    Justin called back the same day we called Dons AC to ask for someone to come out and estimate replacement details for the decrepit HVAC system installed in 1982 which finally gave up the ghost last week. He arrived the same day we called, showed us how and why the old system had failed, talked about repair options and rough cost estimates for those repairs and then promised to call back to provide an estimate for a new system. The estimate for a new system was provided as three options with pros and cons for each.We chose an option after emailing Donna to ask for model numbers of the new system components. Within minutes after receiving our email she provided the model numbers so we could look over the system specs in detail. The next day we told them we were ready anytime they were for them to come out and do the job. They responded quickly again and before the end of the same week Justin and crew arrived to do the install. Three hours of steady, focused work later the installation crew (Brian and Allan) had the old system removed and the new one installed. Their work was fast, efficient and neat. They hauled off the old system components.Justin then came back that same evening after normal work hours to inspect the installation, add a bit more freon, fixed a minor control wiring issue, configured the new system and ran it through its built-in tests. After all tests passed, he then patiently showed us how to use the system providing every pertinent bit of information imaginable and answered our questions.The system ran flawlessly during the night as temperature outside dropped to a low of 22ºF, giving both the heat pump and emergency heating elements a good workout. An excellent experience all around–especially in these strange times of overworked, short-staffed workforces in the middle of this strange pandemic. Thanks to everyone at Dons AC involved in this project (including Donna back at the office and anyone else we didnt actually meet or communicate with).Without slightest reservation, we highly recommend Dons AC.

    During one of the coldest times this winter, we had issues with our heating systems. We were fairly certain what the problem was, but knew it was beyond our capabilities to fix. We called first thing on Monday morning expecting a little longer response time considering the time of year. However we received a call less than 2 hours later saying they were on their way. Luckily it was just the thermostat and was quickly replaced and while he was here checked everything else. We had previous experience with Dons AC and knew they were someone we could trust to be fair and honest about what we needed. Thank you, Dons.

    This is a phenomenal place. Many years ago, Don, serviced my grandfather’s A/C unit and refused pay. My grandfather was in his upper eighties at the time. I have used them for twenty years or more. They installed a new Daikin water pump for me four years ago and my electric bill dropped quite a bit as Don told me it would. They have people on call 7 days a week and they strive to service you as soon as possible. Don has passed but his wife continues his legacy with the company offering the same great service and knowledge.

    My AC was staying in the high 70’s to mid 80’s in my new small home with spray foam insulation. People kept telling me this was normal. This company kept coming out and didn’t give up. We were desperate to find the problem and fix it. These guys tried their hardest and after a few weeks said we WILL find what’s wrong and fix this and they did!!! I thought I was going to have to replace my unit. Another company came out and quoted me $14k. I told JD and he wasn’t going to let me get ripped off like that. (I’m a single mom so people sometimes do that). These guys were great and really cared. Our house is finally cool!!! Thanks guys. I can’t imagine how hard it is to get up in theses attics in record 100 degree temps. Appreciate what y’all do to keep families like mine cool.

    Had to have AC replaced during this heat wave. Tech came out and charged my current unit to get us through to installation day. The tech said they would be here at 7 am and they were on time. He said it would take about 4 hours but it only took 3! Space in my attic (where the air handler unit is) is very limited but they got the old one out and the new one in with no problem. There were about 4-5 guys working and they were very organized and worked as a team. My house is finally cool again! Hey did a good job.

    Our 24 year old A/C finally bit the dust. We had a few companies come out to give bids. There were a few differences that were quickly apparent with Don’s:1. They came out same day2. They didn’t try and upsell anything where other companies had add ons3. Their price was better than the others and offered a variable speed system for the same price as others offered single stage.They came out on Monday afternoon and we set the install date for Thursday. Said they would be here at 8:30. Received a text at 8:05 on Thursday that they were in their way.Install was done around 1PM. We love the new system. They cleaned up fully as they were leaving. Had laid drop cloths the entire way they would walk.Overall great experience and I’d highly recommend Don’s.

    Thank you so much Dons A/C,Judah came out and got right to work on our heating system and let us know real quick that we had a carbon monoxide leak from the ventilation going out of the attic...had it not been for the quick response time and Judah being thorough on his job our family couldve had a heartbreaking outcome of our system not heating!!!     Called for AC repair, they were able to come out the next day. Diagnosed and fixed the problem (capacitor) and charged a fair price. One of the few times Ive used a repair Service and didnt feel like I was being price gouged. This company was recommended to me and I would recommend them to a friend as well.

