My 20-year-old tankless water heater started delivering hot water with sporadic gaps of cold water. I contacted Abacus using their online service request site. Within the day I was scheduled for a visit by a technician in the following week. The technician gave me status updates about his time of arrival and he arrived on time. He was polite and very knowledgeable and gave me options for troubleshooting, repair, or replacement. Due to the age of my heater, I opted to have it replaced and he scheduled installation for two days later. The installers arrived on time. They also were very polite and respectful of my house and within 3 hours had removed and replaced the heater. They installed it according to code. Everything works perfectly and I am very happy the entire process.

I had an issue with my bathtub faucet leaking so I made an online appointment with Abacus. First time customer; had never used them before. The online appointment process went super smooth. I received updates by the company as well as the technician upon arrival. Alex, the tech that was dispatched to my residence, did an amazing job! He arrived on time, diagnosed the issue quickly, and thoroughly explained the process. He gave me a couple of quotes and options to choose from. Abacus Electrical came same day on a Sunday when the power went out in about a quarter of our house. Turns out it was a blown out breaker box switch and Donny didn’t just fix it but predicted, without us even telling him, what did it: a space heater + the vacuum cleaner being used the day before = blew it. I called Donny a swami and he said “Nah, I’ve just been doing this for 18 years!”That’s what you get with Abacus. Experienced professionals. I found their name in the Travis County Best Picks Guide, which is like Consumer Reports for local repair companies. They test out the companies and gather feedback from consumers.All this great service and their fee was modest and affordable, too. We will be going back to them for all of our electrical needs…and we hear they do plumbing, too! Thank you, Abacus! Y’all truly rock and we love you!

Abacus came out to look at an outlet in the garage that was not working. It was quickly assessed as a short. Kasey fixed it quickly but didnt stop there. He also checked the rest of the wiring to the circuit box and did an overall electrical assessment. He found we were missing a home surge protector. He later provided an estimate for one. Yesterday had one circuit breaker replaced and they found second one that needed to be replaced. Today we replaced six bathroom faucets. Both technicians were outstanding and very personable. The electrician took the time to show me what to look for with circuit breakers and note how many flashes you get on a circuit breaker to determine if it needs to be replaced. In December they also did Gemstone Christmas lights on our whole house. All the employees are second to none. Highly recommend them. You wont be disappointed.

Hunter was awesome. Thought I was having an issue, so I scheduled them out. The issue seemed to have resolved itself, but I kept the appointment just to be safe. Hunter came out and ran his camera through my drain and said there were no issues. So they called off the other guy.Love dealing with honest people. Didnt try to make up a reason to up-charge me or pad the bill. Actually, they didnt even charge me for the visit, since there was no issue.I will most definitely be calling these guys if I do have any issues

Hello, I purchased my generator from this reputable company. I am happy with the quality of the details. However, my yearly service inspection informs me the original installation left off a critical component. The system should have a ‘surge protector’ which was left off. Not being an electrician I would not know that. The tech says Abacus will install the omitted part at no charge. I feel a abacus should have a quality control person to check these things. I have not had an occasion to use the system to date. I do feel Abacus is a reliable company overall

One of the great things about Abacus is that in addition to plumbing and electrical, they can also help with any roofing and drywall that might come up so that you don’t need to go around finding contractors. We needed a difficult second story hot water heater replaced and Abacus sent Matthew and Garrett who did a great job hauling away the old one and installing the new one, as well as qualified contractors to check and repair roof and drywall as needed. We had a major electrical problem and called Abacus Electric, they came out the very next day and tried to fix the problem, Matthew Hicks was unable to after searching for hours. He required additional help to trace and find the problem. They ended up working for two days in order to find the problem and get it fixed, but not once did they act like they were upset about being there so long and working so late. They were very professional and diligent. I was worried that it would cost a lot because they had to come two days and spent so many hours working on this problem, but the price was reasonable. From the lady who took my call to the plumbers who came out, I experienced nothing but courtesy and professionalism. The plumbers were at my house about an hour after I called, they diagnosed the problem and quoted me for the job, which I accepted. Then, the best part is they went right to their vehicle, got the parts, and fixed my shower right there and then. No two trips necessary. Alex and his assistant were a pleasure to work with, and I would certainly recommend and consider Abacus for any future plumbing jobs.

I cant rave enough about Abacus. This is the second job they have done at our residence. Their team start to finish is timely, professional, and polite. Compared to some other service industry competitors in the Austin area, Abacus is head and shoulders above them.Today a small hiccup and road bump in our work. It was unbelievable how quickly, professionally, and responsive their whole team was. They fixed the issue that was 1 in a million and it was done right.I will have their team back to my house for any issues with HVAC plumbing or electrical. In a market where too many up charge and give attitude because its Austin and they can, Abacus is different. I found this company on the web. I needed a mistake fixed that I did on mounting a ceiling fan. I called on Saturday they arrived on Monday. Given the holiday I didnt expect it to be that fast. They came ahead of time. The whole operation they have gives you updates. And they even go so far as letting you see how far the electrician was. I will be using this company all the time now. First, Jonathan was fabulous. He unlike others that have serviced me told me things that need to happen. He replaced the gas shut off valve (strange but was broken off and nobody but Abacus has been in the water heater closet). Next, when unit was installed, water went running through wall and Jonathan explained (after doing it again today)a drain line needs to be worked so water doesnt come through the wall. I will contact next month to schedule that work but I am requesting him to complete or assist with that job. Both men were personable, professional, and easy to deal with. I am completely satisfied and highly recommend Abacus to anyone looking for electrical updating and repair.Donny Bolls came to give me an estimate on upgrading a breaker to accommodate a new AC system. Andres, Great guy. Professional, on time and helpful. He couldn’t help me as he only dealt with drains and I had a different problem. He called his dispatcher and got a plumber out to me. ( while Andres was great I had an uncomfortable conversation with Abacus customer service. I had a very general question. Does Abacus charge a service fee(show up fee, travel fee, evaluation fee…etc.). This question was about their business practices and not my account. I did not verify my identity or contact information as she requested. The young lady was rude and spoke over me and even said my name as she gladly transferred me as I requested. She stated dispatch also could handle my request for a supervisor as well. Thank you Andres. Thank you young lady. I didn’t cancel because no one was available. Juan came out and gave me quotes (repair and replacement). He was also professional, informative and helpful. He told me about their membership and the benefits. The quotes in my opinion were kinda high. That may be industry standards but I want to see if I can get better.
