repaired!

I had a very good experience with them installing a heat pump to complement our gas furnace. Vlad, the project manager, did the initial site review and inspected the existing setup in detail. He made sure that all our concerns about the project as well as about the current system were addressed (we did not have an AC before so it was a more complicated install). Price was comparable to other quotes we got -- but the proposed systems were closer to what we actually wanted. We even got a post-season promotion so the choice was easy.Kareem and his install crew were also great -- he told me in detail what they were going to do and answered all my questions about where and how things are going to go. They were working hard all day to finish the project and making sure everything was cleaned up at the end.Highly recommend!

Ive always liked working with this company. Its been quite a few years since we did business, but they are still really great folks. The price was way cheaper than the big shop. I had gotten a bid from Anderson that was over-the-top expensive.The install was smooth, my only complaint was they left quite a bit of dust, insulation, and small bits of debris on the floors. A quick sweep up wouldve been appreciated. Not a huge deal.Overall, very friendly, helpful, and responsive up through the installation process. We shall see how post-sales service goes.

Vlad was very perceptive and found the perfect places for the mini splits. He also found a gas leak, outside. I called SDGE and they responded immediately and repaired the leak. Thank you Vlad!!! Based on my experience with Vlad, I decided to go with Guthrie. I did get 3 more quotes but just wasnt impressed with the other companies. Matthew and Connor did the installation. They are resourceful problem solvers and very efficient. I have newly refinished oak hardwood floors that I cherish. They covered them and didnt leave a scratch. Also, they made sure to tie in the water drip lines with existing exterior rain gutters so that I wouldnt have a bunch of unsightly pipes running down the walls. In other words I am very, very pleased with the level of service and expertise of Guthrie and Sons. Also, they were the only company I could find that offers 25 months 0% financing.

Guthrie & Sons installed a new FAU/heater and thermostat at our condo last year so this was a maintenance call follow-up as part of the original buy. We appreciated G&S being proactive in getting this scheduled and flexible when we had to delay it because of some other issues (plumbing) at the residence. Their tech was friendly, gave notice and did a good job. Our tenant handled the visit, reportedly there was some upsell discussion but tenants do not / cannot respond to that.

We explained the situation regarding the fact that, even with a top of the line HVAC system installed, outside the home air containing cigarette smoke is still getting into the house through cracks in windows, etc. Johnathan said that Guthrie does not do the type of home sealing needed. We were really happy with the service visit (and subsequent system replacement estimate) from Jonathan. He struck us as very knowledgeable, and keenly interested in helping us find solutions that would fit our budget. We had a pretty old and outdated system, and everything from a few hundred dollars (to keep things limping along) to twenty thousand (for a top-of-the-line replacement) was on the table. He helped to guide us through that (pretty unpleasant) landscape, patiently making sure we understood the purpose of every bit of equipment.I should add that he went above and beyond in order to give us an official estimate in a timely way so that we could compare with others before reaching a decision (its really hot, and we needed to make a decision quickly!).

When there was an issue with our slate roof that precluded them walking on the tiles; the owner of the company came by to find a solution! So impressive and really shows the degree of customer care they provide. We are very happy with the service, the products offered, the quality of the team and the fair pricing. Since the heating and air unit was installed, we have been doing the maintenance they recommend and that has also been great; from the service personnel to the schedulers; they really have mastered the art of customer service.

Guthrie & Sons Tech Vlad came up with the most logical and smart strategy on how to install the units on our house. It became clear that he is very knowledgeable and puts in actual thought on how to solve this installation. The Technician is highly trained, knowledgeable and has great soft skills. He answered all my questions well. The quote was competitive, however not the cheapest. The competence was far above the competition, hence we went with them. They were respectful with installation and machines have been running great a year later. There are minor issues with the units that are addressed a year later during the annual maintenance visit by another highly skilled Tech Johnatan. Overall, very happy with the performance of the units and the customer service. I recommend this company without a doubt!

I love this company! I started using them about 15 years ago when the father answered the phone, one son came to the house to do maintenance and another son knew everything about upgrading your HVAC if needed. Cousins and uncles also joined the company. Now it is bigger and better with non family employees who are all stellar. The guys wear booties in your house. They come when they are supposed to. They are respectful to your needs and they are competent beyond belief! While I still love sons Ben and Matt, I also love Wayne who is a fabulous technician who always shows up with a smile. After their most recent job, which was not easy, Wayne called to say he made an error and overcharged us by a few dollars. Who does that these days? We have a rental where Guthrie and Sons also maintains the HVAC and the tenant goes out of his way to tell me how wonderful Guthrie is and how he appreciates that I find fabulous service providers. Got a reminder notification about the appointment ✅, Day of the appointment I got a phone call saying that he was 20 minutes out and I told him great I was at the store on my way, pulled up he was waiting for me he gave me a couple minutes to get in the house and get settled and then he popped up at the door. Had his booties in hand ,stepped in the door, basically asked me what was the issue I explained what was going on he said perfect, when got the ladder did his little inspection brought down my dirty filter we talked a little bit, he said Ill be right back put in a new new filter, next thing I know he was walking out the door with his ladder, came back in we took care of the business and we were done. I would not expect anything less because when they put in the system they came in and rocked and they did the same thing this time. I would 100% recommend them I had no complaints before and I have no complaints now and oh yes I can tell the difference. I love this company Thank you guys

There was a small mix up on both their end and mine and they went above and beyond to fix it, honor their commitment to the customer and ensure customer satisfaction. As a side note my (not so new anymore) HVAC system has worked beautifully and the new duct they put in has completely transformed the comfort in my bedroom. Guthrie and sons came highly recommended and we are extremely happy we went with them after having multiple quotes for mini splits A/C in our home. Vlad went above and beyond to make sure we had the exact system we needed and also that everything was done perfectly. We have a 1950s home with no insulation and original windows and the system kept our home cool and comfortable on the hottest days and also warm and cozy on the coldest days. We are also extremely happy with how quiet the system is. The outside unit is next to the office window and the unit is whisper quiet. We also love the fan setting on the units on those San Diego days that you just need to move the air in the house without closing everything up. Cant say enough good things about Guthrie and sons and Vlads high level of expertise!

Every-thing was cleaned up perfectly after the completion of the work.Wayne explained all parts of the process ahead of time and then documented each step of his work with photos, which are copied to us.