    Our technician Paul did a great job of communicating and letting me know every step of our installation. He helped me understand how the system works and even called during a recent freezing spell to walk me through settings for our new heat pump.     They are a great company and their service technicians are outstanding. We had our annual check-up and the tech found an issue with our outside unit. Thank goodness we have been paying on a monthly plan which by the way paid for the majority of the service trip and the parts. The technician who worked on our unit, was extremely polite and very helpful when I or my wife had a question. I would without a doubt recommend Dons AC to anyone who needs a service check or having and issue.

    We cant be more pleased with this company. Local to us and we are sure glad. They came out to replace 2 of our 3 units and did so with a fair price and honest opinions on what was needed. We have friends in this business and it is hard to find dealers and professional that wont over price their products. Dons AC was honest, fair and might I add, very patient with us and even offered some financing options which were very helpful during a Pandemic.     My heater quit working in the middle of the night on a Friday. I called them Saturday morning and they responded quickly. Had my unit up and running within an hour. Technicians were very friendly and handled business very professionally.

    We called Dons AC a few months back when our AC quit cooling in the middle of summer. J.D. couldnt find a leak but we apparently had a slow leak of freon so he filled it up, said it might make it until next summer but after a couple of months it did not. Dons AC came out a couple of weeks ago and showed up promptly between 8 and 8:30 am. They were professional, courteous and quick to get the job done. We were told it should take about 1/2 day if there were no unforeseen issues and there were none. They were out of here by noon. Our unit was 14 years old so we had to replace all of it and we found it to be very reasonable. They will be our go-to for all AC/Heating problems in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone.

    Excellent customer service and very professional. Standard AC service in the sense that I had no idea when they would come, so a 30 minute service cost me 10 hours of my time and lost revenue. But thats pretty par for the course when it comes to these types of services. When he showed up, he was very professional, polite, and thorough. I will absolutely use them again. I just wish a company could provide a window of time without it costing the customer all day waiting around. That is the only reason for 4 stars instead of 5.

    Don’s was excellent! We called first thing in the morning on 12/09/2022 at 8am and spoke with the receptionist and she informed us it wouldn’t be until later in the morning or early afternoon that a tech would be out. Our system was not turning on and thermostat wasn’t working. System isn’t even 3 years old. A half hour later we get a call and it was the technicians saying they were on their way. Techs were there for about 5 mins and had it diagnosed. 10 mins later they had me up and running. They were super professional, efficient, and respectful. They even told me why my hot water heater was leaking lol. Got that fixed as well. I highly recommend and will be using them again, hopefully only for preventive maintenance.

    I called Dons A/C Service at 7:50am this morning. They had two technicians out to my place by 10:45am. They checked out my system.They installed a new capacitor and 2 new thermostats within 45 min. The charge was reasonable and both techs. were polite and professional. Quality service.     We have used Dons A/C for 10+ years now and we have no complaints. Our unit quit working in the middle of the night, so we called the next morning. They had a technician out the same day in 100 degree weather! He found the problem within 30 minutes. Apparently a snake had gotten into our outside unit and fried the capacitor. He had the part needed on his truck and had us back up and working in no time. Thank you so much Don A/C for your superior service!

    Have a 16 year old mini split heat pump and the came out and added a little freon to keep it going. Tech was nice and was in and out in half an hour.Previous calls have been pretty much the same when our starter capacitor went out a few years ago on the main compressor unit. Always feel like the price is fair.

    It just doesnt get any better than this!! JD went above and beyond to insure that I was without AC for the shortest amount of time possible. Not only did he make a special trip out to my place to trouble shoot the problem (correctly), his techs came in and with absolutely no mess or fuss, double checked my system and had my problem fixed in record time!!Kudos to JD for correctly diagnosing the problem, ordering the right part, and keeping me informed every step of the way!     As North Texas has both strong heating and cooling seasons, I appreciate the importance of keeping the HVAC System in top-notch condition. I decided a regular maintenance program would best accomplish that. I researched HVAC contractors, focusing on cost, reviews and response to my questions. Don’s AC was not the cheapest, but topped the reviews and professionally answered my questions. The service began with a cleaning (inside and out), and comprehensive measurements of system performance. Now that we are in the heavy cooling season, our HVAC system is performing well, but we know if something changes, we will have good service.
